No HTTP connect. HELP! (as posted in kvm thread)

Hi there,
I am trying to write a midlet in j2me for my masters thesis, but I haven't been able to make a simple http connection. I tried in forte and jbuilder with no luck, and also with no clue as to what was going wrong. all I got was that the program hangs some time, and then restarts. Recently however, I think I have found the problem. While I was doing some tests with the http sample application in the ktoolbar, that comes with the j2me sdk 1.0.3, I discovered that I had not yet specified that the emulator should use a proxy. So I specify the proxy and the port (proxy.pandora.be 8080), and now I do get some results. I think the program now tries to make the connection, but I still get the following error message (something about http/1.1 403 forbidden). Apparently the proxy server does not allow me to make the tunneling connection. Can someone tell me what to do next. I don't have that much time left. Thanks
This is the output in the ktoolbar screen:

The correct format for your proxy would be:
proxy.pandora.be:8080
not
proxy.pandora.be 8080
A bit confusing, I didn't see any easily accessable docs on what format it should be.

    Hello again
    First off, sorry for confusing anyone with the WYSIWYG reference. Failed attempt at humor. Ah, live and learn.
    Can you expound on what you mean when you say: But there does seem to be “disagreement” regarding whether RH supports HTTPS?
    If you are only referring to this thread, are you sensing "disagreement" because Willam said you can serve content to users?
    Here's the deal. I sort of "read between the lines" with your post and made an assumption and it seems I may have needed to ask you to clarify before tossing an answer out. The assumption I made was based on your statement of: it only lists ftp or http
    That made me believe you were referring to the Publish section in the Single Source Layout properties. (shown below)
    This dialog allows you to specify a protocol used to UPLOAD your generated content to a server.
    What Willam was referring to was the END USERS viewing the content AFTER it has been uploaded.
    Cheers... Rick

  • ACF(Altinn Connection Framework): Message Posting using SOAP via HTTPS

    Hello Experts,
    Giving you the background , we have imported and configured interface content of ACF (Altinn Connection Framework) provided by SAP (service market place). which will basically integrate SAP HR system with Altinn (Norwegian TaX system). Sync Message will be always sent from HR system to PI and which will be sent to Altinn system via Receiver SOAP Adapter (as webservice call). The target URL of Altinn will be https://   eg https://www.altinn.no/AuthenticationExternal/SystemAuthentication.svc
    its working as expected BUT * without importing any certificate of Altinn in PI STRUST or J2EE engine’s keystore.  And Also we have not enabled HTTPS in PI.
    My Question is on Security of the message flow.
    * Since we are passing the message from PI (which is not HTTPS enabled) to Atinn System by calling Target HTTPS Webservice, whether this message is Secure ? if its secure how we can prove i ?
    my doubt is as per the link help.sap link-HTTP and SSL it says "Both parties of an HTTP connection (that is, the HTTPS client and the HTTPS server) must be technically enabled."
    but without enable the HTTPS in PI its working.
    * we tried enabling the HTTPS in PI as per help.sap link-HTTP and SSL , but no were in the Trace which shows the message was sent from HTTPS port of PI to the target URL . if you know where I can find the trace of it ?
    Regarding,
    Danab.

    Hi
    Did you figure this out?
    I am about to deploy this for a customer and have just read through the guide and I am also questioning the security part as well as how easily this is to implement on single stack - I guess I have to do configuration by hand.
    Kind Regards,
    Pernille

  • HTTP connection authentication - Please Help

    I need to call a URL (that passes user and password parameters) to log on.
    Next, I need to call another (and different) URL to perform an insertion. This operation requires the user to be logged on. I could not establish the authentication via HTTP connection.
    ANY HELP WILL BE GRATLY APPRECIATED.
    This is my source code:
    URL url = new URL("http://myserver/validate?
    as_user=X&as_password=Y");
    URL url2 = new URL("http://myserver/save?as_categ_id=82");
    URLConnection connection = url.openConnection();
    connection.setDoOutput(true);
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader
    (connection.getInputStream()));
    String inputLine;
    while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null)
    System.out.println(inputLine);
    connection = url2.openConnection();

    Hi,
    your problem is very simple.
    The class java.util.Vector has no methods get() without parameter and no method next().
    Try using a for-loop with oprNames.size() and method get(i) with i as your index.

  • Help! with creating a J2ME program using the http connectivity interface

    So this is what I have to do using the http connectivity interface:
    1.Creating two threads – one for communication (receiving and sending) and the other (main) thread will be for interaction with the user.
    2.The main thread will make use of three midlet forms. The first form will ask for web page address (URL) and separately for a delimiter which will separate the words in the URL document, the third form will display the ratio of all symbols on the page and the number of occurrences of the delimiter specified
    3.The second thread should perform http connectivity to the WWW, utilise the web page address supplied and connect to the appropriate web page and read its content, count all symbols on the chosen page, count the number of occurrences of the delimiter given as user input on the same form as the web page address, calculate the ratio between the two and pass this information to the first thread to display.
    I have many questions but my main concerns are:
    *1. How to communicate using HTTP interface within a thread*
    *2. What is a delimiter in the context above and how should it be implemented*
    I've been thrown in at the deep end with little programming experience with this assignment. If anyone can share a similar example or answer my concerns I'd be more than happy.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi thanks for the response.
    As I said I have coded in other languages before, but this is a new for me in java. I needed to get it working quickley. Now I can clean up.
    I will have a look at method and see how I get on.
    ANy similiar examples would be great.
    Thanks.I can certainly give you a similar example.
    Say you have code such as this:
      int a = 10, b = 11;
      int temp = 1;
      for(int i = 2; i < a; ++i) {
       temp *= i;
      System.out.println(a + " factorial is " + temp);
      temp = 1;
      for(int i = 2; i < b; ++i) {
       temp *= i;
      System.out.println(b + " factorial is " + temp);Each section of code takes the factorial of the current variable an outputs it. The factorial code can be placed within a method to be called more easily, as such:
    public void factorial(int num) {
    int temp = 1;
    for(int i = 2; i < num; ++i) {
      temp *= i
    System.out.println(num + " factorial is " + temp);
    }Then, whenever you need to call it, you can just do so:
    int a=10,b=11,c=12;
    factorial(a);
    factorial(b);
    factorial(c);

  • How do i use an alredy open HTTP connection belong to aother class

    When my apps logs in the User by checking that the username and password are correct against the server then there has been a connection opened to perform this task.
    Then the user is returned to the Main Menu.
    After that they can send some data to the server.
    Class 1 handles the sending of Username and Password.
    And has already opened a HTTP connection.
    Class 2 that will send more data to the server will need to open a connection if there is not one already open.
    How do i check if there is an open connection?
    Do i need to check?
    Can both classes use the same connection? As its to the same server and same php script.
    Thanks for you help on this (once again :-/ )

              int ch;
              while ((ch = is.read()) != -1)
              b.append((char) ch);
    I am not using flush etc.
    I need to update a phone book that is downloaded to the phone(MIDlet) once the User is verified.
    The user can edit the phonebook on the phone then each change needs to be sent back to the php script on the server.
    Can i have a loop for the number of updates i need to do then just loop through the code?
    Or will i need to repeat the whole above operation for every update i need to make.
    E.g. 5 edits?

  • Disturbing http connection from ISE to an unknown Internet address

    I have an ISE version 1.1.2.145 Patch-5 running in standalone mode.  No one has access to the ISE appliance except myself.  The ISE has an IP address of 1982.168.1.1
    today, I noticed that the ISE is attempting to make an outbound http to an unknown Internet IP address of files.liferay.com.  Fortunately, my checkpoint firewall does not allow this connection:

    The question is why the ISE is doing this?  What is the purpose for this http connection, some kind of "back door" by Cisco?

    Liferay is an open source web portal for hosting cloud applications.  This is definitely NOT a Cisco back-door to the ISE.

    oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.ProxyPort = 80
    But in both cases the outbound fails with the same error.

    Ramesh,
    Thx again for your help.
    We were able to resolve the HTTP outbound errors by setting the following java.net properties to the opmn.xml file.
    http.proxySet
    http.proxyHost
    http.proxyPort
    E.g. -- here is a modified XML fragment.
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="java-parameters" value="-server -Xms8M -Xmx512M -Dhttp.proxySet=true -Dhttp.proxyHost=www-proxy.us.oracle.com -Dhttp.proxyPort=80"/>
    </category>
    We still have one doubt though --
    There are several XML sections where there "start-parameters" are defined.
    Eg. -
    ias-component = OC4J, B2B, b2bmid.10.10.10.10
    Process-type = OC4J_B2B, B2BServer
    As of now we have added "-Dhttp.proxySet=true -Dhttp.proxyHost=www-proxy.us.oracle.com -Dhttp.proxyPort=80" to every of these sections.
    But which is the exact section to be modified for Outbound HTTP?

  • Http connection problem on real series 40 device

    Hi guys,
    I'm having a problem with my midlet whenever it connects to a servlet through HTTP. When i access the servlet through a getResponseCode() command or through an openInputStream() command, a java.io.ioexception exception is called. I'm sure that the problem isn't with the servlet since i can access it just fine both through a browser or through the nokia emulator. The problem only happens when i use a real 7210 device to test the application. When i tested the application on a real series 60 device it worked just fine.
    I think the problem is with the security settings of series 40 phones. It seems that the midlet doesn't allow http connections. Do i need to do anything to allow http connections from a series 40 midlet? I have already set the gprs access point to internet as some posts have advised. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Hi guys!
    First of all, I'll introduce myself. My name is Angel and I am a spanish guy who likes this techs.
    I've been reading your answer to the question related to why http connections doesn't work on series 40 nokia mobiles. I mean about protocol used on connections among mobile-WAP Gateway... and I really have to tell you that you helped me about understanding how they actually work...
    Well, anyway, the thing is that I'm working with this sort of connection through the internet in order to request information from a servlet wich is in close realation with a Database. I launch queries SELECT,INSERT,DELETE,... against the server wich reports the results. This is part of my final year project, in order to finish my degree in Computing Science Engineering.
    But, I am using the series 40 Nokia, to be exact my mobile is the 6100 which has almost the same features than the 7210, and I do http connections over the WAP Gateway of my networking operator. I haven&#7787; ever tried do them over GPRS yet, because at glance it "seemed" to work fine and I didn&#7787; really need to mess with it. Having this hardly controlled, well it turned out that I got some troubles in connections I report you so I hope you can also help me about:
    1.- Connections several times are cut, when it's opened not longer than 45 seconds about.
    1.1.- I found the trick that not closing the outputStream I have indefinied time to deal with them,
    having to close them manually, I mean connections.
    1.1.1 - Unfortunetly that doesn't happen always. The fact is that It works really fine but for some
    particular ocassions when It seems as if it couldn't find the server because it receives no
    data.
    WIth all this, I'd really like to know what the hells is actually going on the wap-gateway. Because one of the things I could realize is that http connection headers are completely changed and fullfilled of data, so I had to take really care with them in order to keep the one I needed.
    Probably that depends on the networking operator I am dealing with, isn't it?
    And going further connections are set up like the mother and father of the networking operator wap-gateway want, I guess, aren't they?
    And I'd like to ask you if my tricky thing is actually crazy just to get what I am looking for, because it doesn't work a few few times, but those make the application goes down.
    And another, When you talk about TCP/IP stack. You mean the queue which in a conventional connections processes are queued-up in waiting for the chance of being admitted to be processed if they are TCP incoming connections or in the oppsoite way if they are outcoming...?
    OK, thanks in advance , and sorry for my peculiar long message, because I'm not so used to write over here, though I am when I try to find answers to the unknown ;-)
    Congratulations to this forum and greetings to those who can read me.
    Greetings from the south-east of spain where sun is stuck on your face even if you use sun-glasses.

  • HTTP connection to ABAP runtime failed

    I am building a scenario where XI picks up a file from a directory and pushes an IDoc to ECC.  I have configured the interface with the Design tool, and I believe my setup in the Configuration tool are correct too, however I am encountering an error when testing the scenario by means of --
    Tools --> Test Configuration.
    The testing tool is giving me the following error upon processing the reciever determination:
    HTTP connection to ABAP Runtime failed.
    Error: 403 Forbidden
    URL: http://serveraddress:port/sap/xi/simulation?sap-client=100
    User: PIDIRUSER
    First of all, I am not sure who the PIDIRUSER is, I assume it's a system user?  Second, given that this error is a HTTP connection error, I am lead to believe that the issue lies somewhere in the RFC connection from XI -> ECC.  I am not sure why exactly it's attempting to connect via HTTP as my communication channel is using the IDoc adapter with an RFC destination to connect to ECC.  Possibly I have configured this incorrectly.  I have read about having to configure a RFC adapter when posting messages from R/3 to XI, does the same apply when posting an IDoc from XI to ECC?  Does anyone have any other thoughts as to why this error may be occuring?  Thanks in advance for your time and help.

    This might help you

  • HTTP Connection using GET request

    We have a J2ME app which is accessing a server using an HTTP Connection. We were using a POST to send the data but kept getting an HTTP/1.1 100 Continue from the server. This is annoying since it's extra code to work around this issue (should be handled by the HTTP stack in the JVM).
    We changed the POST to a GET. This works in the simulator but it doesn't seem to work on the real device (testing with a Motorola T720 and a Nokia). The HTTP request never seems to get to the server, although it leaves the phone just fine.
    Any ideas ?
    =Alan=

    We have found the error of our ways. Here is the scenario and the problem we had:
    1) Originally we had an HTTP POST request going to the server. After we openned connection to the URL, set the HTTP headers, openned the output stream and wrote data, closed the output stream and waited for data to come back on the connection.
    -- Result: Have an HTTP/1.1 100 Continue sent back when the server is contacted. This is irritating as it's quite a bit more work to handle.
    2) We changed the URL in the connection from a POST to a GET (url?data=urlencoded.string). We also changed the HTTP headers to reflect a GET. Since there wasn't any data to write, we openned an output stream, but didn't write any data, then closed the stream.
    -- Result: Not even getting to the server - WHY ?
    3) Then it hit us, get rid of the header information since we don't need it for a GET. Also get rid of even opening an output stream since it's really stupid to do that with a GET.
    -- Result: Now it works like a charm !
    Hope this helps any others whos brains might be stuck in idle like mine was :)

  • Adobe AIR HTTP Connection Limit

    Hello,
    I'm working on an Adobe AIR 2.7 application which can upload files to a web server, which is running Apache and PHP. Several files can be uploaded at the same time and the application also calls the web server for various API requests.
    The problem I'm having is that if I start two file uploads, while they are in progress any other HTTP requests will time out, which is causing a problem for the application and from a user point of view.
    Are Adobe AIR applications limited to 2 HTTP connections, or is something else probably the issue? From searching about this issue I've not found much.
    The file uploads are performed by calling the File classes upload method, and the API calls are done using the HTTPService class. The development web server I am using is a WAMP server, however when the application is released it will be talking to a LAMP server.
    Thanks,
    Grant
    Here is the code I'm using to upload the file:
    protected function btnAddFile_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
        // Create a new File object and display the browse file dialog
        var uploadFile:File = new File();
        uploadFile.browseForOpen("Select File to Upload");
        uploadFile.addEventListener(Event.SELECT, uploadFile_SelectedHandler);
    private function uploadFile_SelectedHandler(event:Event):void
        // Get the File object which was used to select the file
        var uploadFile:File = event.target as File;
        uploadFile.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, file_progressHandler);
        uploadFile.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, file_ioErrorHandler);
        uploadFile.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, file_completeHandler);
        // Create the request URL based on the download URL
        var requestURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest(AppEnvironment.instance.serverHostname + "upload.php");
        requestURL.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
        // Set the post parameters
        var params:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
        params.name = "filename.ext";
        requestURL.data = params;
        // Start uploading the file to the server
        uploadFile.upload(requestURL, "file");
    Here is the code for the API calls:
    private function sendHTTPPost(apiFile:String, postParams:Object, resultCallback:Function, initialCallerResultCallback:Function):void
        var httpService:mx.rpc.http.HTTPService = new mx.rpc.http.HTTPService();
        httpService.url = AppEnvironment.instance.serverHostname + apiFile;
        httpService.method = "POST";
        httpService.requestTimeout = 10;
        httpService.resultFormat = HTTPService.RESULT_FORMAT_TEXT;
        httpService.addEventListener("result", resultCallback);
        httpService.addEventListener("fault", httpFault);
        var token:AsyncToken = httpService.send(postParams);
        // Add the initial caller's result callback function to the token
        token.initialCallerResultCallback = initialCallerResultCallback;

    Could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com? Please include sample media, code, project or app to help us reproduce the problem. Did this occur on the desktop or mobile device? Finally, once the bug has been added would you mind posting back with the URL so that others affected can add their votes and comments? Thanks!

    Any suggestions on what I can ask my IT department to change on the server so I can connect would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jeremy,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    From the error and other description it seems that there is some misconfiguration with setup. You need to provide the FQDN name of the server as might server name is not resolving its name properly and so facing issue. As seems from below details:
    [2014-Nov-26 15:52:20] RDP (0): Final rdp configuration used:gatewayhostname:s:gato.gibbscam.com
    screen mode id:i:0
    use multimon:i:1
    session bpp:i:24
    full address:s:dev-JeremyS2.gibbs.local
    Configuration used and full address name both appears different so please verify configuration accordingly.
    Please check the DNS record, check certificate whether it match FQDN name of the server with certificate name, also try to check to connect with IP address and see what result you can find.
    You can follow below guide to configure RD Gateway and after that verify the result.
    1. Deploying Remote Desktop Gateway RDS 2012
    2. How To Work with RD Gateway in Windows Server 2012
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

    [nQSError: 46119] Failed to open HTTP connection to server 192.168.10.209 at port 80.
    I have checked that IP is still same. What is the issue behind it?
    This is very urgent.I have already posted this issues many times but didn't get any response So please help.
