NoInitialContextException when I try to lookup my ConnectionFactory

Hello everyone,
I'm now working on a small project using JMS, and I have installed the last version of JDK 6 Update 17 With J2EE.
try{
     Context jndiContext = new InitialContext();
     connectionFactory = (ConnectionFactory)jndiContext.lookup("jms/ConnectionFactory");
     queue = (Queue)jndiContext.lookup("jms/queue");
}catch(NamingException exc){
     System.err.println("Lookup Object failed");
     exc.printStackTrace();
     System.exit(1);
... ... ...When I tried to run the program above, I got a NoInitialContextException at the line : Context jndiContext = new InitialContext() . The full error message is:
{color:#0000ff}

I have created a javax.jms.ConnectionFactory and a javax.jms.Queue in the Glassfish Admin Consle -> Resources -> JMS Resources -> Connection Factories / Destinations Resources, and I have also added the appserv-rt.jar and javaee.jar into CLASSPATH. But my program still doesn't work.
I have tried to get my connection factory with the annotations @Resource, but it doesn't work either.
Si I'm "lookup" someone who could debug this program for me,
Greetings

  • Issues when we try to lookup for EJB using T3 protocol

    Hi,
    We have EJB's deployed in Weblogic server and we are trying to invoke them using T3 protocol.
    We are facing problem as its giving the following exception
    javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: t3://170.0.10.45:7685: Bootstrap to dev2.test.zone/170.0.10.45:7685 failed. It is likely that the remote side declared peer gone on this JVM];
    We tried to enable HttpTunneling in Weblogic server but it did not work.
    Could anyone suggest solution for this at the earliest. Not sure whether this is a cluster issue .

    The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
    Are you putting in the address where the bank sends the monthly statement?
    Apple's servers are very picky about the format of the address. If you live in the USA, then the server is expecting the style that the US Postal Service uses. One way to do this is to use the USPS ZIP Code lookup service;
    https://tools.usps.com/go/ZipLookupAction!input.action
    Enter the address to look up the ZIP code and then copy the exact USPS output into your iTunes account information.

  • When clicking on a lookup, firefor does not allow me to select from the list

    When I use firefox, the website I am on has lookup fields located on it, firefox does not allow me to select my preferred option from the list. also when I slect another lookup from a list it displays the message 'invalid lookup value located in field ......'
    This does not happen in IE

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • ORA-00001 When I try and create an interactive query/report

    Interactive report in APEX 3.2
    I have a query like this that does a country lookup
    based on the physical address and the mailing address.
    The query executes fine through SQL plus but when I try and create
    an interactive report I get
    ORA-00001: unique constraint (APEX_030200.WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_COLUMNS_UK2) violated
    Here's the query
    select     "TAX_VENDORS"."VENDOR_ID" as "VENDOR_ID",
         "TAX_VENDORS"."VENDOR_NAME" as "VENDOR_NAME",
         "TAX_COUNTRY"."ABBREVIATION" as "ABBREVIATION",
         "TAX_COUNTRY_1"."ABBREVIATION" as "ABBREVIATION"
    from     "TAX_COUNTRY" "TAX_COUNTRY_1",
         "TAX_COUNTRY" "TAX_COUNTRY",
         "TAX_VENDORS" "TAX_VENDORS"
    where "TAX_VENDORS"."PHYSICAL_COUNTRY"="TAX_COUNTRY"."TAX_COUNTRY_ID"
    and     "TAX_VENDORS"."MAILING_COUNTRY"="TAX_COUNTRY_1"."TAX_COUNTRY_ID"
    I've narrowed it down to the double lookup if you will of the country for the
    mail/physical address.
    Is this not allowed? Is there a work around?

    Thanks Tony
    A closer look at the constraint reveals this - so maybe it's seeing the TAX_COUNTRY_ID twice I would guess where the alias is not accounted for.
         CONSTRAINT "WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_COLUMNS_UK2" UNIQUE ("WORKSHEET_ID", "DB_COLUMN_NAME")
    Your query yielded me the same result
    select TV.VENDOR_ID as VENDOR_ID,
    TV.VENDOR_NAME as VENDOR_NAME,
    TC.ABBREVIATION as ABBREVIATION,
    TC_1.ABBREVIATION as ABBREVIATION
    from TAX_VENDORS TV
    JOIN TAX_COUNTRY TC ON (TV.PHYSICAL_COUNTRY = TC.TAX_COUNTRY_ID)
    JOIN TAX_COUNTRY TC_1 ON (TV.MAILING_COUNTRY=TC_1.TAX_COUNTRY_ID)

  • I'm getting the below issue when I try to deploy a report with Dynamic parameters, when I deploy it with static parameters I'm not getting this issue.

    I’m getting the below issue when I try to deploy a crystal report with Dynamic parameters in BI Launch Pad, when I deploy the same report with static parameters I can deploy and run it. I have Restarted the BI server, still the issue exitno use. kindly help me on this issue.
    “This error occurred: Adding Crystal Report "CrystalReport1.rpt" failed. The server with kind rptappserver returned an error result. Failed to copy the report file to the report object. Refreshing the report object properties might have failed. Failed to read data from report file CrystalReport1. Reason: Failed to read parameter object”.

    BO does not run dynamic params through the report as would happen without BusinessObjects (BO) or Crystal Reports Server (CRS).  When you publish a report with dynamic parameters to BO/CRS, the prompt is published to the repository so that it can be accessed through the Business View Manager (which can be installed as part of the client tools).  In order for this to work a couple of things need to happen:
    1.  You need to be sure that you check the "Update Repository" box on the Save As screen the first time you publish the report.
    2.  Your BO/CRS user needs to have "view" access to the Crystal2013ReportApplicationServer in the Servers section in the CMC - in fact, the Everyone group should be given view access to the server in order for dynamic prompts to work correctly.
    3.  In the Business View Manager, the Administrator user needs to give your user, or, even better, a Crystal Developers group full control access to the "Dynamic Cascading Prompts" folder.
    Best practice for dynamic prompts in a BO/CRS environment is to actually create the prompts in the Business View Manager.  This will allow you to create a single data connection that can be reused and also create lists of values such that the same list or prompt can be reused by multiple reports.  If you just create the prompts in Crystal, you will end up with multiple data connections to the same database, the prompts will use the whole query for the reports to get the dynamic values instead of just a focused query to the lookup table that contains the values, and there ends up being lots of duplication and chaos.

  • Error occurs when applet tries to lookup WL RMI class

    For our project, we are using Netscape Enterprise Server for our html
    server, and Web Logic as our RMI, EJB, JSP server. I'm trying to get an
    applet running that lookups a WL RMI class. Becuase of the required
    "import weblogic.rmi.*;" call in the applet, i basically moved all the
    files from the weblogic\classes directory to the directory in the web
    server's codebase. I updated the startWL.cmd file to support this.
    However, when i try to run the applet i get a ClassDefNotFound error for
    "javax.naming.NamingException." Shouldn't this be included in the Java
    2 Plug-In? I also noticed that this class file is inside the
    weblogicaux.jar file. However, being almost 10 MB in size, i certainly
    do not want to include the entire jar file into my applet as it would
    take an eternity for the applet to download. Is there anyway around
    this?? Has anyone else ran into this or similar problems??
    I know what some of you may be thinking, but our customer, the Dept. Of
    Defense, requires the web server to be Netscape's Enterprise Server.
    And our CEO has required us to use WebLogic. So, if this can be
    resolved via Netscape Enterprise Server, please let me know about that
    as well.
    Thank you,
    Randy Strobel
    [email protected]

    I hate to break the bad news to you, but you would need to include all of
    WebLogicaux.jar to make this work.
    If you would like to use applets, I suggest using HTTP to call servlets, not
    RMI.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    weblogicaux.jar file.
So, if this can be
    resolved via Netscape Enterprise Server, please let me know about that
    as well.

  • My Excel with PowerPivots acts weird, it hangs when i try to change font color

    Hi
    I am facing a weird issue using PowerPivot in my workbook, there is a worksheet named Charts in my workbook and all the charts i am using resides in that worksheet. Whenever i try to change the font color in that sheet, my excel's color palette goes blur
    and then everything just freezes and turns black. This problem is happening only with Charts worksheet, when i try to change the color in other sheets, it works just, the problem is only with Charts sheet. File
    size is 16 MB, there are just 10 pivot tables with some calculations and some calculated fields. There are no add-ins other than PowerPivot.
    Thanks,
    Shanker

    Hi,
    In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
    Do you receive any error message?
    Which Excel version are you using?  Excel 2013 or other?
    Which workbook format are you using? XLS or XLSX?
    Are you performing any specific task?
    According to your description, this issue seems only occur with the special worksheet "Charts".
    Firstly, I recommend we copy all of the content to a new/blank Excel file to test.
    If it works fine, this issue might be caused by the "Charts" workbook itself. We'd better check the "Charts" workbook. Or re-build the file with a new workbook.
    If it still makes Excel hang with a new file, this issue might due to the content. Please check the content first.
    Secondly, we could follow below KB to troubleshoot this issue:
    https://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2758592/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0
    Thirdly, if the issue still exists, we may try to collect the Event log and App crash dump file to do advanced troubleshooting.
    Event log:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-Event-Viewer
    App crash dump file:
    First enable app crash dump collection by copying following words into notepad, saving it as dump.reg and importing
    it:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\localdumps\EXCEL.EXE]
    "DumpFolder"=hex(2):63,00,3a,00,5c,00,63,00,72,00,61,00,73,00,68,00,64,00,75,\
      00,6d,00,70,00,73,00,00,00
    "DumpCount"=dword:00000010
    "DumpType"=dword:00000001
    "CustomDumpFlags"=dword:00000000
    Then, open Excel
    to repro the issue. If crash issue appeared, please find the crashdump file under c:\.
    To further help you, please upload this file into Skydrive and shared the link here.
    Also, you can try to analyze dump by yourself if you would like to:

  • HT1925 I get a message saying The feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is unavalable when I try to open iTunes.

    When I try to open iTunes a widow appears called Windows Installer.  It tells me that the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavalable.  It tell me to Click OK or try again or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the intallation package iTunes.msi.  I suggests I should find this in a drop down box in the window.  There is a box but no folder iTunes.msi.  If I click the cancel button iTunes will open and work. I wish to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall it.  I am finding that I can play music on iTunes OK through my sound card but if I try to play streamed music from the web in YouTube and fom My Space the music is a poor quality with crackles and distortion. Other forums suggest uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing it.  I ahve tried to uninstall iTunes but it comes up with the Window noted above and then stops.  I need to stop the crackle when streaming music. Please help.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Help, I had aperture open and working on a image and did not have a battery in and bumped the power off. As a result it will not open my master, it is locked. when I try to open that Library  it says There was an error opening the database for the library. I have tried every thing. I updated the other libr but now it will not open the main to update. What do I do?

    Try starting Aperture with the command and option keys held down.  You'll get 3 options.
    Try each, starting at the top, in order, checking after each to see if it fixes the issue.

    Hello, I really need your help. When I try to open firefox, nothing happens or it will open a really small and empty window in the top corner of my laptop. Could you see whether Firefox will start in its Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
    Here's how:
    With Firefox closed, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox.
    A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Does that work?

    Hi Steadyalberta,
    Something might be preventing Photoshop from being able to save your selection on the dialog window properly. You might try right clicking and choose Run as Administrator on the Photoshop icon when launching (Windows) or test if the behavior persists when using a newly created admin user account.
    Hope that helps,
