No BBL available on Linux

Folks,
Hello. I am running PeopleSoft Internet Architecture with OralceLinux 5. I get the error as below:
CMDTUX_CAT: 822: ERROR: No BBL available on site mylinux.mydomain. Cannot boot.
My question is:
Can any folk tell me how to have BBL running on Linux ?

It is the same patch number.
I see it as available for Linux x86-64, Linux x86, Windows 32bit and WIndows 64 bit.
Perhaps you want to install the new OCM for Oracle Support - it should help you get those patches without searching. ;-)

You need to create the Tuxedo TLOG device to resolve this problem.
Execute "tmunloadcf" and look for the value of TLOGDEVICE on the machine
where
the error is occurring.
Assuming that this value is
TLOGDEVICE="/home/tuxapp/TLOG"
you would execute the following:
tmadmin -c <<!
default -z /home/tuxapp/TLOG
crdl -b 500
quit
You should then be able to boot the application. (If you have specified a
non-default large value for TLOGSIZE, then 500 blocks may not be enough, but
most customers stick with the default value for TLOGSIZE.)

If you have a tv tuner card with either an s-video or av/ composite connection, then you can use that under linux with a digital video camera (dv camera). I can help if you are interested. Hope this helps!

High availability under Linux?

Has anyone figured out the products necessary to do a fully
redundant Oracle system using Linux? I would like to have a
redundant server with immediate fall-over, but I'm not clear
whether or not this is available under Linux (I haven't found
anything to say that it is). Any pointers appreciated.

Oracle's text book answer to Disaster recovery is a standby
database. This database will not be available immediately but can
be operational in about 15 minutes or less after the loss of the
primary database. There is no additional software cost to
implement a standby database.

I want to develop an application with J2ME CDC + Personal Profile + RMI OP. I was reading about this, and I understand that these libraries are only available under Linux. It isn�t?
Ussually I use JBuilder 9 under windowsXP. Can I do this application with it?

Then, it is based in CLDC. And I will need libraries that there are in CDC and in Personal Profile...
What can I do if I want to develop CDC applications under windows? I download the IBM�s tool called Websphere Studio Device Developer. It has the CDC configuration but not the RMI Optionoal Package, i read that is possible to update it, but didn found the way.

[SOLVED]How to install this font : it doens't seem available for Linux

Hi everyone,
I'm currently running Gnome, and I'm trying to have the same theme than here : http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … ent=108433. I've installed and used the Hydra theme : no problems with that.
The only thing I miss now is his font, I read the comments, and it's said the font used is "Zero Threes", they give a link (it's on page 2 if you want to check) : http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Zero_Threes.htm
The problem is the font seems to be available on Mac and Windows, but I coulnd't find it for Linux. But the guy seem to have Linux and he's using it, so could somebody explain to me how can I get the font for linux ? Or if there is a way to install a Windows or a Mac font in Linux ?

Error-oracle not available on linux

Just do the following setps:
set your evn> varaible wel
#export ORACLE_HOME= home directory of oracle software
#export ORACLE_SID= name of your DB
# ps -ef |grep pmon to check you process

DG4ODBC is available for linux 64bit, but i need to buy ODBC driver??

I need to connect to Microsoft SQL Server from Oracle rdbms 10.2.0.3 on linux_64bit platform and I've read that HSODBC DOES NOT AVAILABLE ON 64BIT PLATFORM.
So DG4ODBC can run with Oracle Version 10.2.0.3 (patch 5965763 is mandatory) but the Note:561033.1 says to buy a ODBC vendors driver..
I don't understand, i need to install DG4ODBC for Heterogeneous Connectivity but it works only throught other ODBC vendor driver? so i need to buy ODBC license for my aim.
There isn't any workaround for it? some opensource driver or method for connect to external SQL server without any cost effort?

Yes, you are right. DG4ODBC offers only the option to connect to the foreign database using an ODBC driver; but there is NO ODBC driver shipped with it.
There are some ODBC drivers outside (like freetds.org) for free, but there is no guarantee it will work with DG4ODBC as they commonly do not offer the functionality like a commercial ODBC driver from DataDirect or Easysoft does.
If you do not want to pay for a commerical ODBC driver then think about moving DG4ODBC to the SQL Server or any other 32bit Windows machine as you can then here use the SQL Server ODBC driver shipped with the OS or with the MDAC.
DG4ODBC is now a gateway and thus independant from the Oracle database (another improvement compared to HSODBC).
You can then connect from the database on Linux to the gateway on Windows which uses the SQL Server ODBC driver for Windows and connects to the SQL Server.

Is Translation Hub available on Linux ? [SOLVED]

We are using iDS 10gR2 and iAS 10gR2 on Linux. Is Translation Hub available in iDS 10gR2 on Linux? or is it only available for Windows? I can not find it under my iDS installation? I also can not find the Translation Hub documentation under iDS documents? Searched OTN & Metalink and only documents I found are Oracle Notes and a 30page pdf file, dated 2002 for 9i version. Please advise.

ooops - found the Oracle note #284035.1 and it clearly states that Translation Hub is not available on unix. Sounds like we need to purchase another copy of iDS 10gR2 for windows if we want to use the Translation Hub? Maybe it is time to call OPN to check what we gonna do with this constraint.

To run Oracle Parallel Server (OPS) on a Linux-Cluster you would
need (Virtual) Shared Disks with Concurrent Access from all
Cluster-Nodes. As far as I know Beowulf does not provide
(Virtual) Shared Disks (a la VSD/RVSD on RS/6000 SP). NFS, etc.
will not work as substitute for Virtual Shared Disks since Raw

Maybe DB2 UDB EEE (a Shared-Nothing architecture) might become
