Thanks for the reply Ravi -Ravi
I defined the RTF template and getting the PDF/ EXCEL/HTML/FO AND XML output for the report as I mentioned
'Well this will get you 'Excel' and 'RTF' reports by changing completion 'Fromat' option at SRS'.
We can achieve EXCEL / RTF FORMAT output by setting 'VIEWER: TEXT'T to 'BROWSER'. This will make all other reports ( non XML) to be viewed in browser, which we want to avoid. We still want to Non-XML reports in the same request group to be viewed in default report viewer where it displays the output by page by page.

  • How to create a xml element for Text with Java?

    Hi @ all,
    I want to tag a part of a text with Java.
    Like the InDesign function "Tag für Text" (maybe "tag for text" in english)
    Is there a way to tag text with Java?
    I tried to autoTag and to markup the text with an existing xml, but only got IdsExceptions.
    here the code where to tag the text:
    XMLElement newXML = parentXML.addXMLElement(VariableTypeUtils.createString("newXML"),OptArg.noVariableType());
    Text[] texts = para.findText(OptArg.noBoolean());
    for (Text text : texts)
       //TODO tag text
    Exception throwing code:
    text.autoTag();
    text.markup(newXML);
    newXML.markup(VariableTypeUtils.createObject(text));

  • Open in Browser for Text

    Is it possible to highlight text, enter the link and have the option to "Open in Browser"? Or do I have to create a box over the text and link the box.
    I ask because when we trasfer our iPad app to Android (the "Lazy Susan" way) the links do not work unless they are "Open in Browser". Has this problem been fixed?
    Thank you

  • Filter XML Data for Text Fields.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to display a single record out of an XML database
    into dynamic fields in my MovieClip. I need to be able return a
    single record based on the current time. Attached is a sample of my
    XML data.
    I was wondering if this could be acheived with a DataSet
    filterFunction? If it is possible, what code would I need to
    include?
    Finally, do I need to pass my full DataSet to an array or do
    I need to filter first & then pass to an array?
    Thankyou.
    Elton Bernardson.

    There's a pattern that almost every wpf dveloper uses and it's called mvvm.
    Google it, there'll be a shed load of articles.
    It's a passive view pattern in that the view has minimal logic in it.
    The view is your window ( or usercontrol).
    You can add a listboxitem to the listbox.items collection but i would only do  that if it's a very simple static collection.
    You can bind a collection to itemssource and the listbox will create a listboxitem for each things it gets from that collection.
    It creates them using a datatemplate.
    When you do that binding apparently directly to a collection a collectionvie is automagically created between control and collection.
    You can explicitly create one of those collectionview things yourself and this is agreat way to filter and sort.
    You can also use one of those collectionviews to navigate the collection setting the current item in the viewmodel.
    That can be synced in the view so you select an item from the viewmodel.
    I think I probably drifted off topic there somewhat.
    Mvvm is probably different from stuff you've done before.
    It's easier to do a bunch of things using mvvm plus it's what any prospective employer will want.
    Along with tdd/bdd it's industry standard.
    Big tip: learn it.
    You want to avoid showing a user a huge load of data. Not so much for performance reasons but because users can only cope with so much data at a time.
    Hope that helps.

  • [CS3][JS] Apply XML tag for selected text

    Hi
      I need to apply XML tag to selected text in a tagged content.The XML tag is already applied for paragraph.I need to apply XML Tag for selected text in a paragraph.
    I have used following code, it applies tag for entire paragraph,not a selected text in a paragraph.
    app.selection[0].associatedXMLElements[0].markupTag=myDoc.xmlTags.item("italic");
    Please suggest me.

    The example script, markup.jsx

    function main(){

        var myTextFrame = myPage.textFrames.add({geometricBounds:myGetBounds(myDocument, myPage)});
        myTextFrame.contents = "This is the first paragraph in a text frame.\rThis is the second paragraph in a text frame.\rThis is the third paragraph in a text frame.\rThis is the fourth paragraph in a text frame.\r";

        var myY2 = myPageHeight - myPage.marginPreferences.bottom;
        return [myY1, myX1, myY2, myX2];
    I think you can use the markup function on the selected item (Text Object have a markup method)

  • Alert Content for text without any XML tag

    Hi All,
    For the XML workflow,
    Need a alert content or select content for the text without any xml tag.
    Please help for my XML job request.
    Regards
    Siraj

    Hi All,
    New to XML, just learning stage only.
    Already I asked and got the coding through forum. It alert text frame ID only.
    But, guide me how to get the
    1. alert or select the contents.
    2. alert the page number or select text frame etc.
    Coding is below:
    #target InDesign
    #include "/Applications/Adobe InDesign CS6/Scripts/Xml Rules/glue code.jsx"
    main();
    exit();
    function main() {
              var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
              var myStories = myDoc.stories.everyItem().getElements();
              var idArray = new Array(0);
              var storyArray = new Array(0);
              // store all stories of the document in an array
              for(var j=0; j < myStories.length; j++) {
                        storyArray.push(myStories[j].id);
    // *** here start the XML-Rules ******************************//
              var elements = myDoc.xmlElements;
              var myRuleSet = new Array(
                        alleObj = new all(idArray)
              __processRuleSet(elements.item(0), myRuleSet);
    // *** here stop the XML-Rules *******************************//
              for (var i=0; i < idArray.length; i++) {
                        for (var k=0; k < storyArray.length; k++) {
                                  if (idArray[i] == storyArray[k]) {
                                            storyArray[k] = -1;
              for (var i=0; i < storyArray.length; i++) {
                        if (storyArray[i] > 0) {
                                  alert(storyArray[i]);
                        }          // if …

  • Haven't been able to use Safari Browser for months, it keeps crashing seconds after I launch it

    I haven't been able to use my Safari Browser for months. Each time I launch it, it crashes.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
    For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
              SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
    from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
    In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
    Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
    The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
    Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
              DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
    (not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
    I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
    If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
    In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
    Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
    When you post the log extract or the crash report, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

  • Can a ComboBox be used for Text Input ?

  • Browsing for a file and selecting a Virtual Machine on hyper-v

    Hi everyone, sorry if the title is a bit problematic.
    New to Powershell here, I'm trying to create a script that will let me Browse for a .vhd file, and then let me select a Virtual Machine to attach it to using SCSI attachment.
    So far I managed to attach and detach the VHD files using add-vmharddiskdrive, but using read-host I have to manually enter the address of the .vhd file every time, as well as using read-host to input the VM name.
    Is there any way to browse for the file, select it, and then run the add-vmharddiskdrive command?
    So far the script I have is this:
    $VHDLocation = Read-Host Enter VHD Location
    $VMName = Read-Host Enter VM Name
    Add-VMHardDiskDrive -VMName $VMName -Path $VHDLocation -ControllerType SCSI
    Basically I want to shorten the time it takes to manually type the vhd location and the VM name. Any way to do that?
    Sorry for long post, thanks everyone in advance, have a nice day :)

    I couldn't get the Select-fromgridview to work sadly, but after snooping around on several different forums I managed to copy-paste some codes and after some work and trial and error I got the script to work perfectly, except for one problem. When the box
    pops up to let met select a VM, it pops in the background, as in, behind the ISE itself. So I have to alt tab to see it. Is there any way to make it pop to the front?
    I'd go through the script myself but like I said I'm very new to this and honestly most of this could be Chinese for all I know.
    Again thanks in advance!

  • Named file entity do not load in from xml files(eg., !DOCTYPE PURANA SYSTEM "purana.dtd" [ !ENTITY CHAPTER_1 SYSTEM "./chapter_1.xml" ] ?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="purana.xsl"? PURANA TITLE /TITLE &CHAPTER_1; /PURANA )

    I create several file name entities in an external DTD.
    It used to work sometimes back but I don't remember now when it begun to fail.
    typical document for eg., is given below:
    <!DOCTYPE PURANA SYSTEM "purana.dtd" [ <!ENTITY CHAPTER_1 SYSTEM "./chapter_1.xml"> ]>
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="purana.xsl"?> <PURANA>
    <TITLE>
    </TITLE>
    &CHAPTER_1;
    </PURANA>)
    the abbreviation used to work by loading the file using XSL script,
    but now it does not even work when the entity is defined within the XML document itself.

    Too difficult???
    Please helped me.
    Thank you, Theo

  • Best external monitor for text editing

    Hi all - I have a 2011 MBP and want to connect it to an external monitor (+ mouse and keyboard) for text editing and web browsing. Text clarity is very important to me. First I've tried to connect  a mainstream Acer monitor, and then Lenovo ThinkVision eIPS LT2452pwc at work, and in both cases Mac fonts looked somewhat "fuzzy" where Windows and Linux fonts looked nice and sharp. In all cases I've used native screen resolution. There is nothing wrong with Laptop either (I tried a couple), and it has probably to do with different antialiasing algorithm that Apple is using, which looks good on higher pixel density laptop panels, but not that great on exteranal monitors.
    So... any advice from those using Macs with external monitor for text tasks? Obviously there are Mac displays, but I have some concerns about the glare. Then  I heard good feedback about Dell UltraSharp and NEC IPS monitors. Trully appreciate your input for somebody new to Mac.

    Yes, I did get Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM. I am happy with it with one caviat (which would be the same for 27 Apple monitor). The picture quality is absolutely amazing - the text is very shart and clear, I can't imagine it to be better. The color is very good and natural, plenty of brigtness and contrast to produce a good picture in any light conditions, plus *no glare* screen surface, arguably making this monitor better than the Apple monitor.
    The somewhat unexpected caviat is that since this monitor packs pretty high resolution in a 27" screen, the text appears smaller than on most other monitors (but would be the same as on Apple 27" monitor). It even *appears* smaller than on my 13" Macbook Pro, however at closer examination, that turned out to be not true. The text on the monitor is actually bigger than on laptop, but looks smaller since typically the external monitor is farther away from the eyes than a laptop monitor.
    At first I wanted to return the monitor and exchange for smaller and lower DPI (read bigger text) 24" Ultrasharp, but then got used to my 27" monitor and decided to keep it. Hope this helps.

  • XML parsing problems with Oracle XML parser for PL/SQL

    I am using the Oracle XML parser for PL/SQL to transform XML into HTML usign XSL. The parser gives me sporadic errors trying to parse various XML documents. For the same XML source, the XMLPARSER will parse without errors one day and the next day will give me errors such as "invalid char in text", "Expected ';'.", or even Java null pointer exceptions.
    I have verified that the XML sources are well formed, so I am pretty certain that the problems I am having are bugs in the XMLPARSER.
    Is there going to be a XML parser for PL/SQL version 2 that will fix these bugs? If so, when??? If not, is there anything else I could do to fix these problems?
    Thanks!

    You can use the latest version.

  • XML Parser for PL/SQL - charset

    Hi,
    I'm using XML Parser for PL/SQL and have some trouble with encoding of results xmldom.writeToBuffer and xmldom.writeToCLOB procedures.
    Some tags in my DOM documents contain text values in RUSSIAN (server nls_charset is CL8ISO8859P5). When I write document in varchar2 variable, buffer content is in UTF8 encoding ( convert UTF8->CL8ISO8859P5 -OK).
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'ISO-8859-5') just after xmldom.newDOMDocument has no effect.
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'CL8ISO8859P5') has no effect also.
    Explicit charset direction in third parameter of
    xmldom.writeToBuffer and xmldom.writeToCLOB procedure has no effect.
    When I write document in CLOB, and then read part of CLOB in varchar2 buffer - result contain '?' in place of all russian text characters.
    What's a problem?
    How can I force XML Parser write XML in server charset?
    Platform:
    Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.6.1.0
    JServer Release 8.1.6.1.0
    Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL v 1.0.2

    I have the same problem. But in my case I am allowed only to use XML Parser for PL/SQL.
    Characterset 'WE8ISO8859P1' is used. And the language is latvian.
    After parsing a XML document and printing its contents, all latvian characters are replaced by "f".
    xmldom.setcharset(doc,'WE8ISO8859P1') has no effect.
