Not a pre-defined type or a type from a type group

Hi experts,
I create a interface Z_I_ADOBETEST, and add the following parameter for import:
/1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS TYPE   SFPDOCPARAMS 1   1
IT_ITEM             TYPE     ZTVBAP      0     1
IT_HEADER       TYPE     ZTVBAK      0     1
IMAGE_URL      TYPE     STRING      0     1
I added 2 data types by SE11, and actived them
ZTVBAP    line type VBAP
ZTVBAK     line type VBAK
When I checked (ctrl+F2) interface Z_I_ADOBETEST, I got a error:
Interface Z_I_ADOBETEST
"ZTVBAK" is not a pre-defined type or a type from a type group.

For ZTVBAP, it's table type.
The interface type is ABAP Dictionary-Based interface.

In SE11 go to the custom Structure.
Then select FIELDS tab.
U can see the Predefined Type buuton.
or
EDIT->Predefined Type
Or Ctrl+F6

I prefer defining data elements, structures and table types. These types can easily be analysed dynamically in an ABAP program so they provide a higher flexibility. Also you can add (SapScript) Documentation.
You can define a type-group in SE80 - Other Object - Data Dictionary - Type Group.

User Defined Types menuitem not appears in Server Explorer at Remote Server

I'm working on oracle 10g,odp.net with 2.0. i created two types which are input and output parameters for a function. I installed odp.net (ORACLE DATA PROVIDER FOR .NET 11.1.0.6.20) and generated UDT custom class code. It's working in my system. But when i installed odp.net (ORACLE DATA PROVIDER FOR .NET 11.1.0.6.20) in my remote server, its not showing the UDT Custom Class Code Generation Wizard to create UDT Custom Class Code. I have installed oracle Client 10g,.Net Framework 2.0 and ODP.Net(11.1.0.6.20) in the server.
In my Local system server explorer it's showing

Procedures
Functions
Packages
Synonyms
Sequences
XML Databases
Java Classes
User-Defined Types
In server explorer it's showing only
Tables
Views
Synonyms
Sequences
Procedures

Package Bodies
Why its not showing User-Defined Types.

As you noticed, not all database objects are available in Server Explorer, and because of this they can't have scripts generated for them, nor can they be compared with Schema Compare.
In a pinch, you should be able to use SQL Developer to do this.

Read Type Group

Hi,
I am trying to read the type group ( type-pools ICON ) using below code:
        data: obj TYPE REF TO cl_abap_typedescr,
         typ TYPE REF TO cl_abap_structdescr,
         table TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF abap_componentdescr.
obj = cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'ICON' ).
typ ?= obj.
table = typ->get_components( ).
what i am getting is Transparent table's(ICON) components instead, as Transparent table ICON also exists!!!
i am not able to read Type groups components,
is it possible to read type groups components using above method or any method for that matter????

Type groups are specific DDIC objects, which you cannot evaluate using RTTS classes. This can be provided i.e by fm TYPD_GET_OBJECT , but not the way you are trying. In your case system assumes you provide valid DDIC object (table, structure, data object) to method describe_by_name . That's why it returns components of a table, not a type group with same name.

Pre defined set types are not determined in CAtegory

Hi all,
when i try to create a category for a service product for SLA, the pre defined set types are not getting populated for me.
I have created a new hierarchy, assigned to product and product type.....
but still when i create a category the list of predefined some of the predefined set types are not getting displayed.
Can anyone help this issue.

This is the only custom category available. only one std category has this set types. other than that nothing is there in the system.
is there any services that has to be activated or any authorization that is missing for me...
nut i have sap_all...could not able to trace out the problem.

User-Defined Type does not display values in Table Data grid

I have a User defined Type that is a collection of one character VARCHAR2 values. In the Table Data grid it does not display the character values. I know on all our other Oracle development applications these values display. Is this a bug or is there a snippet to display these values?

Business Functions of type Validation/Constraint not used when defined in the Glossary

Hi,
the problem is the following: in the Glossary, we have some Business Rules defined. They are of type Validation or Constraint and shall be used to validate the data in the system. These Business Rules are used in Domains in a CDM model.
From that CDM model we are generating a PDM model (for HANA, but it's not working for any of the databases available for selection). Now: I would expect, as this has been defined in the CDM, the Business Rules replicated in the PDM model and used as constraints.
This is unfortunately working only for Business Functions, which are directly defined in the CDM model, not for those ones, defined in the Glossary and reused in the CDM model.
Working case:
- define Business Rule in CDM
- define Domain in CDM and assign Business Rule
- assign the domain to a attribute
- generate PDM from the CDM model
- the Business Rule is replicated in the PDM model, the check constraint for the table is generated correctly
NOT working case:
- define Business Rule in Glossary
- define Domain in CDM and assign the Business Rule from the Glossary
- assign the domain to a attribute
- generate PDM from the CDM model
- the Business Rule is NOT replicated in the PDM model, the check constraint for the table is MISSING
Do you think it's a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

We are on 16.5 SP05

Looks like a bug to me; I would expect the source of the rule to be irrelevant, assuming the PDM has access to the relevant metadata at the time of generation. Perhaps Glossary shortcuts don't have access to all the metadata?

JPub Error User-defined type not found

I just have found about Jpub could help me with my problem, so i try it, but when i try to publish a package it gives me this error:

Calling Oracle stored procedure with out param of user define type from Entity Framework 5 with code first

Guys i am using Entity Framework 5 code first (I am not using edmx) with Oracle and all works good, Now i am trying to get data from stored procedure which is under package but stored procedure have out param which is user define type, Now my question is
how i will call stored procedure from entity framework

I agree with you, but issue is we have lots of existing store procedure, which we need to call where damn required. I am sure those will be few but still i need to find out.
If you think you are going to get existing MS Stored Procedures or Oracle Packages that had nothing to do with the ORM previously to work that are not geared to do simple CRUD operations with the ORM and the database tables, you have a rude awakening
coming that's for sure. You had better look into using ADO.NET and Oracle Command objects and call those Oracle Packages by those means and use a datareader.
You could use the EF backdoor, call Oracle Command object and use the Packages, if that's even possible, just like you can use MS SQL Server Stored Procedures or in-line T-SQL via the EF backdoor.
That's about your best shot.

Can anyone help me display data from a column within a table which is of a user defined type - a object with 4 elements .
Discoverer wont currently display the data - it says a MAP or ORDER method is required.
The type is declared as :
create or replace type m_p as object
( m_p_id number(9),
m_p_start number,
m_p_end number,
m_p_length number )
and the table is declared as
create table t_m_p (
N_ID NUMBER,
N_PL M_P,
N_ATT VARCHAR2(1)
What do I need to do to allow Discoverer 3.1 to display the data held in the N_PL column?
Also : can anyone tell me if it is possible to display data in Discoverer from a thre dimensional varray? - or would I have to create a view on it?

Discoverer does not currently allow queries to contain the extended Oracle 8 object types. The way to resolve this is to write views that present a relational view of the object structure and then build a business area based on these views

Table OF user defined type in c#

11.1.0.6.20) and I have a procedure which at the moment returns a table of
records. The code below demonstrates this.

I have posted a similar kind of reply in one of the thread which may help u defining the User Defined Tabel /Filed .Just check this Out :
For cm25/CM21 : Assuming that you have all the other set up for Capacity Requirement in place , please note the belwo steps for layout design for CM25 OR cm21 or cm22( all you will be used same overall profile )
1.Make sure that you have proper Overall profile defined in OPD0-Define Overall profile .Here u will define Time Profile , Startegy prfoile . Lay out Profile etc .
2.To paint your layout your soultion is to Goto -CY38-Pop down the menu -Select the Lay out Key which have been used as lay out -Goto Change Mode (Pencil symbol)-Now you will find the fields are high ligheted as per CM25 dipaly in a sequnce -You can un chekcde the Filed like Operation , Operation text , Setup what ever you do not want to show in Order Pool and Hit SAVE butotn and come back .
CM25 --> Settings --> Display Profiles --> Planning tab.profile --> I01 --> Layout ID ( Example : 'SAPSFCLA05') which is Main Capacity Lay out id .
If you goto CY38-Pop down the menu -You will find Main Capcitity Lay out Id : Example SAPSFCAS01 -Enter this lay out and chenage accordingly as I have explained in above
Once you save this , then go back to CM25 and execute with coupe of work centres to check how is the order pool looks now .
Refer this threade for Layout Id and option which u may need for CM25 front end

I am facing issues in searching, my managed metadata service is not running, search results page throws internal error. Any Idea why this above error comes.
