Numbers - is misinterpreting Date info from a different country

Hello!
I'm importing CSV data from bank accounts in the USA and UK.
Unfortunately Numbers is reading USA's date format of: Month, Day, Year as Day Month Year.
I don't care which way the data is displayed, the problem is that it is reading the Month info as the Day info.
For example, I have: 4/7/14 which means April 7 2014. But it is reading it as 4 July 2014 and therefore making a mess of the flow of transactions when I want to sort them by date.
And if one can set how the date should be displayed once it is read correctly, I would choose YYYY MM DD.

Here is a way to use AppleScript to "correct" the imported dates.
First, format the cells containing the imported dates as YYYY-MM-DD.
The cells should then display 2014-07-04 whereas you want 2014-04-07.
Select the cells and run AppleScript below (copy and paste into AppleScript Editor and click the green triangle 'run' button).
This should change the values to 2014-04-07, etc.  Test on a duplicate before using it on your actual data, to make sure it is doing what you want it to do.
