Oc4j - 9.0.4 not supported!!!

While searchign for DST patches for our systems I just noticed that oj4c 9.0.4 is not supported by Oracle. However when I download Oracle Databalse Lite from oracle.com it comes with oc4j 9.0.4. Isn't this something oracle should upgrade to a supported version?

See these numbers on ARU for the respective version of your mobileserver.

  • Struts 1.2.9 on OC4J 10.1.2 Not working

    Hi All,
    I have been trying all sort of different things to deploy my .ear file on OC4J that has struts used in .war file. The same .ear file deploys correctly and works fine on runtime for my Standalone OC4J10.1.2 on windows but when I try to deploy it on UNIX box for Standalone OC4J10.1.2 it does deploy right but it breaks runtime on access to login.jsp as soon as it finds the first struts tag.
    Pl help me asap. I have no idea, if this version of struts is not supported by this version of OC4J or what?

    Did you try changing the xml parser to use Xerces instead of Oracle?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/how-to-swapxmlparser/doc/readme.html
    It is a pretty long article.

    My Steps for OJMS PRovider
    1. Creating AQ queue in DB
    2. configuration of resource adapter and provider
    3. configuration of connection factories for resourceadapter[jmsconnector]
    code:
    1. Created the Queue table in DB using the sql
    DROP USER jmsuser CASCADE;
    GRANT connect, resource,AQ_ADMINISTRATOR_ROLE TO jmsuser IDENTIFIED BY jmsuser;
    GRANT execute ON sys.dbms_aqadm TO jmsuser;
    GRANT execute ON sys.dbms_aq TO jmsuser;
    GRANT execute ON sys.dbms_aqin TO jmsuser;
    GRANT execute ON sys.dbms_aqjms TO jmsuser;
    connect jmsuser/jmsuser;
    -- Create table to hold the queue, then create queue.
    -- For topics multiple_consumers must be true
    BEGIN
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE_TABLE( Queue_table => 'SMSCP_INQTBL', Queue_payload_type => 'SYS.AQ$_JMS_MESSAGE',
    sort_list => 'PRIORITY,ENQ_TIME', multiple_consumers => false, compatible => '8.1.5');
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE( Queue_name => 'SMSCP_INQ', Queue_table => 'SMSCP_INQTBL');
    DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE(queue_name => 'SMSCP_INQ');
    END;
    quit;
    Now our queue Name is queue Name : SMSCP_INQ table Name: SMSCP_INQTBL
    2. Creating the Cp and datasource for the db [jmsuser] to make java to access queue
    Creating ConnectionPool jmsDBPool
    Creating DataSource jmsDBDataSource
    Jndi jdbc jdbc/JMSDBDS
    After creating, i got the following data-sources.xml
    DATASOURCES.XML
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <data-sources xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/data-sources-10_1.xsd" schema-major-version="10" schema-minor-version="1">

    </connection-pool>
    </data-sources>

  • Load balancing 10g forms - Connection from new browser window not supported

    Load balancing 10g forms - Connection from new browser window not supported
    We're experimenting with using webcache to load balance between multiple applications servers running OC4J forms processes.
    We currently have one machine with infrastructure and mid-tier (BI & Forms) installed, which is being used for the webcache functionality, this is load balancing between 2 other servers each of which just have the mid-tier (BI & Forms) installation
    In order to get this to work, I had to follow the instructions in the Forms deployment guide : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_11/web.1012/b14032/tuning.htm#sthref707
    The main gist of this is that you need to set the following in the orion-web.xml file in order that the sessions are maintained:
    <session-tracking
    cookies="enabled">
    </session-tracking>
    This all works fine in most cases.
    The problem I am having is if I do one of the following on the client machine:
    1) From IE6 / IE7 run a copy of a forms application. Then open a new window using the "New Window" menu option, and attempt to run another forms application.
    2) In IE7 or Firefox 2.0 open a copy of the forms application, and then open a new tab and try and open another forms application.
    If I try either of these I get a FRM-92101 error, and the following is displayed in the java console:
    oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: Connection from new browser window not supported
    From trawling various forums (including metalink and otn) it looks like a problem with the way coockies are handled.
    Unfortunately the usual workaround is to ensure that the session tracking option in the orion-web.xml file is disabled.
    The problem is that I need this enabled in order for the load balancing to work.
    Does anyone know of any other workarounds or patches that might help resolve this?
    We're using Application server 10.1.2.0.2 running on windows 2003 servers.

    You were right. Carriage returns were stopping it from working (the document is laid out over separate lines, so I assumed it would make no difference...).
    I've now managed to get it so the forms at least run, but they are all being run in the forms OC4J instance on the same machine as the OHS.
    Has anyone actually managed to get this to work, or am I doing something wrong?
    I did wonder if using an OHS instance on a machine with no forms installation would make any difference?
    I had raised a support call via metalink on this subject, but they eventually came to the conclusion that the only way to do this is with a hardware load balancer (Despite several documents suggesting that webcache is the way to go (including the forms deployment manual)).
    I'm at the point now of giving up and writing some custom scripts to do the job instead...

  • Java.lang.Error: JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients.

    We have some web services that run under OC4J 10.1.3.4. We have various JEE 'client' apps (JSF, servlets etc.) that use these web services. These JEE apps also run under OC4J.
    We started a migration project from oc4j to weblogic 10.3.2. In phase 1 we want to move these JEE 'client' apps to weblogic. In phase 2 we want to move the web services themselves to weblogic with adjustments to the JEE 'client' apps as needed.
    However we ran into an issue during this phase 1. Deploying these JEE 'client' apps to weblogic results in an error like this:
    java.lang.Error: JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients. If you are attempting to run an OC4J 10.1.3 JAX-RPC client in WLS, please see the Web Service Migration Guide for instructions.
    We are including Oracle web services client libraries (http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/oc4j/1013/wsclient_extended.zip) in these JEE 'client' apps's war files because weblogic does not have them.
    What part of Web Service Migration Guide is the above error message talking about? Do we have to re-generate the client side proxies for all these web services using weblogic's clientgen task in 'JAXRPC' mode? Many of these web services are doc/literal jax-rpc web services. Or does the migration guide recommend we migrate the web services first to weblogic? Any other specific information on working around this error message would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    I had the same issue but I just managed to fix it. You must upgrade and/or regenerate you proxy. This creates new classes (possibily in a new package) that you must use in your code. I had this error because the classes directory was not clean after the rebuild and the old classes (in the old package) were still present, so the compilation was successful with the old classes. So clean your classes directories, regenerate your proxy and use the new classes in your code.
    Regards,
    Sylvain

  • Jdeveloper 11g - JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients.

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g and migrating a web Service Proxy created using jdeveloper 10g.
    I imported all the proxy classes and when I try to run web service client In Jdeveloper 11g I get the following error
    "JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients. If you are attempting to run an OC4J 10.1.3 JAX-RPC client in WLS, please see the Web Service Migration Guide for instructions."
    Please advise on how to solve this?
    which is the offending jar/library file in Jdeveloper 11g which is causing the above error?.
    Is the above problem there in the WebLogic Server Runtime also?
    Please let me know.
    2) I cannot generate web server proxies also with jdev11g because the wsdl has overloaded methods omitting the name property within the input and output message, ie, they have a null name. therefore Jdeveloper 11g is using the library which
    when called with an overloaded operation that contains null input/output message names, a duplicate error occurs because it sees other operations with the same name. so it is effectively not allowing to create the web service proxies.
    Thanks,
    Appreciate your quick response to the above

    Have you checked the 'Web Service Migration Guide' mentioned in the error message?

    Hello,
    You should not try to mix JSP and JSF EL prior to JSF 1.2 and JSP 2.1, the result is inconsistent most of the time.
    To fix your current issue though, I suggest you use the rendered attribute instead of a <c:if>, so would be:
    <h:outputText styleClass="texto_red"
    value="#{bean.genericErrorMessages}"
    id="applicationErrorMessages" escape="false" rendered="#{!empty bean.genericErrorMessages}"/>Regards,

  • Character Set not supported

    Hi,
    I use Repository Administrative to create a new repository, but i got a error: "process aborted"
    Then i checked the log file, which is Character Set not support from type 31 to type 852
    anybody knows any solution about that
    Thanks in advance

    Just ran into this myself yester day.
    There is a Metalink Note on it.
    http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showFrameDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=190281.1
    Problem Description
    You are using OC4J and trying to connect to a database using JDBC OCI and
    are getting:
    "java.sql.SQLException: Character Set Not Supported !!: DBConversion"
    Solution Description
    Replace the <OC4J_HOME>\jdbc\lib\classes12dms.jar with
    <ORACLE_HOME>\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar and rename it with classes12dms.jar.
    Explanation
    It seems there is a mismatch of classes12.zip supplied with OC4J 9.0.2
    and the Oracle9i client libraries ocijdbc8.dll or ocijdbc8.so.
    OC4J 9.0.2 does not use jdbc\lib\classes12.jar instead it uses
    jdbc\lib\classes12dms.jar. So, in order to use the 9.0.1 client with OC4J, you
    will need to make a copy of classes12.jar and rename it to classes12dms.jar
    References
    [NOTE:108876.1] Creating Connection gives "No ocijdbc8 in java.library.path"
    [NOTE:174808.1] JDev9i and OCI Connections
    I copied and renamed the jar (classes12.jar) as they stated.
    Note: It should be in the directory you set in the JDev.conf, mine is
    AddNativeCodePath D:\OraNT\9iDS\bin

  • SQLException Character Set Not Supported

    I'm at wit's end.
    I have the following versions:
    Win2k
    JDeveloper 9i R2
    Oracle9iAS 9.0.3.0.0
    Oracle 9i client 9.0.1.1
    Sun J2SDK 1.3.1
    Oracle 9i Enterprize Edition 9.0.1.3.0
    I'm trying to get a JDBC connection from a DataSource in a servlet. The result is the following error: java.sql.SQLException: Character Set Not Supported !!: DBConversion.
    I get the same problem just trying a simple JDBC connection in JDeveloper. I can fix this problem by forcing JDeveloper to use classes12.jar from the Oracle client directory BEFORE oc4j.jar in the JDeveloper libraries.
    Unfortunately, I can't get the external 9iAS server to make this switch. It's (naturally) using its copy of oc4j.jar.
    Any ideas on:
    1) How to properly avoid the Character Set error.
    2) How to force 9i AS to use different libraries before it looks in oc4j.
    Any help is greatly appreciated

    I have tried the embedded server in JDeveloper with the same results. Currently, I am using the external one.
    I believe the data source is valid. I can duplicate this problem by just using a plain JDBC connection from DriverManager. Also, I switched to the 1.0.2 version of oc4j, replaced the Oracle stuff with 8i versions and was able to connect using the same data-sources.xml.
    This problem also goes away when using the thin driver but we're reluctant to use the thin driver for performance reasons.
    Thanks for the response,
    TG

  • Character set not supported!! DBConversion error. Need Help!

    I installed JDeveloper9.2 on windows 2000. When I try to make a database server connection by using OCI8 driver, it gives me a "Character set not supported DBConversion error". After that I tried to connect database by using Thin driver, everything is OK. I really need your help.
    I used database connection wizard to make the connection. Connection type I selected ORACLE(JDBC) and drive I selected OCI8. After that I tried to test connection, it gave me above error. I noticed that JDeveloper did not talked with database server at all, I tried to connect with a database server which does not exist, it still gave me the same error.

  • Oracle reports not supporting WCHAR and WVARCHAR

    I have been using Oracle Reports Builder 10g (Report Builder 9.0.4.0.33) to test against an ODBC backend database via the provided jdbc-odbc bridge, this has been working well but recently the server backend changed to be UTF-8 compatible and as a result now returns the WCHAR and WVARCHAR types (ODBC types -8 and -9). These cause an error in the Report Designer
    REP-0069 Internal Error
    JDBCPDS-62013: The column type WCHAR used in the query/procedure is not supported by Reports JDBC Query.
    I have my NLS_LANG and DEVELOPER_NLS_LANG set to ENGLISH_UNITED KINGDOM.UTF8.
    Is there any way to enable the support for WCHAR/WVARCHAR in the Reports Builder?
    Regards,
    Adam.

    Is this a problem with one type of report? Does a simple test report created in the builder work ok?
    How are you running the report? From a URL or from Forms?
    Is there any error showing in the ?/reports/logs or in the ?/opmn/logs (either in the report server log or in the OC4J)?
    Can you run the report using rwrun?

  • BIweb service proxy JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients

    Hello
    I have an application in oracle Application server and I'm migrating to weblogic 11g .
    I have used web service proxy for BIPublisher 10.1.3.4 , careated by jdeveloper web service proxy wizard , when I want using it in weblogic , In corresponding form that uses BI Publisher web service proxy , I encounter following error :
    "JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients , if you attempting to run oc4j 10.1.3 JAX-RPC client in WLS,please see Web service Migration Guide for Instructions"
    What should I do?
    Regards
    Mehdi

    Spoke to dev and there was a bug logged, it seems to be down to Weblogic's implementation.
    +This is pure WLS issue. The root cause of this problem is that Weblogic's
    SAAJ implementation. No codechange on BIP server side
    WLS 10 ships with two SAAJ implementations. By default the buggy 9.x
    implementation is used (which lives in the package
    weblogic.webservice.core.soap), but there is a new implementation, which
    supports SAAJ 1.3 (which lives in the package weblogic.xml.saaj). I also
    checked in a debugging jsp page, which could help looking at the DEBUG
    logging to see which SAAJ implementation is used.
    JSP testpage xmlponline/wwwroot/wsclient/soapclient-wls-8270711.jsp
    To use this new version, you have to make sure setting the
    -Djavax.xml.soap.MessageFactory=weblogic.xml.saaj.MessageFactoryImpl
    in startWebLogic script. +
    Please give the solution a try and let me know if it works.
    Regards
    tim

  • Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported

    Hi,
       Whenever I do a quick par upload i'm getting an 'Operation failed' message to check sap-plugin.log.
       Log says
    Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported, please ensure this server is not using HTTPS. My webdynpro applications are getting deployed without any issues.
         How to resolve this?
    Thanks
    Sumathi

    Hi Sumathi,
    As there are often problems with the Quick PAR Upload reported, I would suggest to use the "normal" PAR upload from the icon tray (you have to activate the portal icons in the icon tray). That is almost that "quick" (one or two clicks more needed, we don't talk about more than a second) and - it works (it least it should, and at least it works in most cases even if the Quick PAR Upload fails).
    Hope it helps
