Numeric format based on data in another field

I am trying to set up a form where the numeric format of one field is based on units of measure in another field. The fields are: units1 and iq1. What I want to do is have the iq1 field format for percent with two decimal places when units1 is LS or ls or L.S. or l.s. otherwise the field should be formatted for a number with the format nnn,nnn,nnn.nn. Any help for this newbie is appreciated.

want to do is clean up the url abit.

variable into the Divisional Standings recordset.
So example: If I type in clubhouse.php?team=Wings, the Team
Info recordset would bring up the Pacific division. Then 'Pacific'
would be inserted into the Divisional Standings recordset to
display the Pacific Division Standings.
Basically I want this

FROM standings
WHERE division = <teaminfo.division>
ORDER BY pts DESC

Assuming two tables- teamtable and standings:
teamtable - which has entire info about the team and has a
field called
"div" which has the division name say "pacific" and you want
to use this
name to get corresponding details from the other table.
standings - which has a field called "division" which you
want to use to
give the standings
SELECT * FROM standings AS st, teamtable AS t
WHERE st.division = t.div
ORDER BY pts DESC
Instead of * you could be specific on what fields you want to
select ..
something like
SELECT st.id AS id, st.position AS position, st.teamname AS
team

F4 Help on one field should populate data on another field

Show / hide field based on text in another field

Hi,
I'm trying to make one of my fields reactive to what is the text generated in another field.
At the moment I have this under calculate using custom javascript:

else this.getField("Code").display = display.hidden;
Whereas Course is the field that is changing and Code is the one that will show/hide based on content of Course.

Hi Everyone,
After doing trials with simple calculations it still wasn't working and so I've figured out what the problem is - the document was being exported but with the data being pre-populated from an SQL database in which during the export it all happens at once, not a chain effect so when the export happens it was filling "Code" before "Course" had any info in it...
The fix was basically having to create a different field in the SQL source itself for an independent field on the pdf form.

Fill in fields based on response in another field.

Is there a way to use one field to automatically fill in another field? For example, I have two fields (Project Name & Project Address). Project Name is a pull down menu. Can I have Project Address automatically fill in based on their choice of Project Name?

I have created a new position description template using a pdf form. In this form I have various fields. I would like to populate one field based on what I have selected in another field. For example, I have a field called competency. In this field I can select and choose a competency. If I select "Accountability" I would like the description field to say " Accepts personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work. Can be relied upon to achieve results with little need for supervision. " alternatively if I select "Compliance" I would like the description field to say "Complies with policies, procedures, workflows and instructions." Can anyone assist me with script or is there another way of making this happen.

Conditional format based on date

Hi,
I want to keep track of reports that my students need to turn in. The due date is set, but should turn red 10 days before the actual due date, so I can double check with the student if he started work on his report. Once the report was turned in, the due date should become grey or black. Here's an example:

While conditional formats can be set based on dates and relative dates, it doesen't allow to compare actual date to a date calculated from a cell, as far as I can see.
Any help with this is very appreciated!

Using Javascript to show/unshow a field based on input in another field

I want to display/not display a field in a JSP depending on what is selected in another field.
I am using <div></div> element currently which is displayed/not displayed using a Javascript invoked by the first field.
the problem with div is that I have to put it inside a <tr><td> otherwise it doesn't work. This makes the field look aloof from the rest of the page, and is also not aligned with the other fields.
Is there anything other than <div> that can be used? or is there a way to correct the look of the field inside a div?

You shouldn't have to put it inside a <tr><td> to get it to work. I've done what you are trying to do with <span></span> and it worked fine. I haven't tried it with a <div> but I can't image why that wouldn't work. Maybe you could post your code.

Seeking Pdf form help - javascript formula to auto-populate fields based on data from other fields.

Hi there, I am new to PDF form work, and am wondering if someone could help me with a javascript formula.
I want to auto-populate the EXPIRYDATE field, as the same date as the entered AUTHORIZATIONDATE field, but 4 years later.
So, I want to be able to enter 11/14/2014 in the AUTHORIZATIONDATE date, and have 11/14/2018 auto populate in the EXPIRYDATE field.
Seems simple I know, but I've messed around quite a bit and can't seem to make it work. Is this possible??

This can only be done with custom JavaScript programing.
The value of date type fields are text field and not numeric data. The first task is to convert the dates to a number on some type of number sequence that is a mapping to dates.
Have you looked at the Acrobat JavaScript API Reference, the MDN JavaScript reference?
I would use the Acrobat JavaScript util.scand to covert the date string to the number of milliseconds from January 1, 1970 midnight. and then use the getFullYear method of the date object for the year value and add 4 years to that value and then use the setFullYear method to set the year for the date object. Now you can use the util.printd method to format the date object as a date string with a specific format.

Populate text in field 1 based on calculation in another field

Hello,
Currently, I have a calculated field that is the sum of 7 numeric fields. I then have a text field that I would like to populate based on the calculation.
For example, if the value in the calculated field (Total) is "27", textfield should read "Great Job". If Total is >27, the textfield should read "Keep Trying".
I have two questions... What script should I try? and Where should the script reside?
I have tried to add script in the 'change' section of the Total field, but since the user is not changing this field (it is calculated), the script is not being triggered. I have tried the script in the 'change' section of each of the 7 numeric fields, but am having trouble referencing the Total field value.
Any help would be appreciated.

I added 8 Numeric Fields named MonTotal, TueTotal, WedTotal, ThurTotal, FriTotal, SatTotal, SunTotal and WeekTotal.
I added a FormCalc script to the calculate event of the WeekTotal Numeric Field shown below:
form1.#subform[0].MonTotal + form1.#subform[0].TueTotal + form1.#subform[0].WedTotal + form1.#subform[0].ThuTotal
+ form1.#subform[0].FriTotal + form1.#subform[0].SatTotal + form1.#subform[0].SunTotal
Once I saw the calculation was working I inserted a new text field named "Comment" and a standard button (Labeled "Click on Completion" and added a FormCalc script to the click event of the standard button shown below:

For getting Total sum value based on VBLEN :

Note : ZSPR_TOTAL is mentioned as Total.

Populate field based on selection from another field?

I'm using a Data Connection with a SQL query that returns two fields (StNameFull and ADDRKEY). I have a drop-down list called "Address" with the list items dynamically bound to StNameFull, so the user can select the address.
What I'm trying to do is populate the second field "Key" with the corresponding record, based on the selection made from the drop-down list.
Is it possible to script this so that when the Address is selected the Key will automatically fill in with the key that matches the address selcted?
I currently have "Key" as a text field bound to ADDRKEY, but not sure how to have it check what was selected in "Address"

Example: If there is data in the "Full Name" block, you have
to put data in the "Crew Name" block.
If the "Crew Name" block contains data, all is fine,
otherwise an error message is created.
Also, how do I validate this ( is it even required ? )

is data in
the "Full Name" field, then "Crew Name" is required?

Make a field required based on input in another field

So I have researched the forum to answer the question of how to make certain fields in a form required if a value is entered in another designated field, and not required if no value is entered in the designated field.
For example:
There is a field titled QTY_paper, and if a value is entered into QTY_paper, then the field PROGRow1 should become required.
If no value is entered into QTY_paper, then PROGRow1 is not required.
I've tried both FormCalc and Javascript, but with no results. In FormCalc I added this script as a mouseExit event on QTY_paper:

and then I added this script in FormCalc to the mouseExit event on PROGRow1:

This came almost verbatim from another post on the forum, so I'm thinking I'm missing something obvious here... which isn't too odd as I'm still pretty new at adding the scripts. Please help if you can!

You'd want to combine both scripts on the first field with an if/else statement. And I'd use the Exit event instead of Mouse Exit (not sure if Mouse Exit handles tabbing in and out of fields).
The first script should have worked, but with the second script you were asking if PROGRow1 was null, not QTY_paper.

PDF form - Displaying entered data in another field

Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with this. I'm trying to create a PDF form containing a business card graphic/template with fields that'll update as the user enters his/her data. I wish to use an existing graphic with added fields which are read only, underneath I want to provide fields for the customer to enter their data which is then reflected into the fields of my graphic. Hope this makes some sense! Basically I want the customer to see real time proof of the business card as they update it with their own personal information.

Thanks for this. I've found a good solution for what i'm trying to do
Placing the script below in the custom calculation script for my Text2 field will copy the contents of Text1 to Text2 this way I can set individual
properties for each field. (I found duplicating the same field means they share the same properties)
