No Data in Reports Details in Custom date range
Hello, iTunes U Public Site Manager Admins.
As the iTunes U Public Site Manager admin, I've been trying to access our institution's iTunes U Reports Details for a couple of days. (I send a monthly report of usage to our course/collection contributors.) When I custom the date range, under Details, there is zero entry; "No data available in table" message is shown.
This feature had been working well since Apple iTunes U added this enhancement on August 13, 2013. The report Details showed the exact stats for Browse, Subscribe, Download, Stream, and Enclosure for each course/collection in the custom date range.
Now under "Details", the data is shown only when the date range is Last 30 Days. It shows no data in custom date range when the Calendar is used to select a Start Date and End Date.
Has anyone else noticed this problem?
Thanks.
Q. Wang
Erik.
I used your suggestion and it worked very well. This is how I did it.
Export the range of data that includes Feb. 1-Feb. 28, 2014 as .tsv file.
Open that file in Excel.
Add a blank column next to the Date column. Use function =Month() to just extract the month into the new column. Fill down the whole column. Then copy and paste special (value) into the same column (I have over 26,000 rows of data in the file.) Converting to Value will allow for the next step of PivotTable.
Create a PivotTable for the 26,000 rows of data. Use Month as the Report filter, iTunes_ID as the Row Labels, Select Browse, Subscribe, etc. as the Sum Values. (The result is a summary table with about 200 rows.)
I then do a Vlookup to my premade Master file to add Category (course, collection, resources) and Instructor Name to each of the 200 rows.
That will do it for my monthly report.
Thanks for your tip again. I did not know the .tsv file would have DATE for each item.
Sincerely,
Q. Wang

Need Report based on "CUSTOM DATA field @ Shop Order Maintenance"
Need the REPORT based on CUSTOM DATA field.
Requirement - I am having the CUSTOM data at Shop Order Maintenance that is called as XXX, I need some report in SAP ME which can display the SFC related to particular Shop order based on XXX Number.Hi!
As far as I remember there is no such base report. So, you may try to create it using SDK or request it as custom enhancement from SAP.
If you want to create it using SDK, you can find the required data for report in CUSTOM_FIELDS table.

Data source of an existing custom data library in DLL

CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Using Visual Studio .Net 2005
I am trying to bind Crystal reports Data source to an existing custom data library, located not in the project code, but DLL. My library contains business object implementations.I am using the "Database Expert", creating a new connection to an ADO.NET source, selecting the .dll from the my directory, and selecting the Class Name from the list of business entities that Crystal Report has detected from the assembly. But when I try to expand the newly-added data source, "... no items found ..." is displayed instead of the properties of the business object. I use similar aproach (BindingSource) when I bind my custom objects to the grid. Is there any way to to bind to classes defined in a .dll located in a folder ?There are many examples if the class implementation is in my project code, but I could't figure out how to do that, using classes from a DLL Any suggestion/help is appressiated regards,YakimoPost Author: bfs

Issue with Custom data parameter in Excel Data Connection
Hello,
We are querying a OLAP (SSAS 2008) cube using Excel 2007 by creating a data connection to SSAS server with an extended parameter “Custom Data”. We are using custom data parameter to apply our application’s user security to filter dimension
members in Excel’s pivot table report. We have created a pivot table in Excel and the excel is including this custom data parameter along with each request that excel is submitting to SSAS.
However, when the user selects “Show Properties in Report” option for a dimension which is selected in Row-axis of pivot table, Excel is not including custom data parameter . Why this “Custom Data” parameter is not being included in
the request only for this specific case?
1. The Request which sent from Excel to SSAS when user clicks on “Show Properties in Report” option
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Header><Session xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-analysis" SessionId="AE6B294B-4983-4010-BC5F-E0896A49ECD9"/></soap:Header><soap:Body><Discover
xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-analysis"><RequestType>DISCOVER_LITERALS</RequestType><Restrictions/><Properties><PropertyList>
SchemaData
<Format>Tabular</Format></PropertyList></Properties></Discover></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>
2. The sample Request which sent from Excel to SSAS for all other requests
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Header><Session xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-analysis" SessionId="74165AD6-C240-4634-92A1-61A400A3FC97"/></soap:Header><soap:Body><Discover
xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-analysis"><RequestType>MDSCHEMA_CUBES</RequestType><Restrictions><RestrictionList><CUBE_NAME>RepCube</CUBE_NAME></RestrictionList></Restrictions><Properties><PropertyList><Catalog>QAV10_12thMay2010</Catalog><Timeout>5000</Timeout><SafetyOptions>2</SafetyOptions><MdxMissingMemberMode>Error</MdxMissingMemberMode><LocaleIdentifier>1033</LocaleIdentifier><DbpropMsmdMDXCompatibility>1</DbpropMsmdMDXCompatibility><CustomData>xxxxxx</CustomData></PropertyList></Properties></Discover></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>
As the Custom Data parameter is missing in 1st request our application logic is throwing a custom exception to Excel and Excel is not able to understand the exception message. Excel is sending the same request repeatedly (going into infinite loop) and the excel
window is freezed. Not able to work with excel until restarting the Excel.
Can anyone help me to resolve the above? quick help is much appriciated!
Thanks,
VenkatVenkat,
We have a very similar issue, but there is almost no material to help us. If this gets to you, please let me know if you progressed it or whether I need to go to Microsoft for a solution

Customer Data on Infrastructure DB
Hi,
In the Infrastructure White Paper (http://otn.oracle.com/products/ias/pdf/9ias_infra.pdf), they state on page 9 that the Infrastructure DB can be used to hold "Customer DB" as well.
Are there any conditions on this practice?
For example, if I plan on having approx. 100 forms and reports modules hitting "customer data" from about 50 users, will the Infrastructure DB handle this with little problems.
Also, will the Infrastructure Database be optimized for the 4 GB Ram I have available on the server when installing? Can it be optimized for OLTP after installing?
Thanks,
JimPlease note that while this is supported, it is not a "best practice". Whether you get acceptable performance depends on the number of simulatneous hits you expect. For better response, please try the Forms forum on OTN.
Hope this helps,

Best Practice to Export Solman Customer Data to a new one
Hi Solman experts,
We are facing a new project to move a huge Solution Manager VAR Scenario to a new one server, the biggest problems is system landscape from customer data (LMDB) and incident management customer data (ITSM), also mopz, ewa and sap service delivery that has request from customers to SAP and is Stored in solution Manager.
The information that we have to export to a new Solution Manager is:
Customers: +300 aprox.
Systems: +900 aprox.
- Solution Manager Configuration "Managed system Setup" for around +900 productive systems.
- Customer data in LMDB and SMSY ( product systems, tech.systems, logical components, solutions, etc... ).
- VAR Scenario data from: ITSM (with communication with SAP).
- VAR Scenario data from: Mopz, ewa, Sap engagement and service delivery, Solution Documentation.
We decided to do that to user a flesh installation of Solution Manager SP11 with better system resources, better than migrate our existing one.
What do you think that is the best way to migrate customer data from a SAP Solution Manager SP08 to a new server with SAP Solution Manager SP11 ?
Thanks,

Problem with Save data with report
Post Author: ramprosoft
CA Forum: General
Hi,
I am new to CR and using Crystal Reports XI with SQL Server 2000.
I'm not able to remove the saved data in a report. I have played around different options, but unfortunately I'm not able to remove the data. I have checked variouse places in web above this issue not able to find a solution, so decided to open a new post. The problem is :
I have created a simple report and saved with-out data (1st version) the file size was 16KB. After few changes I have saved the same report with Data, the file size become 1065 KB. Its perfect and I can view the report in Report Viewer. Great Stuff!. Now the Testing completed, I would like to move this report to production environment, I notice that I'm unable to remove the data. I have played around various tricks like below, but it didnt work well.
Trick 1:
Uncheck: File->Options->Reporting (tab)->Save Data With Report.
Check: File -> Options -> Reporting (tab)->Discard Saved data on Open,
Uncheck: file-> Report Options -> Save Data With Report.
File -> Save Data with Report (Not selected)
Opened the report and try "save" and also tried "save as", still the size is 1065.
Trick 2:
I enabled all "Save Data with report" feature. Deleted all the rows in the table related to the query, previewed the report and Saved the report with "Save Data with report" featuer. But now, the funny part happen, the file size increased to 1070kb, instead of reducing. Worst Stuff!!!
Trick 3:
Updated the latest version of Patch and tried above tricks, still i'm not able to remove the data.
Appreciate, if you could help me to fix the problem.
thanks in advancePost Author: salmanq

Hi all
1.What is master data?
2.What is customer data?
3.What is customer master data?
4.What is master data management (MDM)?
With Regards
VijayHi Vijay,
Master Data are data, which are created by users based on requirement, such as:
Customer Master Data
Material master Data
Customer Material Info Record
Pricing Condition Record
Vendor Master
& so on ....
In SAP determination of any functionality, following are needed:
1. Input ---> Logic -
> Output
Now to support the logic to give desired o/p when input is there, we need some reference data against which logic can be developed. This data is called Master Data. Now we have different types of master data like Customer, Material, Vendor etc.
I will also define Pricing condition records, o/p records, text records also as master data as they also help to determine the logic for converting i/p to o/p
master data is modified infrequently.
Data records that remain in the database for a long period of time are called master data. Master data
includes creditors, vendors, materials, accounts, and so on.
n Master data is created centrally and can be used in all applications.
Example:
A customer is master data that can be used in customer requests, deliveries, invoices, and
payments.
n Master data also has an organizational aspect as it is assigned to organizational units.
n Master data has cross-component usage
Examples:
Customer master data uses the same data for financial accounting and sales
Customer master records can be assigned to the following organizational units:
company
code
sales
organization
distribution
channel
division
When creating a customer master record, you enter:
Shared data on the client level
Company code-specific data for each company code
n Data on the client level can be used by all company codes. The customer account number is assigned
on this level. That means, the same customer has an explicit accounts receivable number in all
company codes from a financial view.
If you also have SAP Sales and Distribution implemented, there are additional fields you can
maintain. These fields contain information and control data that are necessary for processing the
business activ ities in the Sales area.
n Fields for customer master data are divided into Accounting and Sales areas. Address data is used
from both areas. In the Sales area, information recorded can be accessed by Financial Accounting
and vice versa.
Note:
The structural logic for customer master records/accounts receivable is also valid for vendor
master records/accounts payable
The material master represents the central source for releasing material-specific data. It is used by all
of the SAP Logistics components in the R/3 System.
n Integrating all of the material data in one single database object means that the problem of data
redundancy is not an issue. The stored data can be used by all areas, such as purchasing, inventory
management, materials planning, invoice verification, and so on.
n The data contained in the material master is required, for example, by the following functions in the
SAP Logistics component:
Ordering in Purchasing
Updating movement of goods and managing the physical inventory in Inventory Management
Posting invoices in Invoice Verification
Processing sales orders in Sales
Planning requirements, scheduling work in Production Planning and Control
n The structural logic that applies to vendors and customers is also valid for material master records.
When creating an order for a customer, you must take transport agreements, delivery and payment
conditions, and so on, with business partners into consideration. To avoid re-entering this
information each time for every activity related to these business partners, relevant data for the
activity from the master record of the business partner is simply copied.
n In the same way, the material master record stores information, such as the price per unit of quantity,
and stock per storage location that is processed during order entry. This concept is valid for
processing data for each master record included in the activity.
Rewards points if helpful.

Checkboxes and Custom Data Objects
I'm trying to create a form with a list of checkboxes based on customers' interests - there's 8 in all and they can select multiple options.
What I want to do is to create shared lists for each option which will serve as a segment members for future mailings.
I also need to hold the data for that individual together so if I ever need to, I can go in and say 'Well, Joe Bloggs here is interested in X, Y and Z so I'll put him into campaigns A and B'.
Are Custom Data objects the way to go? I've had a go at creating one and mapping it, but I don't know what to do with these checkboxes!!
Thanks!!For the shared list, simply use the "Add to Shared Contact List" processing step for your form and make it conditional on the box being checked. You'll need 8 of these steps, one for each option.
For keeping the data, I would use a Custom Data Object. Create a new CDO set with a field for the email address and one for each of your checkboxes (plus whatever other info you want, of course.) And then use the "Update Custom Data Object - With Custom Values" processing step. You can set this step to add a "yes" or "on" or whatever else you'd like to the appropriate field in the CDO. Again, make this step conditional on the checkbox being checked in your form. Again, you'll need to create 8 of these steps, but once you get the first one done, the others should go quicker.
PS, I kept typing "from" instead of "form." Argh. -
Unrelated data in master detail sections of a custom BIP report deployed in R12 EBS
We have a custom Master Detail BIP report generated by calling XDO APIs from a custom Java concurrent program (common_report_attachment) . This Java concurrent program is called from another custom concurrent program (po_validation) that processes a batch of POs in a single concurrent request.
PO_Validation Program (processes a batch of POs per request) -> Java Concurrent Program -> BI Publisher Report APIs
BIP report generates data for master detail sections based on two sql queries (given below) that have 'where' clause based on a common external parameter "P_TRX_HDR_ID".
NOTE: No explicit data link is used NOR an output column of parent query is used in the where clause of detail query as bind parameter.
- <dataTemplate name="NAPPB2BPORPT" description="Data Template for B2B PO Report" version="1.0">

</sqlStatement>
- <sqlStatement name="Q_LINES">

</group>
</group>
</dataStructure>
</dataTemplate>
Issue: Sometimes when the parent concurrent request runs for a batch with multiple POs the report generated for the last PO has inconsistent data in the master and detail sections. To elaborate, the detail section is having correct data pertaining to the PO identified by the parameter "P_TRX_HDR_ID". However, the master section is having data pertaining to the previous PO processed from the same batch.
This issue is not occurring consistently and is not reproducible at will. I
'm suspecting this could be because of not having data link between the queries but confirm from someone who has experienced this issue.
Regards,
Srinathis there any way from the page, can we pass the some values, which can identify the page level data?
if so pass the parameter to BIP report query. -
Custom Data Processing Extension, use in SSRS Report Properties - References
I've built a Custom Data Processing Extension (CDPE) and registered it
successfully (ie. it shows up in the new datasources dialog/drop-down and saves just fine, for VS2010-2014). It is intended to be a custom (XML-based) DataSource. However, based on the "nature of the beast", I also need to have a Custom Query
Designer (CQD) for development testing of the CDPE.
Here are the errors I get for the CQD:
Pulling a report up in "Report Preview", which is wired to the CDPE->CQD, I get:
"An error occurred during local report processing. The definition of the report '/TestDS' is invalid. Error while loading code module: 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91'. Details:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken 89845dcd8080cc91' or one of it's dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception
from HREULT: 0x80131040)"
My CDPE directly includes Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces.dll AND matches everything as far as version and key. It also includes Microsoft.ReportingServices.QueryDesigners.dll required for the CQD.
I've written other WORKING CDPEs but not one with a CQD (Query Designer Custom replacement in Visual Studio). All the references from what I can tell are OK. I think CQDs are screwed up for XML datasources. The interfaces are not right.
(will explain further on)
From the "Data Sources", Dataset Properties, I click on the "Query Designer", I get:
"An error occurred while loading the query designer 'DATASET' (which is the name of the CDPE). Query Designer: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I "think" XML type CDPEs are trying to execute a web services call, versus working properly/CORRECTLY with a
text-based query for XML. The reason I say this is that I've created both WinForm and WebForm test harnesses. They both come up with this error: "...Failed to prepare web request for the specified URL. (rsXmlDataProviderError), Invalid
URI: The URI is empty." (which is nonsense, there is no request, the query is simply text/file-based stuff, and I read locally ALL of the XML data expected for testing without issue -> I'm ONLY making the CDPE XML-based because I have custom
WCF calls which already work). (If you really want to understand overall architecture, please see my post: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d15d9206-95d7-473a-a7f9-a38b4279de8c/ssrs-extension-which-to-use?forum=sqlreportingservices&prof=required
Other than "100 mile" overviews from Microsoft, this has got to be some of the worst documented stuff I've ever seen (
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.reportingservices.interfaces.iquerydesigner.aspx ). Remote Debugging it doesn't work 95% of the time.
My environment is VS2013 Ultimate with BI and SQL Server 2012 SP1.
Thanks Rob
Rob KUpdate:
I can now see the Custom Query Designer and get anticipated results (after some fooling around with different combinations).
Here's how things were broken by the MS SQL Server 2012 product/release team:
1. they upgraded to .Net v4.x here (to support SharePoint, AX, MS Data Tools, etc.)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\Microsoft.ReportingServices.QueryDesigners.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces.dll
2. they left c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS.11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces.dll at .Net
v2.x
3. they don't support Custom Extensions (which use a Query Designer) with anything higher than .Net v3.5
In my case, I had to segregate:
a. Report Definition Custom Extension to v4.5
b. Custom Data Processing Extension to v3.5
c. Custom Query Designer to v4.x
d. my WCF/SSO to v4.5.1.
#2 and #3 above, in my humble opinion are simply dead wrong as far as what you ever want to do in the release cycle (I can see there being an early/first release exception(s), but 2 years out and a successor product (2014) should have meant that this
was rectified more than a year ago.)
Whomever failed to get this communicated in the 2012 documentation created even more havoc than an average developer can decipher:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.reportingservices.interfaces.iquerydesigner(v=sql.110).aspx
(I'm still working on how to get the remote debugger working consistently.)

Custom Data Provider Not Registered in Report Server (Sql Server 2012)
We have a simple test report project set up and can preview the reports with no errors or problems from the designer. We can deploy the report project, but when trying to view the reports from the browser, we get the following error:
An error as occurred during report processing, (rsProcessingAborted)
An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'LiMeDAS' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)
I have followed this article that explained how to register a data provider extension:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/bb326409.aspx
I have placed the assemblies in:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.LIMEDAS\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
Added the following line to the rsreportserver config file (inside the <extensions><data> tags)
<Extension Name="LiMeDAS" Type="Limedas.Data.Provider.LimedasConnection,Limedas.Data.Provider"/>
and finally added the following to the rssrvpolicy config file (inside the top level CodeGroup tag):
<CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="FullTrust" Name="LiMeDASDataProviderCodeGroup" Description="Grants permission to the LiMeDAS data processing extension for reporting services.">
<IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition" version="1" Url="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.LIMEDAS\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\Limedas.Data.Provider.dll"
/>
</CodeGroup>
We have the data extension set up perfectly for the designer, because I can see it as a type of connection and the preview works in the designer.
But, for some reason it does not work in the server. They were set up the same way, but the server will not work. From the report manager page, when we try to add a data source, the only type option is Sql Server, none of the other extensions mentioned in
the config file. Does anyone know what else could cause this issue?Hi Justin,
According to the error message and the issue can be caused by the edition of your SSRS is not support for the custom data provider. For example the express edition have limitation support on this:
Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2012 .
If your edition is the supportted edition and the issue can be caused by the custom data provider do not necessarily support all the functionality supplied by Reporting Services data processing extensions. In addition, some OLE DB data providers and ODBC
drivers can be used to author and preview reports, but are not designed to support reports published on a report server. For example, the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Jet is not supported on the report server. For more information, see
Data Processing Extensions and .NET Framework Data Providers (SSRS).
If you are running on a 32-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for a 32-bit platform. If you are running on a 64-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for the 64-bit platform. You cannot use a 32-bit data provider wrapped with 64-bit
interfaces on a 64 bit platform.

Customized R12 Standard Purchase Order report with custom data and layout
Hi all,
We need to customize the seeded Purchase Order report in R12 to add an additional section to include cost data coming from our custom table. The key is that our customized report should be launched instead of the seeded report via various PO forms (e.g. View Document menu option, PO Communications form to email, fax and print PO, etc).
I manually set up a custom Document Type Layout for the Document "Standard Purchase Order" to use my customized template so my custom layout is shown instead of the R12 layout, but according to Oracle support the report can only draw data from a set of seeded Oracle views like po_headers_xml,po_lines_xml etc.
Any suggestions how we can add our custom data to PO report in R12?
Thanks! Mike.Hi Mike
thats a tough one, the PO generation is a bit restrictive to say the least when it comes to customizing. It sounds like you have worked out how to get your own template in there to render the PO.
On the data front, all I can think of is to customize and replace the seeded PO view with one that incorporates your extra data.
Or, get into the page customization world and write your own extract and format concurrent program/procedure and then hook it onto the buttons where you want to launch it.
You might have more luch, response wise from the EBS PO forum.

Hi,
Is there a way to include the UDF in the items master data into the <<Inventory In Warehouse Report (Detailed)>> PLD?
I checked the default layout and found out all the column source type is "free text" and the content is #Item, how do I know the value of the UDF?
ThanksHi,
Some of the standard reports are hardcoded in sap. Not possible to add UDF field in PLD.
