OC4J Version with jDeveloper

Hello, I've downloaded both jDeveloper 10g 10.1.3(J2EE) and
10.1.2, I'm developing for an OAS 9.0.4 and I want to know which version of OC4J they come with.
I want to develop with exactly the same version of the production server.
Maybe I must use the jDeveloper 9.0.5.2 version..
Could anyone give more information about that?
Thanks!

I have verified that the version number of jDeveloper matches with the oc4j that it comes with it.
But i've also realized that the newer versions of jDeveloper comes with new interesting features. So my question now is can I change the OC4J embebed into jDeveloper? That way I could use the jDeveloper J2EE edition with a 9.0.4

  • Missing method in orabpel.jar version with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 [Solved]

Hello, I develop BPEL Application, and in my code I use the method getRevision() of the com.oracle.bpel.client.IBPELProcessHandle interface. To do it, I use BPM Workflow Library, which ships with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3. Compiler tells me that "method getRevision() not found in interface com.oracle.bpel.client.IBPELProcessHandle", though it must be present there according to javadoc (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/integrate.1012/b25709/com/oracle/bpel/client/IBPELProcessHandle.html).
So, how can I call this method? If update library, where can I get the right version and how to attach it correctly?
    Waiting for your response!

    Hi,
only because a method was available in an older version (10.1.2) it doesn''t mean it still exists in the current
Please consult the BPEL forum if there were any API changes in this class

  • Oc4j version upgradation ...

    Hi Friends,
Presently our web application is running under j2sdk1.4.2_17 and oc4j_9_0_4_20040317. I want to upgrade my java version atlest to java1.5. But presently our application is using jndi.jar and classes12dms.jar along with other. But these two libraries are not present in new versions of oc4j. Did they replace these with any other libraries? or renamed to any other name?
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
I installed oc4j_extended_101330 version, that is supporting java1.5 but jndi.jar and classes12dms.jar are not present. I need a oc4j version with jndi.jar and classes12dms.jar and that should support java1.5 or above.
    Thanks,
    Ashok

    Thomas,
You are right the Oc4J version embebbed with Jdev9i is a little older version than the Oc4J Developers preview. When JDev9i goes production it will include the production version of Oc4J 9.0.2.x.
    hope this helps

  • JDBC Problem with Oracle 8.1.7. and OC4J  Version 2

I use the following connection statement with Oracle 8.1.7. and JDeveloper 3 and Apache Server. It works fine.
    String user = "scott/tiger";
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:oci8:"+user+"@RDL");
The same program does not obtain the connection with JDeveloper 9i, OC4J Version 2 and Oracle 8.1.7. I do not receive any error message, no exception is thrown.
    Please help me.

    Hi Avi,
I had already tried the thin Diriver but after yout help I try again.
With this thin driver, I received a SQLException which helps me.
As usual, there were a lot of different problems. The main one was that my default configuration do not use the jdbc/lib817 main jdbc/lib. There is a classe12.jar in these libs that are apparently different.
Finally, I obtain the connection with the "thin" driver.
    Thank you very much Avi!

  • Using Struts with JDeveloper, BC4J and OC4J 9.0.2

Is it feasible to use Struts with JDeveloper 9.0.2, BC4J 9.0.2 and OC4J 9.0.2? We have an application that uses the BC4J JBO tags in version 9.0.2. We wish to use Struts and we want to retain the use of the JBO tags. Is there a way to do this without upgrading to 9.0.3?

    Here are two related questions:
Can we upgrade to oracle9iAS 9.0.3 yet still use JDeveloper 9.0.2 and BC4J/JBO 9.0.2?
Can we upgrade to JDeveloper 9.0.3 and BC4J/JBO 9.0.3 yet still deploy to oracle9iAS 9.0.2?

  • JDeveloper version numbers and OC4J version numbers

    Hi all,
I know that the version numbers of the Oracle application server and the OC4J plugin are the same the default, but how is that with JDeveloper compared to the OC4J version of the embedded JDeveloper application server.
Is it the same always and if not where can I find a mapping table. E.g. is for JDeveloper version 10.1.3 also the OC4J container version 10.1.3 etc.
    regards,
    Ronald

    Ronald,
yes, Oracle JDeveloper versions are in synch with OC4J and 10.1.3 JDeveloper uses OC4J 10.1.3.

  • Deploy to SatndAlone OC4J with Jdeveloper

I install Jdeveloper and Standalone Oc4J on seperate machines
when I try to deploy an application to Oc4J, always failed ,error cann't find admin.jar
It seems that JD always find admin.jar locally,.As Standalone Oc4J and JD are't on the same server, I cann't deploy successfully.
Standalone Oc4J and JD must be on the same server?
    Does anyone have other ideas?
    thanks in advance.

JDeveloper and OC4J don't need to be on the same server when you deploy an application. You can enter a remote machine in the URL. The admin.jar has to be local though. (Unless you use OC4J 10.1.3 and use the enterprise manager to deploy the application)
Did you make a connection in JDeveloper to the remote OC4J? You can test this connection and then use this connection when you deploy the application.
What versions of JDeveloper and the standalone OC4J are you using?
In JDeveloper10.1.2 you can specify where the admin.jar is located (right click the oc4j connection, click properties, select the connection tab). The admin jar needs to be local.
I think that some versions of JDeveloper are not completely compatible with some versions of the standalone OC4J. If you use another version of the OC4J, you might need to copy it to the machine where JDeveloper is located and point JDeveloper to it in the connection tab.
    Hope this helps,
    Lonneke

  • Correct version of jdeveloper to use with Oracle App Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi,
I just want to be sure, I am new to JDeveloper and I would just like to verify/ask what correct version of JDeveloper should we use so we could deploy the finished applications on our Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 without errors?
Looking at this support matrix: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11/as_supportmatrix.html#1013
I think we can use JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2)?
I downloaded Jdeveloper 10.1.2 from this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft10g.html.
Will this work well with Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2?
    Thank you very much,
    Mickey

  • Version Control with JDeveloper

Does any one know what version control packages can be used with JDeveloper? If you do, would you please let me know where I can get info on them.
    Thank you

    Alex,
There are two parts to this answer.
You can hook up any version control system
    to JDeveloper using various JDeveloper
    extension mechanisms including adding items
to the tools menu or complete wizards.
On OTN, you can find an CustomAddins which provides a way to integrate to any version control system by editing some batch files to point to their "put" and "get" type tools. This is meant as a simple starting point.
Starting with JDeveloper 3.2, you will be able to take advantage of the intergrated source control feature that integrates Oracle Repository's source control features into JDeveloper.
    I hope this helps,
    -John

  • Version Control with JDeveloper application using ClearCase

My team is evaluating J Developer to see if
it matchs our requirement. We want
to know how we will be able to use Clearcase
as version control tool with our Java or JSP application developed using JDeveloper.
We understand that J Developer will help us
to create a zip file for deployment. Do we need to check in/out that zip file, zip/unzip the zip file, look for the file
that we want to change, and then make change to it?
If so how Clear Case knows which files in that zip file has been changed and what changes have been made?
Currently, we use Clearcase to check in/out
every single file, one at a time. We don't know how it will work with a zip file.
    Sincerely,
    Khanh

This one should go to Sun.
Try OC4J with the VM installed with JDeveloper. Also, you might want to try 1.3.1_02 (just to see if that works on your machine)
