Object Searching...

I need to be able to have one Object(Object A) use another object (Object B) somewhere in my program. However, there is no information about Object B stored anywhere within Object A. The only definite thing is that there is an Object A and an Object B in my program. There is only one Object B, but it could be in any of my programs objects.
I'll place some code to make it simpler
class program {
    public static void main(){
        Object_A OBA = new Object_A();
        Object_B OBB = new Object_B();
        OBA.alter();
class Object_A {
    //changes object B's value
    private int ObjectBsValue;
    public Object_B() {}
    public void alter(int num) {
        //Here is where my problem is:  Object B could appear anywhere
        //in my program, so I can't rely on it being anywhere
        [wherever OBB is].myValue++;
        ObjectBsValue=[wherever OBB is].myValue;
class Object_B {
    public int myValue;
    public Object_B() {}
}I'm guessing there is a way to search for objects, but I don't know where to look for information.
I'd like a solution to my problem, or an explanation why it can't be done. If not that, then a pointer in the right direction.

Sorry, I was a little inaccurate when I was describing the problem. When I was looking at the documentation you referred to, i realized that I could take advantage of my program's heierarchy to find the object in question. I'm pretty sure I would have figured out how wo use observers and watchers if the solution my problem hadn't become apparent while reading...
I'll award you the Duke Dollars because my problem was solved while I was reading something you talked about.

  • Export Custom Object search results

    I've selected my search criteria in one of my customer objects. The result is a set of records containing specific data items that I need. This data is not available in the contact record. I need to export just this set of records and not my entire Customer Object universe. Is that functionality available? Any help is appreciated.

    Method 1:
    Custom object > Reporting (drop-down from the top-right) > Custom Object Record Field Values (or percentages)
    Select your field, click "Select"
    Click into any field values that interest you
    Observe an exportable list of records
    (Limitation = cannot use wildcards)
    Method 2:
    Insight. This requires the analyzer license. Custom Object Record values are not subject to the normal 24 hour delay that almost all other data is. At most there is a ~30 second delay between CDOs and Insight.
    Ensure that the Custom Object Record and the fields from it you want are available in Insight. You want to include your unique field because the values are deduplicated in Insight otherwise. Build a report that includes the unique field and the field your value of interest is in. Filter on the column of interest and run the report. Export as desired.
    Method 3:
    API. From any open Eloqua window where you've already logged in, go to this URL: https://secure.eloqua.com/api/docs/dynamic/rest/1.0/reference.aspx
    (This is not for the tame and feint of heart.)

  • Multi-Instance Object Searches

    I want to use OEM 10g - and the table of Preferred Credentials - to be able to search ALL monitored database instances for either all occurences of a particular object type (such as finding all database links) or all objects with a particular name (such as trying to id all instances where a custom package was installed). I have 75 instances to look thru (just in Production) and this would be most helpful
    Can anyone recommend a solution along with steps ?
    Alan

    You can execute sql across multiple databases and view their results>
    select one database>
    Maintenance>
    Execute SQL
    Use the Add button to add additional databases to execute on. Check the keep the execution history for this command.
    Have fun!

    A SQL Profile was run beginning at 12/18/2014 11:11.
    A SQL exception can be found at 11:20:03 with the error:
                   The database principal owns a database role and cannot be dropped.
    The issue has to do with the SQL statement just prior to the exception:
    declare @p4 int
    set @p4=NULL
    declare @p5 int
    set @p5=NULL
    exec sp_executesql N'declare @db_user_name sysname
    select @db_user_name = name from dbo.sysusers where sid = SUSER_SID(@user_name) and hasdbaccess = 1
    if (@db_user_name is null)

    select @p4, @p5
    I highlighted the row in red causing the issue. For some reason SharePoint during the Search Restore process try’s to delete the user “------\sp2013uatfarmacct” from the database Search_Service_Application_DB_60bb9889222841aa94f59aed71349a6b
    And re-add them again.  But the reason for the failure is because the user “------\sp2013uatfarmacct” is the owner of the database role “SPSearchDBAdmin”, so it cant.
    I checked all other Service databases that contain the role SPSearchDBAdmin and they all correctly have the owner as dbo
    NOT ------\sp2013uatfarmacct.
    Further checking the SQL trace log a SQL batch is executed at 12/18/2014 11:19:59.790 that states the following:
    -- Drop existing role members
    IF  EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.database_principals WHERE name = N'SPSearchDBAdmin' AND type = 'R')
    Begin
        DECLARE @RoleMemberName sysname

        FROM sys.database_principals
        WHERE

                from sys.database_role_members
                where role_principal_id in (
                select principal_id
                FROM sys.database_principals where [name] = N'SPSearchDBAdmin'  AND type = 'R' ))
        OPEN Member_Cursor;
        FETCH NEXT FROM Member_Cursor

        WHILE @@FETCH_STATUS = 0

            FETCH NEXT FROM Member_Cursor
            into @RoleMemberName
        END;
        CLOSE Member_Cursor;
        DEALLOCATE Member_Cursor;
    End
    -- Drop/Create role
    IF  EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.database_principals WHERE name = N'SPSearchDBAdmin' AND type = 'R')
    DROP ROLE [SPSearchDBAdmin]
    CREATE ROLE [SPSearchDBAdmin]
    I highlighted the statement in red that is eventually causing the SP restore to fail. For some unknown reason to me when this statement is executed the new ROLE SPSearchDBAdmin owner is -----\sp2013uatfarmacct
    instead of dbo.
    As a test I executed via SQL Management Studio “CREATE ROLE [SPSearchDBAdmin]” and it correctly created the owner as dbo.
    So the problem and my question is why when the SP Search Service is restored is the ROLE SPSearchDBAdmin owner being set to “-----\ sp2013uatfarmacct”, which in turn seems to be causing the restore failure?

    Hi!
    I believe it is trying to delete a user who owns the schema of the database. You can try changing the schema owner to some other user like "dbo", and then drop the first user.
    Below are a few links that can help you with much more details.

  • New objects not visible in report objectpicker

    Hi, I'm new to SCOM so please forgive me if I say something wrong.
    We are using SCOM 2007 R2.
    In Operations Console I've created 2 new Web Applications in Authoring view.
    In Reporting view I open  Availability report from Microsoft Generic Report Library
    Click Add Object
    Search for Web Application I've created and get nothing
    For some reason I see only old objects when search or view all available in report. I tried to use old Management Package and created my own (I thought the problem was in sealed MP, but my new is unsealed). Found similar problem in "Missing Objects
    in Report Objectpicke" question,  but we have less than 100 monitoring agents.
    So I have no idea why objects are not visible, could you please help?

    Verify from Group {contain all computers that you want} that using in Reporting.

  • Retrieving the Full Path of the Document / Folder in Search results

    Hello,
    We have a custom portlet to perform search in knowledge directory. We are able to retrieve the results from knowledge directory and would like to know on one enhancement feature.
    Would like to know if it is possible to retrieve the directory structure / path of the document / folder. Something like "\Knowledge Directory\Customer Service\...." I have seen this path come up in search results when using Portal Admin. Not sure if it is available when using the idk.dll
    Below is a sample code in C#. Would you know if there is a way I can retrieve the directory strcuture. If so, what method would give me that value? I tried GetURL, but that gives me the URL of the document http://portal/.....as compared to the path.
    =====
    using Plumtree.Remote.Portlet;
    using Plumtree.Remote.PRC;
    using Plumtree.Remote.PRC.Search;
    //Establishing Session with Portal
    IRemoteSession session = RemoteSessionFactory.GetExplicitLoginContext(new Uri(portletPortalAPIPref), username, password);
    ISearchFactory searchFactory = session.GetSearchFactory();
    searchRequest = searchFactory.CreatePortalSearchRequest();
    searchRequest.SetQuery(txtSearchText.Text);
                //Setting up the Search Parameters – Objects to Search, Order By, Number of Results
      ObjectClass[] objectTypes = { ObjectClass.Document, ObjectClass.DocumentFolder };
      searchRequest.SetObjectTypesToSearch(objectTypes);
       searchRequest.SetResultsOrderBy(PlumtreeField.NAME);
       searchRequest.SetOrderAscending(true);
      searchRequest.SetResultsCount(0, RecordCount);
    //Executing the Search
    searchResponse = searchRequest.Execute();
    resultSet = searchResponse.GetResultSet();
      //iterate through the results
    IEnumerator resultsfolder = resultSet.GetResults();
    while (resultsfolder.MoveNext())
                        IPortalSearchResult result = (IPortalSearchResult)resultsfolder.Current;
    Convert.ToString(result.GetRank() + 1);
    result.GetIconURL().ToString();
    result.GetURL().ToString();
    result.GetName().ToString();
    result.GetExcerpt().ToString();
    result.GetLastModified().ToString();
    result.GetClassID().ToString();
    result.GetObjectID().ToString();

    Have you tried getting the extended data and the Parent Folder ID. (Plumtree.Remote.PRC.IExtendedData)
    Using an additional object search to get the Path for the Parent Folder ID.
    Here is a snippet that may help
    Plumtree.Remote.PRC.IObjectManager objectManager = session.GetObjectManager(Plumtree.Remote.PRC.ObjectClass.<your class to return>);
    Plumtree.Remote.PRC.IObjectQueryRow qResults = objectManager.QuerySingleObject(<id of object to return>);
    if (qResults != null)
        Plumtree.Remote.PRC.IExtendedData ied = qResults.GetExtendedData();
        if (ied != null)
           sResult =  ied.GetStringValue(<property you want to return>);

  • How to search with multiple constraints in the new java API?

    I'm having a problem using the new MDM API to do searches with multiple constraints.  Here are the classes I'm trying to use, and the scenario I'm trying to implement:
    Classes:
    SearchItem: Interface
    SearchGroup: implements SearchItem, empty constructor,
                 addSearchItem (requires SearchDimension and SearchConstraint, or just a SearchItem),
                 setComparisonOperator
    SearchParameter: implements SearchItem, constructor requires SearchDimension and SearchConstraint objects
    Search: extends SearchGroup, constructor requires TableId object
    RetrieveLimitedRecordsCommand: setSearch method requires Search object
    FieldDimension: constructor requires FieldId object or FieldIds[] fieldPath
    TextSearchConstraint: constructor requires string value and int comparisonOperator(enum)
    BooleanSearchConstraint: constructor requires boolean value
    Scenario:
    Okay, so say we have a main table, Products.  We want to search the table for the following:
    field IsActive = true
    field ProductColor = red or blue or green
    So the question is how to build this search with the above classes?  Everything I've tried so far results in the following error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Search group nesting is currently not supported.
         at com.sap.mdm.search.SearchGroup.addSearchItem(Unknown Source)
    I can do just the ProductColor search like this:
    Search mySearch = new Search(<Products TableId>);
    mySearch.setComparisonOperator(Search.OR_OPERATOR);
    FieldDimension myColorFieldDim = new FieldDimension(<ProductColor FieldId>);
    TextSearchConstraint myTextConRed = new TextSearchConstraint("red",TextSearchConstraint.EQUALS);
    TextSearchConstraint myTextConBlue = new TextSearchConstraint("blue",TextSearchConstraint.EQUALS);
    TextSearchConstraint myTextConGreen = new TextSearchConstraint("green",TextSearchConstraint.EQUALS);
    mySearch.addSearchItem(myColorFieldDim,myTextConRed);
    mySearch.addSearchItem(myColorFieldDim,myTextConBlue);
    mySearch.addSearchItem(myColorFieldDim,myTextConGreen);
    the question is how do I add the AND of the BooleanSearchConstraint?
    FieldDimension myActiveFieldDim = new FieldDimension(<IsActive FieldId>);
    BooleanSearchConstraint myBoolCon = new BooleanSearchConstraint(true);
    I can't just add it to mySearch because mySearch is using OR operator, so it would return ALL of the Products records that match IsActive = true.  I tried creating a higher level Search object like this:
    Search topSearch = new Search(<Products TableId>);
    topSearch.setComparisonOperator(Search.AND_OPERATOR);
    topSearch.addSearchItem(mySearch);
    topSearch.addSearchItem(myActiveFieldDim,myBoolCon);
    But when I do this I get the above "Search group nesting is currently not supported" error.  Does that mean this kind of search cannot be done with the new MDM API?

    I'm actually testing a pre-release of SP05 right now, and it still is not functional.  The best that can be done is to use a PickListSearchConstraint to act as an OR within a field.  But PickList is limited to lookup Id values, text attribute values, numeric attribute values and coupled attribute values.  It works for me in some cases where I have lookup Id values, but not in other cases where the users want to search on multiple text values within a single field.

  • Problem with deleting object in LDAP server

    Hi,
    I am writing a Java Ldap client which performs object search/deletion/addition/modification.
    Now I can search the object via DN using the client program.
    When I try to delete, the program goes through without any exception. But the object
    still exists in the Ldap server.
    Did I miss anything in my program?
    BTW, I can use the same uid/passwd to delete the user from the Netscape Ldap console.
    But not from the client program.
    Here is the short program:
    try {
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ldap://localhost:389");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION, "simple");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "uid=sysadmin, ou=Directory Administrators,

    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "sysadmin");
    DirContext ctx = new InitialDirContext(env);
    ctx.destroySubcontext("userId=steve, groupId=client, o=abc.com");
    System.out.println("Deletion successful");
    } catch (Exception e) {

    hi
    how to find the search help for the parameters stmt in a report , that is using which addition to the parameters statement

    I am not sure if I understood the question,but if you meant how to attach a search help to parameter for which a default search help is not available,you can do that by using addition  "Matchcode Object"
    Parameter: a type i matchcode object 'Search Help Name'
    Search Help name should be in single quotes.

  • Best way to implement dynamic search criteria

    I was recently showing a group of developers some of the Toplink basics. As an example I showed a way to build a Toplink expression for an object search where the search criteria are determined at runtime. Doing this in raw SQL is a bit tricky because you need to place the 'AND' statements between the criteria, but I found a simple method to do this with an expression (or at least I think I did). I simply used and() to add each criteria expression, including the first one. Toplink seemed smart enough to derive the SQL without the additional AND statement.
    My question to the Forum is, is this the best way to build the expression and is it flawed? Here is my code snippet and the generated SQL.
    public Expression createExpression(ExpressionBuilder builder, Object[] parameters) {
    // Build expression for a Dealer Search
    String name = (String)parameters[0];
    String location = (String)parameters[1];
    String email = (String)parameters[2];
    Expression searchExpression = builder;
    // NAME = 'name'
    if (name != null) {
    searchExpression =
    searchExpression.and(builder.get("name").equal(name));
    // LOCATION = 'location'
    if (location != null) {
    searchExpression =
    searchExpression.and(builder.get("location").equal(location));
    // EMAIL = 'email
    if (email != null) {
    searchExpression =
    searchExpression.and(builder.get("contactInfo").get("email").equal(email));
    return searchExpression;
    Toplink generated SQL with location="Mt. Prospect, IL", email=null, and name=null:
    SELECT VERSION, LOCATION, ID, NAME FROM DEALER WHERE (LOCATION = 'Mt. Prospect, IL')
    Thanks.

    All JPA strategies require something (like a table or sequence object) be in the database, with table sequencing being the most portable, though EclipseLink does allow custom sequence stratgies where you could use something else, such as the UUID. Sequencing is described here described here http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/PrimaryKey with a custom UUID example shown here http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/CustomSequencing .

  • Custom search criteria in MSS Team Calendar

    My requirement is to add a custom entry (All Salaried/Exempt employees) in the Employee Selection (Display Data For) drop down in MSS Team Calendar.
    I have created a custom org structure view by copying the one for "All Employees" - MSS_LTV_EE_ALL
    Then, I have created a custom entry in V_TWPC_ORGVWGRP to include my new org structure view and I have configured the same in V_PTREQ_TEAM.
    I am able to see the new option in the team calendar - as desired.
    Now, I need to adjust my object selection in V_TWPC_OBJSEL (copied from MSS_LTV_EE_ALL) to search for only Salaried employees (based on Employee Subgroup - PERSK).
    Are there any standard Rules for object selection that I can refer to and possibly tweak as per my needs ?
    (or)
    Do I need to use a custom class for the object search ?
    I am not sure as to how to use the option Parameter Group here.
    Kindly suggest.
    Thank You,

    OADP you have to modify.
    You have to add it to view ie in V_TWPC_ORGVWG_P
