OBPM BPM Studio support for SOAP 1.2 based Proxy services (OSB)

Hi,
I tried to import proxy services from OSB (as external resource). The proxy service is based on the SOAP 1.2 WSDL standard. When BPM studio introspective SOAP1.2 based proxy services, it is givng the following warninigs. Bacause of this i am unable to create a service object. Please help.

• Looking for support for SOAP

I am looking for some support for SOAP. I was thinking of either three options.
1. A proper soap dish
2. An old saucer
3. Just leave it next to the basin.
Any other thoughts?
P.S. How many responses will it take before this thread is deleted? I say 6.

Fill the sink and leave the SOAP in it. Eventually it
will be encrypted.Right, thermodynamics in action.
There's no. 6

• Why Segment shrink is not supported for tables with function-based indexes

As we all know , Segment shrink is not supported for tables with function-based indexes.
But i'm very confused .
Why Segment shrink is not supported for tables with function-based indexes ?? what's its essential?

Creating a function based index creates a hidden virtual column (you'll see it if you query user_tab_cols) and once you index a virtual column you can no longer shrink the table:orcl> create table t1(c1 number,c2 as (c1 * 2)) segment creation immediate;
Table created.
orcl> alter table t1 enable row movement;
Table altered.
orcl>
orcl> alter table t1 shrink space;
Table altered.
orcl> create index i2 on t1(c2);
Index created.
orcl> alter table t1 shrink space;
alter table t1 shrink space
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-10631: SHRINK clause should not be specified for this object
orcl>so the issue is not with function based indexes per se, it is a level beneath that. Perhaps because the virtual column has no physical existance, when the row is moved there is no reason for Oracle to realize that an index needs updating? I haven't attempted to reverse engineer this, I would be interested to know if anyone else has.

Hi,
You can activate Time-Dependent Publishing Service on your XML form and once the Lifetime of Documents is over then the document is not visible to users.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c1/c87d3cf8ff3934e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
It is only invisible but not deleted!
So to delete all expired XML Forms you should run Scheduler Tasks for Time-Dependent Publishing:
TimeBasePublishingUnpublish
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/3a/bc37b5789dee4eaa8005bff84f14cf/frameset.htm
You can also create your own Scheduler Task which deletes/archieves all expired XML Forms.

• Does Flex Builder 3 have support for Soap 1.2?

Does Flex Builder 3 Data Services support Soap 1.2?
I'm using Flex Builder v3.0.205647. I'm trying to import a
Web Service (WSDL) through the Data Services...but I'm seeing that
Soap 1.2 is not supported (only Soap 1.1). Are there any plug-ins
and/or updates that would allow me to connect to a Soap 1.2
service? If not, is this planned for the future?

• SMP3.0 Kapsel support for SOAP and REST services(not ODATA) and Symbian platfrom

Dear Experts,
Can we develop apps using Kapsel on SOAP and REST services?
As phonegap supports Symbian platform, will Kapsel apps work on Symbian???
Regards
Srini
7730801444

I think you should reconsidering the Phonegap supports Symbian part.
As Phonegap is based upon Cordova, PG basically supports what Cordova supports. Cordova dropped Symbian a while ago. The latest release does not support Symbian: Apache Cordova
The Platform section does not mention Symbian, but does some "exotic" ones like WebOS, Tizen, FirefoxOS.
Same for PG: PhoneGap API Documentation -> no Symbian
Sure, PG 2.x listed Symbian, but 2.x is based on another architecture than PG 3 and Cordova 3. As Kapsel is a set of SAP plugins for Cordova 3, Kapsel needs Cordova 3.
As long as Symbian is not in the list of platform Cordova runs on, there won't be Kapsel for Symbian.

• Support for xs:date types in web services generated from EJB components

I need to generate a Web Service from an EJB session bean based upon EJB entities generated from the Oracle 11g database that contain DATE type columns.
JDeveloper creates java.sql.Timestamp types in the EJB Session bean and this results in an exception error when I try to generate a web service from this bean via webservice annotations:
java.security.PrivilegedActionException: com.sun.xml.bind.v2.runtime.IllegalAnnotationsException: 1 counts of IllegalAnnotationExceptions
java.sql.Timestamp does not have a no-arg default constructor
I expected the web service wizard to generate argument types xs:dateTime or xs:date so this was an unwelcomed surprise.
I tried manually adding a method to the session bean with java.util.date arguments and had no problems with the web service wizard that correctly created xs:dateTime arguments. Is there any particular reason why the EJB wizard does not generate java.util.date arguments or handle java.sql.Timestamp without failing with an exception?
Since I begin with database tables and generate EJB entity classes and then web services with the Jdeveloper wizards it seems to me that there is a problem here in JDeveloper. Would you agree?
There are several possible more or less appealing workarounds, such as doing manually adding methods to the EJB facade with java.util.date arguments and doing the conversion from/to java.sql.timestamp manually. Is this a reasonable approach or does JDeveloper support date/time for Date columns in some other way that I have missed?
Very Grateful for any comments or suggestions.

• Oracle (SQL) support for Temporal / time period based data

Beyond standard SQL (DATE type etc. and <,>, LEAST, GREATEST, etc.) does Oracle offer anything to help handle time period based data? E.g. overlapping periods, joins when gaps in time periods from 2+ tables, period contiguity checks, etc. I've developed various SQL query techniques, but they're all rather cumbersome using standard SQL.
Oracle Spatial offers geo-location support - is there anything similar for temporal query support?
Any good books / docs on the subject?

Check out Workspace manager for limited out of the box temporal support.
You may also want to have a read through this series of articles about temporal database systems. They aren't Oracle specific, but may help you with your temporal system design.

• Support for large blacklist in web proxy server

I am looking at a way of loading a very large blacklist file (1 million entries). Since Apache looks up each entry in the DNS when it loads, the built in server in Mac OS X Server 10.4 may not be the best option.
Any suggestions as to the best solution?

I guess I wondered how Apache handles that many entries. For a start, you can't load the blacklist into Apache using Workgroup Manger---it grinds for a few minutes then quits, having run out of memory (according to console). Then, when I edited the blacklist manually into the http.conf file and started Apache---nothing happened. At least, several minutes later, web services had still not started. At that point I left and went home. (And posted my query to Discussions). That was last night.
I have just confirmed that it still hasn't come back after running overnight, so I guess I answered that part of my own question. I was looking at squid myself. It's what used to run on this server, but when Apple enabled web proxying I dropped back to the pure Apple supported method. Now it looks as if I have to add squid back in, with the extra process that goes along with that.

• How to set SOAP Header When Calling Business Service (OSB) Using Split-Join

Hi,
We need to call WSDL based webservice which requires heading static content for successful call. As we need to call the same service parallely, hence we want to use Split-Join.
Looked at couple of forum links, noted that we can't play with headers while working with Split-Join.
For curiosity, just want to check any option other than using proxy as mediator in setting header information.
Regards
Venkata Madhu

Venkata,
You still have the option, if you hv n't tried this one.
To enable this capability, you must declare the header parts along with the body parts in a single request/response message in the Split-Join WSDL and in the WSDL of the proxy or business services invoked by the Split-Join. With the message parts declared in the WSDLs, SOAP header content is available to Split-Joins in the request/response message variables.
Following is an example of the message and binding definitions in the WSDL.
Message
<wsdl:message name="retrieveCustomerOverviewByIdRequestMessage">
<wsdl:part name="retrieveCustomerOverviewByIdRequest"
element="co:retrieveCustomerOverviewByIdRequest"/>
*<wsdl:part name="serviceContext" element="sc:serviceContext"/>*
</wsdl:message>
Binding
<wsdl:input>
<soap:body use="literal" parts="retrieveCustomerOverviewByIdRequest"/>
*<soap:header message="tns:retrieveCustomerOverviewByIdRequestMessage"part="serviceContext" use="literal"/>*
</wsdl:input>
hope it helps !!

• Support for Code Snippets in Visual Studio Lanuage Service

I need to add support for Code Snippets to my Lanuage Service(which I am writing using MPF). I am doing all according to this MSDN
article.
First I've added attribute to my package class, like:
[ProvideLanguageCodeExpansion(typeof(MyLanguageService), "My Language", 0, "My Language",
@"C:\My\SnippetsIndex.xml", // Path to snippets index
SearchPaths = @"C:\My\Snippets\")] // Path to snippets
SnippetsIndex.xml file content is following:

<SnippetCollection>

<SnippetDir>
<OnOff>On</OnOff>
<Installed>true</Installed>
<Locale>%LCID%</Locale>
<DirPath>C:\My\Snippets\</DirPath>
<LocalizedName>Snippets</LocalizedName>
</SnippetDir>

</SnippetCollection>
And in this folder there is one file with default snippet, like:

<CodeSnippets xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/2005/CodeSnippet">
<CodeSnippet Format="1.0.0">

<SnippetTypes>
<SnippetType>Expansion</SnippetType>
</SnippetTypes>

SnippetFile1

<HelpUrl>
</HelpUrl>
<Shortcut>
</Shortcut>

<Snippet>

TEST TEST

</Snippet>
</CodeSnippet>
</CodeSnippets>
I've added method for detecting installed snippets from this article to
LanguageService class:
private void _GetSnippets(Guid languageGuid,
ref ArrayList expansionsList)
IVsTextManager textManager = (IVsTextManager)Package.GetGlobalService(typeof(SVsTextManager));
if (textManager != null)
IVsTextManager2 textManager2 = (IVsTextManager2)textManager;
if (textManager2 != null)
IVsExpansionManager expansionManager = null;
textManager2.GetExpansionManager(out expansionManager);
if (expansionManager != null)
// Tell the environment to fetch all of our snippets.
IVsExpansionEnumeration expansionEnumerator = null;
expansionManager.EnumerateExpansions(languageGuid,
0, // return all info
null, // return all types
0, // return all types
1, // include snippets without types
0, // do not include duplicates
out expansionEnumerator);
if (expansionEnumerator != null)
// Cache our expansions in a VsExpansion array
uint count = 0;
uint fetched = 0;
VsExpansion expansionInfo = new VsExpansion();
IntPtr[] pExpansionInfo = new IntPtr[1];
// Allocate enough memory for one VSExpansion structure. This memory is filled in by the Next method.
pExpansionInfo[0] = Marshal.AllocCoTaskMem(Marshal.SizeOf(expansionInfo));
expansionEnumerator.GetCount(out count);
for (uint i = 0; i < count; i++)
expansionEnumerator.Next(1, pExpansionInfo, out fetched);
if (fetched > 0)
// Convert the returned blob of data into a structure that can be read in managed code.
expansionInfo = (VsExpansion)Marshal.PtrToStructure(pExpansionInfo[0], typeof(VsExpansion));
if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(expansionInfo.shortcut))
expansionsList.Add(expansionInfo);
Marshal.FreeCoTaskMem(pExpansionInfo[0]);
If I call this method from package initializing method I got count
== 0 in line
expansionEnumerator.GetCount(out count);
And if I call it from method ParseSource in LanguageService class
as MSDN recommends, I've just got expansionEnumerator
== null.
I've spent much time trying to understand whats going on, but still got this strange result. Could anybody tell me what am I doing wrong?

Your XML files look good. Maybe it is necessary to add a shortcut to the snippet.
In my ViewFilter, I also react on the VSStd2KCmdID.INSERTSNIPPET command in HandlePreExec():
case VSConstants.VSStd2KCmdID.INSERTSNIPPET:
ExpansionProvider ep = this.GetExpansionProvider();
if (ep != null) {
ep.DisplayExpansionBrowser(this.TextView, "Snippets", null, false, null, false);
return true;

• BPM Studio 11.1.1.5 Install Issues

Greetings,
I am trying to work with BPM Studio 11g but have been unsuccessful at getting the extensions installed correctly with JDeveloper 11g. I have a fresh installation of JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 and installed the BPM Studio extensions for JDeveloper via Help>Check for updates in JDeveloper. The download and installation process appeared to work fine however when I try to utilize the BPM functionality in most circumstances nothing happens or the options are not available. The BPM Analyst role is available via Tools>Preferences>Roles and the option to create a BPM Application/Project also seems to work, but not much else. I noticed a list of warnings in the JDeveloper 'extensions' log window that suggests the extensions weren't installed correctly. I've uninstalled JDev and installed 11.1.1.3 with BPM Studio extensions and I get the same issues. I'm not sure what to do at this point.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• Java API for SOAP Messages

Hi
I need Java library for dealing with SOAP messages (e.g., serializing, deserializing, etc.). I don't actually need a complete server, only a library.
Is SAAJ, http://java.sun.com/webservices/saaj/index.jsp, the right choice? Or JAXM, http://java.sun.com/xml/downloads/jaxm.html?
In particular the SAAJ page says "SAAJ 1.3 EA (with support for SOAP 1.2) is included in the open-source Java E 5-compliant application server at Project GlassFish. " Does this mean that it is obsolete, and that I should use GlassFish?
I'm actually a little bit confused by all these technologies...
thanks in advance

I was able to generate the WSDL using JDevelopers GUI tool for generating WSDL, but I notices that there was no transport layer, in thebinding that suppoerted SOAP, and the "create web service from WSDL" wizard also gave and error message:
oracle.jdeveloper.webservices.model.WebServiceException: The chosen WSDL contains no SOAP 1.1 bindings and is therefore unsuitable for generation of a JAX-RPC web service for WLS. Only SOAP 1.1 bindings are supported for generation of JAX-RPC web services for deployment to WLS.
This is the WSDL I created:

<definitions targetNamespace="http://www.example.org/addition"
xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"

Could someone please help me out? I've been struggling with this problem for two weeks and can't make any headway. It's really driving me nuts. I've looked all over the web, and while everyone agrees that SOAP over JMS is possible, no one sems to have a working solution. One example I was able to get hold of used ant for deployment, but the deploy task failed when I ran it. Please, please help me.

• Which service type to use for Proxy Service

I have a question regarding a Proxy service.
I have a need for a local (transport local) Proxy service which is called by another proxy service.
It is a synchronous service which has an XML incoming message and an XML outgoing message.
I have the following questions:
- Does it make a difference in performance when I choose a WSDL webservice or a Messaging service?
- Which one would you choose and why?
Thanx

Does it make a difference in performance when I choose a WSDL webservice or a Messaging service?Hardly there would be any difference.
Which one would you choose and why?I would choose XML type messaging type proxy because input and output are XML messages. I won't choose WSDL web-service because it should be used in case of SOAP packagaing only (in web-service context, to enable SOAP and WS support) to mock a web-service which has a WSDL (and a XSD) associated with it.
