OAM and Websphere Portal 6 Problems

Hi,
I've been trying to integrate OAM 10.1.4.2.0-BP09 with WebSphere Portal 6.0.
I've followed the document from the latest connector 10.1.4.2.4 available on OTN, but seem to keep getting class not found error over and over again. Even if I resolve a class not found exception, it will throw another class not found exception for another missing class.
I am running java 1.6 and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
For which class it throws class not found exception? Based on that we can determine which jar file is not in the classpath or in the lib folder.
Thanks
Kiran Thakkar

I'm trying to integrate OAM 10g3 with WebSphere Portal 6.1 through the connector.
I have successfully integrated the Application Server with TAI and is working fine.
I am now trying to configure Portal but am getting an error when attempting to run the ConfigEngine.bat script file to update some properties.
When I try to change the Portal Administrator, I keep "BUILD FAILED ... <dn of user> does not exist.

Looks like the user registry setting/configuration is not correct. The Websphere provides 2 integration point to external apps - the TAI and the User Registry. While it looks that the TAI (Trust Association) configuration is okay, the user registry config is not correct. Please check and let us know what is given there in the user registry.
Hope this helps. Let us know.

  • Integration problem of OAM and OSSO/Portal

I have completed the OBE integration after having the issue resolved as reported in the thread:
    troubleshoot WebPass installation
Here is the url for OBE
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/fusion_middleware/im1014/oam-osso-portal/oam-osso-portal.htm
In the end to test the portal login, test accounts , which the OBE provided, failing
    +401 Unauthorized+
Your account has been disabled. Please contact the system administrator.
The accounts, portal and orcladmin cannot access the portal after the integration. This may be understandable since portal and orcladmin are not under the search base as the integration configured.
The test accounts cannnot access the portal. It may be due a missing step in the OBE. Such as the group for the portal access is not grant to the accounts.
Any one has successfully completed this OBE? did you add the step for the privilege granting?
Now seems not accounts could access the portal.
Since I cannot login the portal via portal nor orcladmin, I am not sure how to grant the privs to the accounts. But I can acceess OID via ODM. Can thst be done in ODM?

Yes, one OID for the both.

  • Struts1.1b2 and websphere 4.00 problem !

Anyone here tried using the above two combination ?
    I am getting this error
I SRVE0092I: [Servlet LOG]: Error Page Exception: : com.ibm.servlet.engine.webapp.WebAppErrorReport: Cannot find message resources under key org.apache.struts.action.MESSAGE
    Any help would be appreciated.

Struts is trying to find a property somewhere, and the key it's using to find it can't be found. Assuming you are using some sort of ApplicationResources properties file, it's probably just a typo.

  • How to find document for WebSphere Portal Server and OIM Integration?

Last time, I used WebSphere Portal Server and OAM that works well. Herein the document for integration http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28196_01/idmanage.1014/b25347/websphr.htm.
Now, I would like to use OIM to integrate with WebSphere Portal Server. Is there any document like above? If yes, please let me know where I can find it or give me a link.
Hope to get your response soon.
    Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to do that? I need to configure WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Portal with enabling global security by using "Custom User Register" and LTPA to integrate with Oracle Identity Management (OIM).
    Any comment is highly appreciate!

  • J2ee agent 2.2 configuration problem with Websphere Portal 5.1

    Hi,
I am trying to configure j2ee agent 2.2 with Websphere Portal server.
I have followed the document "Sun Java SystemAccess Manager
PolicyAgent 2.2 Guide for IBM WebSphere Portal Server 5.1.0.2"
Please see the thread "Problem with Sun's SSO system and Websphere Portal Server integration" for environment related information.
Also the security on app server has been enabled and is talking to LDAP.
My aim here is to enable application server (portal server) to autheticate requests.
I am getting following error when I log into the portal application.

From whatever analysis I have done so far, I believe this issue is related to the personal certificate for sun one webserver (on which access manager & LDAP are installed) not registered with the application server (portal server).
I am not sure about the way I go by solving the issue.
Please can anybody help me out.
    Thanks,
    Yaseer

  • Websphere portal vs RAD

    Hi ,
I did not know which forum to post this question. So I had to choose Web application forum.
I am currently exploring RAD v6.0 and Websphere Portal v5.1 . I want to know what could we possibly do with Websphere Portal , that we cannot do with RAD v6.0. When would you choose the one over the other? If I am deveoping an Enterprise App - having EJBs, Servlets , JSP , Database connectivity etc. , Does Websphere Portal offer anything to simplify the design , compared to RAD v6.0?
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi
Please let us know, if you have any info for integration of websphere6.1 with AM..
    Thanks

I have Business Objects installed on a system.  I am trying to install the JSR168 portlets on a WebSphere Portal server to access this BOXI R2 server.  I have followed the instructions and update the web.xml in the WEB-INF directory.  When I try and log into the BO server using the Document List portlet I get the following error:Unable to access the BusinessObjects Enterprise infrastructure at u201Cservernameu201C for u201Cusernameu201C. Contact your reporting administrator for assistance. When I take the URL as configured in the web.xml file and past it directly into a browser window, I can use the same username to log into the BOXI server. That tells me that the ID and the URL is valid.  Where can I find more information to troubleshoot the problem to see if I can fix it... Also any ideas of what can cause it? RegardsLeon

  • Comm. between Websphere Portal Server and EJB on WLS8.1

We are trying to get a portlet running on Websphere Portal Server 5.1 to make an RMI/IIOP call on an EJB on WebLogic Server 8.1. Currently it is failing to even establish a connection and get the initial context. Any ideas on configuring the two servers so this communication can take place?

try getting the latest service packs for these products before

You may also be falling foul of security issues, its worth trying to

  • Deploying ADF/JDeveloper portlets in WebSphere Portal

I'd like to use ADF/JDeveloper to build my application, but my customer is already heavily invested on a WebSphere Portal deployment platform.  The JDeveloper/ADF documentation has extensive information on creating portlets in various ways, but they all seem focused exclusively on deploying in an Oracle platform.  I have tried both the "Standards-Based" as well as the "JSF Portlet Bridge".  I have tried to deploy the portlets in WebSphere Portal using both the generated WAR file, as well as by registering the WSRP producer.  None work.
With the WAR file, WebSphere Portal seems to import the WAR file just fine, and I can add a portlet to a page, but the portlet always shows as "unavaiable"
With the WSRP producer, I can get something to show in the page, but the functionality within the portlet doesn't seem to work.
I've searched extensively, but cannot locate any documentation or use cases for deploying portlets from JDeveloper into WebSphere Portal.  Does anyone have any thoughts?

Dvohra21, again, I apreciate the effort, but I think you're missing the fundamental question.
You've given me two types of articles/links.  Some are generic WebSphere Portal documentation about deploying a portlet from a WAR file.  Others are Oracle articles about who to generate portlets in JDeveloper, with examples deploying in Oracle/WebLogic servers.   Unfortunately I don't have a problem with either of those.
I CAN deploy a portlet WAR file in WebSphere Portal, and sucessfully add it to a Portal page.  I have done that with multiple WAR files generated from Rational Application Developer.
I CAN produce a WAR file from JDeveloper, following the instructions in the same resources you included, plus a few others.
The problem is, the WAR file from JDeveloper, does not successfully run on WebSphere Portal.  I create a simple Hello World portlet in JDeveloper, and I can generate a WAR file from it, and seemingly deploy to WebSphere Portal.   However when I add it to a Portal page, it always displays only a blank box with the text "This portlet is unavailable".  This is in the same exact portal page, where the portlet created with Rational Application Developer shows up just fine right along side it.
Bottomline is, although there is a great deal of information an demos about generating portlets from JDeveloper within an Oracle environment, I could not find a SINGLE ONE, that goes through an end to end scenario where it is deployed in WebSphere Portal.  Nothing in this forum, nothing in Oracle docs, and nothing I can find on a Google search.

  • Weblogic server with  Websphere Portal server

    Hi,
I am having this peculiar problem.
I am using Websphere Portal Server and accessing an application which is running
    on Weblogic
6.1. I am also using struts on both the portal server and weblogic server.
The first time I access a jsp which is on weblogic from websphere portal I get
    it fine.
I have button on this jsp on submit of which another jsp on weblogic should come
    up.
The problem is that on click of the button the URL which is being formed is
    <ip of weblogic>/<path of portal server>.
I have no clue why this is happening and its driving me crazy.
Can anyone tell me whats happening?
    Thanks
    Siri

    Siri-
This sounds like a URL rewriting issue with whatever proxy or tool you are using
to interface from WS to WLS. Basically, for the setup to work, any URL's that
are contained in the content served up by your WLS instance will have to be rewritten
such that your WS instance knows that the request is actually intended for the
    WLS server.

  • Configure WebSphere Portal Server to use LDAP (Oracle Internet Directory)

I did configuration for WebSphere Portal to use security with LDAP Oracle Internet Directory (OID). The script for configuring works well (WPSConfig.bat action-secure-portal-ldap)
But when i start Portal Server it cannot start successfully. I did check in log file and found a error on SystemOut.log as attachment log below. I don't know what happen with WebSphere Portal Server.
If you guys know how to fix it please let me know or point me some documents to configure this again.
    Thanks in advanced.
Servlet E com.ibm.wps.engine.Servlet init EJPFD0016E: Initialization of service failed.
com.ibm.wps.ac.DomainAdministratorNotFoundException: EJPSB0107E: Exception occurred while retrieving the identity of the domain adminuser/admingroup uid=wpsadmin,cn=Users,dc=localhost,dc=com.

There is no clear documentation available to enable custom security but IBM info center has decent documentation for LDAP based security. I would say follow the steps mentioned for IBM directory and then modify the necessary configuration parameters for OID. This should solve your issues. For better help open a PMR with IBM to get necessary quick help.
