Notifications : Web Mobile App & sync

Hi,
Testing intensively SocialCast everyday I noticed something about notifications like some desynchronisation.
1) a SC page is opened in my computer web browser
2) SC is installed on my Android device (running in background)
I always have notifications pending on my mobile phone, but for a reason that I can't explain clearly some doesn't appear on in the notification icon on my computer.
And I only receive notifications when somebody post me a pvt msg and/or if I'm quoted in a comment.
I thought, for example, that if I started any conversation in any group, projet I would be notified (not only by email) about every comment written then. Same thing if I comment post and someone comment this post after me.
A kind of Facebook behaviour.
Is it a normal behaviour ? Is it because I ticked every checkbox in email notifications so that I only receive emails and not real-time notification on the web ? Is it something else ?
It appears quite important to me, since I follow many groups and many people, I realize that I miss some conversations if I don't check my emails... which is not the opposite goal to get when having a tool like SC :-)

The in-app orange notification icon is not 100% in sync with email notifications at this time -- however, we are planning to make enhancements to how notifications work in the coming months. Please stay tuned.
As for the Android app, push notifications are only available for @mentions, private messages and broadcast messages.

Does firefox mobile app sync and save passwords?

I am just wondering if firefox home saves online passwords and uses a master password. if yes how do I access? If no is there a mobile password app that plays well with firefox home?

Sorry, Firefox Home for iOS does not sync or save passwords. If you want to sync passwords from Firefox to your iPhone/iOS device, you'll need to use a third-party program like LastPass: https://lastpass.com/

Using spry to do a mobile app

Hi you all. I am thinking about doing a web mobile app. I have been looking around on many free mobile frameworks. The thing is i dont have time to teach myself new frameworks. I already have a good working knowledge and experience of the spry framework and know that spry is great for working with dynamic data and my app will be a data centric app.
In all honesty do you think spry is a good framework to do a mobile app or shoould i use one of these other.

1. Try to doGoods receipt/issue in dialog mode for the failed DN and enter the data that woukd have been entered in BDC, you may find what is missing.
2. Look for any applicable OSS messages for ME 021 error.
or
3. If possible create SM35 sessions ( by modifying the program ) for the failed DNs and process those sessions in foreground, you will find the reason.

Integrating a PHP Web App with an Existing Azure Mobile Services and Mobile App

I've got an existing mobile app that is integrated with Azure's mobile services. The mobile services are currently connected to Azure Active Directory with MFA enabled. I'd like to build a separate PHP-based web application (Azure VM) that uses this existing
mobile service and authentication.
I reviewed the Azure PHP SDK, but didn't see any tie-ins to the Mobile Service. Additionally, Azure has some great tutorials, but for mobile services they all seem to focus on iOS, Android, and Windows phone. Any insight into how to tie a PHP-app into this
backend would be much appreciated!

Although there isn't any client library for PHP, you can still access Mobile Service using the
Azure Mobile Service REST API.

Is there a way to show my Flex mobile app in a browser? either on a web page or standalone is ok.
I'm using Flash Builder 4.6 to build a mobile app for iOs (iphone 4) and when I debug it, it shows the program in a window like the phone,
Is there a way to wrap this up and give it to someone to run in a Flash-player-browser-like window?

You can do something similar to this by using Export Release Build and instructing FB to Export as "Signed AIR Package for installation on desktop"
This will create a file that can be installed on a computer and behaves much like a debugger execution. A few caveats are that the user will need to resize the window manually to match a "phone size" and mobile features (camera, gps, accelerometer, etc) will either be unavailable or behave very differently than on an actual phone (depending on your code implementation).
Still, for most apps, this will give your audience a good feel of what your app will be like when released on the phone market/store.

Lync 2013 not syncing conversations with mobile apps

Straight to the point, is there any way to sync conversations started on the pc client with the lync mobile app (iOS, Android..)? I've been doing some research and found that this was to be done on the updated version of the mobile app, but at the moment
we haven't been able to do so.
From what we've experienced, if we are connected on the two devices at the same time (PC and mobile), Lync will take the PC as the default and messages will be delivered to the pc client without any notice to the mobile app even though it's connected too.
So, if I get out of my desk and take the phone with me so that people could reach me through Lync, I'll have to sign off from the pc client so that the messages can be directed to my phone app.
Is there a way for changing this or this is the way it works for now? This happens not only for iPhone but for Android devices too.

Lync Server send IM to the currently most active endpoint.

I don't know if you fixed it already by this time or not. But here is my findings anyway, to be able to inject the security header correctly in any SOA Gateway service, you need to have your Mobile Application Secured, meaning that there is a prompt for username/password when you open it.
Then you will have to make a Proxy service for the webservice you are using from apps. And you must create it with a SOAP Handler also and write below sample code in the handler to inject the security header in the SOAP call. At last, you are going to deploy this proxy service to your Application Server.
These steps were taken on a Glassfish server not Weblogic. I think there is an easy way for this if you are using Weblogic..

Mobile app based on web service data control and VO with VC runtime error

Jdev 11.1.2.3.0 + mobile extension.
Windows 7, 64 bit.
Reproduceable with Android emulator but not on iOS and iOS emulator.
I can not test on real Android device because we do not have it in our office.
So I don't know wether this issue is related to android emulator only or to android in general.
Also not reproduceable by Oracle support.
I have a VO "Employees" with a VC "department_id = :departmentIdVariable" and exposed the find method for this VO via service interface in AM.

In a ADF mobile app I create a parameter form and amx:listView like demoed in the mentioned video.
Whenever I test this app on android emulator I get the error below.
Exact the same page used in a second feature works fine.
I found out that the problem only occures on the first attept (this means when I open the page on the second feature first then this will fail and the subsequent call of the first page will be successfull).
The problem does not occure when the web service data control does not contain a method based on VC with bind variable.

Does anyone has seen the above error ?
I have recreated the model and mobile app more than 20 times, re-installed Jdev, re-created Jdev settings (integrated WLS & Co), ran the web services on a different machine.
On my site this problem is 100% reproduceable with android emulator.

Hi, Peter, this could be an issue with proxy server setting. Are you behind a firewall when you test this?
iOS simulator would use Mac's proxy setting. Android Emulator has its own proxy setup - it's a bit complicated to get to and varies based on the Android emulator you are using. For 4.1 emulator (you should always use 4.x or above emulators), you would need to go into the emulator itself, and go to settings - Wireless & Networks - click More... - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names. You should see an Access point used by the emulator to simulate network connection. Mine says "T-Mobile US". You click on it, and then you can select the proxy attribute and set it according to your office's settings.

Creating web page now, want mobile app later. Best practices?

I've been writing actionscript on and off for a long time now, but have always used the Flash IDE. I'm hoping to build my next project using Flex Builder because I'm more of a code jockey than a designer. I've got Flex Builder 3.
I'm involved with a modest mobile game project. We're hoping to build a simple game and it seemed logical to do a quick-and-dirty version of the game in actionscript so the project members and a select audience might be able to evaluate the game dynamics in a browser before we spend a gazillion dollars building the game for iPhone and Android platforms.
It is my sincerest hope that I might develop my code in Actionscript and MXML and use this code to build mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android without having to rewrite everything in Objective C or Java or whatever other language might be in play at the time we get it finished.
Q1: Is this possible?
Q2: Can anyone sketch out for me an overview of the process whereby one exports a Flex project to a mobile app platform?
Q3: Can any seasoned developers tell me the big "gotchas" to watch out for? For instance, I'd hate to incorporate a component that would not export to one of the mobile platforms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your helpful post. That's encouraging to know that I might be able to get the Flex 4.5 SDK without upgrading my IDE. I'm a big fan of Eclipse and am considering trying to just use Eclipse with a Flex plugin. I certainly hope I might be able to download the latest eclipse and install a 4.5SDK plugin. Might as well shoot straight for the latest SDK, right? It would be great to avoid the $300 investment.
From your post, it sounds as though the Flex 4.5 sdk will be required for one to access the mobile phone features (gps, camera, accelerometer, etc.) which makes sense. The ability to go actionscript->mobile was only recently announced. Personally I think this capability is brilliant on Adobe's part.
I'm still wondering about the "best practices" aspect. Obviously the idea of a mouseover does not apply in the context of a touchscreen. As I recall, the events exposed by Cocoa Touch (or other touch screen APIs/libraries) don't have the same Mouse/Pointer events as the AS3 that I know. The point of this post (which is working well so far thanks for the input) is to try and make sure that I avoid building an app which uses features unavailable in a mobile context. I'm starting to wonder if skipping the web page advice is being given because they mobile and web page paradigms are so different.
I still assert that the web page stage would be much easier to bring in testers -- meaning non-technical people who wouldn't know the first thing about installing an app on their phone. I'm talking about an audience of dozens or possibly hundreds and just can't provide them all guidance about getting the app installed.

Local files not syncing to mobile app

I have local files on my desktop synced and can listen to them there; however when I click on local files on the mobile app it says it's currently empty. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot? Make an new playlisg called "Local Files" and then copy all local files into this playlist.
Then go into that playlist in the iOS app and switch on the "available offline" switch.
Does that start the sycning process? Make sure both devices are on the same WiFi network

Removing Birthday Notifications on iPhone Mobile App

PLEASE PLEASE provide an option to disable birthday notifications on the mobile app for iPhone. It is a terrible UX to not be able to remove these and get constant messages for birthdays. What's worse is that even after you delete the unwelcomed notifications, they will reappear all day until the birthday has passed. I mean what is the point of being able to disable them on your desktop/laptop if you can't do it on your mobile device, too?

This is ridiculous. It seems to be impossible to turn this 'feature' off on iOS devices. That is annoying. But what is worse... I put in my date of birth on the Skype settings page the birthday becomes 'Public' by default, with no option to make it private. I dont' want to broadcast my birthday as it often forms part of other sites' ID authentication. I have been using this service for nearly ten years. If this is the sort disregard for privacy that will increase under Microsoft's ownership then I'll be off somewhere else. Please fix this issue. It is unaccptable that you continue to ignore this forum on your own site.

MFA Server - User portal and mobile app web server should be installed where?

Hi. We are in the process of testing the Multi-Factor Auth server and are currently using it for two-factor authentication to RDS for a couple of users. At the moment we are only using the phone call/text options but I'd like to get the mobile app portion
working to test. Also still need to implement the user self-service portal for testing.
Currently I have a vm that was dedicated to MFA where the Multi-Factor Authentication Server software was installed. Now though I'm a bit confused as to if its safe to install the user portal and mobile app web service portion on this same machine
or if they should go on a different server(s)? Currently the box is internal but I'm guessing if it has also act as the web server we would stick it behind the TMG for external inbound access. Is external access to the primary MFA server ok?
What's the best practice for separation of the MFA roles; or is there none and its fine to just put it altogether?

You have a dedicated MFA server and if you install User Portal on the same server as the MFA Server, it uses RPC to communicate with the MultiFactorAuth service locally.
If the User Portal is installed on a different server, it must connect via the Web Service SDK. You can use either a username/password of a service account that is a member of the PhoneFactor
Admins security group, or you can configure client certificates. If using the username/password, you can encrypt the appSettings section of the web.config file if desired.
Under Inetpub\wwwroot\MultiFactorAuth when you edit the web.config file you need to make sure these values are set.

Sap fiori app, is it mobile app or app works in mobile browser, for receiving notifications

is fiori app is a real mobile app, or is it purely application that works on mobile browser.
we have installed sap fiori client from google playstore. configured sap fiori client with fiori launchpad url, so we are able to access the fiori app.
if we want to develop fiori mobile app to work like news app, for e.g. a notifications should be received to the mobile user, even without mobile user explicitly opening the sap fiori client app. e.g. incase of news app, when the mobile user gets notification, then clicks on the notification, this opens the news app.
can we achieve/develop sap fiori app, which can send the notifications to mobile users.
our customer wants notifications like "Your leave request approved" to their employees on their mobile, as soon as the leave is approved by manager.
currently our customer can see only when they manually launch fiori launchpad from their mobile.

Notifications section in mobile app (like on PC).

It would be great if you could add a notification counter (just like on the PC version), to read all missed notifications in the mobile App. Because sometimes you delete them from your status bar by mistake.

I noticed also that the email notification for changed playlist is very poor not user friendly:
