OBIA - Answer error :  [nQSError: 27037] Unresolved level

HI,
We installed the OOTB OBIA sandbox and I'm unable to create a column formula with the time function AGO in Answer.
I tried : AGO("Fact - Sales Invoice Lines"."Invoiced Amount", "Core"."Date"."Year",1) where "Core"."Date"."Year" is from the BMM hierarchies.
I tried many combinations for the time_level unsuccessfully.
I got the follwing error :
Formula syntax is invalid.
[nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 27037] Unresolved level: "Core"."Date"."Year". (HY000)
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you for any help you could provide.
Gaétan

Ok, I found out why it wasn't working, I had to add the Hierarchy in the column formula.
This is the default way in the column formula editor : AGO("Fact - Sales Order Lines"."Ordered Quantity","Time"."Year", 1)
I had to add : AGO("Fact - Sales Order Lines"."Ordered Quantity","Time"."Time"."Year", 1) to make it work,
I don't understand why when you pick it in the column formula editor, you're unable to get the complete string for the time_level parameter.
Do you know why?

  • Nqserror 27005 Unresolved column error

I'm using the default RPD provided with Oracle BI Apps (OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd) and default catalog EnterpriseBusinessAnalytics. I am getting the following error in the Service - CRM Activities subject area:
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 27005] Unresolved column: "- Activity Facts"."# of Activities". (HY000)
    I have
    1) Checked the linking from presentation layer to physical layer and the column is properly linked in all layers
    2) Checked all the logical joins with other tables and all columns involved in the joins are present.
When i run the dashboard Service Employee --> My To Do List, the "Call Back Queue" report fails with the above error. However, when i create the same report in Answers by adding the same columns along with "# Of Activities" the report runs fine.
    Please help me.

  • How avoid the error nQSError: 15018 in Answers?

    Hi
I have a DWH with 45 fact tables and 146 dimensions. The model is star, in OBI EE the physical and the logical layers are similars.
In the presentation Layer, I group the 45 facts in 6 subject areas, in each subject area I include the dimensions to have relation with the facts in this subject areas. However some dimensions that have relation with a facts, don't have relations with others.
The problem is that the user sees all dimensions an all facts of a subject area and select items of dimensions that not have relation with the fact to analyze, then the user receive the error:
"State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 15018] Incorrectly defined logical table source (for fact table XXXX) does not contain mapping for [YYYY.ZZZZZ]. (HY000)"
This project is a migration of reports from Oracle Discoverer, in Discoverer the user select the fact an only the dimensions with Foreign Keys to this fact are availables, others are hide. Exist some behavior similar in OBI EE?, what is the best practice to avoit the error nQSError: 15018?
    Edwin

    Hi
Thank you for your reply. I want clarify that the subject areas are in the presentation layers how presentation catalogs, in the business and model mapping layer only exist one business model and in the physical layer only exist one database and one schema.
In the business model diagram I see the differents facts and its dimensions in star model. The question is:
Do I need to separate the facts in differents presentation catalogs?
The presentation catalog in the presentation layer organize the information with a business point of view. I think that the users don't need to know the model, however with this behavior the user receive errors when cross information from tables than don't have relationships.
I would like to see a similar behavior than discoverer, where the dimensions are hidden or not depending that the fact selected.
    Thanks
    Edwin

    What is wrong then?

    Hi,
What do you mean by It runs OK ?
    1) have you tried pulling data from physical layer? are you able to see data here ?
    2) Cross check your connection pool it may pointing to other schema which is not available.
    hope it helped you

  • How to find better SQL log in OBI Answers?

While I have an error in making an OBI request in Answers page, the error message in the result tab is usually not very helpful, like:

SQL Issued: SELECT "Sales Facts Current Month"."Amount Sold (000) Current Month", "Sales Facts"."Amount Sold", Calendar."Calendar Month Desc", Calendar."Calendar Month Name", Products."Prod Category" FROM SHI then go to Session Monitor, and click the View Log link. By doing so, sometimes, I got the full sql statement. That is good and I can figure out the problems. Sometimes, I have things like:
    -------------------- SQL Request:

Created by:     AdministratorThis does not help as the selected tables are not fully spell out. It appear like that OBI find the sql in cache and did process the request fully.
Is there a way I can force OBI resend the request? Is there a way to get OBI log the full sql statement? That way I can copy the sql to SQL*Plus and find exactly the problem
    Thanks.

Physical SQL is not visible as it hits the cache.
    you can :
    1) clear the physical cache from rpd and re-run the request.
    or
    2) copy the logical SQL, go to web Admin - issue SQL--paste the logical SQL there, then just change one parameter or two, so it does not hit the cache. E.g. change a filter to Feb from Jan...or just add a dummy column at the beginning as select 1 or select 'a' ....rest of the sql same.
this way you can avoid hitting the cache and see the sql (at the bottom of the results - view log)
make sure you have checked the presentation server cache option and set the log level to 4 or more to see details.

Errors comes from a dashboard that contains several reports, section conditions, dashboard prompts.
Is it possible to identify exact object (specific report / dashboard prompt ...) causing this error?

It was not the case. Repository and report was ok. To find where is the issue I needed to add objects to new dashboard individually and see when error shows up.
The problem seems to be OBIEE 11.1.1.6 bug. Issue occurs in dashboard prompt when I add any "Variable Prompt" and sepeify choice list with custom values. Then when I use it in dashboard and click "Apply" all works fine, but there is an error added to BI server log file: Unresolved column: "report"."variables".
Reproduced it in totally new dashboard prompt with just one "Variable Prompt".
Workaround: created dedicated database table "VALUES_LIST" and filled with all combo box values needed in reports, added it to repository, and now use only "Column Prompt" in all dashbaord prompts. Not perfect solution but want to have logs clear before going live...

  • NQSError: 27005 Unresolved Column - No Column Security Applied

This error is occurring randomly on some analytics for all those users who do not belong to BI Administrator Role.
I have searched for the solution of this error and found that by setting the parameter PROJECT_INACCESSIBLE_COLUMN_AS_NULL in NQSConfig.ini will resolve this issue. But firstly this is the case when you have applied the security on column but I haven't applied security on any column. Secondly I have looked in NQSConfig.ini and the above mentioned parameter's value is already set to Yes.
When I gave the BI Administrator Role to any user than this error do not occurr.
    Can anyone help.

The above error persists if i open the standard reports on SAMPLESALES in shared folders.
    2) In manage sessions window when i want to check the log file generated for the query run.Its giving me LOG NOT FOUND.
Can anyone help me out on this issue.
    TIA,
    Kranthi.

    Hi Kranthi,
    Here are my responses:
    1) I am working on only one database but different RPD's according to my requirement im building it.When i write it into answers as different sheets and saving >them into my folders catalog.
To see the saved work also is it neccessary to have multiple presentation layer, multiple RPD on single servers??Explain me on this??Response: Each presentation server can only communicate with 1 RPD. They use an ODBC connection (AnalyticsWeb is that system DSN ODBCconnection) to communicate to that RPD via the BI Server. By default, the Presentation server communicates with the default repository. You have to override this default behavior if you want a different user experience.
So right now, you only have 1 active RPD at a time, which is the one that is the "Default". Unless you setup multiple system DSN's and multiple presentation services, you'll be stuck in the position you are where if you want to run Report A from repository 1, then Repository 1 has to be the active repository.
2)If we want to see saved sheet in answers,is it must we should set the concerned RPD to default??Response: I kind of covered this a little bit in my last response, but yes. By default, OBIEE on install only sets up a single System DSN connection called AnalyticsWeb. This connection, by default, connects to the default RPD. It is the only way for a Presentation Server to communicate to the RPD. So if you only have 1 System DSN defined at a time, then you have to always have that RPD be the default so the Presentation Server can communicate with it. Otherwise, you'll need to setup additional System DSN's (1 for each RPD). See the link I posted in my last message on how to set that up.
    3) if i have more than 10 RPD's in same database, should i change this these many times??Response: There is no limit to how many RPD's or presentation servers you can have on a single install of OBIEE. That being said, as a best practice I would recommend not going past the 5 you already have. Instead of having multiple RPDs against the same sources, you should make different BMM layers in OBIEE using the same RPD. This will reduce redundant physical connections across the RPDs. You can also setup a projects and a multi-user development (MUD) environment on a single RPD that has multiple BMM folders.
4)Im the administrator user and im developing reports. For me only this issue is coming up.What about when i give access to other members??Response: If you continue your development as is, users will only be able to access reports against the live or "Default" RPD. All other reports you are creating will give errors similar to the title of this post. This is why I would further recommend that you consolidate your RPDs into a single file.
Why did you originally create 5 RPDs? What was the business requirement behind that?
    Thanks!
    -Joe

On Google search, i found below article which is best matching for this error
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324321
I have follows each step of troubleshooting. But still the issue persists.
Step 1. The login does not exist == The login is very much exist in the domain as i am able to add the same domain id to other database instances
Step 2. Duplicate security identifiers == i have used this query to find duplicate SID
    /*  SELECT name FROM syslogins WHERE sid = SUSER_SID ('YourDomain\YourLogin') */
But there was only one row returned with create date of today's.
Error while Assigning database level role (db_datareader) to SQL login (Domain Account)
Step 3. Authentication failure == Domain is available. User is able to login on other servers via RDP connection.
Step 4. Case sensitivity == Database collation is set to Case insensitivity. (CI)
Other two 5. Local Accounts & 6. Name resolution == is not applicable to me.
    I tried other ways also.
    A. Creating login and providing permission in one go only = User account is not created
    B. Instead of GUI, use query to create login and provide required permission = Same error.

  • Errors in the high-level relational engine. A connection could not be made to the data source with the DataSourceID of '

When I deploy the cube which is sitting on my PC (local) the following 4 errors come up:
Error 1 The datasource , 'AdventureWorksDW', contains an ImpersonationMode that that is not supported for processing operations.  0 0
Error 2 Errors in the high-level relational engine. A connection could not be made to the data source with the DataSourceID of 'Adventure Works DW', Name of 'AdventureWorksDW'.  0 0
Error 3 Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while the dimension, with the ID of 'Customer', Name of 'Customer' was being processed.  0 0
Error 4 Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while the 'Customer Alternate Key' attribute of the 'Customer' dimension from the 'Analysis Services Tutorial' database was being processed.  0 0

Sorry hit the wrong button there. That is not entire solution and setting it to default would work when using a single box and not in a distributed application solution. If you are creating the analysis database manually or using the wizard then you can
set the impersonation to your heart content as long as the right permission has been set on the analysis server.
In my case I was using MS Project Server 2010 to create the database in the OLAP configuration section. The situation is that the underlying build script has been configured to use the default setting which is the SQL Service account and this account does
not have permission in Project Server I believe.
Changing the account to match the Project service account allowed for a successful build \ creation of the database. My verdict is that this is a bug in Project Server because it needs to include the option to choose impersonation when creating the Database
this way it will not use the default which led to my error in the first place. I do not think there is a one fix for all in relations to this problem it is an environment by environment issue and should be resolved as such. But the idea around fixing it is
if you are using the SQL Analysis server service account as the account creating the database and cubes then default or service account is fine. If you are using a custom account then set that custom account in the impersonation details after you have granted
it SQL analysis administrator role. You can remove that role after the DB is created and harden it by creating a role with administrative permissions.

    Hi All,
I have a cube in which i'm using the TIME DIM that i created in the warehouse. But now i wanted a new measure in the cube which is Average over time and when i wanted to created the new measure i got a message that no time dim was defined, so i created a
new time dimension in the SSAS using wizard. But when i tried to process the new time dimension i'm getting the follwoing error message
"Errors in the high-level relational engine. The data source view does not contain a definition for "SSASTIMEDIM" the table or view. The Source property may not have been set."
Can anyone please tell me why i cannot create a new measure average over the time using my time dimension? Also what am i doing wrong with the SSASTIMEDIM, that i'm getting the error.
    Thanks

    Hi PMunshi,
According to your description, you get the above error when processing the time dimension. Right?
In this scenario, since you have updated the DSV, it should have no problem on the table existence. One possibility is that table has been specified for tracking in the notifications for proactive caching, but isn't available any more for some
reason. Please change the setting in Proactive Caching into "MOLAP".

    Hi,
Could you access the answer side.
    Could you see the reports.
Do one thing, take a back up of NQS config file from <Oracle Location>\instance\instance1\config\obiserver folder\nqsconfig.ini file.
Copy nqs config file if you have already have a back up.
Restart the services and try once.
