OATS can test an application security

Hi everybody, i got a question, Does anyone know if OATS or an Oracle component, module, pack, etc is able to check and test an application security like data encryption, sql injection, safe communication protocols, malicious code?
Your answer will be very useful.
Thanks in advance

I know we use "App Scan" but I think it's quite expensive.

    Once I have created the .ipa file that I have to do?

    In creating the IPA you would have used a provisioning profile. If that is a development one, or a distribution ad hoc one, you will have chosen what devices the IPA is allowed to work on.
    So, make a distribution ad hoc profile that includes all of the devices on your iPhone developer account, and make the IPA using that profile. Now when you have made the IPA you can give it to the people who own those devices.
    If they are all your own devices (or people who you see each day) you could connect each one to your Mac, and use Xcode's Organizer or Devices window (depending on which version of Xcode you use) and drag the IPA into the Applications list for the device.
    If the devices are owned by other people you don't get to see, you can either send the IPA to them and they would use iTunes to get it onto their device, or if you can post the IPA online you can send a link to them, and they can install the IPA directly from the web page.
    The web server will have to be HTTPS, you can't use HTTP services since iOS 7.1 came out. To post the IPA online you can use this utility:

    If you can't run the latest version because your system doesn't meet the requirements, it's highly recommended that you use another browser that is secure. TenFourFox is a third-party build of Firefox that is kept up-to-date and runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and PowerPC Macs (as a side note, I've never seen the site go down; whatever problems James noticed 9 months ago must've been a fluke).

  • The Secure Store Service application Secure Store Service Proxy is not accessible

    I am working on setting up a new SharePoint 2013 Farm for our external web site which is currently running on 2010 SharePoint. Because this is an External Website for our organization we have an internally available Publishing Site and there is an Web App
    Extension to provide Anon Access to users using the www address. Currently I am doing everything on a single server for testing with HOSTS entries to loop back so I can test with real host headers and not impact the 2010 prod environment. We will be setting
    up 2 more WFEs with a NLB before moving this into prod but it isn't there yet. We brought the Site Collection Databases over but are still running in 2010 mode for now.
    I migrated a copy of the Secure Store Database over from 2010 and had it put on the 2013 Farm's Database Server. Set up Secure Store and the Secure Store Proxy. I went into the Secure Store Proxy in CA and refreshed the Key with the proper Pass Phrase. After
    doing that I could see the Target Application IDs listed. Everything was looking good so I went off to test. If I am on the publishing site I can go to a page that has the solution on it and it operates as expected. It does a query to a non SharePoint database
    and returns information filtered based on the search parameters. The only odd thing I see is if I click on the "Site Actions" I get a message "An error has occurred with the data fetch. Please refresh page and retry." Need to look into
    that more but it only happens on pages that have these solutions. Maybe a clue. If I go to the Anonymous Access page (www......) and try and use the solution, it immediately (way too quick to appear like it is doing anything) comes back with "The security
    token request cannot be completed."
    If I dig through the usage logs I am finding the following.
    The Secure Store Service application Secure Store Service Proxy is not accessible. The full exception text is: The security token request cannot be completed.
    Unexpected exception from endpoint address : https://[Servername]:32844/4e87fd3aabb640fb8cc3ed52188cf5c0/SecureStoreService.svc/https
    Logging unknown/unexpected client side exception: InvalidOperationException. This will cause this application server to be removed from the load balancer queue. Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: The security token request cannot be completed.

    Boolean validateCanary, ExecuteDelegate`1 operation).
    Initially I was fighting a firewall issue because it wasn't working (different errors) on both sides. Had Network Engineers open firewall ports needed and now it works on the publishing side. Still the same error on the Anon side. I suspect I have missed
    something when it comes to configuring the Secure Store to allow access to anonymous connections.
    Let me know if you need any more information but that should paint a pretty good picture as to how things are set up.
    Thanks for any help on this one. Searches haven't found much that has helped so far.

    Hi Sennister,
    I recommend to verify the things below:
    Did this issue occur with all the pages in the anonymous side?
    Check if the Claims to Windows Token Service is started.
    Change the <identity impersonate="true" /> in the web.config to see if the issue still occurs.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • Error while testing an application service

    Hi,
    I have created a project wherein I have imported a standard BAPI as an external service and calling this external service in an application service.
    Following is the code used for the same:
    public com.sap.esproj.appsrv.datatypes.CompanyData getUserDetails(java.lang.String id) throws com.sap.caf.rt.exception.ServiceException {
            // logging
            java.lang.String CAF_user = sessionContext.getCallerPrincipal().getName();
            java.lang.String CAF_methodHeader = ESAppServiceBean.JARM_REQUEST + ":" + "getUserDetails(java.lang.String)";
            Object[] CAF_parameters = new Object[] {id};
            com.sap.caf.rt.util.CAFPublicLogger.entering(CAF_user, ESAppServiceBean.JARM_REQUEST, CAF_methodHeader, ESAppServiceBean.location, CAF_parameters);
              com.sap.esproj.appsrv.datatypes.CompanyData retValue;
              try {
    //@@custom code start - getUserDetails(java.lang.String)
                   retValue = null;
    //                  Create data container for Input-Parameter and fill it.
                   BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL
                         params = new BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL();
                         params.setUSERNAME(id);
    //                  Get reference to the object representing the external service call.
                   BAPI__USER__GET__DETAILLocal bapi_local = this.getBAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL();
                   try {
    //                  Call the BAPI.
    //                  Return value of this method call contains all the data that the BAPI returns.
                        BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL_dot_Response result = bapi_local.BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL(params);
    //                  Retrieve the address structure out of the result data container.
                     BAPIADDR3 addr =
                   result.getADDRESS();
    //                  Fill the application services return structure.
                     retValue = new CompanyData();
                     retValue.setFirstName(addr.getFIRSTNAME());
                     retValue.setLastName(addr.getLASTNAME());
                   } catch (Exception e) {
                     e.printStackTrace();
                     throw new ServiceException(e);
    //@@custom code end - getUserDetails(java.lang.String)
                 return retValue;
            } finally {
                com.sap.caf.rt.util.CAFPublicLogger.exiting(CAF_user, ESAppServiceBean.JARM_REQUEST, CAF_methodHeader, ESAppServiceBean.location, CAF_parameters);
    I have also completed external service configuration.
    There is no compile time error and deployment is successful. When I try to test the application service I am getting the following error: ERROR. The following exception occured while processing your request: com.sap.caf.rt.exception.ServiceException.:
    Can anyone help me in resolving this error.

  • How can I know the security role of the logged in user

    When you design an enterprise bean or Web component, you should always think about the kinds of users who will access the component. For example, an Account enterprise bean might be accessed by customers, bank tellers, and branch managers. Each of these user categories is called a security role, an abstract logical grouping of users that is defined by the person who assembles the application. When an application is deployed, the deployer will map the roles to security identities in the operational environment.
    But wondering when I log into my application with some user name and password (specified in my Oracle database),wondering how this works with the security role I created .How does J2EE know the security role of the logged in user.
    Thanks
    Manohar

    role at run time.
    When I login say as "manju" and password as "money" then how does it know that this user belongs to this security role.Is that the j2ee administrator has to say that user manju has this this security role.Programmitically how does it really work.I am confusedThe j2ee implementation assigns the roles using the JAAS module you have configured for your application on your application server. different JAAS modules get roles in different ways. many allow a single static role to be assigned using a config file. if using a database, often there will be configuration to specify additional database fields which specify the role for a given username.
    At runtime, a developer can test roles using methods like EJBContext.isCallerInRole().

  • Testing my Application

    I have developed an RMI application and would like to test how it will perform in real like. Are there any softwares available that I can use to test my application, particularly regarding performance, scalability and security.
    regards

    I think the short answer is "no". On the other hand, you haven't defined what performance you are looking for, what has to be scaleable. You also haven't defined what "secure" means.

    When accessing the websites "https://www.national-lottery.co.uk" and "https://portal.wmpfonline.com" I am given the below message:
    Safari can't open the page "https://www.national-lottery.co.uk" because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "www.national-lottery.co.uk".
    Initially when I bought my Macbook Air these sites worked perfectly. Also, when I clear website data it will work for a short period of time (roughly 2 minutes) but other times that makes no difference.  I have tried using FireFox but I still have an issue accessing these sites.  When in recovery mode both sites work perfectly fine without an issue.
    Is anyone able to help me with this issue?  I have been searching and searching for a week to find a solution to this problem.
    Thank you all in advance

    This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are several possible causes for it.
    Back up all data, then take each of the following steps that you haven't already taken. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Date & Time
    Select the Time Zone tab in the preference pane that opens and check that the time zone matches your location. Then select the Date & Time tab. Check that the data and time shown (including the year) are correct, and correct them if not.
    Check the box marked
              Set date and time automatically
    if it's not already checked, and select one of the Apple time servers from the menu next to it.
    Step 2
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemCACertificates.keychain
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Show Info
    from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open. The dialog should show "You can only read" in the Sharing & Permissions section.
    Repeat with this line:
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
    If instead of the Info dialog, you get a message that either file can't be found, reinstall OS X.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it by pressing command-V. Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.
    Step 3
    Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    In the upper left corner of the window, you should see a list headed Keychains. If not, click the button in the lower left corner that looks like a triangle inside a square.
    In the Keychains list, there should be items named System and System Roots. If not, select
              File ▹ Add Keychain
    from the menu bar and add the following items:
    /Library/Keychains/System.keychain
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
    Open the View menu in the menu bar. If one of the items in the menu is
              Show Expired Certificates
    select it. Otherwise it will show
              Hide Expired Certificates
    which is what you want.
    From the Category list in the lower left corner of the window, select Certificates. Look carefully at the list of certificates in the right side of the window. If any of them has a blue-and-white plus sign or a red "X" in the icon, double-click it. An inspection window will open. Click the disclosure triangle labeled Trust to disclose the trust settings for the certificate. From the menu labeled
              Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
    select
              no value specified
    Close the inspection window. You'll be prompted for your administrator password to update the settings.
    Now open the same inspection window again, and select
              When using this certificate: Use System Defaults
    Save the change in the same way as before.
    Revert all the certificates with non-default trust settings. Never again change any of those settings.
    Step 4
    Select My Certificates from the Category list. From the list of certificates shown, delete any that are marked with a red X as expired or invalid.
    Export all remaining certificates, delete them from the keychain, and reimport. For instructions, select
              Help ▹ Keychain Access Help
    from the menu bar and search for the term "export" in the help window. Export each certificate as an individual file; don't combine them into one big file.
    Step 5
    From the menu bar, select
              Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ Certificates
    There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to  CRL.
    Step 6
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    /var/db/crls
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    A folder named "crls" should open. Move all the files in that folder to the Trash. You’ll be prompted for your administrator login password.
    Restart the computer, empty the Trash, and test.
    Step 7
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    open -e /etc/hosts
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    Launch the built-in Terminal application in the same way you launched Keychain Access.
    Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1                              localhost
    255.255.255.255          broadcasthost
    ::1                                        localhost
    fe80::1%lo0                    localhost
    If that's not what you see, post the contents of the window.

  • Generate Test Data application

    Hi all,
    i'm looking for an application wich populates tables from one database schema with data.
    I have designed and implemented database, create tables, index , keys etc .
    Now i need to fill those empty tables with data, developers are building applications based on that tables .. .wich are empty ... i need then wich data so i can test application performance etc ...
    Thanks for you help
    Best Regards
    Rui Madaleno

    I should know of a product designed to take (production) data and manipulate it into test data but with changed data values to protect the privacy and security of the source data. It will maintain FK relationships etc... I think the vendor name is something like Princeton Solftech.

  • Prblem with testing container-based security apps with JSC/AppServer 8...

    not sure whether this is a JSC or an AppServer issue, correct me if neccessary...
    I'm using container based security to dicate logic based upon user names & roles for my test JSC app. The problem is that when I run the app by autodeploying it to my Sun AppServer 8 instance (same machine, WinXP Pro) the security settings eems to be cached. That is, if I change the security roles or permissions in the container by editing the web.xml file the changes aren't reflected in the app upon redeployment. I have to copy it to a new directory and deploy as a new app to see any security change. It seems that the old usernames and roles are cached -even if I manually restart the app server. Is this a JSC or an ApPServer issue? Am I missing something? Is there an easier way for me reset security data when testing an application? Thanx in advance...

    while your solution may technically work, it is unusable to me because I can't successfully deploy a war file using JSC after I've manually added container-based descriptors to the web.xml file. In order for me even to be able to deploy the app I need to modify web.xml and sun-web.xml by hand in the build directory
