NtfsServer start fauilure at 9iFS startup

I've installed the 9iFS 9.0.1.1 on W2K server, and after the installation completed, and started the 9iFS domain/node as instructed in the installation guide.
Basic functionality for 9iFS Web Interface was okay, but no success on DAV/SMB.
Checking into the Node startup log file (Node.log), found following error message for NtfsServer.
02/02/22 9:06 NtfsServer: net start OracleIfsd
02/02/22 9:06 NtfsServer: Return code = 0

I'm not sure if NtfsServer startup failure affect the functionality of SMB/DAV, but no other suspcious message in the log files. Can someone help me to fix this problem? Thanks a lot in advance.
Koichi

Thanks for your input.
I could resolve this problem.
Starting the iFS DC/Node from W2k Terminal console had resulted in this startup failure. Started from the W2K native console, and all the servers has been initiated successfully.
Now, the smb access is working fine. Thanks a lot.

    This question is not related to the HANA developer center sandboxes - no user can stop/start these systems...
    If the issue happened after a failed restore, your database is probably corrupted and cannot be started. Try to restore another backup. You can also try to restore the same backup again, and choose to not replay the log (recover from data files only). You will probably loose some changes, but at least have a consistent state...

  • How do I sound an alarm if a thread fails to start from the weblogic startup script?

    Here's the problem. I have a critical java program for my web app that
    is its own thread and is started by the weblogic startup script when
    the weblogic server is started. The constructor of this thread will
    throw exceptions and send out emergency emails to the Sys Ops people
    if it cant instantiate itself correctly. The only time that it wont be
    able to do that is if it cant read the email property from a config
    file to know where to send sys ops email to. In that situation what
    would be the best way to alert someone that the thread failed to
    start?

    1) Post a console message to the admin (thro' net send in NT).
    2) Hard code a default email address (easiest).

  • Starting agent after VM startup

    The new JDK 6 instrumentation API mentions the possiblity for "Starting Agents After VM Startup".
    Unfortunately it isn't very specific: "The system class loader [..] must support a mechanism to add an agent JAR file to the system class path."
    Can anybody provide me with a working example of how to bootstrap an agent from within the VM after it has started? Is it possible to load the agent directly and not from a jar file in the filesystem?
    Thanks,
    -dennis

    Chris has an example in his blog:
    http://blogs.sun.com/chegar/entry/diagnosing_deleteonexit_issues
    Another example is http://blogs.sun.com/alanb/resource/MemViewer.java which bootstraps the management agent into a running VM.
    Java agents must be deployed as a JAR file on the file system.

  • Wsm-pm not starting error in wsm_server startup

    I rebooted my servers and I receive the following error. I have a 2 node soa and wsm cluster. I rebooted server 1 and soa_server1 and wsm_server1 came up perfectly ok. On server 2 soa_server2 came up ok but wsm_server2 won't come up. I tried to start it up through em and it didn't work either. I tried rebooting, changing the order of startup but nothing. The server wsm_server2 comes up but after like 15 minutes but the wsm-pm deployment is not started. This causes issues if any soa composites are using web service policies. They essentially don't work.

  • Starting Servlet at Server Startup

    Hi all!
              We are desperately trying to initialize a servlet at weblogic 5.1
              startup.
              When simply registering the servlet it works well.
              Now we tried to set up autostart for the servlet according to the docs
              at http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/classdocs/API_servlet.html#128566:
              <doc>
              # Here we register the myservletclass servlet class
              weblogic.httpd.register.MyServlet=\
              examples.servlets.myservletclass
              # Configure the ServletStartup class to run MyServlet's init()
              # method at startup
              weblogic.system.startupClass.StartMyServlet=\
              weblogic.servlet.utils.ServletStartup
              weblogic.system.startupArgs.StartMyServlet=\
              servlet=MyServlet
              </doc>
              We register our servlet with alias "stest":
              weblogic.httpd.register.stest=our.servlet
              This works well.
              Then we add the startup info:
              weblogic.system.startupClass.Startstest=\
              weblogic.servlet.utils.ServletStartup
              weblogic.system.startupArgs.Startstest=\
              servlet=stest
              But when starting weblogic it says:
              <I> <WebLogicServer> T3StartupDef stest
              weblogic.servlet.utils.ServletStartup reports:servlet: stest
              not found
              What is going wrong here?
              Thanks!

  • Where is the best place to put programs to start on X/Openbox startup?

    Hi,
    There are several places to put programs to startup when you start X or a WM.  I'm using Openbox and presently have placed these into my .xinitrc file, but I'm not sure this really the best place.  Openbox has a autostart file, which sorta looks like a better bet.
    Any suggestions would be great.
    Thanks,
    Jon

    Hadn't heard of consolekit; it's not clear to me from looking at their website what it's supposed to be offering? Maybe after it matures more, the documentation will improve, and all will become clear.
    When I used Openbox, I just launched everything such as conky from the Openbox autostart file. I guess if you had a weird set up such as some of your Openbox configs sitting on unmounted partitions, their mount commands would go in .xinitrc, otherwise autostart.sh seems better.
    Just IMO of course, do what you want on your own machine :-)

  • Strange icons appearing as computer starts up? Prolonged startup!!

    Hi. I'm having trouble with my startup on my PowerBook G4 12-inch. However, I haven't noticed problems with any other apps or programs on my computer except for startup!
    When I start it up, it plays the sounds at the start as always... And then this little image of a colour globe on a small grey puzzle piece, starts flashing for a while. Then it changes to an even smaller image of one of Mac OS's symbols, and changes between this and a question mark in a box.
    What's going on?? I don't get it!
    Each time I start it up, this process of strange images and stuff goes for longer, before the progress bar comes up and it loads my accounts login page.
    can anyone help?? Please do!!

    Wow. I've never seen THAT before! A puzzle piece icon? Seems that your Mac is confused as to which startup system to boot from. You don't have multiple versions installed on your PowerBook, do you? (This is possible if you have partitioned your hard drive and have Mac OS X--a different version from your primary boot volume--installed on it).
    For starters, let's let Apple help you out first:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58042
    Then, if that doesn't work, I'll try to find more. (As I mentioned, I don't recall seeing a puzzle piece icon with a globe whenever I've had the rare occasion of a startup problem on my Mac. If this was Windows... which I don't use...).

  • Error when starting opmn with custom startup class

    I'm trying to use jaxb 2.0 classes in my custom oc4j startup class, but when I try to start the container the following error is produced in the logs.
    Exception in thread "OC4J Launcher" java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access class javax.xml.bind.ContextFinder from class javax.xml.bind.JAXBContext
    Can anyone provide some guidance?
    Regards,

    It seems I trying to use jaxb 2.x classes but oas 10.1.3.5 uses jaxb 1.0. Is there anyway to get this to work with jaxb 2.x? The error message I'm receiving now is
    Exception in thread "OC4J Launcher" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.xml.bind.JAXBContext.newInstance([Ljava/lang/Class;)Ljavax/xml/bind/JAXBContext;
    and if I use the JAXBContext.newInstance("package", this.getClass().getClassLoader());
    I get this:
    javax.xml.bind.JAXBException: Unable to locate jaxb.properties for package mil.usmc.mol.mbeans

    Se16 -- table:RSPCPROCESSLOG - click on display entries.
    Entet the variant, instance start date (this info you can get from the "display message" of PC.
    Now execute to display the table entries of RSPCPROCESSLOG.
    Next goto SE37 transaction --enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH
    Take the entries from the above table to set the input parameters of the FM.
    I_logid = log_id(from above table)
    I_type = type(from above table)
    i_variant = varaint (from above table)
    i_instance = (from above table)
    Click on F8(EXECUTE)
    now the actual process is set to gree and the process chain will be triggered (rest of the PC with out repeating the step from where is was red).

  • Starting applications automatically upon startup

    I tried searching for the answer to this but was unable to find exactly what I was looking for, so here goes my question.
    There is one application in particular that I would like to start automatically every time I boot my eMac. I know how to make this work in PC's but not for Mac's. I am not a 100% true convert, I am about 50% PC and 50% Mac, only because there are some applications that I run that don't seem to have Mac born applications.
    Thanks in advance for the assistance.

    control click on the icon. Then select "open at login".
    Maybe this is a Tiger feature Bill S. but is not available in Panther and Glen's profile suggests he has Panther.
    Glen:
    For the application that you want to open at startup requires two steps.
    1. Open System Preferences > Accounts. Select your account and select the Start Up Item tab.
    2. Drag the application that you wish to open, into that box. Done.
    Note; This application will only open in your account. If you only have one account then this is no problem. If you have several accounts and want the application to start up to be system wide, you can drag the desired application into HD/Library/StartUpItems using the Finder to navigate to it.
    The first suggestion is perhaps what will suits your needs.

  • Start scanning watchfolder after startup on network render machine?

    Hi,
    i am setting up a small render farm of a couple of mac minis having only AErender installed.
    Is there a way, maybe an startupscript that automatically scans my watchfolder after the AErender started up? At the moment i have to go into the render machine and select the watchfolder each time after startup.I would like to have the render clients run without monitors,keyboards, mouses connected and not having to access them via screen sharing each time i want to render. I couldnt find that specific information anywhere, so any insight on this will be highly appreciated!!
    Thanks a lot!

    ....i found a workaround with applescript myself... sometimes i`s great not giving up too soon:-))
    maybe there is a more elegant way.. but this works.
    compiled as app and used as login item.
    AE render seems to remember the last watch folder selected, so i didn`t have to set the path.
    might look quirky to a pro, i`m just happy it works,i`m not a programmer and just collected and tried snippets of code until it worked.
    delay (20)
    tell application "System Events"
      tell application "Adobe After Effects CC 2014" to activate
    end tell
    delay (3)
    tell application "System Events"
      tell process "Adobe After Effects CC 2014.2 (13.2)"
      click menu item "Watch Folder..." of menu "File" of menu bar 1
      end tell
      tell application "Adobe After Effects CC 2014" to activate
      tell application "System Events" to key code 36
    end tell
