Obtaining current row of a record in a list

Good day everyone.
Need urgent help about this.
After performing a query, sql returned 5 records, I wanted to know the chronological order of single record from the 5 records returned.

Analytical SQL can also be used and can be a lot faster.
Your SQL solution does 2 separate/distinct selects from from TBL. This means 2 passes through the data in that table.
And then you force a cartesian join.
An analytical SQL function does not need a second pass through the data set. And precludes the need for something like a cartesian join.
E.g.
SQL> select
2 row_number() over (order by empno) as "ROWNUM",
3 count(*) over (partition by null) as "TOTAL",
4 e.empno,
5 e.ename
6 from emp e
7* order by 1
SQL> /
ROWNUM TOTAL EMPNO ENAME
1 14 7369 SMITH
2 14 7499 ALLEN
3 14 7521 WARD
4 14 7566 JONES
5 14 7654 MARTIN
6 14 7698 BLAKE
7 14 7782 CLARK
8 14 7788 SCOTT
9 14 7839 KING
10 14 7844 TURNER
11 14 7876 ADAMS
12 14 7900 JAMES
13 14 7902 FORD
14 14 7934 MILLER
14 rows selected.

PS. and there is a better way that partitioning by null for a total count, but I cannot recall what it is. Still, this approach shows a single pass and mixing aggregated results with fine-grain columns.
