No sound on games after 10.7.2 update. Are you gonna fix it?

After the 10.7.2 update the sound on many games such as ''Heroes of Newerth'' fails.
Is there a change to fix it soon?

Please do not post in such large text. It is like shouting. You are not talking to Apple here, just other users. Either give an explaination of your exact problem and what you have tried, maybe even search these forums for similar issues and see if people solved them (look at the right hand column for a start) or contact Apple Support.

    Luke-bryan, welcome to the forum.
Here are some suggestions on what to check:
If you don't hear sound when playing a YouTube video, try these troubleshooting steps:
Adjust the volume on your computer and speakers.
Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the YouTube video player.
    Restart your browser.
Try turning up the volume for other video players (like Quicktime, Real Player, or Windows Media player).
If you still have no sound after completing the steps above, these additional tips may help:
Update your Flash Player to the latest version.
Allow third-party Flash content on your computer. Learn more by visiting Adobe’s help page.
Check any Antivirus and Firewall software to see if its blocking third-party Flash content.
Try these to see if any of them help.

  • Sounds not working after 10.7.3 update

After the update my mail, popup, system sounds aren't all working. Also some are now mixed up. The sounds are listed in the system prefs/sounds but they aren't working when needed. Anyone have any suggestions? thanks.

I got it working by resetting the PRAM.....shutdown, then as soon as you restart the machine, hold the oprion-command-P-R buttons on the keyboard until you hear the second startup tone.

  • No sound from speakers after 10.4.4 update

After doing all the latest updates I'm not getting any sound from the speakers on my powerbook. I can stream music, or listen to sound on my headphones, but not from the speakers. Any ideas?

If you did your update through the software update function, some have found that applying the combo update, which has to be downloaded from Apple, fixes things. Apparently the updates done through the software update function don't always update everything they should, where the combo update is a more thorough update.
You can find the 10.4.4 combo update at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1044combo.html and the current 10.4.5 combo update is at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1045combo.html

  • Pavilion dv6-6c35dx - Sound not working after a HP Support update

    Pavilion dv6-6c35dx with windows 7
I recently did a factory reset, and with the reset had to do all the updates. One of those updates from the HP Support assist was IDT High Definition Audio CODEC version 6.10.6381.0 on driver stwrt64.sys. And with that update i no longer have sound. When i put the cursor over the sound icon on the toolbar it says no headphones or speakers are plugged in. I already tried disabling and re-enableing the AMD HDMI output audio device through the control panel menus, didnt work, also it says its not plugged in. When i go into the hp supprt assist, to troubleshoot, to audio and sound, the status on the IDT says Error(52).
    How do i fix this?

    Hello everyone,
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
It would appear that you two are experiencing different issues. I will definitely address both of you!
First, I feel it would be wise to perform a System Restore. You can return the computer to a point before the issue existed. Here's how to do it: Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7)
If that doesn't work, then look at the below suggestions:
*Before any real troubleshooting, please put your computer in a clean boot state. This should prevent third-party programs from interfering. This document provides information on how to do it: How to perform a clean boot in Windows*
*Next, unlock a new Administrator account, so we can troubleshoot on a clean account. Open Command Prompt as Administrator, and hit Enter after typing the following: net user administrator /active:yes
You will be able to log out of your current user account, and log into the Administrator one.
*Finally, make sure all of your Windows updates are complete:
    1. Open "Windows Update" in Control Panel.
    2. Click "Settings", and then click "Install optional updates".
    3. Next, click "Check for updates".
If that step doesn't work, then look below for the appropriate troubleshooting:
@epicness50 , you need to perform all of the steps in this document: No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7)
Also, since there is a Device Manager Error 52 issue, you may want to look here for additional information and suggestions: Code 52: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device
*The above Microsoft document is for Windows Vista and Server 2008, but the troubleshooting can be done in Windows 7.
@LENNY12 , you mentioned you uninstalled and reinstalled Support Assistant. However, I'm going to ask you to do it again, but with a little more troubleshooting to address what could be causing the issue.
Source of the troubleshooting is my own post: HP Support Assistant Windows 8.1
Uninstall your version of Support Assistant in Control Panel, Programs and Features, then restart the computer.
Solution: Download Support Assistant from its own special home
    1. Click on the following link: HP Support Assistant. It will bring you to the following page:
    2. Click on "Notebooks, laptops, netbooks " under "Download HP Support Assistant". It will prompt you to download it. So save it, then run it AS ADMINISTRATOR.
If either of you are still experiencing issues,  I would perform a System Recovery to reinstall Windows. This will rule out which of the above options are to blame.
First, you should backup your data. I will provide information on how to do that: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 7)
Once this is done, it is safe to do the System Recovery. Here is some information on how to do this: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7)
Thanks and have a great day!

  • After the July 16th news, are you getting an iPhone 4?

So, after hearing Steve Jobs on July 16th, are you getting an iPhone 4? It will be released in Canada on July 30th. I currently have a 3GS and want the new iPhone badly, but am on the fence. The case isn't an issue, since I would be buying a 3rd party case to protect the perimeter and back.
I am hesitating because based on what I've been reading on a few tech blogs, there's a chance Apple might release a revised phone early, as in a few months from now. Are you taking the plunge?

Yes, a revised iPhone is a real possibility. It could start shipping tomorrow. Or next week. Or next month. Or September. If one is launched, it could be as early as October, or possibly November. We might also see a revised iPhone in December or January, and of course Apple could choose to start shipping modified handsets in February or March, or they might wait until April, May or even June. And the iPhone 4 S could be launched in July.
It's also a real possibility that Apple might think that they don't need to do anything - sales figures are healthy enough even with the "problems", so they could decide there's no need to spend more money changing the current model when people are buying it regardless.
However, those are all simply possibilities - they might happen, they might not. What you should be thinking about is the reality - the iPhone 4 is available right now. Some people have problems; most don't (based on the stated fact that .55% of owners have complained - meaning over 99% of owners have not complained). The most sensible course of action is to either buy an iPhone now, and see if you can cope with it. If you can, great - keep it, you're an iPhone user. If not, no probs - get a refund and wait up to a year for a newer model.
There is ALWAYS a newer, better model of whatever gadget just around the corner. The question is, do you wait for the next one, or do you buy the current one and actually use it?

    (A) Reset iPad

    (B) Swipe upwards from bottom of screen to launch Control Center. Make sure sound is not muted (tap the little bell)

Audio works just fine in 10.4.6. Both of you have some contributing factor that is causing it to fail.

  • Iphone sound stopped working after ios 6.0 update

My 4s was working fine until I updated to 6.0.  After that, my sound stopped working.  If I plug in headphones it works, but as soon as I unplug it stops.  When I plug into my USB sync cable it works, but when I unplug it stops working. I updated through user settings over wifi and not through itunes sync if that makes any difference.  I know other people are experiencing similar problems.  Any help would be appreciated.

Yes rev, I tried the dock cleaning as well, I didn't help me either. I read and tried everything others did-no luck. I'm guessing these are the facts, either it will quietly get fixed on an update or the % of phones with the problem compared to those that don't doesn't warrant attention and is better addressed through Apple by just replacing it..if it's still under warranty.

  • Sound not working after checking for driver updates and resetting bios

I am running a  (HP Pavilion dv7-6c60us Entertainment Notebook PC)
I had muted the sound and did a system upgrad prompted by my HP assistant after logging on.   Now when I try to get sound nothing happens.  So I went out to the support site and checked for driver updates and none were found.  So I then went into my system bios and reset it as stated in a support for sound not working and still no sound.   HOW DO I GET MY SOUND TO WORK AGAIN?

From your models support page Download & Save the latest Audio driver.Go into Control Panel,Programs & Features- Uninstall IDT software.Restart the laptop. After Windows loads, install IDT audio using the downloaded file.

  • HT202157 For a while now sound is slow to come on with Apple TV. We have no sound at all after an hour. We are running with the 5.2 update.

Sound isn't coming on with Apple TV. Sound works otherwise.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

  • Hdmi sound problem began after 10.7.2 update

Since I've applied the latest update, I am no longer able to switch my audio output from headphones to HDMI. I change between the two on a near daily basis. I hadn't previously encountered this problem with any 10.6 or the previous 2 releases of Lion. I have a Panasonic TV. Whenever I click to change the output from headphones to hdmi from either the top bar sound icon or through settings/sound it reverts right back to headphones...

Those with no audio at all, do you have 2010 or 2011
Minis or something else?  Reason I am asking, is that
I have updated my 2010 to 10.7.2 (hoping it fixed iTunes
movie issues, didn't) and have had no change in my
    audio performance.   My configuration is:
    Mini->Yamaha Receiver->Samsung TV.
I know in the past, trying to debug some other issues,
having the HDMI and optical connected at the same time
defaulted to optical out and could not get HDMI audio.
It seems that deep in the Hardware/Fimware/LowLevelDriver
there is some link between the two and probably the original
designer is gone and the people working on it now are
clueless as to how it works.

  • Sound not working after Kindle Fire HD update.

Skype 2.x on the Kindle Fire HD was great.  A little buggy, but it worked very well overall.
I just received an involunatry update of Skype, to version 3.x, and now the app has a host of problems, the worst of which is that the sound during calls is too soft to be useable.
This applies to both the sound on both ends of the call.  I can barely hear the people I am calling, and they can barely hear me.
    The application is now unuseable.

    For aibcje
    1. To delete the app, hold your finger down on the skype icon until it comes up with various options, then click on "remove from device"
    2. Click on "Apps" at the top of the main front screen.
    3. Now at the top of the screen you will see a button marked "Cloud" and "Device", press the "Cloud" icon and you should get to a page load of icons, with ticks in the corner.
    4. Scroll through until you see the skype icon and click on it.
    5. Now register with your old user name and password and you should be back up and running with the preinstalled version of skype.
