Nokia 6233 Managing groups

I have 6233....
while personalizing Profile there is one option
Alert for
1) All Calls
and group names are there
I have created 3 groups in my fone.
1) Friend
2) Family
3) Business
while personalizing the profile if i put
Alert for "Friend" and "Family" ticked
the phone rings only when the phone cames from the stored contacts in these 2 groups.
but I want to receive the phones from the numbers which are not stored in contacts (outside numbers)but the phone doesn't rings.
If i check the "All calls" box then the phone rings even if persons number stored in "Business group"(which is unchecked).
Can anybody help me to sort out this problem?

hmm..
the problem is.. you want your phone to give out a separate sound for the contacts within a specific contact group and a separate sound for all other contacts right?
Unfortunately, that can't be done with the process you gave above.
You see, once you set the tone for a specific group, you will only hear that tone for that group and you disable the tone for other contacts.
what you can do is to assign a tone for every contact. that is manually assigning tones for each contact that you want to have a different tone.
that will solve your problem

It sounds like your 5800 has the earpiece fault that was common with 5800's made before February.
You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair under warranty.

  • Please help....nokia 6233 and 6300 synchronisation...

hello there everyone , i used to have a nokia 6233 and i recently switched to 6300 , i tried to copy the list of contacts on my 6233 to the 6300 but to tell you the truth i did'nt know how to do it!!! the only thing i managed to do sucessfully is to set my phones to be connected with my computer wirelessly through blutooth but the rest of the process seems to be very complicated and i need someone to tell me how to move my contacts to my new phone ,,,,
    cheeeers,
    wesam

    Well, you can try this:
    1) Only Connect 6233 first to PC, then open PC Suite and click on the Contacts tool
    2) Browse thru the contacts and make sure that everything is there, then click on one contact, press Ctrl-A (select all) on the keyboard then press Ctrl-C (copy)
    3) Open Windows Explorer and create a temporary folder on your PC (i.e. c:\temp)
    4) Browse to the temporary folder and press Ctrl-V (paste) and this will copy all contacts from 6233 to the computer. After this has been done, disconnect the 6233 and connect the 6300.
    5) In this same folder, again select all the contacts and press Ctrl-V to copy them
    6) Again, open PC suite and click on the Contacts tool. If there are contacts shown in the window, you may select them all (Ctrl-A) and delete them first, or if you don't want, then leave the contacts as is.
    7) While in the Contacts tool, right-click on any one of the contacts you see and then select "Paste" from the menu. This should paste all the contacts from the 6233 to the 6300 phonebook.
    Hope this helps. =)

  • Emails on Nokia 6233

I am having difficulty in opening/finding webmail emails on my Nokia. I can access the internet and the website for webmal but after successfully entering my email address and password the webmail doesn't open. Instead I get a message saying "unknown server" Could someone please suggest how I can overcome this problem. Is the problem with the settings on my phone or with the network provider or with the webmail site. At the moment all three say it's not their problem but one of the others! so I am stuck as to where the snag is.
    Suggestion, help very appreciated.

    Hi ajam,
It may be that the web mail server you are trying to access is using redirection and security protocols that are not fully supported by your phone's browser. However, like classic_sis mentioned, Nokia 6233 supports IMAP4, POP3 and SMTP, making possible for you to access the email account using the phone's own email client.
When accessing the email application, settings wizard should start automatically if no e-mail settings are defined in the phone. To enter the settings manually, select Menu > Messaging > Email > Options > Manage accounts > Options > New. If your email is provided Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail, the application should be able to configure the account automatically, so you only need to type in your email address and the password to get it working.
Let us know if this helps,

  • Lotus Notes doesn't synchronised with Nokia 6233

    Hello!
    There are my details:
    Nokia 6233
    Windows XP sp2
    PC suite 6.83.14.1
    Connection method: Bluetooth
    Aplication Lotus notes 6.5
Connection is established, calendar items are successfully synchonised, but not contact items. I think that problem is in Synchronisation settings (Tab Lotus Notes 6.x there are Group Contacts and two fields below "Server" and "Filename" ), the value of "filename" field i put "mail\mstetjuh.nsf", where "mstetjuh" is my account namme. Synhronisation report writes that all successfully finished.
Help me where I am wrong, please.

Sorry, I didn't reed corectly. I put as you sad and all is gone. Big thanx

  • Calculator on Nokia 6233

When I 'lost' my calculator sometime back on my Nokia 6233 I was advised to take in to a Service Centre where they could send it away and have the calculator' flashed' back onto the phone.
I couldn't spare the phone for that length of time but I wondered if from the 'Settings' menu if I selected 'Restore factory settings' whether that would reinstall it.
    Any ideas?

  • Nokia 6233 music files transferring issue

I tried transferring some mp3 files into my nokia 6233 using Nokia PC suite's Audio manager. But after selecting all the files I need to transfer and clicking transfer to phone button, the files get listed in the bottom pane where the status is displayed. After that the transferring status is automatically becoming "cancelled". What may be the problem??? I am using a Nokia DKU-2 USB cable... there is no problem while transferring images ets from the phone to PC.. The only problem is with transferring music files from my PC to the phone (BTW I dont have a SIM as of now... is it necessary to have a sim for transferring files into the phone???)

You do not need a SIM card.
Try copying the music accros with the windows explorer while your phone is connect to the PC in Data Storage mode.

  • 6233 contact group system sucks

I don't know about you, or the people at Nokia, but I use contact groups primarily for sending a single message to multiple recipients.
Create message (be it sms, mms, voice or e.mail), select which contact group it is to go to, and it goes.
    Simple, straight forward, intuitive.
In every phone I've ever had this is how it's worked.
So why does the Nokia 6233 demand I confirm which number I want to use for each and every member of a contact group?
    Why?!!
Why break something that was working fine?
I'm not an idiot, I've selected which number I want to be the default for each contact in the address book, why can't it have a selectable setting to automatically use the default number?
    IS IT REALLY THAT HARD!
What precisely are contact groups supposed to be used for now? what good are they?
And are Nokia intending to fix this in an imminent firmware upgrade or am I going to buy an SE k800i

How long since you have this problem?
    Did it ever work?
Please check if the contacts disappear there when you sign in with Lync 2010.

  • Nokia 6233 - PC Suit Cable Connection & Music

I have recently purchased the Nokia 6233 and would appreciate any advice on the following (in laymans terms would be great as I am not very tech minded) 1. PC suit will not recognise my phone (USB connection) At first the connection was intermittent e.g. sometimes it will recognise it and at other times it wont. Now after telling me to update to the new PC Suite, which I did (and it didn't work at all so I uninstalled it and re-loaded the old version )it will not recognise my phone. 2. When it did connect I managed to transfer some music from CD to PC Suit and then from the PC Suite to my phone. However I kept getting a message that there wasn't enough memory on the phone to download the music (even when I tried up to 3 songs) so I bought a memory card. This was good as I can now download quite a lot of songs. But they will on only play one at a time. How do I get the tracks to play continuously? Yours frustrated Nokia 6233 owner

    Hi frustrated nokia 6233 owner,
I also have a 6233, with cable. I had the same problem where the pc suite would not recognise my phone when it was connected. I tried this solution from another post:
Go to Control Program, Add Or Remove Programs, select PC Nokai Suite, select Support Information, and select Repair. Select PC Connectivity. Select PC Connectivity Solution, select Change, and Select Repair.
The pc suite recognised my phone after that. However, there may be a downside, though it recognises my phone the pc suite functions no longer work. I dont know if that is a seperate problem. Give it a go. I hope it works.
As for music, i'm not sure, sorry. Mine plays all tracks automatically. You may need to check the settings in music player. What format are your music files?
hope i've been of some assitance to you.

  • A device which is not part of this management group has attempted to access this Health Service.

Has anyone found an answer to this yet?  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the agents both manually and through the push. Rebooted the client, rebooted the  sce server. Forced the group policy to reapply, forced the health agent to /reportnow and I still get the error. The client shows up under the agent managed section but under the health state column it shows not monitored. The clients can ping the SCE server by FQDN and RDP to it as well so name resolution is working fine.

    Hey Nathan,
Yea I have sent the script to eveyone that has aked for it. I dont know if its helped anybody else as none has given me any feedback either way.
I guess I can post it here for everyone to use.
Please keep in mind that if you use this script from MS its at your own risk, If your DB blows up, massive catastrophic failure ensues and so forth ITS YOUR OWN FAULT. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD BACKUPS
Step 1) Run this against your SCE 2007 DB
    DECLARE @BaseManagedEntityInternalId int
    DECLARE @BaseManagedEntityId uniqueidentifier
    DECLARE @ViewName sysname
    DECLARE @Statement nvarchar(max)
    SET @BaseManagedEntityInternalId = 0
WHILE EXISTS (SELECT * FROM BaseManagedEntity WHERE (BaseManagedEntityInternalId >
    @BaseManagedEntityInternalId))
    BEGIN
    SELECT TOP 1
    @BaseManagedEntityInternalId = bme.BaseManagedEntityInternalId
    ,@BaseManagedEntityId = bme.BaseManagedEntityId
    ,@ViewName = met.ManagedTypeViewName
    FROM BaseManagedEntity bme
    JOIN ManagedType met ON (bme.BaseManagedTypeId = met.ManagedTypeId)
    WHERE (bme.BaseManagedEntityInternalId > @BaseManagedEntityInternalId)
    AND (bme.IsDeleted = 0)
    ORDER BY BaseManagedEntityInternalId
    SELECT @Statement = 'IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM ' + QUOTENAME(@ViewName) + '
    WHERE BaseManagedEntityId = ''' + CAST(@BaseManagedEntityId AS varchar(50)) + ''')
    PRINT ''' + CAST(@BaseManagedEntityId AS varchar(50)) + ' ' + @ViewName + ''''
    EXECUTE(@Statement)
    END
    STEP 2)
If your problem was the same a mine you should get some GUID’s returned.  (For example 93790c0B-09C4-3A4D-CE72-F4E3Dd917D78 MTV_DeploymentSettings)
Using the GUID that we got in the output file
    Execute the below given query:
    ==========================
    select fullname
    from basemanagedentity
    where basemanagedentityid = ‘<GUID>’
    ==========================
Verify that the device or the object mentioned in the above output is not displayed in Operations console.
Only in case if the object is not displayed then use the below given query to delete it from database.
    ==========================
    update basemanagedentity
    set isdeleted = 1
    where basemanagedentityid = ‘<GUID>’
    ==========================
Before executing the above query please ensure that you have the backup of the database. Also note that you need to run the above said query only incase if you do not see the object in the Operations console.
After executing this query, run this stored procedure:
    ==========================
    exec p_Detectandfixinstancespaceinconsistencies
    ==========================
    Once it is done:
    > Stop all the three OpsMgr services: health, Config and SDK on Management Server
    > Cleared the health service state folder.
    > Start all the three OpsMgr services: SDK, Config, and health on Management Server.
    > Wait for 30 minutes and see if the agents start getting monitored.
    I hope this helps everyone

  • Nokia 6233 v05.10 odd behaviour

    Hello!
After thoroughly searching not only this board but the entire Internet, I found no answer to my question so I decided to register and ASK.
I need to know if any of you owners of a Nokia 6233 observed this odd behaviour of your phone - so please keep reading.
I purchased the phone 16 days ago. Being my first Nokia, I took time to exploit its every feature, therefore draining the battery quite quickly. I discharged and fully charged the battery at least 3 times in the first 3 days, without leaving it plugged-in overnight (as far as I know this is no longer necessary). The battery life time increased progressively until a maximum of three days of normal use, meaning moderate talking (under 20 minutes per day), little or no use of Java apps, camera, media players or GPRS/EDGE connection. The screen savers are off, power saver is on, sleep mode is on. Packet data connection - when needed and network mode is GSM only because I do not use 3G. All these should get me the best stand-by time possible, right? Well, they did, until...
I bought a new microSD card, 2.0 GB storage, made by SanDisk. The card works fine, I put my favorite music and video clips on it - all the stuff you do when you have enough space. Since then, the battery life decreased SUBSTANTIALLY to LESS THAN 24 HOURS. And there's more. The battery drains even if the phone is turned off, in roughly the same amount of time. I have never ever seen anything like this. Sometimes the battery is so low that the phone takes a few minutes before displaying the battery charging icon and, when started, it asks for hour/date settings.
So, I need to know if anybody else noticed battery life decrease with bigger memory card capacity, and what's to be done.

Have you tried using the in-box memory card(That came with the phone) again? There's something wrong with your phone and battery if the problem still occurs..

  • Is it possible to deploy 2 SCOM 2012 R2 reporting in a SQL server which already has SCOM reporting of a different management group but with 2 different reporting instance.

    Hi Experts,
I have a typical situation in the LAB environment. Hope some one helps. I have Installed a SCOM 2012 R2 with SQL 2012 SP1 in a single server (Management group 1). I have installed another management group on another server using this SQL server for its database
so i have everything going fine.
The first management group has its reporting installed in the SQL server. For the second i created a new named instance for that. But i cannot run the SCOM setup in the SQL server (Also holding the Management group 1 MS) as 1 st reporting is already there.
When i run the setup it is asking me to repair it. I don't get the install option so i can install the reporting for management group 2 in the named instance.
Default instance is being used by the 1st management group.
Can any one figure a possibility for installing 2 SCOM reporting services for different management groups in a same SQL 2012 server please.
    Gautam.75801

    Hi Yan Li,
Thank you for the reply. So as you are aware If i need to instal reporting, i need to run the SCOM 2012 R2 setup in the SQL server and select reporting and select the
instance and then mention the management server there right. I am not getting that option there it is asking me to remove or repair the existing installation as there is already a SCOM entire setup including reporting there. As it is a lab there is no problem
in testing. I have 2 reporting instances. Any suggestions for me on how to overcome this issue and deploy the second reporting in the new named instance ?
Below is the screenshot of the error what i am talking about when i run SCOM 2012 R2 setup to install reporting in the SQL server
When i click on add feature reporting is greyed out (As already 1st management groups reporting is installed)
When i click on remove or repair it
uninstalls the existing one. But i want both SCOM 2012 r2 reporting to be there(For both Management group). Is it possible ? If yes What is the trick to run the setup ?

  • Monitoring servers in SCOM 2012 via different locals within the same management group

    Hi,
I have 2 management servers in a same management group. The 1st one is having English (US) locale while other is installed on Swedish locale. Both are accessed by different users having same admin rights.
Once a USER 1 try to register a server through authoring tab from 1st management server(installed on English locale), a profile/group wrt the server registered is created successfully but the USER on 2nd management server (installed on Swedish locale) can
not see the same in Authoring tab. He can view it in Monitoring tab as as well as Administration tab.
The Vice versa is also true.
Does any one have idea that is it SCOM 2012's expected behaviour wrt 2 2 different users on 2 different locales within a same management group ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I am a little confused, what do you mean by "register a server through authoring tab"?
Do you mean that when you discover a server on 1st MS with discovery wizard then you cannot see it on 2nd MS(and the vice versa)?
As far as I know, all those information should be stored in the operation database which is shared to both MSs within the same management group.
We may use SQL query to find the discovered server on the operation database. Please also check operation manager event logs to get more information to troubleshoot this issue.
    Regards,
    Yan Li

  • Problem with Nokia Music Manager 2.0 converting mp...

    Hi everyone!
I have a problem using the Nokia Music Manager 2.0. I want to convert some mp3-files into "Mobile Optimized Format". If a start conversion it fails and says Track cannot be converted because it is already in the target format or file format is not supported. However, the files worked on my previous computer with WinXP. Now I'm using Vista Business. The conversion will always proceed to 50% and break then. I have the feelng it's a problem with the rights to write the new file. Running it with administrative rights or in compatibility mode did not either.
    Can anyone provide help?
    Thanks!
    Toonfish

i'm having the same problem... ever since nokia upgraded pc suite a few months ago, and i had to get a new version due to a problem with my computer, i can't put music onto my phone using the music manager 2.0. so i've been just copying them in their mp3 formats but of course it's alot more space that could be saved if i could have them in the AAC+ pr M4A formats.
i checked out download.com (they offer alot of free to try and free in general programs) and i searched for mp3 to m4a
i found this program " Abcc Free Music to MP3 AMR AAC OGG Converter 3 "
I downloaded it, which only took maybe 5 minutes, and then installed it (another maybe 2-3 minutes)
I'm trying the program now and.... IT WORKS.
i just converted about 6 pm3's to m4a's and it took about 3-4 minutes. try it !
