Object made by 6 java files

To create a fan object. Which file would become the user interface/ menu? What would the colour.java file contain, if colour is given a value in another class?
The list of files will include:
Fan.java
Colour.java
FanSpeed.java
AirSpeed.java
HeadMovement.java
UserReply.java
 Each file is holding a header inside it with your username and an advice of the class name.
Assignment task
1. Create instances of Colour, FanSpeed, AirSpeed, HeadMovement and UserReply
2. A user can select one of three fan speeds apart from 0 that means the fan is off. The first one is to produce a low airspeed; the second will produce a medium airspeed while the third will produce fast airspeed.
3. The class Fan is to assign a default value to the above variables:
Colour = "White";
FanSpeed = 1;
AirSpeed = "Low";
HeadMovement = "Y";
4. Class UserReply will provide the Fan class with either a character Y/N as answer of Yes/No for a head movement or with an integer for different fan speeds.
5. AirSpeed class will return one of three possible airspeeds; Low for fan speed 1, Medium for fan speed 2 and Fast for fan speed 3.
6. If the user wanted to stop the fan head movement then the HeadMovement class will return Fan Head is stopped moving otherwise it will return Fan Head is rotating
7. If the user input number 0 as FanSpeed, then display a message The fan is switched off. If the selected number is more than 3 or a character was used rather than a number then the message Please select between 0 and 3 will be displayed.
8. On user selection of fan speed and head movement, display the Colour, Fan Speed, Air Speed and whether the Fan Head is moving or not.

None Of These!
These are the classes your teacher wants you to write.
None are to do with user interface.
You might want to create something like:
public class FanDemo
  // Build a user interface
  // Instantiate All the classes the teacher asked for
// Allow the user to set the Fan speed using...

  • Importing java files

    Hey all,
    I created two seperate objects in two seperate java files. Now I want to "#include" them into a third java object. How is this done in java?
    Thanks,
    Wali

    If they're in the same package, nothing. If they're in different packages, use the import statement; e.g.: import path.to.yourpackage.*;

  • View Object to read data from a java file

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and ADF-BC in my application.
    For one of my view objects , I want the data to be read from a java file which exposes some method to return a collection.
    I cannot use a static view object in this case.
    Please suggest the best way to implement this requirement.Basically build a view object that should read data from a java file.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

    Depending on your use case you can either use a programmatic VO or directly expose the JV class as a data control.

  • Access jsp's application object from an .java file?

    Hi,
    I hava a .jsp page and an import statement to a .java file. How can I access the application object in this .java file?
    I want to make an initialization function that I want to be called in every .jsp of the WEB application and to store this function in a .java file.

    The only way to get a hold of the application object would be to pass it to java code as a parameter to a method.
    ie public class Util{
    public void initialiseJSPPage(ServletContext application){
      // do stuff in ServletContext
    }and then in the JSP call it via
    <% Util.initialiseJSPPage(application); %>
    You could manually include this code on every JSP.
    A better alternative is that in web.xml you can configure an automatic include (See JSP.3.3.5)
    What is it you are trying to accomplish by doing this?
    Would a Filter be a more appropriate tool in this case? That would let you run java code before selected requests are handled.

  • Does Java have an object model for the actual .java files?

    OK, you know how you can use the Document Object Model (DOM) in JavaScript or PHP to access and modify specific parts of an HTML document? Is there anything similar for .java files? Can I load a .java file into some kind of Java Code Object Model (JCOM?) and then manipulate that code as if it were an object.
    Note: I am not asking how to instantiate and use a regular object as defined by the .java file. I am wondering about modifying the actual .java file itself as an object that represents the actual text of the code in the .java file.

    GrantSR wrote:
    Not the code, per se, but the classes they define... Yessum, most certainly: ASM, among others.
    Also Google [java parser|http://www.google.com.au/search?q=java+parser]... one of them might do what you're after.
    So, one would parse the Java code into XML using one of these many and
    varied parsers, then access that XML via the DOM? Well, I guess a two
    step process is good enough.
    Thanks for your help.
    No wuckers!
    But I don't know if I did much. If you do get something working please post back, and outline your approach.
    Cheers. Keith.

  • .java files located in different directories - trouble compiling

    My attempts at getting my main .class file (../master/BicycleMaster.class) to automatically recognize that it's supporting .class file (../master/child/BicycleChild.class) located one directory below keep failing and the .java files won't compile.
    If I move both .java files to the same location (in the ../master directory) then they compile and run just fine, but it's when I want to separate them into the two different directories that I have a problem compiling them. They won't compile because the references in BicycleMaster.jave to BicycleChild.java can't be resolved.
    I was hoping - if you have time - that you might be able to show me by example in the code below? In the file ../master/BicycleMaster.java I added 'package master;' as the first line of the code. It was my impression that this would tell the compiler to look in the sub-directories for any additional .java files. This didn't work either.

  • AM Client java file question.

    Hello,
    I am learning OAF, when configured an AM to expose methods by Client Interface, a java file is created under /client, a reference is also made in the AM.xml:
      ComponentClass="...server.PeRatingAMImpl"
       ComponentInterface="...server.common.PeRatingAM"
       ClientProxyName="...server.client.PeRatingAMClient"The questions:
    1. Do I have any use for ClientProxyName java file or it is there to serve as adapter/glue code between my interface (AM.java and AMImpl.java?
    (Depends on answer to Q1)
    2. I'm suppose to use in my controller the AM.java, or the generated AMClient?
    Thanks in advance.

    What you will do in your controller is get a reference to the AM via the pageContext object.
    Like this:
    OAApplicationModule am=(OAApplicationModule)pageContext.getRootApplicationModule();
    Use the am ref to call methods in the am.

  • Problem - Scanner.java file not found

    Hello all, I've been having a problem with a Java installation on windows vista. I've installed both the Java 2 1.4.2_16 sdk, and the Java EE 5 update 3 sdk. However, neither install contains the Scanner.java file... On my desktop running XP, this is not the case. I've tried reinstalling but to no avail. My classpath is set correctly because my programs compile that import java.util.*; But when I create a scanner object I get the dreaded can't resolve symbol error, but only when I compile under vista... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

    Scanner was implemented beginning with v1.5x, and comes in the JDK SE, not the EE.

  • Using java class and variables declared in java file in jsp

    hi everyone
    i m trying to seperate business logic form web layer. i don't know i am doing in a right way or not.
    i wanted to access my own java class and its variables in jsp.
    for this i created java file like this
    package ris;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class  NewClass{
        public static void main(String args[]){
            Connection con = null;
            ResultSet rs=null;
            Statement smt=null;
            try{
                Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
                con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql:///net","root", "anthony111");
                smt=con.createStatement();
               rs= smt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM emp");
               while(rs.next()){
                String  str = rs.getString("Name");
                }catch( Exception e){
                    String msg="Exception:"+e.getMessage();
                }finally {
          try {
            if(con != null)
              con.close();
          } catch(SQLException e) {}
    }next i created a jsp where i want to access String str defined in java class above.

    but it gives error cannot find symbol str.
    please help me to find right way to do this.
    i am using netbeans ide.

    Very bad approach
    1) Think if your table contains more than one NAMEs then you will get only the last one with your code.
    2) Your String is declared as local variable in the method.
    3) You have not created any object of NewClass nor called the method in JSP page. Then who will call the method to run sql?
    4) Your NewClass contains main method which will not work in web application, it's not standalone desktop application so remove main.
    Better create an ArrayList and then call the method of NewClass and then store the data into ArrayList and return the ArrayList.
    It should look like
    {code:java}
    package ris;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class  NewClass{
        public static ArrayList getNames(){
            Connection con = null;
            ResultSet rs=null;
            Statement smt=null;
            ArrayList nameList = new ArrayList();
            try{
                Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
                con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql:///net","root", "anthony111");
                smt=con.createStatement();
               rs= smt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM emp");
               while(rs.next()){
                nameList.add(rs.getString("Name"));
               return nameList;
                }catch( Exception e){
                    String msg="Exception:"+e.getMessage();
                   </code><code class="jive-code jive-java"><font>return nameList;</code><code class="jive-code jive-java">
                }finally {
          try {
            if(con != null)
              con.close();
          } catch(SQLException e) {}
          </code><code>return nameList;</code>
    <code class="jive-code jive-java">    }

  • How can I use the same object in the different jsp files?

    I am doing a project. I have finished my jave source files and compiled them successfully. And I also wrote a main method to test my classes, they also worked well. Now I am trying to use my jave code in the jsp files. But I meet a problem, in my method of java source file, I can generate a object of a class, and use it in the whole main method. But in the different jsp files, how can I do same thing?
    For example, in the .java file,
    Vector vl = new Vector();
    While ...{
    vl.add(...)
    In each of my .jsp file I want to do one loop of the above, meanwhile I want to do that in the same object.
    I hope you can understand what I mean. Really need your help!

    put your object into a session and you can the use it in all the jsps as long as the session is valid. Or you could create a static variable in the class that only creates one instance off an object and then create a static method to return this object.

    Hi,
    You need to add librabry for j2ee-1.4.jar in your classpath this can be found under JSP Runtime library in your jdevhome\jdevbin folder.

    But I'm compiling within "Borland JBuilder 9.0". I've
    set the JDK path of the current project to point to
    the path of JDK 1.5.0 . I've also tried to compile at
    command prompt with "javac". I'm getting the same
    error of "Undefinedclassloader" with long StatckTrace.
    I don't know anything about JBuilder either. If you use the command prompt and enter the full path to the 1.5 javac.exe then that will prove whether the issue is using an older javac or not. For example "c:\j2sdk1.5.0_01\bin\javac HelloWorld.java"

  • Compiling / Running a Java file in JSP

    Hi,
    ok, I have a jsp page, which we will call page 1. Once I go to that page, I all I want it to do is compile a certain file.java, and then run the file.java. The user doesn't actually know that this is going on in the background. Page 1 automatically redirects the user to page 2 (also a jsp page).
    The java program that I created (that was previously compiled and ran) creates a special javascript file. After running the file.java in page #1, the java file creates a javascript file that will be used in page 2 to display a tree node (group of information).
    so, right now, I'm trying to figure out how to write the jsp code that will tell how to compile and run a java file. I was thinking about using javabeans before, but I think you HAVE to actually display the contents of the java file into the jsp (I think). Anyhow, thanks for the help!

    sorry about being ambiguous before. What I mean by
    running a java file was that I already created a java
    file. I don't want to hava my java statements inside
    the jsp file. I just want the jsp file have a command
    in it that would call a java file, tell the java file
    to compile and run. All the jsp file would do
    (hopefully) is just give commands for a seperate java
    file to compile and run. Thanks again for any help!Ok, so this other java file has some entry-point method, like main(), right? So call it...
    <%
    YourJavaClass.main(appropriateArgumentsGoHere);
    %>
    or better yet, it's an object you can use:
    <%
    YourJavaClass x = new YourJavaClass();
    x.callSomeMethodHere(withAppropriateArgumentsHere);
    x.callAnotherMethodMaybe();
    %>
    You don't need the jsp file to "compile" this java file, you'd already have compiled it beforehand, and it's class bytecode needs to be in your classpath (on the server side) of course.
