OAS and JSP Application Events

I installed the JSP patch to OAS 4.0.8.1. I am not able to run Java Server Pages. Whenever I try, I get an "Internal Server Error" message. I also get around 8 event log enteries per request. The following undocumented oracle errors occur.
OWS-04764
OWS-04517
OWS-04512

  • Singe Sign On bewteen Apex and JSP Application

    Hi,
    the following problem: We have a Apex and a jsp Webapplication. In Apex we use LDAP Authentication and Role Authorisation. The JSP page also uses LDAP to authenticate users.
    Now there is a request from the Java guys to use one of our pages because they need the information. They will include a link to our page and the user can simple click on it. Parameters are passed as usual using the f?p Syntax.
    But how can we pass the already authenticated user through to the Apex app? Are there any common ways to accomplish this? As both apps are used only inside the company I though of using NTLM but I have never done anything with it. On the basis of your experience how much efford will it be solve it with NTLM? And is it possible?
    Are there other/better recommendations?
    Dim

    Dim - Search this forum for examples of using the NTLM "page sentry". The key is that you need something accessible to your applicaiton's authentication scheme code (the page sentry in particular) from which you can obtain the authentication username (securely). This is usually a cookie, header value, or CGI environment variable.

  • Servlet and JSP in OAS

    I'm developing web application with OAS
    4.0.8.1 and JDeveloper 3.0 and I want to call

    I downloaded JSP for OAS from www.olab.com.
    In the Release note, there is a description

    In what configuration can I use servlet and

    I wish Oracle would get with the times and put out a product that

    Having us download Suns server to run servlets and JSP is

  • What is the diffrence between sap events and application events

    Hi all,
    what is the diffrence between sap events and application events.Can any one tell me with examples.
    regards,

    Hi,
    Look at this,
    <b>System Events (Default)</b>
    The event is passed to the application server, but does not trigger the PAI. If you have registered an event handler method in your ABAP program for the event (using the SET HANDLER statement), this method is executed on the application server.
    Within the event handler method, you can use the static method SET_NEW_OK_CODE of the global class CL_GUI_CFW to set a function code and trigger the PAI event yourself. After the PAI has been processed, the PBO event of the next screen is triggered.
    The advantage of using this technique is that the event handler method is executed automatically and there are no conflicts with the automatic input checks associated with the screen. The disadvantage is that the contents of the screen fields are not transported to the program, which means that obsolete values could appear on the next screen. You can work around this by using the SET_NEW_OK_CODE method to trigger field transport and the PAI event after the event handler has finished.
    <b>Application Events</b>
    The event is passed to the application server, and triggers the PAI. The function code that you pass contains an internal identifier. You do not have to evaluate this in your ABAP program. Instead, if you want to handle the event, you must include a method call in a PAI dialog module for the static method DISPATCH of the global class CL_GUI_CFW. If you have defined an event handler method in your ABAP program for the event (using the SET HANDLER statement), the DISPATCH method calls it. After the event handler has been processed, control returns to the PAI event after the DISPATCH statement and PAI processing continues.
    The advantage of this is that you can specify yourself the point at which the event is handled, and the contents of the screen fields are transported to the application server beforehand. The disadvantage is that this kind of event handling can lead to conflicts with the automatic input checks on the screen, causing events to be lost.
    Hope u understood.

  • Ideas pls for a small application on java and jsp?

    hi ,
    I would like to create an application which for resume. I would like to codify the java code . The java code should be able to autogenerate jsp file's since the output of the resume would be on an jsp page. To add it simply a wizard for dynamic resume creation using java swings and jsp. Code for jsp should be autogenerated please note it.
    Ideas please!
    Thanks in advance

    I'd like to add more information to Patreck's suggestion.
    JSP pages are wonderful if you need the web server to perform some actions before sending you the final web page.
    Here, you don't need the web server to do anything because your Swing application can do it for you. As Patreck implies, Swing can make a connection to the database, retrieve any information you want, perform whatever logic you need, and write the output to an HTML file.
    To give you an example, you can use Internet Explorer to view a basic web page on your hard disk. You can also use Microsoft Word to view the same basic web page. They both do the same task and there is no need to force IE to use its Word plug-in in order to view the web page.
    JSPs are not necessary because Swing will do all of the work for you. You only need JSPs if you want people to use your program through a web browser because they can't do Swing inside a web browser. You should only use one or the other, not both. Understand now?
    If you really really must generate JSP code from a Swing application, then just write out the JSP stuff in the file. For example...
    public void createWebPage( Printwriter pw, String myName ) {
       pw.println( "<% String myJSPName = \"" + myName + "\" %>" );
       pw.println( "<HTML>");
       pw.println( "<HEAD>");
       pw.println( "<TITLE>My Resume</TITLE>" );
       pw.println( "</HEAD>");
       pw.println( "<BODY>" );
       pw.println( "<H1>My name is " + myName + " and my JSP name is <%= myJSPName %></H1>" );
       pw.println( "</BODY>" );
       pw.println( "</HTML>" );
    }As you can see, it's pointless to embed JSP when you can do all the programming within Swing first and just write out the correct response.

  • When to use servlets and jsp in an application like  shoping cart?

    Hi All
    I m going to design and implement a web application using servelts and jsp. I am still at its requirements analyze stage.
    The application is almost likely a shopping cart. So if any of you have the deep knowledge about this domain with servlets and jsp please help me for a good design. What I realy need to know is that
    1. what are the core requirements for a shoping cart ?
    2. use cases ?
    3. best way to follow mvc with servlets and jsp for it?
    you can answer to this at the abstract level. no need to go in detail.

  • BC4J and OAS with Java Application Client

    Could you show me an example about using the BC4J and OAS with Java Application client.
    The JDeveloper Help is not enough to solve this kind of problem.
    Configuration:
    Jdeveloper 3.1
    OAS 4.0.8.1
    Database 7.3.4
    null

    if you can logon with client tools then that should be an indication that the service account running the CMS IS working! Good news.
    So the problem is likely with the java portion (krb5/bsclogin or java options)
    If the files are in c:\winnt\ (if not copy them there) and perform c:\program files\business objects\javasdk\bin\kinit username
    then enter and password/enter again
    Probably get the same message. To note in your krb5.ini all domain info must be in CAPS (the .com appears to be in lower case)
    kinit works with just the krb5.ini, java SDK and AD (removing BO config and the service account from the picture). Once that works if your java options are specified properly you should be able to login to CMC/infoview.
    also 1 last point. Add udp_preference_limit = 1 to the krb5 lib defaults section
    libdefaults
    default_realm = BD.com
    dns_lookup_kdc = true
    dns_lookup_realm = true
    udp_preference_limit = 1

    I would appreciate, if someone could share its experience of deploying the JSP application which utilizes certain JavaClasses for database access and businesslogic.
    My question is that do we need to add JSP files or .java files created under the myprojects directory. Also where do we place the java classes.
    Also, do I need to get my classpath settings in the environment variables for JSP's to run. Because my WinNT crashed twice on changing the env settings.
    Any help shall be appreciated

    You can use JDeveloper's Data Web Beans - these are data-aware controls for JSPs.
    Start by creating a JSP from scratch using the Business Components JSP application wizard. Instructions are in the online documentation, under:
    User Guides
    ->Developing Applications
    ->Developing Web Applications
    ->Creating a JSP application
    Or you can learn how to do this by stepping through the Business Components tutorial. The tutorial is also in the online documentation, under Tutorials and Sample Applications.
    Once you're more familiar with data-aware JSPs, you can customize a data-aware JSP or create your own from scratch. Instructions for customizing JSPs are also in the online documentation, following the instructions for creating a JSP.

  • What are application events and system events? what is difference between ?

    what are application events and system events? what is difference between ?

    The Control Framework triggers the event irrespective of the screen flow logic, that is, without processing the PAI and PBO events. These events are called system events. This type of event processing is the default setting.
    ·The Control Framework processes the PAI module after an event. In this case, you must call method CL_GUI_CFW=>DISPATCHto initiate the event handling of ABAP Objects. These events are called application events.
    Application Event : you must first register the events for the control instance and consequently on the frontend.
    like..
    DATA events TYPE cntl_simple_events.
    DATA wa_events TYPE cntl_simple_event.
    1. Using field
    appl_event , define the event as an application event:
    wa_events-appl_event = 'X'.
    System events are passed on irrespective of the flow logic of the relevant screen.
    1. Change the value of field
    wa_events-appl_event in the PBO module:
    wa_events-appl_event = SPACE.

  • What components do I need to develop and run JSP applications?

    I am currently developing a JSP-based application using Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, and JDBC. I'm considering switching to Oracle since I know it better and it has better support for certain capabilities.
    But, it's very confusing trying to determine from the Oracle sites just what I need and which platforms are supported. What do I need to buy and what can I download?
    So, which Oracle components do I need to develop and test JSP applications using Application Server? I'll probably get into XML as well.
    Does any of it run on Win98, WinNT, Win2000, or SolarisIntel? I likely will not deploy on any of these platforms, but it would be convenient to develop on my Intel laptop, if possible.

    Oracle's IAS includes an Apache and Jserv with JSP runtime by default.
    You could simply migrate your Apache/Tomcat JSP to Apache/Jserv/Oracle JSP without problems, including win32 plattform.
    To run Servlet compliant with JSDK 2.2+ you has to use Apache mod_ose module with your servlets and jsp running inside the Oracle JVM, this combination is more scallable and secure for big projects, but it requires more hardware for your laptop.
    Best regards, Marcelo.
