OAG - inserting extra block in request XML

Hi,
I've a requirement to add/insert below error block under <mainXMLblock> once request XML reaches OAG. I've checked "ADD XML Node" filter, but it allows to add node by node not the complete error block. Could you please suggest some options. i thought of using "set message" filter but i need incoming XML (request xml) + error block to be added, not sure who to do that in "set Message" filter.
<mainXMLblock>
          <Error>
            <ErrorCode>
                <Type>ERROR</Type>
                <ErrorSubCode>
                    <Value>
                        <Namespace>Namespace1</Namespace>
                        <Value>Value4</Value>
                    </Value>
                </ErrorSubCode>
             </Error>
</mainXMLBlock>
Regards,
Ganesh

Hi,
You should can add the whole block to the mainXMLBlock in one go with the Add XML Node filter. But the filter is a bit tricky..
Here are a few things to watch out for.
1. Namespaces
If there is a namespace in for example mainXMLBlock you have to add this to the XML you are trying to insert. For example:
<s:mainXMLblock xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
     <s:someContent></s:someContent>
</s:mainXMLBlock>
For the Add XML Node when you adding the XML content you must include the namespace above.
Node Type: Element
Node Content: <Error xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><ErrorCode><Type>ERROR</Type><ErrorSubCode><Value><Namespace>Namespace1</Namespace><Value>Value4</Value></Value></ErrorSubCode></Error>
2. Existing header.
Unfortunately the Add XML Node filter can't automatically handle if the request may have the XML Node you are trying to add. So if you have a case where the node might exist already you have to handle this seperatly and have two Add XML Node, one where you just append and the other to replace for example.
Cheers,
Stefan

    Thanks

    Hi Carl,
    Hope your development is going ok. Not sure why the choose wouldn't work with @inline, if the IF statement did. What I would suggest instead is using a series of IF statements. So <?if@inline:x=1?> and the opposite <?if@inline:x!=1?>
    Its a bit of a pain, but I can't think of any other way to get around this.

  • BUG: Web service returns request XML as response when result too large

    Hi,
    sorry for cross-posting, but the Web Services forum seems to be quite abandoned and this is an urgent issue for me.
    I have a web service returning some records of a given type (created using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3). The running environment and the service implementation do not seem to make any difference, as the situation is the same whether running it in embedded OC4J or in AS 10.1.3.1, and whether it is generated from a PL/SQL procedure or a method of a plain Java class.
    The problem is that if the result of this web service is too large (contains a lot of records), then the processing halts in some Oracle class in some web service library, so not in a debuggable generated web service source or in the service implementation itself.
    I think that the XML processing halts because of a "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space".
    Then a more serious problem follows: the service doesn't return a fault message but the original request XML as a response. Obviously, this can lead to some really unexpected errors.
    To reproduce this error:
    1. Create a Java class with a method returning an array of an arbitrary type, of the size specified in an input parameter.
    2. Create a web service from this class.
    3. Call it multiple times increasing the size parameter in every call until you get back the request as response or any error message.
    For example:
    - if you test the web service using the web page generated to access the endpoint, then you can see the response XML - in case you don't get an Internal Server Error (Java heap space).
    - if you use a generated web service proxy for testing, then it will give an error saying "unexpected element name: expected={namespace}someOperationResponseElement
    actual={namespace}someOperationElement".
    Any ideas how to locate / solve this problem?
    Regards,
    Patrik

    Patrik,
    the usual recommendation is to try with 10.1.3.3 instead of 10.1.3.1 to exclude you are hunting down an already fixed issue. From what you describe, the error seems less JDeveloper related than OC4J or OracleAs.
    So in case it reproduces in 10.1.3.3 I suggest to create a testcase and open a service request with support, or try the OC4J forum in case its known there.

  • Extra Blank page in XML Publisher report

    Hi,
    I am getting extra blank page in XML publisher report.
    The RTF has two pages and each page has one table.These two tables will be populated with data based on some if condtion.
    eg:
    In RTF:
    for each Header
    if PMA='Y' THEN
    Table1 data in 1st page
    end if;
    pageBreak
    IF OTC='Y' then
    Table2 data in 2nd page
    END IF;
    end for each
    And also another issue is: The data is starting from the same page instead of new page.
    Please help me in solving the issue.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
    Thanks for reply.
    I am using <xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:attribute> page break.
    I tried split-by-page-break also,but still its not resolved.
    Today I have noticed one thing: When generating this report locally,then there is no blank page coming.But when generating from APPS then blank page is coming.
    Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • Inserting an element into an XML document

    I am simply looking insert a new element into an existing XML Document using JDOM. Here is my code so far:
    public class UserDocumentWriter {

         private File file = new File("/path/to/file/users.xml");

              } catch (IOException ioe) {

              } catch (JDOMException jde) {

              Element newContactElement = new Element("contact");
              newContactElement.setText(contact);
              List rootsChildren = rootElement.getChildren();
              Iterator iterator = rootsChildren.iterator();
              while (iterator.hasNext()) {
                   Element e = (Element) iterator.next();
                   if (e.getAttributeValue("address").equals(address)) {
                        contactListElement = e.getChild("contactlist");
                        contactListElement.addContent(newContactElement);
                        writeDocument(document);
         public void writeDocument(Document doc) {
              try {

              } catch (IOException ioe) {
                   System.err.println("Could not output document changes.");
         }However, the problem is, the newly added element will always be appended to the end of the last line, resulting in the following:
    <contactlist>
                <contact>[email protected]</contact><contact>[email protected]</contact></contactlist>Is there anyway in which I can have the newly added element create it's own line for the purpose of tidy XML? Alternatively is there a better methodology to do the above entirely?

    Your question is not very clear.
    Do you want to know How to insert an element into an XML document?
    Answer: I can see you already know how to do it. You have added the element using addContent()
    or do you want to know How to display the XML in a tidy format?
    Answer: to view the XML in a properly formatted style you can you the Format class. A very basic way of viewing the XML would be:
       * Prints the Document to the specified file.
       * @param doc
       * @param filename
       * @param formatting
      public static void printDocToFile(Document doc, String strFileName,
          boolean formatting)
        XMLOutputter xmlOut = null;
        if (!formatting)
          xmlOut = new XMLOutputter();
        } else
          Format prettyFormat = Format.getPrettyFormat();
          prettyFormat.setOmitEncoding(false);
          prettyFormat.setOmitDeclaration(false);
          xmlOut = new XMLOutputter(prettyFormat);
        try
          if (doc != null)
            FileWriter writer = new java.io.FileWriter(strFileName, true);
            xmlOut.output(doc, writer);
            writer.flush();
            writer.close();
          } else
            System.out.println("Document is null.");
        catch (Exception ex)
          System.out.println(ex);
      }

  • Given some xml and an xsd, how to remove extra stuff in the xml.

    Hi. I have a question. I am trying to use the various XML libraries to parse/validate an xml file given an XSD schema. I want to remove the extra stuff in the xml to output a new xml. The problem is as I validate or parse the SAXParseException it produce only gives me the localName. Is there a way I can keep track of something detail like the XPath as I validate or parse??? Thank for the help in advanced

    forgot to mention. Basically, I want to try to validate and find all the errors in the an old xml, then be able to fix the errors to end up having an valid xml file.

    Hello,
    We are generating XML-files using DBMS_XMLQUERY on a Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0.

  • Need to replace a tag in Request XML in OSB

    I have my proxy service in OSB connected to MQ as the input provider. Now I want to take a couple of namespaces and copy them into the body and remove those tags.
    Here is the input from MQ...
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:v="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <v:createAccount>
    <partId>Mnhtd_21</partId>
    </v:createAccount>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    I want this request xml to be converted into the following xml before it can be routed to the Business Service...
    <v:createAccount xmlns:v="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <partId>Mnhtd_21</partId>
    </v:createAccount>
    How can I transform it in the Proxy Service message flow?
    Please Help.
    Thanks in advance!
    Edited by: 994962 on Mar 20, 2013 12:10 AM

    Dear Fabio,
    I am forced to strip off the namespaces from the Soap Envelope that I am receiving from the MQ which is not the standard precedure. So I need the namespaces so that I can put them as attributes in the bosy itself.
    Here's what I want to do.....
    Input:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:v="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <v:createAccount>
    <partId>Mnhtd_21</partId>
    </v:createAccount>
    Desired Output:
    <v:createAccount xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:v="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <partId>Mnhtd_21</partId>
    </v:createAccount>
    So I need an Xpath to take the attributes out of the <soapenv:Envelope> and put them in <v:createAccount>
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Thanks for replying. I haven't contacted support yet to confirm you suspicion, My cable modem is a Motorola SB6141. I have done some basic research that indicates that it is not capable of NAT.
    However, I was able to configure a static route in my router,using the cable modem IP asgateway. After this my ping requests to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) started to fail. This is probably still not what I need. I don't understand why I can't save my router's IP as gateway as indicated here: http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions/articles/193662-setup-static-routes-on-linksys-and-cisco-... This link alerts to a bug in Linksys routers but the error message I get is not "invalid static route" as indicated.
    Thanks,
    Luiz

    I could work with  Excel insert cell block, but when I want add new data to an old row continuation, last row shift downward! while I want add data to old row. anyone can help me?
    Nobody will be able to identify the problem without seeing your code. Excel Insert Cells.vi is used to add cells to an existing spreadsheet, not to set the cell value. To do this is a more specific way than the Append Report Text.vi you can use Excel Easy Text.vi or Excel Insert Table.vi. With these vis you can specify the range where you want to insert something.
    For your other question (Two different data types) you can use the Excel Set Cell Format.vi to format a range as a date or something else. You will need to use the Excel format specifiers for this.

  • How to add extra blank space in xml

    I open the xml file in notepad I get this
    <XXON_EXT_BANK_ACCOUNT_NAME>創名聯合會計師事務所                                        </XXON_EXT_BANK_ACCOUNT_NAME>
    But when I open the xml file in html format the blank space is gone.
    How can I add extra blank space in xml?

    Hi
    Why do you need the extra space for?
    This difference in display that you see between your browser and notepad/notepad++
    will not affect your generated report.

  • Web Service Request Xml

    Hi,
    I have an web service deployed. I wanted to write a client which will show me an sample request xml for any particular operation. Is there any way by that we can generate the request xml by querying the WSDL file.
    Thanks.

    I have used XML BEANS option for generating client in my webservvices. In that there is
    System.err.println(document.xmlText()); which is basically a request Object for calling stub.
    Any way there should be option to get XML text in most of the clients (client types).
    Secondly for knowledge purpose if you want that XML then you may even try with default test utility provided in ECLIPSE.
