Nokia 5800: cannot open messages, error when start...

In the last day, I've had an issue with my 5800 whereby when a new text message arrives, I am not able to open it fully. It seems stuck in the inbox. This has happened about 3 times.
I restarted the phone and got this message:
"Unable to install from memory card. Go to application manager" (or something like that).
I went to the application manager, but there was nothing in there.
When I went back to the messages inbox, all messages (inbox, draft, sent) were gone.
I've tried changing back and forth between the phone (C and memory card (E drives, but nothing is showing.
Any advice would be more than helpful. Thanks.

Hi, may also help if once you've cleared all messages if you go to options in messaging and select other, memory in use; select E:Mass memory, or F: Memory Card . Sorry if you're already aware of this, but it does help, also , after using usb cable always check this setting as , for some unknown reason, phone reverts to C, after being connected to computer! If there are messages you may need, sync with ovi, before deleteing. Hope this helps.
Good Luck

  • Cannot open message catalog when invoked through JNI

    Hello there.
    I'm having the following problem:
    I've coded a simple workstation tuxedo client (tuxedo version 9.1) that uses a couple of services. When I compile it as an executable and run it everything works fine, with no issues. However, when compiled as a dynamic library and invoked from JAVA via JNI, all functionalities operate correctly (the client connects to the server and invokes the services without a hitch), except that in the event of an error, when I invoke the function tpstrerror(), the following error is returned instead of the proper error description:
    NLS:4: Cannot open message catalog LIBWSC_CAT, set 1, num 1142; check TUXDIR=/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1, LANG=C
    I've checked and re-checked the environment variables. I now include the values for those I think could be relevant to the issue, printed in the C code, obtained with the getenv() function.
    These are the values printed when run as an executable:
    TUXDIR=/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1
    LANG=en_US.UTF-8
    PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games:/usr/java/jdk1.5.0_06/bin:/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1/bin
    NLSPATH=/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1/locale/C
    And these when run as a dynamic library invoked from Java code:
    TUXDIR=/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1
    LANG=en_US.UTF-8
    PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games:/usr/java/jdk1.5.0_06/bin:/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1/bin
    NLSPATH=/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1/locale/C:/usr/dt/lib/nls/msg/%L/%N.cat
    The only difference is marked in bold, but I don't think it matters much (don't know what is appending that extra value to the variable though).
    I've tried setting LANG=C and NLSPATH=/home/adrian/bea/tuxedo9.1/, with no luck. Is there maybe a native library that has to be included in order to open the message catalogs that is not in TUXDIR/lib?
    I'd highly appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction here.
    Thank you in advance for taking the time to read the post.
    Regards.

    Haven't entirely given up on solving this "the right way", but implemented a partial solution that is of some help nonetheless. Check out the following thread if by some cruel whim of fate you're having this same problem:

  • "Cannot Open File" error when generating CHM

    Hello,
    We have a small help file that we have in our source control
    (StarTeam), and it's built on a daily basis. It hasn't been updated
    in quite a while, so it was a surprise that it suddenly generated
    the following error during the weekend build:
    Cannot open the file
    "b:\Document\HelpFile\!SSL!\Microsoft_HTML_Help\!chm_tmp_folder_0\HelpFile.hhc".
    The CHM is normally built by running RH 7 via a command line
    in StarTeam. I tested it today by running it manually and received
    the same error. When I click "OK" on the error message, it
    continues building and finishes with the normal "view/close"
    message.
    Anyone have an idea as to what may have caused this issue?
    The immediate puzzle is to what changed that would have caused this
    error, as we haven't updated this help file in several months (so
    there shouldn't be any changes within the help file).
    And to pre-empt the usual first response, we have a copy of
    RH 7 on the build machine itself, so it shouldn't be a "running
    over a network" issue. ;*)

    Quick update: I had the chance today to check out the files
    and build them locally on my machine with my copy of RH7.
    It appears to build normally for me, and I'm not getting the
    error message being generated on the build machine.
    This leads me to think something on the machine has changed,
    but I'm still at a loss as to what it might possibly be.

  • Ulimit "cannot modify limit" error when starting Apache

    This isn't exactly an OSX Server problem, but I am trying to start Apache and subsequently Tomcat on my MacBook Pro so I can locally test a website before I deploy it to our test server. (The MacBook is a new machine to which I recently migrated my setup from my old PowerBook. The PowerBook is running 10.4.11, FWIW, and all worked well there.)
    When I do this from the command line:
    sudo /Library/Apache2/bin/apachectl start
    I get:
    /Library/Apache2/bin/apachectl: line 70: ulimit: open files: cannot modify limit: Invalid argument
    And Apache is not started. This runs fine on my old machine. The culprit line from apachectl is:
    ULIMITMAXFILES="ulimit -S -n `ulimit -H -n`"
    Just running the'ulimit -H -n' yields 'unlimited'.
    What's the problem here, and how do I fix it? I haven't found the answer by Googling.

    Back up all data.
    Select
    Shell ▹ New Command
    from the Terminal menu bar. Copy and paste the following line into the text box that opens:
    mkdir disabled_shell_files; mv .profile .bash* $_
    Your old shell initialization and history files will be saved in a directory with the indicated name at the top level of your home directory. Test.

  • PDF created in CS6 now produces a "Cannot Open File" error when I try to reopen it :(

    I created a file in Illustrator CS6 (v. 16.0.0), and saved it as an (editable) PDF. When I try to reopen that same PDF inside Illustrator CS6, however, I get a "Could Not Open The File" error.
    The file opens in Acrobat just fine, but I need to continue editing/working on it.  Opening it in 5.1 works but it's all flat and not ideal for editing.  Renaming the extension to .eps or .ai didn't work, either. I also looked into potential font conflicts (none) and restarted my Mac (OS 10.7.5) to no avail.
    Thoughts/suggestions most welcome!

    Illustrator is not designed to be a pdf editor, so save a .ai file backup always.
    A restart, as you did, of Illustrator or your mac will allow you to open the .pdf, or resetting your font cache with fontnuke.
    Update to 16.04, and especially check if acrobat needs updating.
    I have had and so have others problems with making .pdfs if you do not have a printer chosen, usually you get an error could not save .pdf but check you have a printer chosen in system preferences >> Print & Scan .

  • Switch error : error when starting a switch branch

    Hello,
    I'm facing an issue on a simple switch :
    I have the following condition : &change& = X or &molga& = AE
    when the two conditions are OK, the WF is OK, but :
    when the second part is false (example : molga = 14 or molga = EG), the WF fails and I have this message : "error when starting a switch branch". I don't understand why knowing that the element "molga" is defined in the WF container as T500P-molga !
    Many thanks,
    Karim

    Hi,
    I think both the conditions are failing, &Change& ne 'X' and &molga& ne AE. So the WKF will be going into error and says, "error when starting a switch branch". Please make sure you have other branches in the switch conditon step, to handle if both conditions failed. So WKF will take that branch.

  • NLS:4: Cannot open message catalog LIBWSC_CAT, set 1, num 1037 error

    HI,
    I am getting this error when the client (Powerbuilder) sits idle for some time after performing few operation.
    NLS:4: Cannot open message catalog LIBWSC_CAT, set 1, num 1037
    The error is logged on Client side ULOG; the server side ULOG does not have any error .
    Thanks@

    Hi,
    My guess is that you have a firewall between your client and the Tuxedo system that is timing out the connection.  The error is network error.  Try looking at the -K option for the workstation listener WSL.

  • Issue: Cannot open message catalog LIBTUX_CAT

    Hello

    I googling for a while but could not get a clue to solve this.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    J

    Hi J,
    Sorry, I'm still not following. When you say:
    "2 - My service receives the call and calls to another webservice in a AS/400 using Tuxedo."
    Are you saying you've written a Tuxedo service that makes a Web Service call to another Tuxedo service running on an AS/400 system? Let me try and ask some specific questions:
    "1 - I call my webservice using SOAP UI"
    What SOAP client are you using? Where is the Web Service you are calling running and what's it running under?
    "3 - Inside the AS/400 that receives the call there is a TR application that calls a Listener Service that calls a cobol application."
    What is a TR application?
    In any case, as I said, the error you are getting is a TPESYSTEM error which should result in an entry being made in the Tuxedo ULOG file.

  • Cannot open document (Error: INF)

    We have migrated reports from version Business Objects 6.5.1 to Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2. We have been receiving sporadic 'Cannot open document (Error: INF)' now and again whenever you open Desktop Intelligence reports using Infoview. Have any other users come across this issue using BOXI 3.1 SP2. I do not believe that this issue occurred on SP1.
    This error is very frustrating.
    I have browsed various forums and implemented changes which have had no effect whatsoever including the SAP Marketplace.
    We are also receiving SetPrompts Failed errors. When a report is opened in Infoview and you refresh a report, a blank dialog appears with a red cross. if you refresh the report again then the SetPrompts Failed error appears. I have evene made changes according to article 1364437 based on this error and this has not resolved the issue.

    We're on BOXI3.1 SP2 aswell and we have had the same sporadic issue - Cannot open document for Deski reports. This is causing some serious concern amongst our users over system stability.
    You can recreate the situation by shutting down the InputFileRepository server and you get the same message. I've noticed that when this happens there is a mesage in the fcproc log file 'm_repFileMgr.Download failed'
    My theory is that there may be some congestion in linking between the desktopintelligence server and the inputfilerepository. In addition, we had some logging on the fileserver and at the time of the error there was no mention of the report that failed or any error. We contacted SAP about this but did not get a satisfactory response. There were some heavily utilised DESKi reports which we managed to convert to Webi to take the load off and we also dropped the timeout to 20 minutes (not brilliant but it did mean that if we got the message the users wouldn't have to wait too long before it was resolved in case they couldn't get hold of IT).
    I also upped the parameter for Maximum Retries for File Access in case it was having problems getting the file.
    The result of this was that the error appeared to go away... until yesterday!!!
    Any further insights welcome.
