OBIEE 11g - 100% width

Hi all,
In OBIEE 10g it was possible to use the very neat 100% width on e.g. tables/pivots, but in OBIEE 11g it seems like this function is not working anymore. Which is very bad for the graphical user interface. It just looks a lot better when the tables are filling up the screen when using the 100% width option. (Which you set in the Formatting area of the table/pivot).
Is his something Oracle has "forgot" to bring further from 10g to 11g or am I missing out something here??
Another thing which also is really annoying is that it's not possible to open the log (the SQL Query log!!) in a new window. I use this a lot when building the BI Server, to make sure the BI server is acting as I want. Any workarounds here?
Any help appreciated.

I'm getting the Invalid Number Format when the Indent (Left Padding) on the Style is populated with something like 10px. When a left padding value is set, I cannot set a numeric format for this column.
If I remove the 10px left padding, go back to the Data Format tab, set a format and click OK, it keeps the new format as well as the 10px that I removed. But you have to remove the 10px every time you want to change the data format.
1. Open Column Properties
2. Kill the 10px
3. Change the data format
4. Click OK. The 10px padding is still observed in the results, and is still present if you come back in to Column Properties.
To change the data format again, I have to repeat all 4 steps.
I just tested all six fields in the Additional Formatting Options section. They all cause this same behavior. So the problem isn't the use of 100% in the width field. The problem is the use of any value in any field in the Additional Formatting Options section. Bug. I've reported it.

In OBIEE 11g I want the text filed width should be fixed as 30 character, at the same time if the width beyond 30 characters it should not be wrapped.
To achieve this we went to column properties and removed the wrap check box and in Additional Formatting Options section we set the width size as 30. But still if the text size is beyond 30 getting wrapped

How to set width of a prompt in OBIEE 11g?

Hi,
We have recently upgraded to OBIEE 11G.
In 10g all our prompts were fine. After upgrade, the prompts look distracted. All the prompts are Choice Lists.
The width of the prompts is varying depending on the width of the values that are coming from the DB.
Our requirement demands fixed width for the prompts. Is there any way to do it!!

Hi ,
Create your own bar code type rather than using system Bar Codes , if the length of your code doesn't fit with the standards available under SE73 . There you can define your own sizes as per your requirement , If you have a stands logic ,for example production order type Z001 should be in 15 lengthy code , then put a condition in the smart form to facilitate it , like wise you could use different lengthy bar codes in single form .

OBIEE 11G PDF reports not aligned

Hi,
When exporting a detail report from OBIEE 11G dashboard to PDF the alignment of the reports gets altered. Is there a way to control it? The Excel output seems to be OK, but the same report when exported to PDF gets misaligned. I do not have Adobe writer, only reader installed.
Please help. Thanks for your time and help.

Do this:
1) In the Section properties of your pivot tables, (the finger that is in the big gray area of the pivot table), click on the finger, then "Additional Formatting options," and make the width 100%.
2) In the same way, for Tables, click on Table properties, "Additional Formatting Options," and make the width 100%.
This will make sure that everything aligns to the same width.

OBIEE 11g Title view Image position

Hi All,
Is there any way to change the position of image in title view in OBIEE 11g.By, default the image is coming on the left side..In my report i wanna display on the right side..

In order to achieve this, you will need a custom skin (you can modify the original file, but I would not suggest to do this!).
The controlling file for the GUI rendering with regards to the title view is in the msgdb. It's the /messages/standardviewtemplates.xml. Again: please follow the process to create a custom skin and put the modified standardviewtemplates.xml there.

Basically you switch around the order of Logo -> Title -> Help to Title -> Help -> Logo. This way you know what happens in the doce above and make it Title -> Logo -> Help if you want.
These changes are application-wide wherever the custom skin is used (or just applciation-wide full stop if you modify the original file).

What is meant by REPORT_AGGREGATE funtion ?
in my Project i am building reports by using Combine similar Request functionality..
actually the same report is working fine under OBIEE 10g Environment, but when i migrated this it into OBIEE 11g its rasing the above error ?
Help me out in this ..?

Here is fix for Bug.
Patch Number: 12926133 for Windows 64 bit.
"Even though the readme does not show it the fix for bug 12926133 includes the fix to bug 12391045."
We tested and its works 100% for us.

OBIEE 11g Report-When drilling down to lower level, totals are not matching

Hi All,
I am creating a report in Analytics 7.9.6.3 , OBIEE 11g - Let’s say Budget Cost/Actual Cost based on the Date Dimension
Have selected the Fiscal Year Dim, Fact Budget Cost, Fact Actual Cost
FY BCost ACost
2011 100 120
2012 150 140
Total 250 260
But here when I am drilling down from Year to Quarter and Period - The values are not matching with the totals....

2011 2011 Q1 80 100
2011 Q2 100 90
2011 Q3 110 120
2011 Q4 90 130
Total 380 440
Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter Budget Cost and Actual Cost are not returning correct results – When selecting cost's by fiscal year, or filtering on a specific fiscal year, the amount returned does not equal the fiscal year total;
when I am drilling down to Quarter and Period Level the BCost & ACosts are bumping the Numbers as above and not matching with totals
Any suggestions?

Check out the query in both the times.Execute against database and try to sum the data for quarter/period and compare it with Year data.
Just try to differentiate is it a report total that is getting wrong or the data in the database table itself is getting wrong stored.

i have given the credentials as

data source name: orcl

i have popped up with a message connection has failed
my doubt
1) is that we have to deploy sampleapp_10722 by following the oracle source docs from below

but this deployment document is for 11.1.1.5.0 can we use this for 11.1.1.6.0

Follow the steps:
1)Create a Pivot view

2) Click on selection steps:
Under the product column click on Then, New Step... ->      Add Groups or Calculated Items -> New Calculated Item
or (else u can select this option New Calculated Item from result pane besides New View)
Display Label Name: a-b
Values From: Product
Function: Custom
Here u should select and write condition like
Product a - Product b
Click ok, then save....
See the result......

In OBIEE 11G, how to send automatically one email for different level users for having a look different data by agent?
For example:
One report architeture:
Region--------District---------Sales
Region 1------District1--------100

One Level can have a look at data:

Region 1-------------300
Region 2------------ 700
Another Level can have a look at data:

Configure Smartview in OBIEE 11G error

I am trying to integrate smartview with OBIEE 11G, I followed this blog on how to do it:

I am running into an issue and maybe you guys can help me understand how to solve it.
I have downloaded the smartview and I am in the process of creating my private connection..
Now from my laptop, I am able to access my OBIEE with this link:
http://100.20.000.000:9704/analytics/
In the private connection setting, when I entered this url and give username and password, then say 'connect', i am getting an error message simply 'Logon error!' and nothing else to it..
Have you seen this behavior before?
Please let me know what I should do about it

LDAP configuration error for SampleLiteApp in OBIEE 11g

I am trying to configure the LDAP for "SampleAppLite" application which comes with OBIEE 11g default installation in OBIEE11g. I followed the following steps in the oracle document,

Check default authenticator and ensure that control flag is NOT set to REQUIRED

BI Server not starting in OBIEE 11g

While starting the BI server from Enterprise Manager in OBIEE 11g I am facing this issue.
the details in the error log says.
[2010-09-15T05:45:58.000+00:00] [OracleBIServerComponent] [ERROR:1] [] [] [ecid: 00hvhkOQB^r0Vsk_Kxx0ie0001F^000000] [tid: 14d8] [43065] The connection with Cluster Controller SJRH-011:9706 was lost.
Could you please let me know how to solve this issue. Also the other components are also not starting.
Any pointers would be useful .

go to <middleware>/instance/../bin folder in the command prompt and try
opmnctl statusProcesses in Instance: instance1

see whether the cluster control is alive.. if the status is other than Alive.. try to restart the BI cluster controls from http://localhost:7001/em/
check the status, then start the BI presentation servers...
hopefully this should start the servers to 100%
