Not signed up for service?

I have the Verizon Wireless USB760 Modem.
The past few days I have received this message:
It appears that you are not currenntly signed up for service. If you are a prepaid mobile broadband customer your seesion may have expired.
Then it asks if I want to sign up and when I say np, it goes away. Lord knows, it continues to charge me for my usage whether it thinks I am a customer or not.
It's just aggratating as I have to sign into myVersion to check my usage.
Does anyone know why I am getting this?
Thanks,
Carolyn

What OS do you have?
have you tried to delete the modem drivers and software etc....then re-install everything?
maybe a virus is messing with your system..
sometimes unplug the modem and plug it back in fix's some problems(might have to do this multiple times)
hopefully a verizon tech will reply to resolve your problem.

  • Find my iPad with 3G but not signed up for service

    Hi,
Has anyone been able to get the "Find my iPad" feature from MobileMe to work on a 3G iPad that isn't signed up for 3G service? I supposed I should just enable my 3G, but I wasn't going to bother until I needed to use my iPad outside of WiFi areas.
I have done everything that is supposed to enable find my iPad (push notifications, enable find my ipad, add a passcode, etc.), but MobileMe just says my iPad is offline. It finds my iTouch just fine with all of the same settings.

Yes, it will even work with 3G off but wifi on. It seems to use a connection (either way) and GPS to located the iPad. I tried it before activing an AT&T account and with cellular data off.

  • Was not informed of new policy when signing up for service and charged for services I did not knowingly agree to.

I’m writing to contest a $29.99 monthly charge, which is contracted for 24 months amounting to $720 in total. The charge is for a data plan which I did not knowingly agree to, and verizon is unwilling to remove from the account even though the phone on the line does NOT use data.
    The backstory of the issue:
On September 19, 2014 I waited in line at an Apple store to purchase a new iPhone on launch day.  I opened a new basic line of service for $9.99 a month on my account so I could purchase a discounted phone from Verizon. When purchasing the phone, the representative explained that he was going to have to put a basic data package on the line for $15 a month, but that it would be removed once I transferred the phone to an existing line on the account.  After the purchase was complete, we transferred the phone to an exisitng line, and the represented confirmed that the data package would not be charged to my account and therefore I would only have to pay $9.99 a month for the basic line of service for two years. A couple weeks pass and I receive my bill, I notice that the data plan is still listed on my account and has also increased to $29.99 a month!  I call Verizon to see what is going on, they tell me that they have just implemented a new policy that states if I purchased a smart phone on a basic account and then transfer the phone to a differnt line that I will have to pay $29.99 a month for data even if the new phone that is currently on the line does not use data! I told them I was not informed of this, and was actually told the complete opposite when signing up for service.  They refuse to remove the data package, and will not let me cancel the account without charging  me $350.  The representative on the phone said that the representative in the store was a sales person and most likely did not have the training to inform them of the new policy change, and that they could not honor what he told me.
I should be able to rely on and trust what a Verizon wireless representative is telling me, I was not aware of the new policy and did not knowingly agree to this policy. And in that case, I would like to point out that I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 15 years humbly request that you clear this $29.99 monthly charge from my account as a gesture of good faith.
I have spent over 7 hours on the phone with verizon trying to get this resolved to no avail. I have also filed a complaint with the attorney generals office, and plan to persue this until it is fully resolved.

    Customer Agreement | Verizon Wireless
This agreement and the documents it incorporates form the entire agreement between us. You can't rely on any other documents, or on what's said by any Sales or Customer Service Representatives, and you have no other rights regarding Service or this agreement.
They gotcha! And that policy change was listed here and other places on the net.
Its either pay that or the early termination fees.
Verizon will not grant you a mistake forgiveness clause.
If they do it for you they would have to do it for everyone.
    Good Luck

  • If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS

If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS?

Right. But as I understand it, the aGPS is a function that speeds location using cell signals, but isn't necessary for the GPS signal. I can buy a plugin device that is a real GPS that I can use with my iPad mini. However, I would need an app for maps. I was wondering if anyone had used one of these.

    Hi howardw93055634,
Please tell me where you are seeing this error message. It's not one that I'm familiar with as being related to Acrobat or Reader. Is it coming from your online fax service, or does it appear when you try to open the PDF file that you received in Acrobat or Reader?

  • Since last software update, pre-paid internet does not work anymore. Get "you have not signed up for a data plan" message. Pre-paid acct is in order! What's up???

I have had  an iPad 3G for more than a year now. I did not get it with a SIM card, since I expected to use almost completely at home, where we have wireless internet. Eventually, I decided  it would be handy to be able to take it on the road, and signed up for pre-paid Internet with KPN (national Dutch telecommunications company). That worked fine, until the last big iPad software update. Since then, whenever I try to make a connection outside the house, I get the following message…
    Mobile Data Account
You have not signed up for a data plan.
Would you like to set up a new account?
If you don’t, you can do it later in Settings.
…with the options of ‘Later’ or ‘Now’ to press. If I press Now, I get a screen “Please wait while the page is loading – this should only take a few seconds to complete.” But it never does, the ball just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning….
To my mind, with pre-paid internet I should not HAVE to set up a Mobile Data Account in the first place. I’ve checked with KPN, and my account is completely in order. I’ve checked with the local Apple store, and the geniuses say they’ve never seen this. Can anyone help me?

I updated to 3.6.4 and when I went to NetFlix to watch the next show of a series, it said
    something like
    Installation complete, restart your browser.
I restarted browser, same problem. Restarted comp. Same problem.
I updated Adobe Flash 10.1, still same problem.
But able to watch some vids on other sites, but full screen gave me the big blank white screen with audio only, had to click around in the dark ( so to speak) to find the minimize button.
I did a System Restore to before the Firefox and Adobe updates.
I then did not update Firefox as recommended and went to NetFlix and wellah, i can view the movies again.
    And Full Screen is fine.
I then experimented and updated Firefox only, went to NetFlix and got same msg with no viewable shows.
So did a System Restore once more.
Staying at 3.6.3 for a while longer until I know I can watch my movies.
I don't own a TV, so this is my only form of an occasional escape.
I do hope this is figured out soon.
With what I have done, it seems to be Firefox, Not Flash.
    Good Luck to us all.

  • I received a text today while at work about iCloud keychain verification code. I have not signed up for it or anything that uses it. I work out of the city with limited internet access so not sure why I would be getting this. Is my info safe??

I received a text today while at work about iCloud keychain verification code. I have not signed up for it or anything that uses it. I work out of the city with limited internet access so not sure why I would be getting this. I only got this number about a month ago. Apparently someone else had the number before because I get texts from his family members wondering whats going on. I got one yesterday and the person didn't seem to thrilled that the number was cutoff and today I got 2 texts about iCloud Keychain which I don't even know what it is. Seems suspicious to me. If the person who use to own the number is doing it he should know it is not his number anymore because he obviously didn't pay his bills.  I'm not too sure about iCloud Keychain so just want to know my info safe?? It says it can store credit card numbers which is what gets me worried. Frankly I think it's pretty stupid to save that kind if information with any kind of app. But I don't want some random person trying to access my personal information because they are bitter they lost their number.  Please let me know as soon as possible so I can change passwords or anything that is needed.
    thanks

If it were me, I would go to my carrier and get a new number. Since you have only had it for a month, the inconvenience would be minimal.

I coud not sign up for apple store , I can not ad my billing information, what is the iTunes Gift ?

By 'could not sign up' and 'can not add my billing information' you mean ... ? Did you get any error messages ?
iTunes gift cards are an alternative way of paying for content from the store. They are not available in all countries and they are country-specific (they can only be used in their country of issue) - so they may not be available where you are, so you may not be able to fill that field in.

  • HT1937 Hi few days ago I bought a second hand iphone 5 white 64 gb, and when I try to activate it I see the following message: "This iPhone can not be activated for service.please contact your carrier or AppleCare"

Hi few days ago I bought a second hand iphone 5 white 64 gb, and when I try to activate it I see the following message: "This iPhone can not be activated for service.please contact your carrier or AppleCare"

So then do what it says...contact Apple or your wireless carrier.
However your phone is probably locked to another carrier and cannot be used on yours.

  • If I sign up for service in store, will I have to pay my first bill then and there?

If I sign up for service in store, will I have to pay my first bill then and there?

That depends on a lot of things - your age, your credit history - are  you porting in from another carrier? taking over an existing Verizon line via Assumption of Liability?  Moving from pre-paid to post paid?  Starting a brand new, never had a cell phone account?
Most likely you'll have to pay something - the device cost, taxes, accessories (if chosen), but the actual service portion is billed.

I bought a MacBook Pro I can not sign up for the updates, because I do not have credit card. Only own debit card, but the system does not accept. What can I do?

You do not need to "sign up" for downloading updates. Just run Software Update and let it access them directly thru the App Store.

  • I have lost my iPad and would like to block it from being reregistered. It is a wifi only and does not have a sim card. I did not sign up for any tracking software either. Can apple block the serial number?

I have lost my iPad and would like to block it from being reregistered. It is a wifi only and does not have a sim card. I did not sign up for any tracking software either. Can apple block the serial number?

    No.
    Apple can do nothing.
You cannot block it from being "registered".
If you did not set up find my ipad before it was lost, then there is nothing you can do but change your passwords.

  • How to stop the message - "You have not signed up for a data plan..."?

    Just purchase iPad2 3G
I keep receiving the "nag" to sign up for a data plan.
How can I stop this from apppearig without signing up?
Just not ready to sign up - I know that might seem strange but I have reasons...
    Thx

I took this problem to a genius.  He removed the SIM card and added a new "blank" card from AT&T.  Using this SIM we went to setting an turned cellular data off.  Then we put the Apple SIM back in the machine.  Now you can turn off the cellular so you will no longer get the messages.  To end this practice, sign up with a carrier.  Just click the button in the Settings... menu.

  • Strange Alert email I did not sign up for

I received an email from [email protected] It says I have 527 products in my profile.  I have two HP products: a Pavilion Desktop and an all-in-one printer.  The subject line is “Recommended Alert for your HP-UX and HP-UX 11.X”. I have no idea what this is.  The email arrived 8/8/2012 6:45 AM.
On the same day, at 5:24 PM, I received an email thanking me for signing up for e-communications.  I never signed up.  A tech in India helped me over the phone to download a BIOS update from HP for my desktop a few days ago but I am not aware he did anything to sign me up for updates on 527 products.
The link on the Alert email takes me to: https://h41183.www4.hp.com/login.php?Country=US&Language=US&URL=Products&Email=b9f4a0da1ca7a07c97cf5...
This is a site for enterprise and SMB customers and I am not one and I cannot sign in here.  I am registered with the HP support community, but that ID/PW does not work at the site the email is linked to.
I do not even know who to ask how this happened or why I got these emails.  It is obviously a mistake.  My email has somehow gotten into someone else's account or something.  Any suggestions?
Also at the end of a very long list of Recommended Updates for products I do not have, there was an update for Product: “Desktop Application Software”  with OS: Windows.  It was HP Update Software Utility ver 5.003.001.001 (25 Jun 2012).  I did download and install this but now fear I should not have as it may conflict with updates that are initiated by HP Support Assistant which was on this computer when I bought it in January of this year.  Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I just received a similar email from [email protected] and I am reluctant to click on the link, as maybe it has a virus.  It says I own two Hp products and it looks like an old laptop that I no longer have
