No free Memory available in Class PERM

Hi
when the user is incresed, Am getting error msg on Dev_W0.
"Memory allocation failed" But my production not affected.
If any one faced this kind of problem kindly share with me to avoid this issue.
Thanks
Jibin.

Hi,
To solve the problem, you have to ensure that sufficent heap of the operating system is always available, it is sufficient to decrease the profile parameter abap/heap_area_nondia
also check Note 139326 - AS/400: Memory Management in Release 4.6x

  • Find free memory available for a MIDlet

It is a beginners question, I am very grateful for any help.
Is there a way how to find how much data can the MIDlet client download form a server?
I found that it is possible to find how much data is available for a recordstore (getSizeAvailable()), but is it possible to determine how much real free space does the MIDlet have?
I mean that is there a fixed size limit for one recordstore so that for example if I get 20 Kb using this method, it tells me how much space can be used only by the concrete recordstore, not the free memory itself?
    Thank you!

check out the java.lang.Runtime class. There are a few methods in there that deal with this (although I have not used them myself).

  • How to read the amount of free memory available?

I need a tool to tell me the amount of free memory left, at any given time. I want to tell my user in advance, and as the experiment proceeds, how much experiment time can remain before we will run out of memory. Yes I know, in a more perfect world the data would be written to disk and not stay in memory; but for now this solution would really help.
Please be clear: I'm not looking for the performance profiling tool. I need something that will tell my program, at runtime, how much memory is left available to it. Is there any such tool?
    Thanks,
    Ken

  • Allocated heap memory goes up even when there is enough free memory

    Hi,
Our Java application's memory usage keep growing. Further analysis of the heap memory using JProbe shows that the allocated heap memory goes up even when there is enough free memory available in the heap.
When the process started, allocated heap memory was around 50MB and the memory used was around 8MB. After few hours, the inuse memory remains at 8MB (slight increase in KBs), but the allocated memory went upto 70MB.
We are using JVM 1.5_10. What could be the reason for heap allocation going up even when there is enough free memory available in heap?

  • Checking Amount of free memory in java code

Hi, Does anyone know of an accurate way to check the amount of free memory available in the JVM or OC4J container? I've been using "Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory()", but that's not entirely accurate since it depends on garbage collection. Is there a better way? thanks.

Each of the methods you listed will show you memory information, so does also vmstat, which can also be helpful. But memory management is somewhat more complex than total, used and free. What about shared memory /dev/shm, for instance? From what I understand, reporting the free memory will not help you to determine if the computer has enough memory available to perform additional tasks. Your script seems to take the total amount of memory minus the active memory and considers the rest to be free, which is of course different than what the system tools report as free.
The following should describe some of the information available:
    http://www.redhat.com/advice/tips/meminfo.html
As long as the server isn’t using swap space, there’s shouldn’t be a concern about physical memory. The memory that’s currency being registered as used can be replaced if another program needs it. To get a "true" reading of memory usage, look at is the -/+ buffers/cache. From an application perspective, the output above shows this server has about 14G of free memory.
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1407643/how-is-the-linux-calculating-memfree
MemFree in /proc/meminfo is a count of how many pages are free in the buddy allocator. This buddy allocator is the fundamental unit of physical memory allocation in the kernel; however there are a lot of ways pages can be returned to the buddy allocator in time of need - for example, freeing empty SLABs, discarding cache/buffer RAM (even if this means invalidating PTEs in a running process), or as a last resort, swapping things out.
In fact, MemFree is generally controlled to be only 5-10% of total physical RAM, with any extra free RAM being coopted into cache as time goes on. As such, MemFree alone is a very incomplete view of the overall memory situation.

  • What is available free memory in skeleton air application?

    hi,
    My pc has 12 gb.
I was developing full scale DESKTOP adobe air app and it started to crash on mousemove. So basically i wanted to see whats available free memory  it was showing 50mb
that was too low for my app to process data.
So i went back and created simple HTML that shows available free memory...it shows 80mb free....whats going on?.
Anyone care to explain? FREE memory should be atleast 50% of allocated memory of processs assuming system uses 50%

  • Issue with turning on project 2010 / 2013 - "There is not enough memory to complete the operation. To free up available memory, close programs, projects, or windows you aren't using, and then try again."

I get the following error after the installation and configuration window of MS Project: "There is not enough memory to complete the operation. To free up available memory, close programs, projects, or windows you aren't using, and then try again."
It happens both with MS Project 2010 and 2013 on a Windows 7 desktop.
I tried installing / uninstalling Office 2010, MS Project, tried installing 32 and then 64 bit versions, clean up, disk error checker, startup changes (msconfig), anti virus, running as Windows 7 and then Windows XP compatible mode.
Nothing helps. I see this issue reported as early as 2007 version of MS projects on Microsoft forums, but I do not see any solution anywhere. Any suggestions on how to fix the issue without having to reformat hard drive? Every other application, including
all other Office programs work seamlessly.
I also tried Microsoft support, after an hour and a half of basically doing what I did before, I was told I have to pay 99$ for "premium" support, so someone can look at this bug.
I have 16 Gb RAM and more than 200Gb or hard drive free, so actual memory is not the problem.

This issue was originally reported with MS Project 2007 and keeps popping up since.
A quick Google search provides more than 200K pages of results of this issue:
    https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=There+is+not+enough+memory+to+complete+the+operation.+To+free+up+available+memory%2C+close+programs%2C+projects%2C+or+windows+you+aren't+using%2C+and+then+try+again.
    And 193K results on Bing:
    http://www.bing.com/search?q=There+is+not+enough+memory+to+complete+the+operation.+To+free+up+available+memory%2C+close+programs%2C+projects%2C+or+windows+you+aren%27t+using%2C+and+then+try+again.&go=Submit&qs=n&form=QBLH&pq=there+is+not+enough+memory+to+complete+the+operation.+to+free+up+available+memory%2C+close+programs%2C+projects%2C+or+windows+you+aren%27t+using%2C+and+then+try+again.&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=&cvid=4cb023c1fbd94ec2bba9821b095f21f2
Computer was defragged already. I run more tests, and specifically when MS Projects tries to run, it tries to take all memory, more than 300Gb, on the computer. (DropBox was running at the same time, and warned that there were no space. As soon as MS Project
stopped attempting to configure itself, everything came back to normal and the available space became available again.)
Looking through older forum posts, looks like this application tries to take "unlimited" amount of memory. Some registry fixes are mentioned potentially, but I was not able to apply them.
Since everything else works, this is a MS Project bug reported by multiple users on various versions of Windows, including Vista and 7, so please provide a fix and not 'not a know bug' lie. All the premium support will say, is to format the hard drive, unless
they have a patch or a registry edit solution. If the latter is true, since the issue exists for multiple years, it should have been already been provided to users.
Also, I am not running a SQL server, or any server, this is an installation on a local machine.

  • The amount of free SGA memory available in the database

    Hi,
How can we calculate the amount of free SGA memory available from the instance if the database is not set for Memory management. If the sga_max_size is set for a particular value and the db_cache_size and the shared_pool and all other components are specified, how can one determine whether all the memory allocated for SGA is in use?

How can we calculate the amount of free SGA memory available from the instance if the database is not set for Memory management. When the SGA is allocated, the memory is fixed, and none of it is "free" really.
how can one determine whether all the memory allocated for SGA is in use? Are you asking about usage WITHIN the pools? If so, shortly after startup the database buffer and shared_pool will fill-up and stay full . . . . .
Here is the script that I use to see inside the data buffer contents:
    set pages 999
    set lines 80

    from

I am trying to purchase os x lion from app store. Getting a response saying I need 2GB memory available but I have at least 40GB free space??

Memory = Ram, the 40G free space you are referring to is hard drive storage space available, 2 very different things.
In order to run Lion you MUST have at least a Core 2 Duo processor and 2G of Ram, to find out whether you qualify (and it seems as though you don't) go to
Apple>About this Mac: you will be able to see the processor type and Ram installed thus
If you have less than 2G of Ram you can install more, if however you have a Core Duo (instead of Core 2 Duo) you can not run Lion.
