No scrubber for podcast app on iPhone 4s?

It looks like the latest update only has a scruber when it is operated on the iPhone 5? Is there no way to scrub or even see the timeline on earlier models? Does anyone know how to fix this?

yeah I noticed that too.
but I found it. if you tap the cover on the now playing screen it will show at the top of the screen as an overlay... vs the old slide up cover behavior.
on my ipod anyway

i create enhanced podcast, and try that podcast on itunes app on my pc. Everything work ok, except pictures but i know that this is bug with curent version of iTunes. Then i opet same m4a enhanced podcast in quicktime app on my pc, again everything work ok, i see chapters and i see pictures. Then i put same file on my server, i see that podcast in my podcast app on my iphone and ipad and when i stream it , i don't see pic and logo for chapters. when i scan my enhanced m4a podcast file i see that my file have: general,audio, video & menu section

i test your podcast episode 36 then episode 33 and 31 ! bad news my friend no chapters and no pictures only one main pic. but when i test your podcast in downcast app in my iphone wooo i see text i see your pic i see chapters i see everything. so that mean it's working everywhere like mine except iphone and ipad app and now we come to theory of garage band things tags in m4a files. you write that you have done all this in podcast maker not garage band. This is now real mistery to me !
i analyze your file here and you have in last section menu1 and menu 2 so maybe problem is somwhere around this, not in format id because you have ok format id like one that working ok

Unable to turn cellular off for podcast app

In looking at an overusage of cellular data, I've decided to turn off cellular data for almost all apps. When I turn cellular data off for Podcast app, leave cellular settings menu, and go back in, cellular data for Podcast is back on. Even if I go into the Podcast settings screen, and turn data off, it immediatley goes back on. Why can't I get Podcast app to stop using cellular? I've restarted the phone. I don't even use Podcast app, but now it seems that I can't delete it from my phone either. Help! iPhone 5s, version 8.1

so now I've done everything from resetting settings, resetting network settings, turning wifi off, turning phone in and off, messing with cellular data and background app refresh as well as notifications.

God **** it now I have to write things in the Notes app and copy/paste them here because it's randomly not inputting my text and when I start typing it says "GGo" instead of Go, double typing the first letter. Why the **** doesn't Apple have a mobile app/setup of this?
Anyway it looks like if you have Cellular Data turned off for an app and do an iOS update it causes this bug. Sometimes the things above work, sometimes not. This is insanely frustrating.

The scheduling options on the iPhone are limited to non-existant. You will have to use your Desktop iCal to make any desired repeat options.

Unable to disable cellular data for podcast app Iphone 4S on IOS 8.0.2

I keep disabling the Cellular Data in the Podcast app settings - but it keeps re-activating itself when I close the settings.
IPhone 4S running IOS 8.0.2, but first noticed on IOS 8.0.0.

Rebooting the phone and retrying does not help.
Disabling podcast cellular data from Cellular settings does not work.
Disabling podcast cellular data from Podcasts settings does not work.

1. I do not know if this will help you or not. In researching this issue with my wife's iPhone 5c 8GB, the most common answer you will get is to adjust this or that setting, and disable this or that App. These at best are only a band-aide solution at all. The best reply I got was from a Verizon Rep that stated "By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress, or information is being back-up wirelessly and the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data if it is left on". Afterwards, I discovered the exact same information here on the Apple Support Forum to support this statement.
2. Later onward, I read that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, it will prevent it from going dormant. In which case, this will prevent the iPhone from turning off the WiFi, and keep it connected to the WiFi. So far, this has help the most in controlling the amount of data usage being used, by my wife's iPhone.
3. Now about looking at the detailed usage summary online, you can not go by it to see the exalt date/time stamp of the data usage. Because, by design the cell towers will collect and store certain data usage for up to a six-hours period. After the six-hour period, then the cell towers will release the stored data usage to the company's servers. And at that time, the collected data usage will be recorded on your detailed usage summary online. For a long time, I brainwork that I had caught Verizon with their hand in the cookie jar for say. Because I knew that we were not using data usage at these odd-ball hours of the night or day. Yet, now I have learn that this is just not the case.

New fix for Podcasts app

Hello,
After a long period of bad problems with Podcasts app, I finally got it right.
This is a fix so simple to do that most people will do it wright first time. There is no need to call your Mac Geek friend to help you.
This fix solves all problems you have with this app, even the one that is eating up your data plan in iOS6.
This fix also works with all iOS devices on iOS 5 or iOS 6.
You must have an Macintosh computer with the latest iTunes installed in order to this fix works right. (I guess).
Here is the fix:
1) Connect your device to your Mac and make the backup ofr your device. After the backup is done, disconnect your device.
2) If you have Sync Podcasts enabled in iTunes, unenable it and hit the Sync button on the lower left side on iTunes. iTunes will not send any Podcast to your device.
3) Now, it is important to have in the iTunes (Mac) all subscriptions your devices have. If you don't have, it is the right time to do it. Subscribe to exactly same shows. We will use it again later, don't skip this step.
4) Open in your device the Podcasts app and and unsubscribe all your subscriptions.
5) Press Edit in the Podcasts app. In your iPad it is located at the upper right hand side and in your iPhone it scroll up all your show icons and the Edit button is located at the second bar from top to botton. Press the X and delete all your subscriptions.
6) Kill Music and Podcasts apps. Hit the Home button 2 times and press the X icon on the upper left side.
7) Go to iTunes in your Mac and open the list of App you have and delete the PodCasts app in the list and delete the Podcasts app in your devices.
8) Now, connect your device again and wait it sync.
9) In iTunes (Mac) click in your device on the left side of the window, and select Podcasts index on the top of the window. Click on Podcasts. Enable Sync Podcasts. Enable Automatically include all unplayed and episodes of all podcasts.
10) Press the Sync on the lower right side.
11) In your Device open the Music app, you will see Podcasts returned to work in the Music app.
12) Now you can listen to your podcasts and it keeps sync of what your are listening.
Deleting the Podcasts app was the only way to make it work right.

This also does not restore the ability to add podcasts to music playlists - a function that I used on a daily basis to mix spoken word audio. (Podcasts, audiobooks, MP3s) I often listen to these playlists outdoors in a cold climate and cannot unbundle myself to switch between apps. Thanks Apple, for making things more difficult!
I'm getting tired of ripping all my podcasts into AAC or MP3 in order to accomplish an operation that used to be effortless and if there is not an official fix for this by the time I receive my bonus in February, it is going toward an Android phone! Movies are too large to download through 3G, so I love to browse iTunes. It would be great to add movies, I want to buy later at home from my iMac, to a wish list.

How to delete Podcasts app from iphone 4s

I only have 5GB of data. I can't afford more.
PODCASTS take up 432 KB I never use this APP nor will I in the future. Why should it be allowed to take up so much of my data.
The same goes with HEALTH 208 KB AND VOICE MEMOS 781 KB and SOUNDS 588 KB.
I want them all gone. I have never and will never use them.
Please help me delete them.

The built in iOS apps cannot be deleted. You will need to delete something else if you need more room.

Why aren't NPR podcasts playing properly in the iOS podcast app?

i've been listening to 4 NPR podcasts (fresh air, planet money, pop culture happy hour, and world story of the day) for several years. for the past week+, these podcasts have consistently had problems when i've tried to play them in apple's podcast app. when i hit play, the podcast usually plays for 5-15 seconds and then there's a little 'whEErP!' noise as if reel of film or cassette tape has snapped. the podcast app indicates that time is still elapsing in the podcast, but everything is silent.
any tips? this has never happened to me before, and obviously it seems pertinent that it's happened with all 4 of the NPR podcasts, but no others.

I also had a lot of podcasts in my Mac's Itunes library, but none of them appeared in my iPhone's podcasts app.
Here's what worked for me:
1- Uncheck all podcasts in Mac's iTunes (under devices > iphone > podcasts)
2- Syncronize (That should mean deleting all podcasts from the iPhone)
3- Uninstall Podcasts app from iPhone
4- Reinstall Podcasts app
5- Re-Check podcasts to syncronize in iTunes
6- Sync
7- It worked for me!

Receiving Podcast app error message anyone getting that after the 7.0 ios download?

I called Apple Care last night. The default setting on Podcast App is to require download via the phone not sync.
You have to change your setting on the iPhone in 3 places:
1. Settings - ITunes & App Store - Ensure "Automatic Downloads" is on for all items (note that my cellular data is off for iTunes)
2. Podcast App - go to the settings of each Podcast (tap Podcast - settings) ensure the following settings
a. Refresh Podcast - not set to manually - mine is set at "every 6 hours"
b. Auto-Downloads - not set to off - mine is set to "most recent"
If you syncing with a Mac, what Apple explains happens is that you sync with iTunes on the Mac, then the iPhone will automatically download over my wireless connection.
Please note that if you are using cellular data for Podcast App - this might not be a solution for you.

You need to sign up for google maps API here : http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html, get your API key. You need this otherwise it will not work. Thendownload the SDK, from here:http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/flash/ its on the right, on step 2, "SDK"
the set up flash with the SDK, and then in your components inspector there will be a new folder saying google.
