NoPrintNulls option on weblogic 7

          Is there a way to configure weblogic server to use the
          -noPrintNulls flag when compiling jsps? (that switch if from the weblogic.jspc compiler)
          --BRALL

weblogic.xml
          <jsp-descriptor>

    Anybody have any idea why this option is not working in weblogic 10.3.1?

    I am able to resolve the problem and JPD is upgraded now in my application. But I am facing an issue of deploying WLI application in Weblogic 10.3.1 server. I tried to with exporting EAR of application and deployed in server after deployment I checked the "Testing" tab and I am getting error :
    Errors were encountered while scanning the descriptors or deployment plan for this application. These errors are sufficiently serious that they prevent further progress in processing this request. Depending on the exact problem, more details may be available from the log.

    Hi,
    1] Remove following from server.xml
    <Context path="/SEA" docBase="SEA" debug="0"/>
    2] Paste SEA.WAR (test WAR file) into /webapps of TOMCAT
    3] Start Tomcat Server - This will create SEA folder under webapps
    4] Stop server.
    5] Add following to server.xml
    <Context path="/SEA" docBase="SEA" debug="0"/>
    6] Start Tomcat Server
    7] Access the URL.
    This will work. Somehow Tomcat does not extract war file contents which are mentioned in server.xml.
    I have Apache Tomcat 4.0.3 and faced this problem. The above solution works for it.
    Regards,

    hi.
    I have put my SEA.WAR (test WAR file) into /webapps of
    TOMCAT.
    I checked the server.xml and put:
         <Context path="/SEA" docBase="SEA" debug="0"/>
    I restarted TOMCAT and tried to execute the file:
         http://localhost:8080/SEA/index.jsp
    But I got error message:
    Apache Tomcat/4.0.3 - HTTP Status 404 -
    /SEA/index.jsp
    What was happenning?
    Anyone can help me?
    Thank you.

    Ok, it seems that you have used Hot Spot JDK, instead of Jrockit. Please make sure that you have downloaded the correct package for Jrockit.

  • Upgrade options for WebLogic server 6.1

    Is it better to upgrade from WebLogic server 6.1 to 7.0 first then go
    to 8.1 or just go straight to 8.1? Has anyone ran into issues with
    8.1 already and would have been better off staying with 7.0 until the
    service pack for 8.0 comes out this July?

    I'm biased since I work on the product, but I'd highly recommend going
    straight to 8.1. We spent most of our time in WLS-land between 7.0 and
    8.1 working on usability and stability of the server. I think you'll
    find it's a very nice and solid upgrade, and it gets you to JDK 1.4.
    I migrated several customer applications during our beta period. The
    migration from 6.x or later to 8.1 is pretty straightforward.

  • NoTryBlocks options has been removed in weblogic 9.x

    I have recently upgraded from weblogic8.1 to Weblogic9.2. I was using following option in weblogic.xml in weblogic8.1
    <jsp-param>
                   <param-name>noTryBlocks</param-name>
                   <param-value>true</param-value>
              </jsp-param>
    to fix following error:
    'code too large for try statement'
    But, this option has been removed in weblogic9.x version.. Does anybody know, what wud be the solution in weblogic9.x ???
    Or This problem doesnt exist in weblogic 9.x version???

    I have around 1000 jsp pages they are all working in weblogic 8.1 since i have used 'noTryBlocks' in Weblogic.xml file. But now i am migrating to Weblogic9.2. But in this latest version there is no option for specifying 'noTryBlocks' in weblogic.xml file. I am bit worried whether all my jsp files work fine in weblogic 9.2 without 'noTryBlocks' set to true..

  • Weblogic.Deployer -remote option

    Hi,
    using -remote option in weblogic.Deployer I can deploy applications remotely to servers.
    Say that I'm deploying apps to remote managed server with port 9001 (admin server port 8001). There is a firewall in between build machine(where I'm deploying apps from) and weblogic server and these two ports are blocked. Is there any way to remote deploy? I know that the app cannot be deployed without these ports open.
    Which port is required here to remote deploy?
    Note: I dont want to open ports and I dont want to ssh tunnel. right now, the way I'm doing is send the scripts to remote server and then deploy.
    If you have any other work around, please post
    Thanks,

    Hi Nlrreddy,
    Option-A).
    You can try configuring the Virtual Host for your Admin And Managed Servers.
    http://download-llnw.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs81/adminguide/web_server.html#103248
    After that may be u need to enable Tunnelling as well.
    Option-B). Configure a Web Proxy Like (Apache) which runs and Listens on default port 80. Now Enable the Http-Tunneling in Admin Server. Set the Apache to Pass all the requests to Admin WebLogic Server. Now In the Deployer option you can use *"http://ProxyAdderss:proxyPort"* rather than using t3://AdminServerAddress:AdminServerPort
    Example:
    java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://ProxyAdderss:proxyPort -username weblogic -password weblogic -remote -deploy -name complexServiceEar -appversion VesionA -targets AdminServer -source complexServiceEar.ear

  • Eclipse indigo and weblogic 10.3- not able to download wl 10.3 to indigo

    Install new extension from eclipse indogo, it does not give option of weblogic 10.3. It gives
    BEA Weblogic Server v8.1
    BEA Weblogic Server v9.0
    BEA Weblogic Server v9.1
    BEA Weblogic Server v9.2
    BEA Weblogic Server v10.0
    It does not give
    BEA Weblogic Server v10.3
    How do I configure weblogic 10.3 to eclipse[indigo]?
    1.Change Eclipse memory settings by updating the properties of eclipse.ini file -Xmx768m -Xms256m
    2.Make sure this configuration (-Dsun.lang.ClassLoader.allowArraySyntax=true) is there, if not add it and save the file.
    3.Make sure you have configured your Weblogic server in "Development" mode. If node done, please change the configuration.
    4.Start Eclipse
    5.Go to Window -> Preferences -> Server -> Installed Runtimes -> Add
    6.In the dialog "New Server Runtime", there is a link "Download additional server adapters". Click it, and Eclipse will search on the Internet for additional server adapters. When it's done, select “Oracle Web Logic Server Tools” (or more appropriate one, if you get one) and install it.
    7.Alternate to step 5, you can add http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/galileo as updated site in Eclipse and install the Eclipse pack from Oracle.
    8.Restart your Eclipse after installation.
    9.Open server view as Window ->Open View -> Others -> Server ->Servers
    10.Right click on the pane, and select new server
    11.In the next screen, select your JRE e.g. JRE 1.5 and Weblogic installation directory e.g. C:\bea\weblogic.
    12.Click next
    13.In next screen, provide the Weblogic domain directory e.g. C:\bea\weblogic\myprojects\domains\mydomain, provide the Weblogic port e.g. 7001 and user id/password for the Weblogic server.
    14.Click finish.
    15.Double click on the server; it will open server details in the editor. Make sure publish automatically check box is check. If not checked, check it, save and close it.
    16.At this point, you can see Weblogic server listed in server pane.
    17.You can right click the server and add/remove projects from your workspace to this server.

    No it's different. It's different script.
    I got the below response from Oracle support, and I'm trying to see where this Servers tab is. I see a servers tab in preference, but I don't think that's what they mean because there's no domain item.. Any idea?
    Basically, OEPE connects to weblogic domain through admin server. When you create a new server in OEPE, you only choose domain instead of individual servers, and that server created maps to domain's admin server.
    If you want to deploy the application developed in OEPE to managed servers or cluster, you could try the following:
    1) browse to Servers tab
    2) right click on the domain
    3) choose 'Properties'
    4) choose 'WebLogic' -> 'Publishing' -> 'Advanced'
    5) move disired target from left to right

  • How i configure the log4j.xml in weblogic server

    hi
    i write a new lg4j.xml and i put this in WEB-INF/classes,i deployed this jar in my remote server,but it not reflected. [i am not specify the server logs, we have some API's which is deployed in server for that API log files is configured using log4j.xml ]
    i saw there is a option in weblogic - setDomain -LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE='here we give the path for log4j.xml'.I think it's only work for local machines not for the remote machines.
    i don't know how to get a log files in weblogic server

    To use Quartz primarily within an application server environment,include the Quartz JAR within the enterprise application (.ear or .war file). However, if you want to make Quartz available to many applications then simply make sure it's on the classpath of your appserver.
    You can also deploy it as a jar file or a library module as required.
    Quartz depends on a number of third-party libraries (in the form of jars) which are included in the distribution .zip file in the 'lib' directory. To use all the features of Quartz, all of these jars must also exist on your classpath.

    Olaf,
    Sorry I missed your blog post. It was helpful, but it did not allow me to successfully run my application on the standalone WebLogic 10.3. To do this, I did the following:
    1. Created ADF/ADF Faces web application - runs fine in integrated WebLogic Instance.
    2. Followed directions to setup standalone WebLogic Server as outlined in above posts with links to Duncan Mills and Chris Muir, including installation of latest JDeveloper ADF libraries.
    3. Copied adfmweb.jar, adfm.jar, adfdt_common.jar to .../domains/adf_domain/lib/ following setup by Chris Muir.
    4. In console in standalone WebLogic 10.3 server, create JDBC Data Source with name jdbc/whdp_DS (In the test, I got an error. At this point, I replaced the URL with the JDBC custom URL that I use in SQL Developer for this data set which is setup to connect to a RAC setup with failover. Works great. 7. In the application, modified the AppService defined in the model by right clicking on the AppService and selecting configuration. I changed both the local and shared configurations to use the jdbc DataSource jdbc/whdp_DS. I am not sure which one is needed to be changed, but changing them both made the application work on the standalone WebLogic 10.3 server.
    8. Deploy to standalone server. I had previously created the application server as a target.
    Now my deployment works, AND running the application works. The question now is whether this is the "best" way to do this, or is there an easier way. Also, what about developing locally? How do you manage both the data source defined for the standalone server and a simple JDBC URL for the integrated server? Couldn't find that explained in the docs anywhere.
    I also noticed that with the latest JDeveloper install (build 5205), there is now an extra entry about an UDDI server not running that isn't critical in the logs. This may be caused from the reinstall and not selected UDDI as an option for WebLogic components, but this message shouldn't appear.

  • Setting timeout in weblogic.admin command

    Hello:
    I run a script that checks the state of several thing in my platform. One of the commands I use in this script
    is
    java -cp .. weblogic.Admin localhost:7001 ..... GETSTATE
    IS there anyway to set a timeout in this command for the case weblogic server is hang and doesn´t answer anything. I have tried using sun properties for connect timeout and readTimeout but they haven´t worked(I suppose that it is because weblogic.admin uses t3 instead http). I have thought to make the following
    sleep 10|ps -efx| grep -i GETSTATE|grep -v grep|awk '{ print $2 }'|xargs kill -9 &
    java -cp .. weblogic.Admin localhost:7001 ..... GETSTATE
    but I don´t like at all this solution
    Regards,
    Mario.

    hi sir,
    I think in weblogic 9.2 weblogic.Admin utility is deprecated but it works in 9.2. We have better option than weblogic.Admin utility nothing but WLST. If u want to start using weblogic.Admin we have command
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx START managedservername
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx SHUTDOWN managedservername
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx START clustername
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx SHUTDOWN clustername
    If u want to use WLST for starting managed servers and clusters
    check the follwing steps.
    1. java weblogic.WLST
    2. startNodeManager()
    3. TAKE ANOTHER COMMAND PROMPT START ADMIN SERVER
    4. TAKE ANOTHER COMMAND PROMPT
    java weblogic.WLST
    5. start('man1','Server') or start('man1','Server','localhost:7003')
    6. start('mycluster','Cluster')
    7.shutdown('man1','Server') or start('man1','Server','localhost:7003')
    8.shutdown('mycluster','Cluster')

  • Changing thread count in WebLogic 10.3

    Hi
    We have migrated from WebLogic 8.1 to 10.3.
    how do i change the thread count in weblogic 10.3? i saw options in weblogic 8.1 and 9.2 but not in 10.3.
    Can anybody throw some light on this.

    From WL9.0 onwards, the Weblogic thread management mechanism is changed.Now no need to set the thread count. WLS itself is intelligent enough to do the self tuning of the thread pool.
    To prioritize and schedule your application requests,you can create work managers and can associate request classes/constraints.You can refer the below article to understand the workload management using work managers.

  • Authentication and authorization capability in weblogic application server

    Hi,
    Need input from architecture point of view -
    Requirement is typical - have to build a web center portal application with authentication and authorization capability.
    I can think of three architecture options:
    1. weblogic server (where webcenter portal application will be deployed) with oracle IDM (or any other full blown IDM suite)...
    2. weblogic server with Active Directory (or any other LDAP directory), and a LDAP authenticator is configured in weblogic...
    3. only weblogic server (users created in weblogic admin console)...
    Obviously 1st one is costliest option (product cost, infrastructure cost, maintenance cost) and most flexible. However I am discarding it purely because of cost.
    Confused between 2nd and 3rd.
    2nd option - separate user store, user can be added/deleted without touching application server, cost wise - 1 extra server and 1 LDAP directory product (or open source LDAP server)...
    3rd option - application server becomes very 'heavy' with all users information, you need to access server to add/delete users, probably cheapest option money wise... However it might affect application performance if users grow large...
    Please let me know if I should consider more parameters/points before deciding. Is there any important thing I am missing? Your input appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You are right your first requirement make more costly and complex environment.
    I would recommend to go with Second option instead of the third one.
    In cause in future if you want to use different server also you will have option to use external AD.
    Well now you will think why I recommend you second option instead of the third option.
    external LDAP is more secure than internal one.
    If you have any further query let me know.
    Regards,
    Kal

  • Running Hibernate 3 in Weblogic 10

    I am attempting an upgrade from WL 9.2 to WL 10.0.
    I have encountered an issue as I am using Hibernate3 (3.2.6). and also DROOLS,JBPM
    Ostensibly, from what I have read on various sites, the issue is with the use of ANTLR as the new query parser/translator.
    The errors I am seeing in the log files relate to Named Query and HQLToken.
    I have seen a couple of possible solutions:
    1. change the HibernateSession to use the old or Classic Translator by setting the property
    <property name="hibernate.query.factory_class">org.hibernate.hql.classic.ClassicQueryTranslatorFactory</property>
    in the Hibernate config files
    2. Ensure the antlr.jar(2.7) is loaded first by prepending it to the "boot" classpath of the weblogic instance
    Neither of which has worked; this may be user error.
    However, I was wondering if anyone could re-assure or advise another possible approach?

    Hi,
    Check for correct jar available in classpath or else you can use prefer-web-inf option with weblogic.xml file that should solve this problem.

    Kal

  • How to add Friendly URLs in Weblogic Portal?

    Hi,
    We are developing a portal using Weblogic 10gR3. Right now the URL's that are getting formed are very long which includes the nfpb, nfls, pagelabel e.t.c. The requirement is to have a very user friendly url something like http://www.x.com/portal/<<pageLabel>>
    The Weblogic documentation mentions something about URL compression, however unable to apply it for dynamic URL's. We have URL's which are formed on the fly from the WLP Content Repository
    Is there some kind of servlet / filter provided within WLP. I read somewhere about an URLTransformationServlet. But there was no documentation on its usage. Can some one share a sample code snippet with me. That would be really really helpful, as we are having a slight time crunch here.
    Any kind of help on this will be deeply appreciated. Thanks
    Thanks and Regards,
    Lilly

    WLProxy configuration falls under the weblogic server product hence you will have to raise an SR with that product to get any suggestions.
    Before that I would suggest you play around with the parameter I have suggested and see how it is impacting the url and then if there is any specific area you are stuck on check with the WLS team.
    Like I mentioned earlier, I do not know if this will completely meet your business requirement, but something you can look into.

    URLCompression servlet is the only option that weblogic portal provides out of the box to compress the URL of WLP. I understand this does not suite your requirement.
    The other option I can think of that can possibly help you achieve this is to configure any weblogic proxy plugin that you might be making use of, see the document
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/plugins/plugin_params.html#wp1143055 look for PathTrim, PathPrepend

    Hi,
    Even thogh after implementing the below changes,still we are not able to get the result. " nfpb parameter is still existing in URL ".
    Implementing URL Compression :
    To configure a webapp to use url compression, follow these steps:
    1. Define the compression servlet in web.xml; for example
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>UrlCompressionServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>com.bea.portlet.compression.UrlCompressionServlet
    </servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>defaultPage</param-name>
    <param-value>/index.jsp</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>errorPage</param-name>
    <param-value>/errors/error.jsp</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    2. Map the compression pattern; for example:
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>UrlCompressionServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>wlp.c</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    3. Add the token {url:compression} to the templates for which you want to apply compression.
    Please suggest on this ASAP.
