Number of matches of an update

Hy,
I would like to know how can I get the number of matches for a query where I insert a specific node.
Is that possible using Perl?
The query starts with a 'select' and the return is similar to this:
return (
insert node <LU semcat=\"time\" semsubcat=\"hour\"><STR>
{string($x/STR[text()])} {" "}
{string($x1/STR[text()])} {" "}
{string($x2/STR[text()])} {" "}
</STR>
{$x,$x1,$x2}
</LU> before $x
Where I create the new node containing the 3 nodes I gather from the select part of the query.
Thanks,
Jorge

Hi Jorge,
XQuery Update is not capable of returning a result from a query when an update is performed, by design. If you think that this is a crazy restriction, I would encourage you to raise a [bug report|http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/] with the W3C XQuery Working Group about it.

  • How can I get my App Store sign in to match my newly updated Apple ID?

    How can I get my App Store sign in to match my newly updated Apple ID?
    The old ID is already grayed in the box for my ID and it does not allow me to type in my new ID.

    I appreciate your effort and realize I did not provide a lot of background.
    My issue began when I unintentionally managed to add an additional .com onto my new apple ID and the system then incorrectly verified this "none existent" address. Following days of effort and emails to Apple support I finally ended up  getting set up with my new ID on iTunes.
    The next problem was my App store login continued to have the "old" ID grayed into the signin and since I had changed it to a new ID, I could not login at the App Store.
    I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with a total of 3 Apple reps without a resolution to me problem.
    The last Apple rep, Chad wanted to be able to take a screen shot of what I was telling him, which made no sense to me but I was willing to do what ever was required to solve the problem. Unfortunately, Chad hung up or somehow disconnected before I received the email required for allowing a screenshot. After calling back and adding another 5+ minutes invested, I decided to attempt to change back to my old ID.
    Once I had changed my ID back to the old one, I could download updates and purchases.
    I realize my question was asking a lot but my hope was someone would have some idea as to how to correct the problem Apple Support could not. It seems to me Apple needs to make a correction on their end but it is now into week two of attempting to solve the problem and I am pretty much disenchanted with Apple Support due to the amount of time and effort already invested and lack of progress.
    Thanks for your suggestion. I think it was a good one considering the lack of other information.

  • How to count the number of Rows to be Updated before Update takes place..

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement, where i have to count the number of rows to be updated before updating it. SQL%ROWCOUNT gives the no. of rows updated ( after update takes place). How do i get to know the count of no. of rows to be updated/inserted/ deleted. I was looking for a simple solution, as above SQL%Rowcount. But i couldn't find any. I can use a Function and Return the value which will give me number of rows to be updated, But is there any Simple Logic other than this.. or any count function. Your Help is Appreciated. Thanks!

    If you really want to do this (I have no clue why you would need it), then you can piggy back on any existing pessimistic locking you may already have in place.
    However, it would require two loops through the records of which you want to know the count before you update, and a second pass to update them.
    I would really re-think the need for this, though.

  • How to see number of matching results in the find bar?

    Hi, can I configure Firefox to include the number of matching results on the page in the find bar? It's one of the things I appreciate in other browsers (helps give context / get a feel for relevance / make quick decisions)
    Or is there a lightweight add-on to do the same?
    Thanks :)

    I haven't tried this, but the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/findbar-tweak/ FindBar Tweak] extension advertises "Total hits and current hit counter in the findbar".

  • How to get a proper week number and MATCHING year number

    Java classes such as SimpleDateFormat offer convenient means to find out the correct week number of a given date. Week numbering is locale specific and not always intuitive. For example, Dec 31, 2001 is in week 1 of 2002 in locales where a week starts with Monday or Sunday. Now, if one formats the date using a method such as:
    new SimpleDateFormat("'week: 'ww', year: 'yyyy").format(theDate);
    this produces result
    week: 1, year: 2001
    when the typically anticipated value would be "week: 1, year: 2002".
    Is there any means to find out the year number, which matches to the given week number for a date? Or do I have to create a kludge myself?
    I would be suprised if this feature is not part of Java API, since it seems like a quite common need. Then again, I'm not suprised by surprises in Java API anymore ;)

    Well, the real problem is just that the rules determining which year the week belongs to are complicated. In some locales, weeks start with Monday, in some Sunday. In some locales year that has 4 or more days of the week "owns" the week, in some locales there might be different rules.
    All this complex logic is already implemented in Calendar / SimpleDateFormat / etc classes, so it would be clearly valuable thing to be able to use that code. For example, Calendar.get(YEAR_OF_WEEK_OF_YEAR) or similar. But, it does not seem to be possible.
    As I mentioned originally, I can implement my own "kludge" to do this if I have to. This is not nice, since I will be duplicating the functionality already implemented in the calendar classes. Of course, solution is neither as simple as "set calendar to the weeks end" or "set calendar to the weeks start"...

  • ITunes Match won't update on iPhone

    Recently, I noticed that iTunes Match on my iPhone won't update my music. I've added some new music to my iTunes and updated iTunes Match on my Mac, but the songs won't appear on my iPhone. I've even tried connecting my phone to my Mac and manually adding the music, but that doesn't work either. I've tried restating the music app, turning iTunes Match off/on, updating Match again on iTunes, etc. Nothing works and it's getting really, really annoying!

    Hi fnaber0412,
    If you are having issues with your iPhone not updating your music from iTunes Match, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
    First, quit all running applications and test again -
    iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
    Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
    iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT41
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • What number do I call to update my phone every few months??

    What number do I call to update my phone every few months??

    If you mean getting updates for your operating system (Gingerbread, ice cream sandwich), there is no number to call. Updates come automatically to your phone. If you are referring to getting a new phone, there is no way you can do that every few months. You are bound to a two year contract with the phone(s) you have. There is nothing preventing you from buying a different phone at full cost, however.

  • My Itune Match tries to update my songs but itunes just shuts down

    I just upgraded to the new version Of Itunes 10.6.0.40 on my windows pc. Now when itune match tries to update my songs to the cloud it just makes itunes crash and restart. Any Ideas Anyone?

    Ashy07,
    so have you backed up and reformatted?

  • HT4913 Itunes match is not updating recently added songs. It doesn't seem to be able to complete the update when I start to match.

    I am experiencing difficulties adding new songs to icloud via itunes Match. Match just doesn't complete the update, keeps running and running, but never actually finishes. This make managing my music impossible as I can't make playlists until the songs have been loaded into the cloud. How can I fix or get around this? If this continues, I would like to remove Match entirely - how can I do this?

    Hi TakesTwo2Tango,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you should definitely be seeing a plus sign after tapping Edit, so I would try a couple relatively easy things (closing the Music app, resetting the iPhone):
    iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    Cheers,

  • ITunes Match music not updating on iPhone 4 - all settings "correct", but all playlists and many songs, artists, albums, artwork missing

    I'm having a maddening problem with iTunes Match on my iPhone 4. I have the following settings established on the phone:
    Settings > iCloud > Account: properly logged in to the correct, main account
    Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup: On
    Settings > Music > iTunes Match: On
    Settings > Music > Show All Music: On
    Settings > Store: Logged into the same correct, main account as above
    Settings > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music: On
    On my laptop - the computer I use to primarily manage my iTunes music collection - when I "Update iTunes Match", all but three songs are listed as "Matched", "Uploaded". or "Purchased", and I'm correctly told that "12,277 songs are now available in iCloud".
    But over the past week or so, music has been disappearing from my iPhone 4. When I go under Music > Playlists, none of my Playlists are showing. When I go under Music > Songs, it only lists 240 of the 12,277 tracks that are supposedly available in iCloud. Only 126 of around 1300 artists are listed. I have meticulously collected/scanned album artwork for literally every song in my collection, but a ton of it is missing on even the few tracks that do show up on my iPhone, and on and on and on.
    I've been trying switching settings on and off, logging out and back in, waiting minutes, hours, or even days between attempts, running a restore to previous backup for the whole phone, etc. But after days of frustration and time wasted - nothing. And the real kicker is that the whole music collection IS showing up just fine on my wife's iPhone 4 - it just won't work on mine, and it's mostly my music to begin with!
    So why won't my music collection show up on my iPhone 4? What do I do to fix this? How is this worth the money I paid for the Match service?

    Thanks to kirbyfromtrenton, I have tracked down at least a partial fix for this problem:
    1 - Turn off iTunes match in iTunes.
    2 - Turn off iTunes match on the iPhone.
    3 - Close iTunes and reopen.
    4 - Connect your iPhone.
    5 - Go into your music folder for the iPhone and delete all the songs.
    6 - Turn back on iTunes match in iTunes
    7 - Turn back on iTunes match on the iPhone
    All of my music is available once again, although I'm still not seeing my playlists or artwork. That could be because I'm overseas right now with a slow wi-fi connection though.
