Hi all,
I created a TagQuery in HistoryEvent mode and sent a tag name, but when I run the TagQuery, sometimes I got return of the data and other times no, I get an error:
com.sap.Illuminator.logging.LHException: No valid tags requested
Does anyone know what might be happening?

Danilo Santos
Hello Mike,
We are using the following versions:
SAP MII 12.0.4 Build(120)
SAP NetWeaver 2004 / 7.0
UDS 2.5.04
The historian is PI - OSISoft
see the below complete error in log netweaver
Full Message Text
*** MISSING RESOURCE: Unable to localize com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException: com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException: com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException: No valid tags requested
You don't think the PI server or SAP MII server maybe overloaded?

Directory Services User/Role Validation concurrent request impact
we have the Java WF Mailer active and have users that receive WF notifications via email and the worklist. If we are are constantly running the Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation concurrent request, what will this do to them?
Thanks & Regards,
sreeThere should not be any impact on the notifications.
Please see (Questions On The "Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation" Program [ID 369279.1]) for how frequent you should run this concurrent program.

f:validator tag validatorId attribute doesn't resolve EL Expressions?
I have a set of custom validators that I've written to validate certain data types used in our application. I have tested all of them and verified that they all work. Now I want to display a data table showing a list of data input fields, each bound to an object of a different type. During the iteration the 'item' has a method called "getValidatorIdentifier()" which returns a String that is the ID of the validator registered in my faces_config.xml file. Using the following code, I want to set the validatorId dynamically for each inputText field in my data table.
<h:dataTable var="item" ..... >
<h:inputText id="itemValue"
required="#{item.required}"
value="#{item.relatedAsset.asset}">
<f:validator validatorId="#{item.validatorIdentifier}" /> <!-- PROBLEM?-->
</h:inputText>
</h:dataTable>
Now, when I hard-code the validatorId attribute to the registered validator ID, it works fine. When I try to use the EL expression, as in the above code, I get the following when I access the page:
java.lang.NullPointerException: Argument Error: One or more parameters are null.
com.sun.faces.application.ApplicationImpl.createValidator(ApplicationImpl.java:712)
javax.faces.webapp.ValidatorTag.createValidator(ValidatorTag.java:146)
javax.faces.webapp.ValidatorTag.doStartTag(ValidatorTag.java:109)
I looked in the O'Reilly JavaServer Faces book and it states that the validatorId attribute should accept an EL expression type of 'any', so I am assuming that the expression #{item.validatorIdentifier} should work.
Am I making a mistake here, or is there a bug I don't know about in the f:validator tag?
Thanks for your help.A little more information on this issue.
When I attempt to resolve the validatorId from the 'item' var (the variable in the data table iteration) I get the problem described in my first posting. Now if I create an outputText element simply to echo the value of item.validatorIdentifier, it displays the correct value that I would expect.
<f:validator validatorId="#{item.validatorIdentifier}" /> <!-- This fails with the error already described-->
<h:outputText value="#{item.validatorIdentifier}"/> <!-- this works just fine -->
Now, just to see if it was the EL, I modified the validator tag to use an EL expression bound to a getValidatorId() method in a managed bean class. In other words, when I'm NOT trying to resolve the validatorId from the iteration variable, an EL expression works.
<f:validator validatorId="#{myManagedBean.validatorId}" /> <!-- This works just fine-->
But, this is not a solution, since each element in my dataTable iteration needs to report to me what its validator ID should be. -
Hi,
I've written some custom validators to use custom messages and to implement simple cross-validation (such as, for example, a text field required only if a checkbox is checked).
I'm trying to use the validator tag from jsf core library. I need to pass some parameter to my validators: I've tryed with an attribute tag nested into the validator tag with no luck. Same using a parameter tag.
Do I must write a custom tag to pass parameters to the validator or can I use the core validator tag in some way ?
Thank you
AndreaIf you need to pass attributes you need to use a custom validator tag.

Minor IDE bug: property inspector for f:validator tags
Hi JDev team
Very minor IDE bug in the JDev 11g tech preview release.
If you open a web page with a f:validator tag, select the tag, look in the property inspector. In the selectors-groups (or categories) on the left hand side of the property inspector, the option "other" is showing, but there is also a selectable blank space above this that should be appropriate named.
Regards,
CM.Hi Liza, thanks for logging the bug.
Regards the Property Inspector, well you asked...... ;)
I can see why you've gone for the new look and feel, it does look better.
One caveat though. On my 24 inch monitor, with the property inspector by JDev's pref on bottom of the screen, the fields are stretched all the way across the screen pointlessly wasting screen real-estate .... always a problem in JDev. So I move the property palette back to its more traditional spot on the right hand side of the screen.
As a side window, it doesn't currently "squash" properly. I've uploaded an image for you to see what I mean. Poplists don't seem to shrink properly in some cases. And in some cases the same with fields. It also appears labels take preference in size to fields, to the detriment fields disappear.
http://members.iinet.net.au/~chriscmuir/SquashedPI.png
Anyway, just my $0.02 worth.

CM. -
Hi All
I have created a validation, but I didn't got the transport request no.
Please let me know how to transfer the transport the validation or how to create the transport reqest for my validation.
Best regards
MadhaviHi
Keep the cursor on validation you created (Not on step ,validation may have number of steps ex:-step 001 ,step 002 etc..) and from the menu select Validation-> Transport. Select all the check boxes and execute.Then it will prompt for new Request creation.
After creating the Request go to SE09 to move the same to Quality server.Once it is moved to Quality Run the program RGUGBR00 to generate the ABAP Code for validation in Quality.The same need to be done in Production also.
Also i can say you , we can generate a transport request no. for the validation only but not for step.
So the same transport number will be valid for all the steps in the validation.
Hence we cant create a transport request no. for a step.
Regards
Venkat

Hi Guys!
When I saved a request type "Modify Account" which atribute is change_account , the system log show me the next error : "no service level values are found for request attributes, it could be a new account o modify account " but the system still create the request....
In request type "New Account" I `ve defined the atribute new_account.
Do you have any idea what is my issue?
Thanks a lot !"How do I pass the selected option back to my controller servlet for use in the next function?"
If by this you mean how do I set it up so the next request from the page served up by the servlet contains the selected option, perhaps you need to use the type=hidden attribute of the <input> tag. If you include a section like...
<INPUT TYPE=hidden
NAME="selectedoption"
VALUE="hisselection">
When he submits a new request to your servlet you can capture the selected value again. Or you could store it in a session variable.
In gerneral it works like this...
User hits your web page
Your servlet processes the request and serves up some html.
User sees html you served up.
User responds to page by viewing and/or submitting a new request via a link or button.
If the link is to your page, or the button activates a form pointed at your page, your servlet gets another request and the cycle continues.
Exaclty where in this process are you losing the value of the type of sighting? -
Validation: tag name "embed" not found
When I run the validation in DW8, I get an "error" of: The

The offending line created by DW8 when I drag a swf file onto

Does anyone know if this is bad, good, indifferent, or how to
stop that problem?

Validation during request workflow
Hello,
During the request workflow, we would like to make comments mandatory when rejecting a request.
I added the validation :
<Validation>
<cond>
<notnull><ref>:variables.comments</ref></notnull>
<null/>
<s>A comment is mandatory when rejecting a request.</s>
</cond>
</Validation>This validation is checked only when pushing the "Reject" button, meaning that when a person approves a request (by pushing the "Approve" button), the validation is by-passed. Do you know why the validation code is executed only when rejecting the form ?
Second question : when the user is on the "Awaiting approvals" form, he can check the boxes of the approvals he wants to reject or approve without going through the approval form. This way, the check we have added on the comments when rejected is not done. Is there a way to disable the mean to approve/reject directly ?Yes, you can use a RequestDataValidator (implemented as a plugin and configured in the Request Dataset) to perform validation on a request. If in that code you throw a InvalidRequestDataException it will reject the request with an error displayed. See metalink artilce [ID 1317087.1].

Blank header appears when validating leave request from the UWL
Hello,
We are using SAP Portal 7.3 and BP_ERP5MSS 1.51 SP06 according note oss 1618269 with a backend ECC6 EHP5 SPS06.
We are facing the following issue :: "Leave Request Approval screen is poping with blank header".
This issue occurs when launching the task TS21500003 from the UWL of the manager trying to validate a leave request.
See these screenshots,
[http://s14.postimage.org/dponkbsoh/UWL_issue_1.jpg]
[http://s9.postimage.org/7si0vfa7j/UWL_issue_2.jpg]
From NWA and Log traces we can find, but it is not sure it is relevant (due to some other iview not set yet) :
error : "Item with external id :<000000005010> and system id: <SAP_UWL >: Problem in performing action <markAsLaunched>: Unknown action: <markAsLaunched>-"
warning : "com.sap.security.api.NoSuchUserException: The given id " "is not a unique id of a user!"
We tried to follow some recommandations :
- Tx SWFVISU / Task TS21500003
- DYNPARAM = LRF_REQUEST_ID=${item.REQUESTID}
- and from portal : "Universal Worklist - Administration" / "my system alias" / Re-Register
- and clear cache
=> without success.
we tried :
- role : SAP_MANAGER_MSS_NWBC and SAP_ALL
- we assigned this role or this profile at our user test
=> without success.
we find :
- Note 1600953 : Modifications to UWL configuration file in BP MSS Add-On 1.0
=> but we didn't setup this Add-On, so we think this note is not relevant for us.
to investigate :
We have also tried to copy and past the XML indicated in note 1600953 for task TS21500003 and it did not solve the issue. We then came back to our initial XML.
We have configured the SAP_WebDynpro_XSS as indicated but we still face he same issue :
- when trying to open the task in the UWL, a pop up with a blank header opens.
- when using the iview com.sap.pct.erp.mss.leave_request_approval, the system opens directly a leave request without showing the list of requests assigned to the manager.
Find step by step in this word document and the UWL information trace :
http://www.filedropper.com/issueuwl20120217
Thanks in advance for your help,
Regards,
RodolpheHi,
thanks for your answer, we still have the issue.
We have tried to change the Web AS setting from ABAP to Java but same error message :

warning : "com.sap.security.api.NoSuchUserException: The given id " "is not a unique id of a user!"

I believe that may be caused by the fact that the payload is empty (<inbuf></inbuf>). The gateway is very strict on that...

Hello,
dreamweaver should havea box for the title tag or when you add an alt tag to an img Dreamweaver should automatically add the title tag with the same information of the alt tag.
Is this supported? is there any update or extension for this?
ThanksThe difference is completely explained on the W3C website, but in a nutshell -
* the alt attribute's value is only shown when the local browser has been configured to NOT fetch images. If this is the case, you will actually see the alt attribute's content on the page in the place where the image would normally be shown. This display is not a timed display - as long as you are looking at the page, the alt attribute's contents will be shown. In addition, the alt attribute's value is read by a screen reader to describe the image (which obviously cannot be seen). The alt attribute and its value, therefore, is an accessibility enhancement. I don't believe it serves any other function.
* the title attribute's value is shown as a 'tooltip' on the screen as you hover over the image with the pointer. It is intended to contain information about the FUNCTION of the image, not a description of the image, for example "click to see an enlargement". It has no accessibility function, but can be used by Search Engines to garner information about the page and its mission. The display of this information is timed - the tooltip will disappear after a few seconds.
I believe that is the primary difference between them.
So, if that is what you meant in your original post, I don't think it's a desirable thing to always have the same information in each. Notwithstanding that, I do believe I recall an extension for earlier versions of DW that would do this - have you looked on the Adobe Exchange? -
Register a Custom Validator Tag library
is there an alternate way to register validators and converters without the use of the applications faces-config ? Is there a way to have extra faces-config with all the validators stored in a jar?
yes. create you own faces-config.xml with validators and converters and put it into META-INF folder of your jar file.

UDS 4.0 once again: Could not add "DB11.DBB6" to the response list.
Hi,
once again we have heavy trouble with UDS 4.0 connecting to a SINUMERIK OPC server.
Unfortunately the OPC server does not support browsing. GroupList and TagList returns nothing.
The facts:
- MII 12 on Windows Server 2003
- UDS 4.0 SP1 on same server.
- OPC connectivity has been tested with Matrikon Explorer. Tag has been added manually (remember, browsing not possible).
- Creating UDS instance works. UDS can see remote OPC server and is able to create an instance from it.
- Data server has been created in MII 12 to connect to UDS.
- Connection status to UDS is ok. Can also be seen as Debug file shows query details.
- TagQuery has been created with adding the tag manually (browsing not possible).
When we try to test the query we always get the error message
Could not add "DB11.DBB6" to the response list.
and
No Tag selected
The strange thing ist that, if we use a non existing tag like "test123" then the same error occurrs instead of "No valid tags requested".
Here you can find the debug file of UDS:

The Debug file is from a Windows XP Professional system. But the same thing happens with the UDS installed
on Windows Server 2003 (x64).
The following config variations have been tried:
- synchronous / asynchronous
- Cache mode "None"
- Threading model STA / MTA
Any suggestions?
Regards,
MatthiasHi Mathais,
I assume you have installed the OPC enum services in the same machine where xMII UDS is running.
Also make sure that the browsing mode is set to true in the OPC Server.
We had the same issue...and were receiving the same error...but once we changed teh Browing mode at teh OPC server to true, tag quesries started working....
Hope it helps...

Request Data Validator is not working
Hi Guys,
I am trying to invoke a plugin while submitting a request through CATALOG in OIM 11gR2. The user case i am trying to achieve is - (1) User/Admin login to OIM and go to CATALOG option (2) Select an Application instance, fill the values in the form and checkout (3) While submitting this validator should invoke which will validate the request data and throw exception if any.
For this i was thinking to utilize the plugin for oracle.iam.request.plugins.RequestDataValidator "This is used for custom validation of request data after submission"
My plugin.xml looks like
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<oimplugins>
<plugins pluginpoint="oracle.iam.request.plugins.RequestDataValidator">
<plugin pluginclass="com.test.oim.TestRequestValidator" version="1.0" name="TestReqValidator">
</plugin>
</plugins>
</oimplugins>
And i am using simple code as below
package com.test.oim;
import oracle.iam.request.exception.InvalidRequestDataException;
import oracle.iam.request.plugins.RequestDataValidator;
import oracle.iam.request.vo.RequestData;
+public class TestRequestValidator implements RequestDataValidator {+
+public TestRequestValidator() {+
super();
+}+
+public void validate (RequestData reqDta) throws InvalidRequestDataException{+
System.out.println("************************************************");
System.out.println("***Justification***" reqDta.getJustification());+
throw new InvalidRequestDataException(new Exception("Invalid User"));
+}+
+}+
My plugin directory contains the plugin.xml file and the jar file (with above class) under lib directory. I placed the zip file under OIM_HOME/Plugin directory and even restarted the servers.
However this code is not invoking and i can successfully create the request (i tried from user and admin both). Please advise if anyone has any idea. ThanksHi Duncan,
I have mapped the DataSet validator element in my plugin.xml file
+<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>+
+<oimplugins>+
+<plugins pluginpoint="oracle.iam.request.plugins.RequestDataValidator">+
+<plugin pluginclass="com.test.oim.OIMREQValidate" version="1.2" name="OIMREQValidate">+
+<metadata name="Data Validator">+
+<value>AssignRolesDataSet|ModifyUserDataset</value>+
+</metadata>+
+</plugin>+
+</plugins>+
+</oimplugins>+
Still my request data validator is not getting invoked. I can successfully create the request. (Per this validator every request should fail and logs should getting logged). My validate method code is below
+public void validate (RequestData reqDta) throws InvalidRequestDataException{+
RequestLogger.LOGGER.logp(Level.WARNING, "OIMREQValidate", "validate", "CALLING THE CUSTOM PLUGIN");
System.out.println("***Justification***" reqDta.getJustification());+
throw new InvalidRequestDataException(new Exception("Invalid User"));
+}+
