No sounds on my Apple TV. Help!
I updated the software on my Apple TV and there is video, but no sound. I have checked all settings. Any ideas?

I need help to solve my problem with using a HDTV, PS3, Cable Box, and a Bose 3-2-1 system together.
The sound does not come thru the Bose while using the PS3 to play games, watch Blu Ray movies or Netflix. Also, there is no picture if I try to use the Bose to watch a DVD.
Help! Would Apple TV help me? I do have a MacBook Pro, an ipad, and iphone 4 and love, love , love, Apple products.
Oh.....also there is a wireless router/modem that is connected to the cable box for WiFi in the house.Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately an Apple TV will not help with the problems you have described. How do you connect your devices (PS3, Cable box) to the reciever and TV. -
I have an ipad3. I brought brought a wireless AV Box to view videos on the TV. I have tried this on both hdmi TV an can only get sound no picture. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to iPad so not too tech please.
What iOS in on your iPod? The Users Guide says:

the sound on my ipad 3 suddenly stopped working i dont know why i tried the last two days to fix it and also restored it and the sound never came back, please help.....
Do you get sound on any apps e.g. Music and Videos but not others ? If you do then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Why would sound distort thru Apple TV
Why would sound thru an Apple TV to either my home theater or whole house audio, as well as playback from an iPad thru the home theater be outrageously distorted? Sound sources include iTunes and a plugin for Indigo 5 (home automation) and the voice Serena for announcements.
Everything was working fine until about three weeks ago, when the distortion started. For several months it had all been working great.
Any help, much appreciated.

Rob ZAppleTV can output audio via HDMI cable, optical cable (if your amp has an input I'd recommend that) or analogue RCA sockets - these are a pair of red and white sockets - left channel generally goes on the white connector, right channel on the red.
There are separate RCA sockets for component video - the component term applies to video not audio so do check you're connected to the audio sockets not part audio part video.
I assume you have a lead with 2 RCA plugs at each end connecting to AppleTV and amp at the other.
By monotone do you mean sound only from one speaker or that it's the same from both i.e. mono not stereo?
I suspect you mean sound from only one speaker. If you get sound from both with other sources on the amp then that excludes an amp to speaker connection issue or a faulty channel on the amp. If this is the case then you may have connected incorrectly to AppleTV or the amp, only have a single connector on your lead or have a faulty lead. It's unlikely but the input to the amp could also be faulty so if there's a spare input try another or swap for testing purposes.
Do not connect to a phono in on the amp as it is a much more sensitive circuit and will sound loud and distorted. A CD, tuner, aux, tape in, TV or similar input should be fine.
If your sound is mono not stereo then either you have a mono setting on the amp, or have possibly encoded music as mono not stereo.

I am using iMAC 24", today I installed Windows XP by using Boot Camp,evrything works perfect, but the sound is terrible in windows, especially when u click sonething, it sounds like something covered the speakers...So I updated the Boot camp and audio driver to the latest one, still dose't work...
Any help?I should add that on my Imac volume is not the issue - poor quality sound is! Sounds like the music is coming through an old pc speaker from the early 90's when pc weren't supposed to have sound!
If Apple is going to sell computers to the people that have to use Windows but would like to own a Mac they must do a better job of good drivers for the Windows side.
Problems plaguing the Bootcamp:
1. Fans don't run at a high enough level to deal with the heat.
2. Wireless dropouts on the Windows side.
3. Terrible sound quality in Windows on an Imac 3.06 GHZ.
4. Two or three finger right click instead of lower right corner right click.
(This has caused several of my clients to steer away from buying Apple)! -

I Tried Everything I Even Restarted My Settings Just So I Can See if That Would Work Because Someone Sujested It But What They Neglected To Say That Their Probrolem Was With A Ipad ? Anywho To Keep It Short I Went Online Logged A Complaint With Apple Made A Appointment With A Apple Store In My Area To Take The Phone There After Trying Everything (Resetting, changing setting etc..........) Nothin Worked Upon Taking The Phone To The Store They Swapped Out My Phone For A New One Volume On New Phone Is Perfect And I Only Had To Wait 40 Minutes -
Today an Apple tech helped me 60 min ago. Although my wife and I have diff apple ID's, our music was mixing and syncin back and forth. The tech told me to create new comp user account for wife which I did. I wiped out everything on her ipod and signed in under her ID. When I tried to put it back I got a message that I couldn't download her purchased music for 90 days because there was another apple ID associated with my computer. Not sure wether that means mine or hers. What I am sure of is that I'm dead if I can't get her music back. Please help. Thanks, Craig
I can understand how that would be frustrating. If you created a brand new Apple ID for her, your Apple ID should not have been affected any more than anyone else's. They are as separate from one another as your Apple ID is from mine.
Since you just bought your MacBook Air, you can certainly contact AppleCare for this, and I encourage you to do so. They will straighten it out.
Until then, if you want to troubleshoot this on your own, sign in to your Apple ID here:

Click the blue "Manage your Apple ID" button. If it says it no longer exists or gives you other hassles, it's probably not worth your effort to pursue. Have Apple fix it.

Apple does not have an international warranty. If the phone was purchased in the US, it must be serviced in the US, in warranty or out of warranty. Also, Apple will not accept international shipments...the phone must be physically returned to an Apple store in the US or mailed from within the US.

I want to change my primary e-mail address that I use with Apple ID - help guide says Select Edit next to “Apple ID and Primary Email Address.” But there is no 'edit' on that section there is on every other but not that one. Can anyone help?
You can create an alias @icloud.com email address within your current account that will receive email in your current iCloud inbox (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a). (@me.com addresses are no longer available as new addresses.) Just be aware that you cannot use an alias address later to create a new iCloud account or move it to a different account.
Also, even if you created a new iCloud account with a new ID, your existing purchases would not be lost. They are permanently tied to the original ID you used to purchase them. You can also continue to use the existing ID for the iTunes store; it does not need to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud. -
Corrupted sounding music...please help
Hello I have a problem on my new ipod 5th gen 32gb. When I sync my music over to my ipod it sounds corrupted but on itunes it is completely fine. I have tried to delete and resync the music but it still sounds corrupted. Can anyone help?
I actually have been able to fix it by restoring the iPod and now it works perfectly. Thanks for your help anyway I was hoping that I didn't have to have bring it back to the store because I had just got the device today.
