You should be able to reply to all SPAM SMSs/MMSs just saying
STOP
There was something done by ofcom or someone like that about this... it's always worked for me.

I live in Dubai which a du Nokia 6300 phone. I have downloaded the mms settings but cannot send multimedia messages to or receive multimedia messages from the UK. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Check if your local ISP supports MMS messaging(send/received, or received only whatever) to other ISP(abroad) or local only, & if the local ISP have an agreement with the ISP's in UK regarding MMS.

  • Nokia 6300 - Multimedia Messaging - Video

    Hi all
Wondering if I can get some help. I have the 6300 with current software v 04.71.
My issue is that I can record videos on my phone, but when they are sent it just comes through as a PXT message on anyones phone that I send to. I have tested with friends on different networks and same network but no difference.
I send a video to myself and it works (which is according to the network provider - "the test" to make sure everything is working). I receive a video from a friend and can view that with no issues and I can send that on and it works no problem at the other end. It seems to be just videos that are recorded on my phone do not work. But they do play when viewed on my phone. I have checked my setting in comparison to a friend on same network but all the same.
    Can anyone help?

  • Nokia 6630 - Nokia PC Suite Support Update

Hi to everyone out there to help me,
Few weeks ago, I updated my phone software and after that, I found out that I could view old messages and send new ones from my pc. I loved that feature, but didn't use it often. As I wanted to use it again today, I couldn't... I can view my contacts, calender entries, but cannot view my messages. I can send new ones though...
An error occurs as I connect my phone to my pc (via cable), which I had beforehand too I guess. It's not English, so I will translate it myself:
    "Nokia PC Suite
In order to make your phone support new features, the PC Suite support on your phone has to be updated.
Would you like to update the PC Suite support on your cell phone (Nokia 6630)?"
    - I click on the green tick.
A quick dissapearing window pops up... It's hard to tell what appears even on my own language xD:
    "Installing...
Accept all upcoming approvals on your phone"
Then in 1-2 seconds the message changes into:
     "PC Suite support installation failed"
    - I click on the green tick, the only option.
Well, as I said before, besides that I am unsure, this problem existed beforehand, and I could view my messages even like that.
I tried repairing the Nokia PC Suite, after I send this message I will uninstall and install it once... I will update the situation...

    Nokia 6630 (RM-1)
    Firmware version
    Current: 5.03.08
Update (as of date above): 5.03.08
    Nokia Software Updater ver: 2.6.6en
    Connection via Nokia DKU-2 USB
I have exactly same problem as you described:
    PC Suite (7.1.51.0)
    message box displays:
The PC Suite support installed on your phone must be updatedto support new features.
Do you want to udpadte PC Suite support on your cell phone (Nokia 6630)?
    [green tick <yes> ] [red X <no>  ]
    InstalLing
[Accept all possible installation requests on your phone
    PC Suite support installation failed
    < green tick > ]
As this goes on a banner momentarilydisplays on the phone, it is an Icon and the name "INSTALLER"
    this  happens twice
    then finally,
    PC Suite support instalation failed
    On the phone i see:
       Tools->Manager-->
            (App. Manager)
             PC_Suite_Sup (70kb)
             Version 1.7.0
On its status, it says it is NOT INSTALLED
So I select the option to install it but when I view the details again its status still says NOT INSTALLED.
I go on and Select REMOVE and it is dutifully removed from the list.
I coldboot the phone and upon verifying that it is not on the app manager list. I restart PC Suite and go through the procedures above (Install PC Suite support) and again it ends up with pc suite installation failed.
Checking on the appmanager, it reappears on the list. but it is NOT INSTALLED as per its status.
I'm thinking perhaps if there was an app (PC SUITE SUPPORT) i can download and install via PC SUite then perhaps that would solve the problem, but I've grown weary (leary?) of trawling Nokia's site(s) for it as I've ended up with zilch thus far.
Any one out there that can help? Someone from Nokia would be nice ...
Ihope i get notification of replies ...

  • Multimedia messages won't send

Hi, Just wondering what's going on here. When I try to send a multimedia message from my Nokia N70 it just sits in the outbox and says 'Waiting' then eventually says 'Resending at xx:xx'. The reception symbol under where it says how much reception I have also flashes while the multimedia message is 'waiting' (waiting for what I don't know!).. If anyone knows whats going on or hwo to fix it that'd be great.
    Thanks!
    Angie

Have you ever sent a MMS (Multimedia message) successfully ?
If not you will need to get this service enabled with your network provider.
    Regards,
    Edward

  • Can Nokia 6630 Web browser be set to use MMC?

    Hi all
I have a Nokia 6630 and it works very well for most purposes, but I have been experiencing problems with the web browser. I like to browse the internet and save pages to my phone's memory using the Advanced option under Bookmarks. It seems that the browser uses the phone's onboard memory of 10MB, and this has often run out. I have a 512MB RS-MMC card in the memory card slot, so I have plenty of memory to spare - I have checked the contents of the card and there is plenty left, over 300MB even with all of my data. Unfortunately, I have found no way to set the Web browser so that it uses the memory card; this would give me plenty of storage. It seems strange, as I have reset many of the phone's functions to use the card e.g. camera, video and messaging.
Is there a way to set the Web browser to use the MMC card? Is there some function or code that will make the phone do this?
Also, is there any way to set the Voice Recorder to record audio of unlimited length to the memory card, or am I stuck at 1 minute?

You could get either Opera or Access' NetFront and install those on the memory card, instead.
And while you can't change the built-in recorder, you can try locating another voice recorder app from here, for example:
    http://my-symbian.com/s60/software/index.php
Access' NetFront is also for s60 v3?

  • Multimedia messaging for N70

I just need a simple guideline about the specifications on sending multimedia messages via MMS on the Nokia N70.
For example the type of image file and size that can be sent along with the type of sound file and the size. I can get the picture onto the message but not the sound file (so what's the criteria for sound files). Thank you in advance.

MP3 and AMR files are supported for audio, jpg and gif files are supported for pictures. Some other format may be supported.
The main limitation of MMS is size. Most networks have a size limit of 300kb's in total (some networks only allow 100kb's) so you can only send short sound clips, very short video clips and the picture may need to be scaled down.

  • Urgent Query re Text Sizes on Nokia 6630

    Hi there,
I am visually impaired and have recently bought a Nokia 6630, which I am very pleased with. I was wondering, however, if anybody could tell me if there are any downloads available (perhaps from Nokia direct) that will enable me to increase the size of the text when writing and reading SMS messages as this would make life much easier for me.
Any assistance given would be very much apprewciated.
    Cheers!!

there is nothing available from nokia to increase the size of sms on the 6630, but if you have a look at softwaremarket.nokia.com you may find something that could magnify the screen

  • Lost with 7250i multimedia message backup :(

    Hi there,
I've jst signed up as i promised i'd backup my misses phone before she goes travelling.
I went to the nokia 7250i page and downloaded the latest pc suite.
But I cannot find a way to view or backup mms? strange! looked at every option.
Also doesn't appear to be an option to view files and messages while the phone is not connected.
I have done a normal backup but don't know if that includes mms.
Can you help with any of these 3?? She leaves tommorow!

    Thanks Sandy,
I have done that. I backed up messages but it doesn't give you a breakdown to say 156 text messages and 10 mms backed up or anything like that.
I wasn't sure that mms had backed up as they don't show in the Nokia PC Suite Messages section where you should be able to create and send text and multimedia messages. Only text messages show up there. No MMS.
Maybe I just have to forward mms to another phone.
Thought this would be easy lol.
I use a third party software years ago which came with usb infra red dongle - and it backed up and made messages, images and sounds etc available to view and upload to other phones with out the original present BUT I can't remember what it's called now. Not as pretty as nokia pc suite but seems to work better.lol
    Ideas anyone?
    Thanks

  • Cannot Send Multimedia Messages!?!

    Hi Guys,
Uh.. I can't send multimedia messages..
My phone will just reboot when I try and send a picture.
It appears the bug has been present in my phone for a while as i have sent them before.
I've just upgraded to firmware 5.10 from 4.52 and this hasn't fixed it?
Does this look like a repair or replacement?
    Thanks

It does it with any picture, and they're all fine.
I can open them up, view them, send them via bluetooth but not via multimedia.
I just get a white screen of death.
I've tried putting the picture on the phone memory from the memory card and it still happens.Message Edited by tehrules on 25-Apr-200702:54 PM
