Nokia 5800XM screen goes CRAZY!

My Nokia 5800 XM had this problem, a weird problem. First my phone battery only have 2 bars left. Then decide to charge the phone (phone switched off before charging), then when I connected the charger to my phone & start charging. Then again after about 3 or 4 hours of charging the screen display a NOKIA logo which is normally when the phone charging begins & the battery bars raise up many times. Then after that I looked at my phone back, suddenly when I want to switch ON, the phone also normally display NOKIA logo, then I waited it LONG.................TIME to display the home screen BUT NOTHINGS HAPPEND! untill 6 - 8 hours also NOTHINGS HAPPEND. Just like I sayed just now IT ONLY DISPLAY NOKIA LOGO. I think you guys wait untill you all DIED also it will only display NOKIA LOGO. Sometimes the screen display a black screen and some glowing colors (red, orange, green, blue, pink, purple, yellow - are displayed in lines glowing). Weird :-0
Please anyone who faced this problem reply me back or anyone who had this solution reply me about this problem. I've try many ways to fix this problem such as hard reset press Green + Red + Camera Shutter + Switch On, But nothings happend. I've also try to remove the battery & wait for 1 hour.

Hey dude!!! I know your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic pain killer!!! I had the same prob as u, when I switch my phone on, just Nokia logo appears & nothing happens, there are 2 ways to cure ur phone! 1st. before switching ur phone on, remove the Memory Card & then turn on ur phone. It 100 persent works but when u turn ur phone on again, the same prob appears again!!! 2nd. is before turning ur phone on, change ur Simcard & then switch ur phone on!!! I know it sounds silly but imazingly it works!!! After u switch ur phone on, ur phone will work nice & then u can change ur simcard again & put ur favorite one into & always work without any prob!!!                                                                                                              I hope it helps u & be useful! If ur phone became good, please send me a message me to know it works on ur phone 2!!!

  • Iphone 5C wifi greyed out and screen going crazy

Hi I bought my iPhone back in October in Us from Tmobile, since December the wifi greyed out and hasn't worked once (been living on data) now recently the screen goes crazy, it types by its self unlocks the phone (dont have a password) sometimes calls people etc... now the thing is I recently moved to Dubai and I cant go to a apple store as we do not have one here, so could I ship my phone to States and have apple repair it or give me a replacement if I pay for their shipping costs back to Dubai ? Thanks for any help I can get

If not jailbroken, restore the iOS. Most likely there is a hardware problem
The warranty is valid only in the USA.  Apple will not accept shipment from or ship to any address outside the USA for this phone.

  • My touch screen goes crazy when rain drops fall on it

When I operate my phone in rain my touchscreen responds to the rain drops. My touchscreen responds crazy when raindrops fall on it.

There are other threads concerning this, for example:

  • My iphone screen goes crazy when it charges

    Hey there,
Whenever I charge my iPhone my screen goes crazy when I touch it. If i'm typing whilst its charging it clicks random things and deleted what i've typed. The phone works completely fine when its not charging and I haven't had any other problems with it. I have the iPhone 5c iOS 7.1.1 (about to update after this post).
If anyone could help me that would be great!
Ps. Someone posted a video and my phone does the same
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbsNCjbs-xg

I have the same exact problem and I use an Apple charger and lightning wire cord. Resetting the phone doesn't work and neither does shutting it off and turning it back on. It is infuriating to say the least, especially because this stupid phone spends more time on the charger than off. The battery is crap.

  • Iphone turns on for a moment screen goes crazy then shuts off

About a month or two ago I was using my brand new iPhone 3GS when all of a sudden the screen went black (backlight still on) then went crazy pixels everywhere sometimes overlapping each other then it shut off. I couldn't turn it on regularly so I waited till I got home and plugged it in, I then soft reset it and it turned back on, I had no problems until the next day it shut off in my pocket and once again I soft reset it. This happened for a few days until it finally would turn on, I'd get to the apple logo then the screen goes crazy and shuts off.
This thing has never seen water so I'm positive it isn't water damage. What could it be?

im taking it in today to see about getting it fixed, just wanted to see if there was any other way or if anyone else was having the same problem

  • Anyone having screen bugs with iOS 5?  it seems the tactile screen goes crazy in Apple iOS software, i tried reinstalling, but the same thing happens. NB iPhone 4

It seems the tactile screen goes crazy in Apple iOS software, I tried reinstalling iOS 5, but the same thing happens.  When I start typing, for wxample in messaging app, I'll press a letter, and several other letters are typed... and at times, the app just closes....
My issue is with iPhone 4.
    Thanks

    Issue confirmed.
I tried dialing in five times with each of the following settings:
Connecting on LTE (with no confirmation boop-boop tone that I'm on the 3G Extender):  the telecon login worked five out of five times.  This is impractical for me as I have wretched LTE signal where I live and it snaps hard over to 1x signal every 2-5 minutes and drops my call.  That's why I got an extender!
Connecting on 3G (after a #48 positive confirmation boop-boop tone that I'm on the 3G Extender):  telecon login worked zero out of five times.  I had stellar 3G signal, but the 'overdialing' DTMF problem was consistent and I was unable to connect to the telecon service.
Thanks for the quick reply.  What do we try next?

  • Nokia N81 8gb Screen goes crazy

ok so i buaght my Nokia N81 like in january last year and ive been using it quiet regularly....
Until today... I slid the phones slider to reveal the keys to write a text message, when the screen went crazy with funky colours and such lines and random things on the screen. If i slide it up and down while its like this it changes its effects and stuff as if its something to do with the contacts of the slider and the screen. If i let the screen black out into powersaver it returns normal but if i slide it again to close the phone or open it back up it goes nuts again.
i tried leaving the battery out but no use.
    LOTS OF HELP please ?
    i was thinking a factory reset ??

Hi! I have the same problem as well! And this is the SECOND time this is happening! The first time I took it back to my SP, and they then replaced it with a brand new handset; that was 10 months after using my phone for the first time. Now, 8 months after receiving my brand new handset, I have the same problem again!
What was very strange to me, before it first happened, was that my slider became REALLY tight and difficult to manouevre,  so I slid the screen up and down as it felt like there was something obstructing the slider, and out came a clear piece of sticky plastic film... I took no note of it, until the same thing happened to me about 2 weeks before my phone went wonky again. The funny thing is, my fiancé has the 2gb phone, and he seems to have no trouble at all with his handset, and he's now had his phone for more than a year (that's longer than I've had both of my handset before going crazy), so I'm thinking it must be a problem with the N81 8gb models. Now I need to take the phone back AGAIN, which I'm not very happy about... I don't want to have to take my phone back, or repair it, every 8 to 10 months... It's a waste of my time AND money.
Oh, and another thing... when they replaced my handset, I asked them what the problem was with my phone, and they said that they didn't know, but that they couldn't fix it! SERIOUSLY?! So now how exactly will I get to repair my phone if the Nokia technicians can't even find the problem NOR fix it?! I've basically spent ALL this money on a phone that only works for a few months until it's irrepairably broken... I don't think I'll be using another Nokia after this again...

  • Screen going crazy, pink horizontal lines, frequent random crashes?

    Hi all,
First post here... I felt compelled to post as usually Googling a problem will bring me to a solution from one of these discussions but in this case there are many similar instances of my problem but no-one seems to be able to offer an explanantion that fits my particular circumstances.
    I have a late 2011 MBP 15"
    Processor = 2.2 GHz i7
    Memory = 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics = Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    OS = OS X 10.9.2
Recently, my screen started randomly going crazy, all blocky and with horizontal pink lines all over. Then it would go either fully black or fully white. This usually happens when I open another tab or app. Sometimes it crashes and powers off. Sometimes it restarts.
If it powers off and I restart it or it restarts itself, the horizontal pink lines appear on the startup/spinning gear screen.
Then the screen goes fully white and the fans go crazy. Now it sometimes just stays hung like this and sometimes it powers off after about 3 minutes of crazy fans.
I switch it back on and it does the same thing.
It gets stuck in this loop for ages and often, if I just leave it and come back to it some other time, it powers up just fine however sometimes it will continue to refuse to power up.
If I try to boot into recovery mode, it blue screens.
If I try to boot into safe mode, it blue screens.
If I try diagnositics, it blue screens.
What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

I've had a similar issue with my mid-2012 13" non-retina MacBook Pro twice. First time I dropped it and it fell hard ( I mean it fell down a flight of stairs). It sounds like your graphics card and/or logic board and possibly the RAM sticks might have an issue. For me, a new logic board costs about $480 but Apple covered it twice since its less than a year old. Other issues I've had it would have a "checker-board" on startup and it would have a similar glitch when I would move it or set it down. It would also freeze and even shut down. I've also pulled it out of my bag, and it would be a lot hotter than when I put it in. I'd say set up a Genius Bar appointment or take it to a local certified apple service technician or if you really wanted to, setup an appointment and find out what's wrong and then repair it yourself, just make sure your data is backed up. I would suggest back it up to both iCloud and an external hard drive that can hold more data than the internal drive on your mac.

  • Nokia N8 screen goes black in sunlight

I have this peculiar problem. Whenever i make a call walking in broad daylight (exposing the screen to the light) the screen goes black and it takes sometime before i am able to hold or end that particular call. This happens only when i make a call under sunlight. I have tried closing/opening the light sensor near the top end of the phone, but no effect anyway. Why does this happen?

Finally, I think i have found the solution! I noticed that this problem always happens when I recieve a call with the handset in a locked state. So, when i pressed the lock key on the side of the handset (during a call with 'screen blackout'), the screen came alive again!
But, nokia should correct this bug. Hope this helps others...
That ain't a solution. It's a work around, but a very annoying one.
I have a question. When you swipe your nail on th screen from left to right or from the right to left and go over the frame, do you feel that the display is lower than the frame?
On flawless N8's, you shouldn't hang with your nail at the frame..
I say this is a hardware issue. I have two N8's and one has the same issue. Turning the Light Sensor down doesn't help. And the affected N8 has a display that is lower than the frame and you will hang at the frame with your nail when doing the swipe move on the display.

  • Nokia N8. Screen going off at random times after B...

I had belle for few weeks on my n8 now and I noticed very annoying issue. At completely random times screen goes off. It is not going off per settings. I have to lock the screen and then unlock it or else there is no response by touching it. I could be browsing web or checking email and it will go dark, it is not because of lack of activity.
    Any help ?

    Hi aim1999,
Have tried performing a soft reset or hard reset on the phone to see if it was a bad install?
To do Soft reset: Enter *#7780# into your phone's keypad
Note: this will not delete any data from the device.
To do a Hard reset: Enter *#7370#
Note: You will need to back up your data before you do this because it will erase all data from the phone.
If this still does not fix your problem, you may have to take the device into a Nokia Care Point for further inspection.
    Regards,
    haZey

  • Suddenly the screen goes crazy

I live in India and have just received my iPad 64 gb wifi model from the US.
My iPad suddenly goes crazy and automatically different parts of the screen are being pressed randomly.
To get rid of the problem I have to switch of the iPad fro the problem to stop. This problem occurs randomly.
I have attached the zagg Screen guard. my sister too has an iPad and has attached the screen guard but she is not facing any problem.
    Is the piece faulty?
    Is there a virus?
Pls help, because if I need the iPad to be replaced I will have to send it back to the united states. My brother brought the piece directly from the apple store.

I few other people have reported similar problems. At least one had their replaced when they went to an Apple and they say it misbehaving.
The first thing to do is to do a hard reset-
Reset iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same
time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Next would be a restore from backup from iTunes
The last would be restore to factory new condition via Itunes.
If none of those work then it is probably a hardware problem. If the Ipad has already been released in India then you should just be able to bring it to a local Apple Store

  • My MacBook Pro Beeps and the Screen Goes Crazy

I upgraded my RAM from 4GB to 8GB a couple months ago. Ever since then, my MacBook would freeze and the screen would get all weird and distorted, and then it continues to sound off three longish beeps. I can't do anything except hold down the power button until it shuts off. This only happens every couple of days. I'm thinking it's a RAM issue and I've already tried reseating the RAM, but it keeps happening. Anyone have any solutions? Maybe the RAM is faulty?

Wow. Every 5th thread is someone who has a problem with their screen going black since 10.6.8

  • Please help: When running video software, screen goes crazy

I am experiencing the following issue and have already taken my computer (under warranty) to the Genius Bar where they say nothing shows up as being wrong. They want to do further testing but I can't part with the laptop till the work week is over tomorrow night.
In the meantime, does anyone have a clue?
Here are videos of what's happening:
    http://s320.photobucket.com/albums/nn347/Rainbocarnage/?action=view&current=VID_ 20110616_155456.mp4
    http://s320.photobucket.com/albums/nn347/Rainbocarnage/?action=view&current=VID_ 20110616_115826.mp4
I comes on gradually with an all over "blink" and flicker before it freezes up and goes crazy. This only happens, so far, when I use a program called CatDV which is a footage cataloguing software I need at work.
Any ideas or suggestions? The genius bar did quick diagnostics and said everything passed and I updated all software/system updates already.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Backing up, Updating and Restoring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

When I open my MacBook the screen has crazy colours and lines.

To start AHT  please follow these instructions:
Press the power button to turn on your computer.
Press and hold the D key before the gray startup screen appears.
It takes a minute or so for AHT to start up and inspect your hardware configuration.
While this is taking place, an icon appears on the screen.
When the process is complete, select US language and click the right arrow.
You can also use the up and down arrows to select a language and then press the Return key.
The AHT console appears. You can choose which sort of test or tests to perform:
To perform all of the basic tests, click the Test button or press the "T" key or the Return key.
To perform a more thorough diagnostic test, select the "Perform extended testing" checkbox under the Test button before you click the Test button.
Note: Your test results will appear in the window in the bottom-right of the console.
To exit AHT, click Restart or Shut Down at the bottom of the window.
Some computers support the use of Apple Hardware Test AHT over the Internet.
