Oci8 unloaded

Question

I'm using oracle9i and zend core for oracle 2 running on Windows XP. My problem is, when I check under configuration --> extension oci8-oracle is not loaded. The note says" an inconsistency occurred between the server state and the php.ini state". When I run my PHP, it shows a error message "Fatal error: Call to undefined function oci_connect() ". I didn't changed any configuration after installation of zend core. Please help.

I'm running into the same problem. I followed the installation instructions for Oracle 10g XE and Zend for Oracle. The phpinfo() doesn't reference php_oci8.dll specifically. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any mention of oci* at all anywhere. Even when I called the dll directly (putting in the direct path into the php.ini file) it didn't work. Default installs on Oracle XE, Apache, and Zend.
Apache is 2.2.4, PHP is 5.2.3. Zend is 2.0 I tried all of the versions of php_oci8.dll offered on the Oracle website through their link on this page:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/htdocs/php-oracle-tutorial.html
without success.
I keep getting the same error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function oci_connect() in C:\<<path to htdocs>>oci8_test.php on line 2.
