    Hi,
there are a lot of option to make plsql web services .
First you can stay with jdev 10.1.3
    Use the xmldb servlets
use jdev 11g tp4 to create plsql ws and upgrade to jdev 11g production
And I think in the next release of jdev it will be back , there are more options which disappeared like the adf bc sdo ws or jmx datacontrol etc.
    thanks Edwin

  • Support for Creating Web Service from pl/sql package in JDeveloper 11

We have been creating all of our web services from pl/sql packages in our Oracle database using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. I understand that this capability is not supported in Jdev 11. We have been mandated to either move up to JDeveloper 11, or consider switching to eclipse, or even VS2008 and run .NET services from IIS. I have seen work-around solutions using TopLink and Jdev 11. Are there plans to revive this feature in the near future? We're now looking at switching to .NET since we could scrap our OAS instances and use IIS to publish web services. The only reason we were sticking with Oracle was the ease in converting all our existing package to web services with Jdev.
Is anyone else in the same situation. If so, what solutions are you considering?

  • Problem accessing JDev Generated Web Service on PL/SQL Package

    Hi,
I'v generated a web service from a pl package using the wizard in JDev for use with Adobe Flex builder. Adobe says they support two types of web services, WSDL 1.1 RPC-Encoded and Document-literal. When I create the web service as Document literal, I am able to consume the web service without errors, however, adobe cannot parse the xml because of the namespace tags. I then created an RPC-encoded type of webservice but then when I run my Flex application, it gives following error:
    [WSDLError faultString="Type tns1:text_xml not resolvable" faultCode="WSDL.BadType" faultDetail="null"]
         at mx.rpc.soap::WSDLParser/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::parseMessage()

         at mx.rpc.soap.mxml::Operation/send()

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

  • Handling Web Service's End Point URL in ADF

    Hi experts,
Would like to seek for advice on handling the availability of the End Point of a Web Service.
I'm tying to catch the availability of the URL but, it seems that they are throwing different exception.
Case 1: End Point URL (in enterprise manager) : set to Blank.
    - This is OK
Case 2: End Point URL (in enterprise manager) : put prefix in the URL
    - ex. aaaahttp://<wsdl URL>
    - This will throw a malformed URL exception and will not proceed.
Case 1: End Point URL (in enterprise manager) : put suffix in the URL
    - ex. http://<wsdl URL>BBBBBBBBB
    - for some reason, even if I put a suffix in the endpoint URL, the URL is still valid. But in reality, it should be invalid.
Now, For this 3 cases, I would like to have a standard exception/error message. Do you think it's possible considering the behavior of the web service? Any tips would be gladly appreciated.
    Thanks...

    Hi,
    C) in fact is a valid URL, only that it has not matching WS endpoint. So beforte invoking a WS you wouldneed to test a URL call to the URL to see if this is answered. However, there is a case D) you don't mention which is when http://<wsdl URL>BBBBBBBBB references a valid URL (but just the wrong from the perspective of the WS you use it with. How do you handle this case ?
Here's some code snippet you can use to access the connection from within the WS client
    Context ctx = ADFContext.getCurrent().getConnectionsContext();
    WebServiceConnection wsc = (WebServiceConnection) ctx.lookup("MyAppModuleService");
wsc. (...)"MyAppModuleService" is the name of the connection.xml entry for the Web Service connection you created at design time.

  • Document style Web Service the standard?

    Hi,
A colleague of mine just told me that we should not be building RPC style web services since document style are the standard now. Is this true? I couldn't find any such phrase in WS-I BP 1.0.
If this is not true then is it even a possiblity that in future Document style will be the standard?
    Thanks, Sid.

In this context I think your friend is using 'standard' to mean 'reasonably common and quite trendy at the moment'.
RPC based WS was a bad idea in because it destroys some of the loose coupling you gain using WS rather than say, CORBA, which is the number three reason for using WS. (number one being your boss spent lots of money on the tools and would look silly if you don't use them, and number two being WS tunnelling through firewalls).

  • Is web service the right choice

    Hi,
I need to supply the large amount of data (avg. million records) to third party. How can I transfer such large size data? I am thinking of using a table to hold the records keys and then using chunks of keys to query and compose data to return partial data each web service call. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks

You have to ask yourself the following questions before deciding whether a web service is the right solution.
    Is this a one-off extract?
How often will the extract run?
Does the customer have a client capable of calling a web service?
What governance, compliance, or standards does your organisation already have?
Just how big is "a few million records"?
Does the customer need the feed/extract/data on an ad-hoc basis or only at pre-defined times?
Do you already have an enterprise environment or architecture that supports web services?
Personally, from what you've said, I wouldn't see it as a candidate for a web service. It sounds like a bulk extract sent via ftp (or similar) to an end point for a customer/system to pick up.

  • Is Web-Services the only way to trigger Workflow on Time-Based conditions?

    <p>
    Here is the requirement:
When a Custom Object's record is set to a specific status and it hasn't been modified in 7 days an email should be sent to the owner to notify them to update the record.
Any thoughts on how we can do this?
    Thanks,

Tim, I would recommend that you post this question on the CRM On Demand Integration Development forum. Also, some of our On Demand partners are capable of creating this functionality with web services.

  • How much play should there be in the end end of the lens away from the camera body?

I have an EF 16-35 mm 2.8 L II USM lens that has some use, but not extensive. The end of the barrel seems to have an unreqasonable (to me) amount of play in it. How much should I put up with?

There will be some movement.  This is normal but without actually seing it, our judgement of what is too much may be different.

  • Webm loads completely before playing and starts playhead at the end

    Hi,
We are trying to figure out playback of our WebM videos in Firefox. Looking at the native video player by going directly to a video url we have some strange behavior.
We have found that the browser seems to download the entire video before beginning playback. When the video finally does download and playback, we find that often the playhead will be placed at the end of the video. If the playhead is not at the end of the video, you can't just click play, you have to click a position in the "timeline" to get the video to begin playing.
Ideally, the behavior would be that the video beings playback as it starts to download from the beginning of the file.
We are encoding the videos with FFMPEG using libvorbis and libvpx. We server our content from Amazon Cloudfront, but can also test from a lighttpd server (same behavior).
Please let me know if you would like more information and thank you for your help!

  • Urgent - Error calling web service generated from plsql package

    Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3 production release.
I am trying to publish a plsql packaged procedure as a web service.
    My first question is -
When I am publishing the plsql API as a WS, should I choose the style Document/Wrapped or RPC Literal? Document Wrapped is the default in the wizard.
My second question - Depending on whether I choose Document/Wrapped or RPC Literal style, I get 2 different errors when I try to run the client java file (generated by Jdeveloper) that calls the web service. The client java compiles successfully but when I run I get these messages:

Now all the classes are generated by JDeveloper automatically from the plsql API. So I am not sure why the errors occur and how to fix these.
Also, these errors are occurring on plsql APIs that have input or output parameters of plsql record type or pslql table of record type. These errors don't occur if the api is simple with scalar input or output parameters only.
I would appreciate any help on how to resolve these errors.
    Thanks,
    Raji

    Hi,
I'm wondering if the problem is actually that the client is failing to connect to the server correctly. Can I suggest that you switch on the HTTP Analyzer and see what comes back there.
Is it possible it is a proxy problem? If you are working locally then I first suggest that you ensure that the Web Browser Proxy is off (see Tools -> Preferences -> Web Browser Proxy) - and that there are no exceptions listed (either with the proxy on or off) before you start the HTTP Analyzer.
As to Doc/Wrapped or RPC. see this blog entry for a little more explanation:

  • How to call a Java Web Service from another Java package ?

Please, does anybody know a simple way to access to a JWSDP Web Service deployed under Tomcat with another java application ?
I've tried with ServiceFactory and Service class from JaxRPC API but it doesn't work ....
    Thanx.

What not just invoke it the same you would invoke a remote service? Create a service stub and call a service method.

  • Invoke Web Services - Send empty SOAP package

We have a SOAP interface that we have consumed through a service layer for 5+ years.
There are many functions available from this endpoint.
Example, one is called Ping and requires no additional parameters. We can send this via Orchestrator with no issues and we get a response.
However all other functions have param requirements such as a set name or authentication data.
Orchestrator has no issue pulling the Format Hint. Ive attached wireshark and fiddler and all calls get sent by Orchestrator with empty packages, all parms get stripped.
We can use SOAP runner and have no issues sending these commands.
    Thoughts?

    I've noticed the same behaviour.
When I call a webservice using the "Invoke Web Services"-activity using only the elements of the xml e.g. <object>somevalue</object> the xml that gets sent is complete and consumed by the webservice.
However when I call another method that requires attributes (e.g. <object name="something">somevalue</object>) the attributes (name="something") gets stripped from the xml causing the webservice to bounce my call as certain
    (mandatory) parameters are missing.
    I've confirmed this through Wireshark.
I'm possitive my XML payload is correct as this works through both SOAPUI and Powershell.
(not intending to hijack the question, mainly confirming the behaviour and providing and additional use case)

  • Does the iTunes Now Playing Dock notification work on the macbook pro with retina display?

Hi, this command used to work on my old 2011 MacBook Pro, but now when I try it on my new retina display macbook, the Dock resprings everytime i pause or play a song in iTunes.
    defaults write com.apple.dock itunes-notifications -bool TRUE;killall Dock
is it not compatible with the new retina display OSX Lion?

This is not a problem with Retina nor Mountain Lion. I have the exact same problem with my MBP 13 inch early 2011 running Lion.
Everytime I play/pause in iTunes, Finder restarts. Everytime a new song starts playing, Finder restarts.
I've contacted Apple Support in Denmark, but since I do not have a paid-plan with the Apple Support, the guy sent me instructions on how to reinstall the OS.
