Obtain report-suite ID from the SiteCatalyst Framework dynamically

Hi,
I have setup the Adobe SiteCatalyst Framework in CloudService Configurations of AEM.
The client's provided s_code.js expects an argument s_account and the value of s_account should be the report-suite-id to track the analytics data to.
So I am trying to get the value of report-suide-id from the SiteCatalyst Framework associated with the page.
Two approaches that strike me are:
Use the client-context API somehow to extract the report-suite-Id from framework. This seems more like the way to go but unable to figure out exactly how?
A crude approach could be to use the reference to the framework in page's content and extract the value of report-suite-id and assign the same value to s_account variable in client's s_code.js
Any pointers towards the recommended approach to achieve this would be handy.

There is a section specifically defined for this on every framework called General SyteCatalyst Settings.
which lets its users add custom tracking defined with javascript. Add your s_code.js there.

Report "General Ledger from the Document File" - Cumulative balance

Hi!
When I start the report "General Ledger from the Document File" (transaction S_ALR_87100205), I get a list of documents with no obvious default sort order criteria (I can see at glance that document numbers and posting dates are not sort criteria). This makes the cumulative balance column completely useles.
Since the cumulative balance is carried from one row to another, standard sorting functionality for the already produced list makes no sense.
There should be a way to affect the sort order in program before cumulative balance calculation, or at least to find it out.
Is there a way to acomplish this?

In the output control section there is a button called configure. Select a variant. Select configure. Save the sort order and report definition the way you want it. Name a new variant. Now go back and run the report with your variant.

How to check the report builder version from the rdf file

Hi,
I have a rdf file but I don't the developer using which version of report builder to develop the rdf file. So, does anyone knows how to check the rdf file is developed by which version of report builder?
When I try to use the notepad to open the rdf file, it shows the string "ROS.60050". So, does it means that the rdf file is developed by Oracle report 6i?
Besides, do anyone knows if Oracle report 6i are still offer from Oralce (as I know, the latest verison of oracle report is 11g). So, in case Oralce not offer oracle 6i and I need to buy oracle report 11g, do u know it is compatiable or I need to do the migration from 6i to 11g?

Hi,
The ROS version you are seeing in the RDF file does not mean the version where that RDF was developed. I am not aware of a way to check this but something that may help is that when you try to open a RDF developed in a higher version
of Reports with a lower version of Reports builder the following warning will be displayed
Warning. Opening a report saved with a newer version of Reports Builder.
Functionality may be lost. Continue?
"You tried to open a report with a version of Reports Builder older than the version used to
create the report. If the report uses functionality unavailable in the older version, that
functionality will be eliminated from the report.
Regarding Oracle Developer 6i. This version is not supported any more. Regarding how to upgrade Reports 6i to 11g and what to have in mind during the upgrade please review the following documentation.

Oracle E-Business Suite access from the Host machine

Hellow,
Please, after installing E-Business Suite and going through Post-configuration details, I would like to get access of my applications portal from the host system.
I have tried several ways of doing that and would not know the steps to follow in order to access the portal directly from the physical host machine.
I took the normal steps as when configuring end users and can ping the virtual machine from the Host system but can't do the same form the virtual machine of the host machine.
I can ping another server and other machines int he same network but not the one on which the virtual machine is installed.

call the machine which will access the application on virtual machine as CLIENT
call the machine which is hosting the virtual machine a VIRTUAL MACHINE HOST
call virtual machine as VIRTUAL MACHINE
You mean I should change my host IP? It has so many applications using that localhost name.Is ther any setting done in the network and have you ever accessed an application installed on Virtual machine from the host machine?>
changing of ip doesnt have any impact if ur applications are using hostname..if they are using ip then there is a issue,Yes i have acces EBIZ installed on virtula machine many times.
And if ur working in a organization then ask ur network admins to check whats the issue..may be some were firewall issue also ..thats why i asked u to chnage ip.

Alerts from the Adapter Framework

I have configured the CCMS to monitor XI message processing. For the Integration Server that works fine. But for the Adapter Framework I don't receive any alerts. I use the CIDX Adapter and I would like to receive an alert, when a RAE has been received or when an RA is overdue. Has anybody an idea if this is possible?

We are on XI 3.0 SP9 and are not receiving email alerts when the J2EE adapters fail in the RWB. We only receive email alerts when messages fail in the ABAP integration server.
Are you implying, from your previous post, that alert configuration in the RWB, although available before SP11, will only trigger alerts from adapter framework errors at SP11 level or higher?

Issues in BO report when creating from the BW query -

Hi Gurus ,
I am trying to create a report in BO which is coming from the BW query. I just want to duplicate the report currently in BW.
I have a Product line in the row and 23 key figures (Caluculate KF) in the columns and 10 more chars in the free charcterstics in BW query.
Created a universe based on this query and created a report in BO . Intially I used product line and all the 23 KF in the report.
The report data matched to Source report(BW). Fine.
The issue is when I am adding the chars from the free chars (as in BW) to the BO report the CKF are messing up, especillay some of the CKF are % and If I drag any other chars , the data is not coming correctly.
Please let me know if this is not clear enough to understand the problem.

Thanks for your help. When I changed the property to Database Deligant in universe and in the report when I refresh,
I am getting #ToREFRESH in the columns.
This is the CKF from the BW query which calculates the %A value.
Here is the caluculation in BW for that field. *MTD %A Prior Year.*
By default when I run the report in BO the numbers are matching.
When I add region and other chars to the report, the CKF values are not matching.
Please advise how to approach this issue.

How do I report/analyze data from the KM activity reporting service

I have turned on the km activity reporting service and I am getting .txt files generated with the information I am looking for but now I'm looking for the best way to collect this data from all the server clusters and aggregate the data for easier data analysis. I have reviewed the 'how to analyze portal activity with the activity data collector' white paper. This leads me to believe that the only way to collect and analyze this data is to write a script that collects and analyzes the data. Is this true or is there a better way of gathering and reporting this data? Is this data stored in a table somewhere?

the portal only offers basic monitoring capabilities. But it offers the possibility to create quite extensive logs, like km activity reporting service. What the portal writes to a DB table are the PAR statistics. The quite more extensive KM and ADC data is written to a file.
You can use SolMan to analyze the data. SolMan can gather, analze and write the data into the BI and gives you the basic report.
In the same way, you can use SolMan to gather the data and create your own BI reports. As it can be really hard to collect X logs from Y servernodes, SolMan offers an easy way to collect the different logs.

Key Figure values in the Bex Report are different from the cube

Hi all,
When I tried to pull data of the cube, the values of the Key Figure 0Lotsize_cm was showing 100 EA. But when I try to run the query of the cube, then the key figure is LotSize is showing up as 500 EA. I don't understand why this is happening.
When I checked for Aggregation in the Key Figure. It shows up as "Sum" under aggregation and "Last Value" under Exception aggregation.
Could some one help me find a solution to this issue.

Arun, I do not have any aggregates on the cube. I changed the aggregate properties of the Key Figure from SUM to Minimum. this has solved my problem temporarily.
the reason I am saying temporarily because this is a SAP delivered InfoObject. This is for the datasource 0CO_PC_PCP_01. When I read through the documents, it said, SUMMation for Aggregation and Last value for "Exception Aggregation" will display the value of KF as the last value and does not add them up.
Since this wasn't the happening in my query, I changed the Aggregation from SUM to Minimum.

Error when accessing a custom RFC from the ISA framework

I am trying to add new functionality to Ecommerce 5.0 by providing my own custom actions and calling a custom RFC. I followed the procedure given in "Development and Extension Guide u2013 SAP E-Commerce 5.0" i.e., "Extension Demo 6: Copy-Template for Customer Extensions"...
I am passing 2 parameters company code and customer number to the RFC via JCO.Function.getImportParameterList().setValue(String) one of which is a value "BP01"..I am getting back an error saying
Guest#0##n/a##8a55139c594311df8f0a000000000000#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_17##0#0#Error##Plain###Field BP01 not a member of INPUT#
I checked with the SAP guys at my work, the function module works well with those parameters from the GUI.. NOt sure what the problem could be..

Thanks for your help guys, Your answers were accurate for Ecommerce 6.0 and higher, I just learn t that E Commerce 5.0 uses Sapjco 2.X and there is a slight difference in the way we set the import parameter list..
In SAPJCO 2.x, we need to set
myFunction.getImportParameterList.setValue("Value", "FieldName");
where as in new SAPJCO3.x, we need to change the order i.e.,
myFunction.getImportParameterList.setValue("FieldName", "Value");

Broadcasting from the adapter framework

Hi Experts,
we have the following customer requirement: XI integrates an SAP ERP system with a large number of legacy systems (~100). XI "broadcasts" messages from the ERP system to the partner systems. Whats specific is that all these partner systems receive the message in the same format as the integration layer defines the message format (outside-in).
With a high message volume it would be clearly a waste to go the standard way in which XI supports this kind of scenario: cloning the message and transforming it individually for every partner system. As the message will be identical this would amount to a high degree of redundant processing.
Therefore, we would like to keep the message as one message through the mapping and broadcast at the latest possible point in XI. The idea is that we can do this around the adapter for the receiver system. A module could be linked in that distributes the message to multiple other communication channels.
My question is:
a) Is this architecturally and technical advisable or is there a better way to do it (bare in mind the performance implications)
b) If the above concept is appropriate, how can a message be passed on to other communication channels ? I could not find an example or some API documentation that would give clarity on this.

Looking at <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a4/31d940f52f7e7fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Message Flow to the Receiver</a>, it seems to me that what you probably want to do is replace the ModuleProcessorExitBean with a custom implementation capable of either:
1) calling multiple adapters and exiting module processing.
or
2) calling a single adapter without exiting module processing. In this case you could simply chain multiple calls to your module in order to call multiple adapters.
I would proceed by finding and decompiling the standard ModuleProcessorExitBean in order to determine if either or both of these approaches is feasible.
It seems that either way, your module will have to take responsibility for ensuring guaranteed delivery.

WdsClient: An error occurred while obtaining an IP address from the DHCP server

Trying to create and deploy a Windows 7 pro image for Dell optiplex 390s. Getting the dreaded error above when trying to connect to the DHCP. After a couple days of research I've tried injecting drivers, different version of drivers, injecting drivers into
a different boot image, changing the name and/or deleting the setup.exe file from the image, verified that spanning-tree portfast was enabled on the switch, and edited \windows\system32\startnet.cmd. Everything i've tried results in the error still showing.
When running ipconfig it looks like the NIC is not even initializing which leads me to believe it's a driver issue still. I'm out of ideas on this one. Anyone else have any?

Not supported: Cannot obtain an error message from the server on Win7

App is written against the RDC and runs fine on Xp, but on Win7 it fails when I change databases. Ie you can select from several databases from within the app. When doing so the app closes the RDC connection:
     if (m_Application != NULL) m_Application.Release();
     m_Application = NULL;
     if (m_Report != NULL) m_Report.Release();
     m_Report = NULL;
So that it is then reopened. This works fine on Xp, but not on Win7. I also tried the 11.5 Sp4 runtime. The ODBC log complain about an invalid handle.
I know that the RDC is deprecated, but I wonder if anyone else has run into this?

Crystal Reports - Tables Missing from the List Within SAP Data Dictionary

We have installed the Integration Kit and would like to create reports in Crystal Reports 2008 based on some transparent tables (BKPF being one) in our ECC 6.0 box. Using the standard Data Source 'SAP Table, Custer, or Function' we are able to connect to our ECC system and generate a list of tables within the data dictionary. However, we are missing quite a few tables such as BKPF and VBAK (tables we can see include EBKN and EBKZ).
We ran a trace on the system (ST01) but have not found any authorization failures for the assigned account (nor do any errors or issues show up in any of the work process trace logs).
Has anyone experience anything similar? Helpful pointers to helpful info is much appreciated (we do have all the install and user docs).

Hi Joe,
try the following:
- right click on the connection entry
- select the item options
- there is on the right hand a box that allows you to enter filter values. example SFL% will show all tables starting with SFL
- enter a filter and hit OK
- right click again
- select refresh.
most likely it is just the amount of tables coming back
