Oracle BI Portlet -Authentication Error in WebSphere Portal

We have deployed the oracle BI Portlet in WebSphere Portal Server.
We have made necessary changes in the portlet.xml and created the credential vault to store user information as well .
Our WebSpere Portal is integrated with LDAP Server .
When the Portal Admin logs in he can see the reports in Oracle BI Portlet ......however a non admin user gets the following error message.
Authentication error. Details: An invalid User Name or Password was entered.

I am trying to Integrate Between Weblogic Portal and OBIEE.

OBIEE : 11g
Integration Using: Report UI Portlet

While creating OBIEE environment "weblogic" user was setup as "Administrator" account.

Kindly let me know your thoughts on following.
1. Am i missing any steps?
2. Is it possible that Portal 10.3 and OBIEE 11g is not compatible?
3. Admin Username and password that i specified in Report UI portlet's preferences, is it wrong user (or user from wrong group maybe)? Do i need to specify user who is from another group?
4. I changed "SAWServer" url and port in web.xml. Is that okay?
5. Is there any way, i can get more detailed information from OBIEE Server by enabling certain kind of debug?
Let me know if any input is needed from my side. Any input is highly appreciated.

BI portlet "Authentication error" on WebCenter

I'm trying to deploy BI reportUI portlet to WebCenter server.
Following the introduction on BI document:
1. Download sawjsr168portlets.war
2. Edit portlet.xml and set oracle.bi.presentation.sawserver.URL, oracle.bi.presentation.portlets.jsr168.reportui.AdminUserName and oracle.bi.presentation.portlets.jsr168.reportui.AdminPwd
3. Deploy the portlet to Jdevelper preconfigured OC4J successfully.
4. Consuming BI ReportUI portlet within JSF page
After I click "customize" of the generated "Oracle Business Intelligence Report View Portlet" and input the "report path", which is a qualified URL accessible on IE brower,
a error displays:
"Authentication error. Details: An invalid User Name or Password was entered."
Check the log file and find some error message like:

I was able to resolve the authentication error by securing the web center application using container based security.

I have written following code in my page flow controller in order to access file from a shared location:

Use something like HTTPClient (instead of URLConnection) which will let you specify Username/password for basic auth

Deploying ADF/JDeveloper portlets in WebSphere Portal

I'd like to use ADF/JDeveloper to build my application, but my customer is already heavily invested on a WebSphere Portal deployment platform. The JDeveloper/ADF documentation has extensive information on creating portlets in various ways, but they all seem focused exclusively on deploying in an Oracle platform. I have tried both the "Standards-Based" as well as the "JSF Portlet Bridge". I have tried to deploy the portlets in WebSphere Portal using both the generated WAR file, as well as by registering the WSRP producer. None work.
With the WAR file, WebSphere Portal seems to import the WAR file just fine, and I can add a portlet to a page, but the portlet always shows as "unavaiable"
With the WSRP producer, I can get something to show in the page, but the functionality within the portlet doesn't seem to work.
I've searched extensively, but cannot locate any documentation or use cases for deploying portlets from JDeveloper into WebSphere Portal. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Dvohra21, again, I apreciate the effort, but I think you're missing the fundamental question.
You've given me two types of articles/links. Some are generic WebSphere Portal documentation about deploying a portlet from a WAR file. Others are Oracle articles about who to generate portlets in JDeveloper, with examples deploying in Oracle/WebLogic servers. Unfortunately I don't have a problem with either of those.
I CAN deploy a portlet WAR file in WebSphere Portal, and sucessfully add it to a Portal page. I have done that with multiple WAR files generated from Rational Application Developer.
I CAN produce a WAR file from JDeveloper, following the instructions in the same resources you included, plus a few others.
The problem is, the WAR file from JDeveloper, does not successfully run on WebSphere Portal. I create a simple Hello World portlet in JDeveloper, and I can generate a WAR file from it, and seemingly deploy to WebSphere Portal. However when I add it to a Portal page, it always displays only a blank box with the text "This portlet is unavailable". This is in the same exact portal page, where the portlet created with Rational Application Developer shows up just fine right along side it.
Bottomline is, although there is a great deal of information an demos about generating portlets from JDeveloper within an Oracle environment, I could not find a SINGLE ONE, that goes through an end to end scenario where it is deployed in WebSphere Portal. Nothing in this forum, nothing in Oracle docs, and nothing I can find on a Google search.

Error integrating OBIEE portlet with WebSphere Portal

Configure WebSphere Portal Server to use LDAP (Oracle Internet Directory)

I did configuration for WebSphere Portal to use security with LDAP Oracle Internet Directory (OID). The script for configuring works well (WPSConfig.bat action-secure-portal-ldap)
But when i start Portal Server it cannot start successfully. I did check in log file and found a error on SystemOut.log as attachment log below. I don't know what happen with WebSphere Portal Server.
If you guys know how to fix it please let me know or point me some documents to configure this again.

There is no clear documentation available to enable custom security but IBM info center has decent documentation for LDAP based security. I would say follow the steps mentioned for IBM directory and then modify the necessary configuration parameters for OID. This should solve your issues. For better help open a PMR with IBM to get necessary quick help.

Register the Oracle 9iFS Portlet with Oracle Portal

I did register the Oracle 9iFS Portlet with Oracle Portal.
But when I am adding the portlet to a portal page I get the error:
"500 Internal Server Error"
When I am trying to access the page by url:
http://<myserver>:7777/ifs/portlet
I get the error:
"You are not authorized to view this page"

not a problem with BEA , just means your database has been configured to close your session after a period of inactivity(which is normal).
Check you connection pool testing settings and tune accordingly.

Oracle bi authentication error

I am getting authentication error when I tried to login in to oracle bi publisher when I tried to save an i bot again I get authentication error. Is there anyway for me to override authentication or what can caıuse something like this. any help would be appreciated

Hi,
You are probably encountering 2 different issues.
For BI Publisher:
With a default OBI installation the BI Publisher security model is set to "Oracle BI Server". So to log into BI Publisher the BI Server has to be up. It can also be the case that you created a new repository. Then you probably have not created and granted the right roles to the OBI user (i.e. XMLP_ADMIN etc. see the default paint.rpd or samplesales.rpd for those roles).
You can turn off the OBI authentication. For that you have to go the Admin tab, security configuration and use another security model (i.e. BI Publisher security).
For the iBot:
Did you follow all configuration steps as stated in the configuration guide? One step is to add the user, which you configured with the job manager, to the credential store. I think you missed that step.

I have recently started the working on UCM. I am developed the site designer. It is time for me publish the site. So I have installed the Oracle Publishing utility on Content server machine. I have installed the Oracle Subscription client on my machine.
I have created the destination in the Site studio publishing uitility. When i try to verify that it is saying Authentication Error.
I have configured the Content providers in the Client also. But Still I am getting the same problem. If any bady has any idea, please let me know. I think this doen't have atchments, other wise i could have upload the screen shots.

In the subscription Utility,
I have editing the destination, I have got the UUID for the destination as I have selected the subscription client.
In the Subscription client,
I have the content provider, I have given the same UUID for subscription client UUID. SSPU url is url of the Subscription Utility(http://10.16.21.124:8889), and SSPU password is the password of the Subsctiption utility (administration).
Then I have saved the information. I have restarted the both machines.
But still i am facing the same problem. So please correct me if I am going wrong.

larger database backup have been failing with below error from Networker backup tool.

Authentication error in portal

Hi
I get the following error on the portal after deploying :
"Error Occurred while processing RFC - "ABC" in CheckAuthorizations Method of XYZ Component. Please contact System Administrator".
I have checked the application properties tab in NWDS.The properties are:
Name:sap.authentication
Value:true
Description: Authentication mode
Please suggest me how to get rid of this error.

Are you calling any RFC? If yes, your problem might be with the authorization in R/3. The JCos which you are using in this application must be configured with the user IDs which have sufficient authorization to execute RFC in R/3.
