OBCD table
Hi can someone help me in understanding the relevance of maintaining OBCD table when invoices are recd thru EDI in sap....can i skip the checking of invoice idov tax code checking with OBCD table....becaus ein case ox taxusx procedure ...for teh same tax code various tax rates are recd from verex all depending upon teh juriscdiction codes in the PO ...hence it becomes too cumbersome to maintain all these various combinations in OBCD ..also at times the tax rate for the same tax code may not be maintained also in OBCD ..sinec we donot know for which combination of jurisdiction code what tax rate will be fetched to SAp from vertex ...and hence the invoice fails then ......pls let me know what would be teh repurcussions if teh check with OBCD is skipped when teh incoming invoice thru idoc is triggered.....and how can this be done........

You have to do it, because it's the important master data for EDI conversion, and you only need to do it only one time for each vendor, then that will be fine! It's not difficult!

Tax conversion during Intercompany EDI (RD04 output)
We have a situation where there is an intercompany billing from company A to B - both of them are in different countries and hence follow different tax codes. The RD04 output posts the AP document in company code B with a different tax code. We have checked OBCD, and this does not carry any relevent config. What else governs this conversion ?

I went to CUNI again and under ALE/EDI, the field was already populated with EA. The solution was that I just need to check the "Primary" box under that field and the error message went away.
Now, I'm getting a new error message after simulating the IDOC again in WE19:

I've already maintain transaction OBCD with input tax codes but I'm not sure whether I did it correctly. I'd like to know how the system would know which tax code to take or choose from OBCD table? The GL 191100 under transaction FS00 allows input tax codes only.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

1.Activate the New General Ledger Accounting by a single click on the clock icon
2.You will reach to change view "activation of New GL A/cg" detail screen and tick the checkbox and save.
3. After activation of New General Ledger Accounting, you exit the IMG screen When you re-enter , you find that a new node is added Financial Accounting (New)
4.After activation of New General Ledger Accounting , a new sub node appears in the IMG structure.
This sub node is Define Segment
The menu path is:
SAP Customizing IMG ---> Enterprise Structure -
> Definition ---> Financial Accounting ---> Define Segment
In this IMG activity, you define your segments.
If you then define your profit centers, you can enter an associated segment in the master record of a profit center. The segment is then derived from the assigned profit center during posting.

6.Leading and Non- Leading Ledgers
In General Ledger Accounting , you can use several Ledgers in parallel. This allows you to produce financial statements according to different accounting principles. A ledger uses several dimensions from the totals table it is based upon. When defining Ledgers , one must be defined as the Leading Ledger . The Leading Ledger is based on the same accounting principles as that of the consolidated financial statements. It is integrated with all subsidiary ledgers and is updated in all company codes. This means that it is automatically assigned to all company codes. In each company code, the Leading Ledger receives exactly the same settings that apply to that company code : the currencies, the fiscal year variant and posting period variant .
You must designate one of your ledgers as the Leading Ledger. It is not possible to designate more than one ledger as the leading ledger.

Clicking on the checkbox identifies one of your ledgers as the Leading Ledger.
7. Activation of Non Leading Ledgers
Non Leading Ledgers are parallel ledgers to the Leading Ledger . They can be based on local accounting principle, for example. You have to activate a non- Leading Ledger for individual company codes. Non- Leading Ledgers can have different fiscal year variants and posting period variants per company code to the Leading Ledger of this company code.

8.Assign scenarios to ledgers
A Scenario combines Customizing settings from different business views. Each business view specifies which posting data is transferred from different application components in General Ledger Accounting, such as cost Center update or Profit Center update .You assign the desired scenarios to your ledgers. For each ledger, you define which fields are filled with posting data from other application components.
SAP delivers a number of scenarios in the standard system. It is not possible to create additional scenarios.

we are using EDI and table T076M but we have an issue in cases where between original delivery and return of the same the VAT code / percentage has changed. As T076M is not time dependant like the sales condition tables we need to have user exit or other workarround.
Please, can you share your workarrounds / experiences with me.

ThomasThe table for tax code is T076M - maintainable using T code OBCD. For EDI file number, execute T Code WE02 - enter IDoc number and execute (F8). In the right window pane, choose select layout -> change layout and pick up the field Interchange file reference. Guess this is what you are looking for.
OR
Go to transaction WE02 or WE05 enter Idoc number and choose execute. When Idoc data is displayed double click on Control Record in left pane. Choose Details tab. Interchangable file under References.
You can also refer the entries in table EDIDC.
Reference to interchange file:
This field contains the reference number of the interchange file in which the EDI message was transmitted. -

sri ram.00600 errors should be raised as service request with Oracle as it implies some internal bug.
You can search oracle support first to see if anyone has had the same class of 00600 error, and then if not (and therefore no patch) raise your issue with Oracle.

Logical level in Fact tables - best practice
Hi all,
I am currently working on a complex OBIEE project/solution where I am going straight to the production tables, so the fact (and dimension) tables are pretty complex since I am using more sources in the logical tables to increase performance. Anyway, what I am many times struggling with is the Logical Levels (in Content tab) where the level of each dimension is to be set. In a star schema (one-to-many) this is pretty straight forward and easy to set up, but when the Business Model (and physical model) gets more complex I sometimes struggle with the aggregates - to get them work/appear with different dimensions. (Using the menu "More" - "Get levels" does not allways give the best solution......far from). I have some combinations of left- and right outer join as well, making it even more complicated for the BI server.
For instance - I have about 10-12 different dimensions - should all of them allways be connected to each fact table? Either on Detail or Total level. I can see the use of the logical levels when using aggregate fact tables (on quarter, month etc.), but is it better just to skip the logical level setup when no aggregate tables are used? Sometimes it seems like that is the easiest approach...
Does anyone have a best practice concerning this issue? I have googled for this but I haven't found anything good yet. Any ideas/articles are highly appreciated.Hi User,

for example for the sales table if u want to report at ProductDimension.ProductnameLevel then u should use detail level else total level(at Product,employee level)

If joins do not exist between fact table sources and dimension table sources (for example, if the same physical table is in both sources), the aggregation content determined by the administration tool will not include the aggregation content of this dimension.

Rendering xml-table into logical filename in SAP R/3

I am trying to translate an xml-table with bytes into a logical filepath in SAP R3.
Do I have to use the method gui-download or shall I loop the internal xml-table?
When I tried to loop the xml-table into a structure, and then transfering the structure into the logical filename, I get problems with the line breaks in my xml-file. How do I get the lines to break exactly the same as I wrote them in my ABAP-code?

If your tables are big it could be necessary to do the filtering (according to your condition) in an early step (the first CTE).

But I can not Insert/update data of table_new by SI Oject Browser tool or Oracle SQL Developer tool .(read only)

Unable to capture the adf table column sort icons using open script tool

The error occurs in Release BI_CONT 703 Support Package 9.
If you require an advance correction for Support Package 9, make the following manual changes if the InfoObject 0TCTLSTCHG is inactive in your system.
1. Use transaction RSA1 to call the Data Warehousing Workbench.
2. Check whether the InfoObject 0TCTLSTCHG was already activated by the compilation process the first time you called transaction RSA1. You can use transaction RSD1 to check this by entering 0TCTLSTCHG in the "InfoObject" field and choosing "Display". Proceed as follows if the InfoObject is still not active:
3. Go to BI Content activation.
4. Select "Object Types".
5. Open the "InfoObjects" tree and select "Objects".
6. Search for the InfoObject 0TCTLSTCHG and select it.
7. Transfer the object and activate it.
These steps activate the required component type /BI0/OITCTLSTCHG. You can check again in transaction RSD1 to ensure that the InfoObject 0TCTLSTCHG is available as active.

Oracle Client 10.2.0.5 32 bits for windows 7 64bits
Hi I do not have access to oracle support, but I really need to download this patch in order to install it on Windows 7 64 bits and 2008 R2... Please somebody can put me this patch on a share/ftp or other ? Because I really need this.. Thanks a lot.
