Non conforming XML dont throw exceptions..

I have been observing this error in ESB flow,
If the XML doesnt abide by XSDrules of an input node, the flow is still successful and the ESB Control console shows a green flow, but the data is not stored in DB or Queue. Ex. if allottee max length is 2 in XSD and if you pass aaa for an allottee, it is an error never caught.
How to capture such errors when a XML file doesnt conform to the define XSD.
Thanks,
-vena

Hi.
You need to check the "Validate Payload at Runtime" in this case. It is located in the ESB Console->Your Routing Service->Definition tab->Operation Defails.
I've heard of some issues regarding this validation. If you check the option and it still does not work properly, you can try to apply the latest patchset.

  • Vendor non conformance not displaying green in exception

    Dear All,
    Vendor non conformance quality notification is not displaying green in exception even after completing well before required end date in QM10.
    Can you please let me know the logic of report of QM10 for vendor non conformance notification type.
    Thanks,
    Naren

    I assume you executed QM10 with "required start/end" for field for monitor.
    -if required start is future : green
    -if start is past, but end is future : yellow
    -if end is past : red
    Exception depends on value of field for monitor on selection screen.

  • Function module JOB_CLOSE throwing exception

    Hello,
    We have a batch job which has 2 steps:
    1) Step 1 uses job_open, job_submit and job_close and immediately schedules batch job A/P_ACCOUNTS which in turn creates batch input sessions A/P_ACCOUNTS.
    2) Step 2 Processes A/P_ACCOUNTS sessions created yesterday or today.
    In few cases, job_close is throwing exception job_close_failed. I believe that error is coming due to non availability of work processes. Job A/P_Accounts is defined as a class C batch job. There is a check in the FM job_close which does the following check:
    - if the class of a batch job is B or C, it calculates the number of free work processes. If there are no work processes available then JOB_CLOSE throws JOB_CLOSE_FAILED exception.
    - If the class is u2018Au2019, it skips this check.
    We have an option of changing the class of batch job to A but there are some system critical jobs that are running as class A.
    My question is:
    In the code, JOB_CLOSE has been called for scheduling the job A/P_ACCOUNTS with parameter start immediately. Can anyone please let me know what will happen if function JOB_CLOSE is not called with start immediately option? Will the batch job A/P_ACCOUNTS wait till the time work processes are available?
    Or, can anything else be done to solve the issue?

    HI,
    This is my experience with job_close..
    when i was working in zprograms then i was able to scedule it any time i wanted..
    but in my standard program when i tried it didn't worked....
    so i have to use that option of starting it immediately..
    and then it is working fine..
    now if i schedule 5 jobs... one after another..
    its get queued up...and once the processor is free...its working..

  • OBIEE 11g: Non conformed dimension filter

    Hi,
    I have two fact tables and some confromed and non conformed dimensions between the fact tabels.
    The hiearchies being built and proper levels were set for the fact tables. The measures of the fact were set to the total level of the non confromed dimension tables.
    The fact also hold some non aggregated columns (baseline columns), all the base line columns where moved to a logical dim table.
    The report involves both the fact tables, conformed and non conformed dimension columns.
    When we built the report with all these columns the report is showing fine. But when we add the filter with the non conformed dimension the report is throwing some error.

    Hi Vinod,
    In OBIEE 10g, we are running into similar error when we add filter from non conformed dimensions in a report, so can you please share patch download details like where to download or if we have to raise a SR for the Patch 14210864.

  • Custom XSLT Functions Throw Exception

    Hi,
    I have following requirement-
    1. I have defined and configured some custom XSLT functions in Jdev and BPEL, which throw exception in case of an error.
    2. Now I want to catch that exception in my BPEL process
    3. In My BPEL process I have defined transformation step ( which is using those Custom XSLT functions) in a scope and added a catch branch to that
    4. But even XSLT java function throw an exception , it is not being catch by catch branch.
    Could you please help me regarding this and tell me any other way to catch an exception in BPEL process thrown by Custom XSLT function within transformation step?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Its the problem with the date. In the configuration file i used dateTime for java.util.Date, because of this i cant see "User Defined" option in Jdeveloper component pallete. I checked at XML data types i had seen dateTime for java.util.Date Class, but its not working.
    Do anyone created a custom xslt function which has date as parameter or return type?, If so wht they had used as data type for xml and java.
    Thanks,

  • Throw exception in Java mapping and handle this in BPM

    Hi,
    I'll use a Java mapping in a BPM transform step. Is it possible to throw an exception inside this Java mapping and handle this in a BPM exception handler?
    thanks and regards
    Verena

    Hi Verena,
    In a BPM transformation step, I think you can throw exceptions only for system errors.
    Let me explain with an example, one of the ways to handle your scenario:
    Lets assume your Java Mapping fails then you can trap that exception in your Java mapping and compose an XML message which indicates that an error has occurred.
    say for e.g.
    <intermediateStructure>
    <SatusDocument>
    <StatusCode>ERROR</StatusCode>
    <ErrCode>123</ErrCode>
    <ErrDesc><!populate the thrown exception details></ErrDesc>
    </StatusDocument>
    <Payload>
    <!contains actual XML message with data>
    </Payload>
    </intermediateStructure>
    if Java mapping is Successful, you can compose the XML message as follows:
    <intermediateStructure>
    <SatusDocument>
    <StatusCode>SUCCESS</StatusCode>
    <ErrCode>0</ErrCode>
    <ErrDesc></ErrDesc>
    </StatusDocument>
    <Payload>
    <!contains actual XML message with data>
    </Payload>
    </intermediateStructure>
    You can use BPM switch operation to switch to different processing branches say for e.g. "error" branch or "success" branch by examining the value of <StatusCode> tag.
    Hope it helps !

    Sridhar

  • ** Throw Exception in BPM - Webservice to JDBC

    Hi friends,
    I am doing Webservice to JDBC scenario using BPM. I am doing insert data in backend system oracle table by passing inputs from WebService. After insert data in table, JBDC returns the response to web service thru response variable 'insert_count = 1' like this. When I try to insert the same record, that is, employee no as primary key in my table,  XI throws an error 'ORA-00001 - unique constraint' in Addtional . We have to pass this information to Web Service. How will we achive this ?
    Presently in our BPM design,
    1) Exception property of the block as 'Error'.
    2) Inside Block, in Sync Send Step (BPM -> JDBC) specified 'Exception/System Error'  as 'Error'.
    3) Inserted one Exception Handler Brach. In this Brach, inserted one control step. In this step, itself we put a Control Step, the action property of this step is 'Throw Exception'. Here , what we need to set for the 'Exception Property' ..?
    Kindly help me friends.

    Hi Mahesh,
    I refered those scenarios. But, our requirment is we want to take 'Additional Text' option from SXMB_MONI and map to WS source structure one element.

  • Xml Parse throws SaxParseException.Encoding is UTF-8 insteadof ISO-8859-1 ?

    Hi All,
    I'm having some korean characters in my xml. when i tried to parse the xml i'm getting SaxParseException .
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> --- Throwing Exception
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> --- No Exception, successfully parsed
    I'm not sure why UTF-8 is failing and ISO is passing. But I'm always getting xml with UTF-8 format? Can anyone know the reason?
    I also like to know the differences between UTF-8 and ISO, i don't find any good article/document for this.
    Thanks,
    J.Kathir

    When SAX throws an exception when the encoding is set to UTF-8, then the XML contains something that is not a valid UTF-8 code (i.e. your source file is not encoded using UTF-8). Also: whenever you ask about an exception you should definitely post the entire exception, including message and stack trace.
    If it doesn't throw an exception when it is set to ISO-8859-1, then it does not mean that this is the correct choice. ISO-8859-1 is defined from 0 up to 255, so any byte stream is correct in that encoding ('though not necessarily meaninful).
    You absolutely have to find out which encoding the file really is, before you can parse it. If it should contain Korean characters then it is definitely not ISO-8859-1 (or any other encoding from the ISO-8859 family), as those only support latin, cyrillic and similar scripts.

  • Dispatching GridSelectionEvent throw exception at runtime - A build issue with FB 4.5

    This is a strang probelm I am facing with.
    My code dispatches GridSelectionEvent after setting girds' selected item in one logic path. Following is code lines -
    myDataGrid.selectedItem = instanceTag;
    myDataGrid.dispatchEvent(new GridSelectionEvent(GridSelectionEvent.SELECTION_CHANGE));
    Flash player throws following error on above statements encounter -
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
        at spark.accessibility::DataGridAccImpl/eventHandler()
        at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
        at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
        at mx.core::UIComponent/dispatchEvent()
    I am saying it is a strang for me because when I use swf file generated by Flex Builder (4.5)'s export to release build, it does not throw error and code works fine as expected.
    But, when I user swf file generated by Ant script, I face the above issue.
    The Flex builder settings is as shown in following image -
    Ant  mxmlc script is as follow -
    <mxmlc
               file="${basedir}/src/AppMonConfigWizard.mxml"
                static-rsls="false"
               keep-generated-actionscript="false"
               output="${basedir}/bin-release/AppMonConfigWizard.swf" >
         <locale>en_US</locale>
          <load-config filename="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/flex-config.xml"/>
          <source-path path-element="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks"/>
          <source-path path-element="${basedir}/src/locale/{locale}"></source-path>
          <compiler.library-path file="${basedir}/../wizard_framework/bin/wizard_framework.swc" append="true"/>
         <compiler.library-path file="${basedir}/../../utils/bin/utils.swc" append="true"/>
          <include-resource-bundles>ErrorMessages</include-resource-bundles>
          <include-resource-bundles>Strings</include-resource-bundles>
    </mxmlc>
    As mentioned earlier that following statements cause exception -
         myDataGrid.selectedItem = instanceTag;
         myDataGrid.dispatchEvent(new GridSelectionEvent(GridSelectionEvent.SELECTION_CHANGE));
    If I change it to
         myDataGrid.setSelectedIndex(<some index value>)   /*selectedItem replaced with setSelectedIndex*/
         myDataGrid.dispatchEvent(new GridSelectionEvent(GridSelectionEvent.SELECTION_CHANGE));
    it does not throw exception.  I would like to mention that myDataGrid.selectedItem = instanceTag; does sets the selected item but then in that case issue arises when dispatching event.
    I my application, similar statemetns were lot at many places (as there were no such issue with SDK 3.1 which was using earlier) so instead of making changes there, it would be better to imitate the build that Flex builder uses when exported the release build.
    Thanks in advance,
    Prithveesingh Zankat.

    Solved it: had set the only public surface contracts checkbox by mistake and the cosntructor was protected...

    Grouping is done as expected. We have additional functionalities like soring / seraching of the result set. Either one is working fine. Other functionality throws excpetion mentioned below.
    When any of the advanced datagrid grid column header is clicked for sorting, it throws exception. I have pasted the exception below for reference.

  • Report on non conformed dimension

    Hi All,
    I am using OBIEE 11.1.1.5
    We have 2 facts and 4 dimensions out of which only 1 dimension is conformed. We have a report requirement of using the conformed dimension and filtering based on 2 non conformed dimensions and include the measure from both the facts. When the report is created it is throwing error as
    "None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request"
    for eg : Let say
    F1 --> d1,d2
    F2 --> d1,d3,d4
    the report has d1.c1,d2.c2,d3.c3,F1.M1,F2.M2 and filter by d2.c2 and d3.c3
    Thanks in advance.

    Check out patch (bug# 11850704)
    Also have you set the level for the non conforming dimension at the highest level of granularity

  • GetLockingKeyState((KeyEvent.VK_CAPS_LOCK) throws exception on Solaris

    Hello All,
    I have a function like:
    private void displayCapsLockWarning() {
             boolean bCapLockOn=false;
             try{
                  bCapLockOn =  getToolkit().getLockingKeyState(KeyEvent.VK_CAPS_LOCK);
             catch(java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException e){
                  //NOTE: non-windows machines will throw an exception on JRE1.6
                  bCapLockOn=false;
            if (bCapLockOn) {
                getCAPSWarningLabel().setVisible(true);
            } else {
                getCAPSWarningLabel().setVisible(false);
        }This function works fine when using JRE1.5.u11 on Solaris 10. But after we updated to JRE1.6u12, the getLockingKeyState() always throws UnsupportedOperationException . The same function works fine on Windows XP.
    Is this a known problem? Why would SUN remove support for this function when it was already working? Does anybody know of any work-arounds?
    Thanks

    Is it because of a switch from MToolkit to XToolkit?
    [http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/awt/1.5/xawt.html]
    It says Linux was switched from MToolkit to XToolkit in 1.5, and Solaris would "eventually be replaced," so maybe Java 6 was the time?
    That page tells you an environment variable you can use to change the toolkit used by Java for your VM; maybe you could try playing with this with your app in both 1.5 and 1.6 and see if the Toolkit is making the difference?
    It's a known problem that getLockingKeyState() doesn't work with XToolkit, but does with MToolkit:
    [http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;jsessionid=af849d41020d53fffffffff8d498737c80062?bug_id=5100701]

  • Can't throw exception inside try block!

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem trying to throw an error inside a try block.
    To illustrate:
    public class TestException {
    public TestException() {
    try {
    int ret = foo();
    System.out.println("ret is " + ret);
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    System.out.println("exception caught");
    public int foo() throws Exception {
    int ret = 0;
    try {
    throw new Exception("test exception");
    } finally {
    return ret;
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    new TestException();
    If I run this the only output is "ret is 0" - I do not catch the thrown exception! What am I doing wrong?
    Any and all help will be very gratefully received.
    Thanks.

    I need to correct myself: I've re-read the spec, and actually the behaviour is conformant with the JLS: JLS says that the return statement completes abruptly, and an abrupt return in a finally block that didn't have a (applicable or any) catch block will result in the original exception being 'forgotten'.
    Very unintuitive, but as-spec'ed
