Note to Steve from an Old School Apple Fanboy!!!

I am a life long Apple user- II, Lisa, Mac Plus, SE, SEII, CI, FX, Quadras, G3, G4, G5, Mac Pros, Final Cuts, Logics, Apertures, iworks, etc... by the dozen!!! Have battled the PC crowd for decades and have defended, served and waved the Apple banner to near fist fights with battles at the local Compusa stores back in the day!!! My kids are all Mac heads with Francisco (6) sporting a 13" MB and his very own Ipad. My 13 year old waited in the first iphone line to equip the whole family (5) with iphones!!! We have then subsequently upgraded to every generation you have released including the 4. We also have a little experience wih smart phones- the first Treo, first RIM email device, Palm, Kyocera, BB, etc!!!!! Needless to say we are committed!!!
But that being said, I have walked around my sphere of influence for the past 3+ years stating that "the iphone is the worst phone on the planet"!!!! The best media device on the planet but the worst "PHONE" I had ever used. I live in Coral Gables, Fl where towers are plentiful but still do understand that my home is located on the fringe of my cell towers. I cannot make a call from my house... but the truth is that almost every call has an issue of one kind or another with 80% of my calls dropping in the greater Miami area as well as several major cities. It has been a joke amongst my friends with one always prodding me that when will I get a real phone??? So, it got so bad that I had to turn my back on the luscious Mac like OS, mobileme and plug and play operability with my macs and bought a Bold. Guess what happen with the Bold??? I was able to make calls from my home and by some miracle calls cease to drop. After 30 days I went back to Iphone ****!! Why? because I am the Ultimate Fanboy & the ability to show my reels on the iphone along with mail, apps, & ipod ultimately won out to making calls.
So, cut-to we buy the 4's in the hopes (same hope that I had from generation to next generation) that this issue would be resolved and much to our disappointment the nightmare continues!!!! I have found myself nearly throwing my phone (which I hold like a girl, finger tips only) at the concrete floor because of the dropped calls. Your impressive presentation today was filled with all kinds of impressive test and comparisons defending your position. While not scientific or recorded in my 100 million dollar lab, my experience is REAL and I am not part of a conspiracy!!! I have over $25K invested in Iphones and the ATT service that goes along with it. I am not happy and your response was less than forthright in my opinion. In fact, it came off arrogant and almost as if I was listening to Bill Gates

Contradictions???
01. While I was on a commercial shoot my son made the line with my assistants brother and purchased 5 phones!!! The first generation phones did not require (was not even offered) in-store activation. If you "Wankerkirby" had owned a gen 1 you would know that!!!
02. Definitely says allot about me!!! Blindly Committed to Apple and it's products. The very same reason the Mac Plus was a revolutionary machine with a revolutionary OS is the same reason the iphone is a revolution. Simply because of the OS I have put up with the poor phone performance. The sum of all the parts has out weighed living on a Korean, Japanesse or PC based operating system.
03. Miami being a major city has plenty of cell sites but it just so happens I live right on the edge of my particular area (island on ocean). My service *****!!!! Therefore, I gave Apple an xtra pass because I was blaming ATT. No longer after the Bold Test.
04. your opinion!!! Again, I put up with it because of reason #2.
05. Yes Bro!!!! $500 X months since Gen 1 = $25K.... but I have finally woken up and have audited my stupidity in putting up with it!!! Apple should deliver on every aspect of their product's performance as well as their partner's performance. It should at least have acceptable phone performance and not suck compared to a "Free" Motorola, LG or Samsung. Recalls, Class action suits, Mass refunds and any other costly campaign is exactly what Apple needs to do!!! I bought the 4 because of the Stainless band!!! I don't want an f-ing bumper!!!!
FINAL- Its is now my opinion that they have always known and have played the odds that no one would complain or that it was an acceptable cost to deal with the % of consumers that would complain. Yes, after the 4th generation and my blind faith that Apple would deliver like they had in the past.. I am now really ******!!!!

    You can sync apps as you normally would, but I do not believe this copies over app specifc data (i.e. saved game status/scores).
    You can always restore your new device with a backup from your old device.

    All my notes on my iPhone 3Gs are not visible on iTunes. With iCloud enabled they still do not sync to my new iPhone. However the opposite occurs. New notes written on my iPhone 5 are syncing back to my 3Gs.

  • Macbook Pro not transferring files from my old Macbook's g-drive that used Snow Leopard...I need help!!

    I just bought a macbook pro yesterday (13 inch) from the Apple Store due to my old 2007 macbook (the 13 inch white one) running slow because of the applications I used. I transferred the old files, and backed all of them up on the 500gb G-Drive external hard drive using time share. I gave the computer to a friend of a friend and no longer have it. When I first turned the new computer on, it gave me the option to restore using a back up disk, like my g drive from timeshare. I chose that and it said it had worked fine. But when I got to the home screen, I couldn't find any of my files. The old computer didn't have lion, it was operating on Snow Leopard. I am trying to figure out how to get my files to show up on my new computer. When I click on my g-drive on my desktop, I see my backups, but all of the folders have the red circle with the negative sign in the middle. I was told to go to disk utility, click on the g-drive and click repair disk, so I did. Still, no progress. I tried using migration assistant and my g-drive wasn't showing, the only icon it showed was the Macintosh HD with the timeshare symbol laying on top of it, I tried doing it that way, again, didn't work. I know how to use a mac, but as far as the technical side, I am truly a beginner. I don't know what to do. I talked to 3 different people from Apple Pro Care over the phone yesterday and they were just as confused as I was. One of them told me that Lion doesn't have Rosetta Stone, so Snow Leopard files cannot transfer into Lion...is this true? I looked up my permissions on my old macbook settings and it said "No" on allowing permissions. If I was told to change it to yes, I would have done that before I gave the computer away. I was on the new computer for over 6 hours yesterday trying to recover my files, still nothing. Can anyone please help?!?! I am really frustrated and lost, any assistance would be greatly appreciated...THANK YOU in advance!!

    They are the same Itunes account (mine), but since I transferred the 'user account' with my Itunes library and other files from old pc to my new MacBook, I now have two 'user accounts' on my MacBook. The original I setup when I got the MacBook and the one I transferred from my pc. I've already went thru most of my photos in Iphoto and named all the faces along with general setup of how I want all my settings on my MacBook under the first user account, I don't want to start over and do it all again with the transferred user account, I just want to move my Itunes library I transferred over to my original user account on my MacBook. Does this make any sense? lol

  • 5.2 update does not send audio from video played via Apple TV to AirPlay-enabled speakers and devices or AirPort Express.

    I just updated my Apple TV to release 5.2, which is supposed to give Apple TV the ability to "Send stereo audio from movies, TV shows, and other videos on Apple TV to AirPlay-enabled speakers and devices (including AirPort Express and other Apple TVs)." Problem is, this does not seem to be the case.
    I have two AirPlay enabled devices:
    1) Bose SoundLink Air
    2) AirPort Express
    In the Apple TV menu, I selected Settings, AirPlay, Bose SoundLink Air. I then played a video; the audio from the video played from my projector's speakers - not from the Bose speaker. I then went back to Apple TV's Settings/AirPlay and selected "Airport Express" (which connected via an aux cable to a speaker)...audio continued to play over my projector's speaker. I can, by the way, play audio on both the Bose and the speaker connected to the Airport Express if I select either of them from the AirPlay menu. 
    Am I doing something wrong, or is the 5.2 update not working as described?

    No. But, are your speakers only connected to the AE or are they also connected to an amplifier?
    You would need to use a Toslink cable to go from the Apple TV to the speakers/amp.

    Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

    When I try to play a video from the camera roll on my iPhone 6 to my Apple TV via airplay, i just get a black screen.  Everything else works using Airplay (photos, youtube vids, netflix, etc.).  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

    I Just tested again and here is a more detailed account of the problem:  when I select a video from the camera roll after turning on AirPlay and selecting Apple tv, I get a message on the phone saying "AirPlay  This movie is now playing on Apple tv". On the tv, I see the first frame of the video as a still image but the audio from the recording plays.

    If you did not backup your "data" then you have no options.
    You have to have the data in order to move the data.

    Backup the 3g by syncing in iTunes. Then connect the new one and sync everything to it from your backup.

    Just to make sure - You're saying you had backed up your iPhone 4. When you plug in the 3GS, and try to "restore" the data from the iPhone 4 backup onto the 3GS, you get that error? Check to see if the iOS version is up-to-date, and hopefully it isn't. It might also be because your iPhone 4 wasn't, and is causing some sort of problem.
