Obtaining document info using categories/perspectives as search criteria

Hi, I'm really stuck on this and any help would be much appreciated.
I want to select out document information using the categories and perspectives as search criteria, I've written the following select statement but am not sure that this is the correct way to do it and I keep getting a 'unhandled user-defined exception ... at PORTAL.WWCTX_SSO'
(I have set the context before running the sql)

I just tried your query in SQL* Plus, TOAD & Oracle Portal - Dynamic Page & PL?SQL Item. I set the context ( as given int he Documentation ) using :-
PORTAL.wwctx_api.set_context('PORTAL','JKuNcME9','Oracle');I then tried your code & it works fine. I don't see the usual ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception.
Your logic does look fine - I haven't tired something like this with Categories & Perspectives, but your query looks fine to me. I'll try to snoop around Metalink & see what I get...

We are just beginning a conversion and upgrade project to convert our Web site to Oracle Portal. I'm trying to get a good handle on some different things we need to resolve as part of the project. One of the first decisions is using Categories and Perspectives.
I'd like to ask users about how they have used categories and perspectives and some real-world examples of how these work and improve the site and user experience.

We're a big nonprofit river authority and wholesale electric provider in Austin, Texas. Currently, we offer very limited online transaction capabilities. However, we are diverse organization and users come to us looking for every specific information, so these elements may be very helpful. Perspectives and categories may be leveraged in custom search portlets, so that you can enter the content one time, in one place, and have selected content display in multiple places.
Re: our "news" concept: our central communications group posts news stories tagged with one or more perspectives, such as which school is related to the story. This allows us to keep all of our news stories in one page group, but reuse the content elsewhere. For example, for the School of Nursing intranet, we can use a custom search portlet that automatically displays only that school's stories.
You'll want to do some up-front planning regarding your classification scheme. One significant limitation of both categories and perspectives is the inability to change the hierarchy. Oracle Portal product team, if you're reading this, this is a serious pain! I might also recommend leaving your classification scheme relatively flat. Tagging content with perspectives becomes more difficult if the content contributor has to visually traverse a deep hierarchy of perspectives.
Categories work similarly, but we mainly use them to visually sort items on a page using the "Group By" feature of a region.
Hope this gets some gears turning.

Is there a way to search for a Word document that uses a specific font? There is only one possible document on my hard drive that uses this font.

There must be a way, that info is stored in the Document near the end, like...

Open PDF's in new window in document library when using "Find a file" search

I need to be able to open PDF's in a new window from a document library when using the "Find a file" search built into the document library "All documents" view. I currently have the following javascript on the page:

This works great when going to the document library and navigating through the folders then clicking on a link.
The problem is when someone goes to the document library then uses the "Find a file" search and then they click on a link. The "Find a file" search does not do a postback (reload) of the page, therefore my javascript to find the PDF links
and make them open in a new window does not run for the links on the page.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to open PDF files in a new window from a document library when using the "Find a file" search.
As you said, the "Find a file" search does not do a postback (reload) of the page, therefore JavaScript to find the PDF links and make them open in a new window does not run for the links on the page.
I recommend to use JS link to achieve the goal. Create a JavaScript override file and upload the JavaScript file to the Master Page Gallery, and then set the JS Link property of the document library web part to point to the JavaScript file.

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

Using Oracle Text to search through WORD, EXCEL and PDF documents

What I would like to know is if I have a WORD or PDF document stored in a table. Is it possible to use Oracle Text to search through the actual WORD or PDF document?

Yes you can do context sensitive searches on both PDF and Word docs. With the PDF you need to make sure they are text and not images. Some scanners will create PDFs that are nothing more than images of document.
Below is code sample that I made some time back to demonstrate the searching capabilities of Oracle Text. Note that the example makes use of the inso_filter that is no longer shipped with Oracle begging with Patch set 10.1.0.4. See metalink note 298017.1 for the changes. However, the Category search criterion doesn't seem to work when we try to search for transactions using categories from the second categorization schema. The same search criterion works well with the first categorization schema. Can you pls. give us an idea on what configurations we could be missing out on? Will greatly appreciate your help. Query a document library using Search Rest API

How can we search for a specific document library using SharePoint Search through Rest API? We have a couple of document libraries which have thousands of documents with its relevant metadata information stored. We need to create an app to search through

Taking what Shakir said you would substitute queryText with a managed property query (KQL) to query against metadata from the Document library. So if your document library has a Owner column then you would either create or use an existing managed property
defined in the Search Schema. So your query may look like this:

Problem in WebUI Search using categories

When doing an Advanced Find in the WebUI using a content type search specifing a Category and searching on the attributes, the results are the category instances and not the publicobjects that they associate with. The WinUI does this correctly. Ideas on how to correct?

I have just started exploring oracle 9i Lite to develop apps. on Palm and WinCE using OKAPI but the documentation does not seem enough. Is there some book or sample programs available that demonstrate OKAPI to develop form based apps ? CodeWarrior and Satellite Forms are not good when someone wants to try writing demp app.

Can any expert help to distinguish Document Info Record (e.g. CV04N) and Archivelink (e.g. OAER)?
When should we use these two document management systems?
We're now using ArchiveLink but we it is hard for us to search for specific document since there're no business custom attributes or characteristics to describe the document. Can we add custom attributes to ArchiveLink document?
Document Info Record support characteristics seem can solve the problem. But how do we upload the document by using BAPI rather than attach it manually by CV01N.

As you mentioned, object links could be linked to Purchase order items. In customisation you maintain these entries under the node SPRO > Cross Application Components> Document Management--> Control Data --> Define Document Types --> Define Object Links.
There are many links in the standard system (possible entries).
The system automatically determines the screen number (dialog box) where the key data for the object is maintained for document maintenance.
You can check the screens when the screen entry is missing or contains errors by doing the following:
Start the Object Navigator and display the objects for the development class CV.
Expand the function group 130. The structure nodescreens lista all screens that can be used for object links.
You can make an object link to SAP objects that are not shown in the possible entries list. To do this, proceed as follows:
In the standard system, there are already two special screens for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 for the linked SAP object.
You must create two new screens with the same number for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 .
The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program SAPLVC130.
Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = object name)
If the object can be classified, this function module already exists .
Otherwise copy the function module for linking equipment DOCUMENT_CHECK_EQUI and change it as required for the new object.

Error while Updating document details using Edit option

We are currently on Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) on Solaris, 64 bit. We have added new perspectives on the knowledge portal which we use within our firm.
We are able to upload documents with new perspectives but when we try to edit currently uploaded documents and add new perspectives. We are getting no data found and Error 30694: Error in API - update item failed.
Please share your experiences on this.

Download older version of a file from SharePoint Document Library using CSOM and 404 error

I am trying to download previous versions including Major and Minor versions of documents from SharePoint Online using CSOM. I get 404 error when I try to download the file. I found several posts on various discussion forums where people are getting same
error but none of those have any solution/answer. Below is one of the threads and sample code I have tried that results in 404 error. If I use the link in browser directly, I am able to download the file. Also I am able to download the current version of file
using CSOM without any problem, it is only the older versions that give me 404 in CSOM.

I think sample code in the SDK contains a 'skeleton' plugin, I'd start with that. It should also provide a list of suites that get automatically loaded, I think it's in Suites.h. Just make sure AIDocumentSuite is in the list, and if it's not, just follow the examples in that file to add it. That should end up with a global variable called 'sDocument', which has all the suite functions as methods.
Then it's something like:

AIErr error = sDocument->GetDocumentSetup(&setup);
// check error to make sure it's kNoErr
Then you just have to inspect the setup struct for (hopefully) the answers you're looking for.
