Numbering of headlines with conditional regions

Its my first post, so i want to apologize if some informations are missing.
I want to number headlines in MS WORD 2007 for a BI Publisher 11.1.5 report, which has some conditional regions included.
My problem is that invisible regoins also increment the number.
e.g.:
1.1 first headline
1.2 second headline
1.3 third headline
If I make the second headline/region invisible the output is:
1.1 first headline
1.3 third headline
If anyone can give me some advice on how to get the numbering right, it would be greatly appreciated.

Okay I solved this problem by creating XSL:FO variables and calculatedbefore the table of content.

How to prevent duplication on a column with condition

Hello everyone,
I need some advice here. At work, we have an Oracle APEX app that allow user to add new records with the automatic increment decision number based on year and group name.
Says if they add the first record , group name AA, for year 2012, they get decision number AA 1 2013 as their displayed record casein the report page.
The second record of AA in 2013 will be AA 2 2013.
If they add about 20 records , it will be AA 20 2013.
The first record for 2014 will be AA 1 2014.
However, recently , we get a user complaint about two records from the same group name have the same decision number.
When I looked into the history table, and find that the time gap between 2 record is just about 0.1 seconds.
Besides, we have lookup table that allows admin user to update the Start Sequence number with the restraint that it has to be larger than the max number of the current group name of the current year.
This Start sequence number and group name is stored together in a table.
And in some other special case,user can add a duplicate decision number for related record. (this is a new function)
The current procedure logic to add new record on the application are
_Get max(decision_number) from record table with chosen Group Name and current year.
_insert into the record table the new entered record with decision number + 1
_ update sequence number to the just added decision number.
So rather than utitlising APEX built-in automatic table modification process, I write a procedure that combine all the three process.
I run some for loop to continuously execute this procedure, and it seems it can autotically generate new unique decision number with time gap about 0.1 second.
However, when I increase the number of entry to 200, and let two users run 100 each.
If the time gap is about 0.01 second, Duplicate decision numbers appear.
What can I do to prevent the duplication ?
I cannot just apply a unique constraint here even for all three columns with condition, as it can have duplicate value in some special condition. I don't know much about using lock and its impact.

Why not using a sequence for populating the decision_number column ?
Sequence values are guaranteed to be unique so there's no need to lock anything.
You'll inevitably have gaps and no different groups will have the same decision_number in common.
Having to deal with consecutive numbers fixations you can proceed as

Get records number from internal table with condition.

Internal table itab got more than 1000 records,now i need to get the number of records with condition that itab-field1 = 'XXXX'.
actully, i got an inefficient logic to count the number in a loop statement. is there better way to implement it?

Every time assigning data into temp table and delete may that may not be much efficient. You can check in loop logic how much time is taken. You can check the below code. here I am trying to check the numbers of plant for for one material.
In this logic material is the first field. So if there is option to make the required field in to the 1 st position then it will be nice.

Best approach -Tabs based ADF Tree left side navigation with Dynamic Regions with out UI Shell

Somebody can help for the best approach to implement the following requirement.
Req: When the user select the ADF Tree left side navigation menu, each menu will open as multiple tabs(Dynamic Tabs) in right side content area with out UI Shell Template.
I completed the
Step-1: From the Model project, I can able to render ADF Tree in the using view and view links. I can get the adf tree which is having 3 menu items. Each menu item having 2 sub menu's.
I took each menu item as one(1) taskflow, each taskflow will have two(2) fragments.
Total I have 3 task flows as Menu Items and 6 fragments for sub menu's.
Step-2: My question is How do I implement Tab based the ADF tree navigation (left side area to dynamic regions in content area) through dynamic regions? Please provide the steps in view layers.

This is working fine for ADF Tree navigation with dynamic regions if the taskflow having only one fragment. if the taskflow having more than one fragments, this will not work. The following conditions are always satisfies one page fragment of either "employees" or "departments" task flow. If the "employees" task flow have 2 page fragments, it's not work even you pass parameters through routers.

Create Item with no Page Regions, but with P0 Region Issue

Hi,
Suppose you have a region on Page 0 called: P0_REGION. You then create a page, P100, with no region. If you try to create a Page Item you get the following message:
Unable to Create Page Item
You must create at least one region before you can create a page item.
Shouldn't we be allowed to create a page item and apply it to the P0 region? I didn't file this as a bug since I didn't know if this is what should happen.

Not exactly. I have a common region on Page 0 which contains buttons, jQuery Tabs etc. On each Page, P100 for example, I put items into that region for display purposes. I don't want to create these at P0 Items since they will be run for each page (or I'll have to put a lot of conditions on them).

What you are saying makes great sense. It's just the mechanics behind what you've said that I'm unclear about.

Are you saying to create another button within the same region with the same attributes/position, so they overlay each other? Then set the conditions on both buttons?

If I understand the above correctly, then how do I set the conditions? I guess I'm asking where do I place the SQL statement and how does the results relate to the button conditions?

Trouble with Conditional Submit

Hi - hoping this problem will be easy for someone!
I have a page with two regions. One region is a tabform with a SUBMIT (label Reg1) button. Branch shows as Go to Page 1 condition showing SUBMIT(Reg1) for button.
The last region has a SUBMIT(label Test) which I want to branch to another page but I did it as a submit so it saves the date before leaving the page. The Branch shows Go to Page 25 conditional showing SUBMIT(Test). All looks good.
However, when you press the button in the either region it does the submit but branches to the first branch (based on Sequence). Both buttons go to the Page referenced (even they are supposed to conitional). If I change the sequence order, both buttons go to the lowest sequence.
What am I doing wrong????

I'm really stumped on this (and it should be so easy!) If I rename on the button that brancgh to the new page - no problem but it doesn't save what was on the page (in case the user forgets to do a save).
If I create the button selecting SUBMIT but with a different label, then both buttons do the save but again, they branch to the first one in the Branch section. (However, they both have the button name in the conditions and show as 'Conditional' branches. Does this make sense?
I thought about creating a javascript that checks if anything has been changed and pops up a msg to 'save changes' but I'm not a js writer and I heard that's the only way to do it.
Any ideas as to how to save the data (or force the user to save it) on the updateable report region before branching to the new page?
As you can tell, I'm a newby :)

Problems with the system decimal point with german regional settings

I have a Labview 6 app that needs deploying to Germany.
My app sends strings over VISA RS232 and GPIB instruments with floating point numbers.
When changing from English to German regional settings, in Windows XP, periods are now interpreted as commas and the app starts truncating my decimal numbers. So in the English Regional Setting when I send 1.234 I get 1.234 but in the German Regional Settings when I send 1.234 I get 1.000.
I have turned off the "Use localized decimal point" in Tools - Options - Front Panel as well as set any function (Frac/Exp String to Number) that has a "Use System Decimal Point" connector to FALSE.
Now here's my problem....
This fixed the issue I was having as long as I am in the development environment, however, once I build the application I still get the truncated numbers. Example: I send 1.234 to an instrument and it sees 1.000.
Again this works fine in the development enviroment, sending 1.234 reads 1.234 with German regional settings.
Any help is appreciated.

You can use a simple function of the "Scan from string" function.
Place "%.;" (Without the quotes) in the scanning string, and this will tell LV to use a decimal point for interpretation. If you place "%,;", this will tell it to use a comma.
You can place this at the beginning of your format string, and it simply tells the parser how to work, it doesn't otherwise produce an output.
Using simply "%;" sets the seperator to the system default (maybe the best idea after the code has been run as the changed decimal point character apparently remains changed otherwise). From the LV help
The following codes control the decimal separator used for numeric output. These codes do not cause any input or output to occur. They change the decimal separator for all further inputs/outputs until the next %; is found.
%,; comma decimal separator
%.; period decimal separator
%; system default separator

Conditional Region - Advanced Tab Editing

I'm looking to add XML to a Conditional Region's Advanced tab. i've already filled out the Properties tab with one condition, but want to add another. What is the code context I need to enter? I've searched everywhere with no success.
Currently my Advanced tab shows:

Example of what I'm trying to do:

Maybe you incorrectly set XPath for your XML tags? Try use
<xsl:if test="number(//CompanyCode_ID)=1 and number(//Rep_ID)!=010">
or better set it with absolute paths

Is it possible to create a Column with Conditional Mandatory with another Column?
For example
In a Table we have column A, B, C.
A is Primary Column.
B is Optional
C is Conditional Mandatory.

Only if the B Column has the value then only C column should be mandatory

I guess you can't create a condtional mandatory column directly. However, you can use check constraint to on the column

Encountering error while working with Dynamic Regions.

Hi All,
I am a beginner in ADF and on a quest to learn ADF. Sometimes I am struggling in the process. Now, when I am working with Dynamic Regions, encountered problem below
Step 1 : Created a simple department TaskFlow with Department Form
Step 2: Created a Simple employee TaskFlow with Employee Details
Step 3: Created a Main page with oracle 2 column layout
Step 4 : Dragged and dropped department TaskFlow on to main page second facet as Dyanmic region . Created a bean as RegionBean
Step 5 : Dragged and dropped department TaskFlow as Command Link on the first facet
Step 6 : Dragged and dropped employee TaskFlow as Command Link on the first facet
The page runs and shows department information when it renders. But when I click on employees command link, at first it shows employees table with no data and says "ACCESS DENIED ". Then if I click on either department or employee command link, it errors out with below info

Condition in scheduling agreeement are time dependent where as condition in purchase order time independent so it's not possible to use.

How to activate Approval in Sales Order for the UDF with condition

Dear Expert,
                   I have created the UDF field Rebate(type amount) in Sales Order.I want to activate the approval procedure for this UDF with condition where Rebate is greater then Zero.I had applied the query and Activate it in approval procedure.--
SELECT (Case When IsNull(count(T0.[DocEntry]),0) <>0 Then 'True' Else 'False' End) AS TF
FROM Ordr T0   where DocType='I' AND t0.U_rebate >0 and convert(Varchar(20),T0.[CreateDate],103) =(select convert(Varchar(20),Getdate(),103))
But I found that the approval procedure activate every time inspite the Rebate field is Zero.
Plaese suggest some soloution for it.

Merge text file with condition

I have two text files (report1.txt and report2.txt) that I want to merge with conditions:
- Matching rows that have same "ID" and same "TranVal", will keep only one instance
- Mismatching rows that have same "ID" both rows from 2 file, but column "TranVal" has different value, then the row from report2.txt will replace row in report1.txt
- Any "ID" that exists in one textfile but not the other one, will be copied to the final merged file
report1.txt:
TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
061211,9840,40,done
061211,9841,30,done
061211,9842,28,done
report2.txt:
TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
061211,9840,40,done
061211,9841,89,done
061211,9843,25,done
Final result should be:
merge.txt:
TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
061211,9840,40,done
061211,9841,89,done
061211,9842,28,done
061211,9843,25,done

Hi,
I just checked Import-Csv option. I will be able to manage this problem if i can get it in CSV format and work with objects, BUT the problem is in my real file
the file-format is different which is not comma-separated, instead have "-" as seperator. To simplify the problem i used comma in my question.
TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
061211-9840-40-done
Could
you suggest me if there is any way to convert "-" separators to CSV?
