Notes - Maximum Length?

Is there a limit to how many pages a 'note' is on the 3rd gen. nano? I converted a (.pdf) ebook into a txt file and when I synched it to the ipod it cut off at the bottom. What should I do? It's in plain font

Hey there,
"The Notes folder on your iPod can hold very large text files, but iPod can only display up to 1000 files, the first 4 kilobytes (KB) of text, or about 4096 characters will be shown for each note."
This is according to the Apple support document below. Hope this helps.

Recently we upgraded our oracle forms from 10g to 11gR2.
one of the text item has maximum length property defined as 3 (data type is number and format mask is 009). In 10g, in ENTER-QUERY mode, maximum length property check was happening, and user was not allowed to enter more than 3 digits. once the form is upgraded to 11g, in same mode no check is happening. I am aware that in ENTER-QUERY mode, lot of validation won't happen. But client don't want to know all details. He want it to work as it works in 10g. Any help will be appreciated.

  • How do I identify the maximum length of video in iMovie which can be made into a dvd in iDVD, please?

How do I identify the maximum length of video in iMovie which can be made into a dvd in iDVD, please?
I made a sellection of video clips  > pressed on "share" > on iDVD >  after one hour of formating the message was under "project duration"  : "Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window."
I have edited out some of the clips and waited anothe hour or so bu the same message appeared !
I want to know in advance how long can be the video clip sellection for the quality of video chosen ( the best before HD).
    please help if ou can.
    thank you very much indeed.
    Michael

It's trying to tell you to change the encoding setting:
    iDVD encoding settings:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/11417.html
    Short version:
Best Performance is for videos of up to 60 minutes
Best Quality is for videos of up to 120 minutes
Professional Quality is also for up to 120 minutes but even higher quality (and takes much longer)
That was for single-layer DVDs. Double these numbers for dual-layer DVDs.
Professional Quality: The Professional Quality option uses advanced technology to encode your video, resulting in the best quality of video possible on your burned DVD. You can select this option regardless of your project’s duration (up to 2 hours of video for a single-layer disc and 4 hours for a double-layer disc). Because Professional Quality encoding is time-consuming (requiring about twice as much time to encode a project as the High Quality option, for example) choose it only if you are not concerned about the time taken.
In both cases the maximum length includes titles, transitions and effects etc. Allow about 15 minutes for these.
You can use the amount of video in your project as a rough determination of which method to choose. If your project has an hour or less of video (for a single-layer disc), choose Best Performance. If it has between 1 and 2 hours of video (for a single-layer disc), choose High Quality. If you want the best possible encoding quality for projects that are up to 2 hours (for a single-layer disc), choose Professional Quality. This option takes about twice as long as the High Quality option, so select it only if time is not an issue for you.
Use the Capacity meter in the Project Info window (choose Project > Project Info) to determine how many minutes of video your project contains.
NOTE: With the Best Performance setting, you can turn background encoding off by choosing Advanced > “Encode in Background.” The checkmark is removed to show it’s no longer selected. Turning off background encoding can help performance if your system seems sluggish.
And whilst checking these settings in iDVD Preferences, make sure that the settings for NTSC/PAL and DV/DV Widescreen are also what you want.

    HI,
the problem is delimited data defaults to char(255)..... Very helpful I know.....
what you need to two is tell sqlldr hat the data is longer than this.
so change notes to notes char(4000) in you control file and it should work.
    cheers,

    Hi,
Setting row and height is for layout purposes and not for the limiting of text in a TextEdit UI Element.
To ensure that the Text Exit has only 40 characters in 04s - you can do as Alka has suggested.
For doing the same in CE 7.1 - you can use the onChange Action and write code inside that method to limit the number of characters.
I would suggest that you use IWDMessageManager to show a message in the MessageTray whenever the user goes over the limit of 40 characters - rather than accept the whole text and then show some sort of popup.
    Thanks.

I read some where this is due to the SQL * Loader takes default column value to 255 characters. But there is confusion to me how to change the column size in control file because it is object data type. I am not sure this is correct or not.

  • Ctxload error DRG-11530: token exceeds maximum length

I downloaded the 11g examples (formerly the companion cd) with the supplied knowledge base (thesauri), unzipped it, installed it, and confirmed that the droldUS.dat file is there. Then I tried to use ctxload to create a default thesaurus, using that file, as per the online documentation. It creates the default thesaurus, but does not load the data, due to the error "DRG-11530: token exceeds maximum length". Apparently one of the terms is too long. But what can I use to edit the file? I tried notepad, but it was too big. I tried wordpad, but it was unreadable. I was able to create a default thesaurus using the much smaller sample thesaurus dr0thsus.txt, so I confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the syntax or privileges. Please see the copy of the run below. Is there a way to edit the droldUS.dat file or a workaround or am I not loading it correctly? Does the .dat file need to be loaded differently than the .txt file?

    Hi Roger,
Thanks for the response. You are correct. I was confusing the terms thesaurus and knowledge base, which sometimes seem to be used interchangeably or synonymously, but are actually two different things. I read over the various sections of the documentation regarding the supplied knowledge base and supplied thesaurus more carefully and believe I understand now. Apparently, the dr0thsus.txt file that I did ultimately load using ctxload to create a default thesaurus is the supplied thesaurus that is intended to be used to create the default English thesaurus, which supports ctx_thes syn and such. The other droldUS.dat file that I mistakenly tried to load using ctxload is the supplied compiled knowledge base that supports ctx_doc themes and gist and such. In the past I have used ctx_thes.create_thesaurus to create a thesaurus, but using ctxload can also load a thesaurus from a text file with the data in a specified format. Once a thesaurus is loaded using ctxload, it can then be compiled using ctxkbtc to add it to the existing compiled knowledge base. So, the knowledge base is sort of a compilation of thesauri, which is what led to my confusion in terminology. I think I have it all straight in my mind now and hopefully this will help anybody else who searches for the same problem and finds this.
    Thanks,

  • XML data value exceeds maximum length - ORA-30951

    Hello,
I am receiving ORA-30951: Element or attribute at Xpath /dataroot/Respondent[1]/Response[3]/Value exceeds maximum length error during the XML load.
I have registered the schema and it works fine when the Value is less than 64k but fails if its greater. I tried changing the type of Value to type="xsd:base64Binary" xdb:maintainDOM="false" xdb:SQLName="LOB_DATA" xdb:SQLType="BLOB" but then I get ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes error.
Can someone please let me know what I am doing wrong or is there a way I can load more than 64k length elements on 10g?
    Thanks

  • Sqlldr - filler columns exceeds maximum length

    Hi All,
    DB version : 10.2.0.1.0
We are getting a CSV file with 127 fields. We require to load first 9 fields and the 127th field using SQLLDR. What is the best way to specify this in Control file?
    Currently we are giving like
       C10 filler,
       C11 filler,
       C127 filler,
       column_name
       1. Is there any other better approach available?
    2. We are gettiing issues when, filler columns exceeds maximum length. We tried to give like
                  c10 char(4000) filler  ,
But it gives sybtax error. What is the work around for this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeneesh
Please note that using EXTERNAL TABLEs or other methods is not feasible for us.

    Hi jeneesh,
    Did you try,
    c10 filler char(4000)from docs
The syntax for a filler field is same as that for a column-based field, except that a filler field's name is followed by FILLER.Best regards

  • SQL Loader - data exceeds maximum length

I am having an issue with SQL Loader falsely reporting that a column is too long in a CSV upload file. The offending column, Notes, is defined in the staging table as VARCHAR2(1000). The text in the Notes column in the upload file for the record that is being rejected is only 237 characters long. I examined the raw data file with a hex editor and there are no special cahracters embedded in the column. The CSV upload was recreated but the false error remains.
Any ideas what to check? Any suggestion appreciated.

  • ORA-30951: ...exceeds maximum length

    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
I am new to XML and having a problem importing data using the XML Repository. I have annotated the schema and validated it using XML Spy. I am able to register the schema w/o errors. I am now working through the issues as they occur during the insertion of xml documents. Thes section below is giving me an error (bottom) that the data exceeds the maximum length. The "DATA" in the xml doc is a pdf file that has been converted to characters by some method. The size element has a data value of 5008. Seems to be too long for a varchar2. I tried RAW, CLOB, BLOB. I was pretty sure they wouldn't work and they didn't. I get an error that the xml/xdb types are incompatible.
How can I modify the schema to get this element to load?
Is it possible to tell oracle to ignore an element so I can eliminate those that are not critical? This would be very helpful.
    Thanks!

While this did register and I was able to load a record, I am guessing that this will render the data for this element usless but at least the record loads. I'll still need to resolve this issue as the .pdf data is important.

  • How to set the maximum length that a user can enter in Msgstyledtextinput

    Hi Everyone,
I'm currently using EBS 11.5.1 and 10.2g DB
Is there a way that I can set the maximum length that a user can input?
I changed the Maximum Length to lower number (from 150 to 100) but I get the following error.
Developer Mode Exception encountered in item SaveLocation
Error: The item SaveLocation has a maximum length (100)
which is not equal to that of the corresponding VO attribute
           , SaveLocation length (150).
Action: Make sure they are equal in size. There must be other way to set that value
    Thanks,
    Elmer

You have to set the maximum length of column to 150 to avoid this error.
You can set the same in Jdev.

  • Is there a maximum length for a custom expression?

Is there a documented maximum length of a custom expression in a sync rule? I have been unable to find one and as of yet, have not hit one. But for curiosity's sake, I was wondering if there is a limit?
    Thanks

    Hello FIM-EN,
Custom Expression of Synchronization rules are saved to two attributes: Initial Flow and Persistent Flow.
Both are "Indexed string", so theoretically, the length is unlimited.
