ODBC drivers for Linux

Need help in making SAS/Access to ODBC work with Oracle on a Linux OS machine.

FreeTDS is a set of libraries for Unix and Linux that allows your programs to natively talk to Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase databases.
I bet you can use to connect to access or any odbc source.
I use it to query a sql server from linux. It's quite simple to setup if you follow the instructions

I am currently using JdbcOdbcBridge on Windows NT/2000 for accessing MS SQLServer.
But I want to transfer my application servers to Linux
RedHat 7.1. My database should remain MS SQLServer.
Can you suggest me a way to connect to MSSQL Server
from Linux? An ODBC driver would also be
enough for me, i.e. I can use a JdbcOdbcBridge regardless of performance problems.
Where can I find MS SQL Server drivers for Linux?

Display drivers for linux

I have Toshiba Satellite P20, and I would like to install debian or mandrake distribution, however there is serious problem with display configuration. I cannot set proper screen resolution. Does anybody know where I can get drivers for linux?? Graphic chip is GeForce FX Go5200 with atypical screen resolution 1440:900 pixels.

months ago I had the same problem with a toshiba notebook of a friend. He wants to install also a linux distribution and I found a very good linux page from toshiba.
Maybe your model is also listed as linux compatible!?!

Broadcom 4401 Lan Drivers for Linux

Hi
I recently bought 648 Max (MS-6585) with Broadcom 4401 onboard LAN chip.
I couldn't find drivers for Linux for the lan chip. The rest of the system seems to work fine.
Does anyone have experience running linux on this motherboard?

Specifying Partner Failover in odbc.ini for Linux ODBC driver for SQL Server

We are trying to specify the partner failover when making connections via Linux ODBC driver for SQL Server. Do you know a way to specify partner failover in the DSN entry in odbc.ini?
We are using Linux ODBC driver for SQL Server and unixODBC DriverManager.
Our DSN is:
[MyDSN]
Driver=ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server
Description=MyDSN
Server=MySERVER,<port>
I also tried to use the following connection string in Python (via pyodbc) bypassing the DSN and connecting using the server name.
cnxn = pyodbc.connect("Server=server1,<port>;UID=sa;PWD=<pwd>;Driver=ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server;Failover_Partner=Server2,<port2>;Database=MyDB")
If the standby DB is on server1 connection fails. It doesn't try server2. If the DB is principal on server1 connection succeeds.

Did you use ODBC Driver for SQL Server to connect to database that uses database mirroring?
According to
the BOL,it does not list "Failover_Partner" as ODBC Driver for Linux connection string keywords.
But ODBC driver for Linux supports
AlwaysOn Availability Groups or Failover Cluster Instance by specify MultiSubnetFailover=True when connecting to a SQL Server 2012 availability group listener or SQL Server 2012 Failover Cluster Instance.
The following case is about similar issue and it seems that ODBC Driver on Linux does not recognize Failover_Partner in connection string. (Not test myself).You can refer to:

How come Oracle's web site only has downloads for NT and Solaris. Where do I get the latest JDBC driver for Linux?

You should be able to use clases111.zip from AIX or NT with your
Linux client, just copy the file, and add it to your CLASSPATH.
I'm using classes111.zip from AIX (8.1.5) on NT and Win95
clients.
This will work for the thin client, the oci8 needs SQL*Net
(and some more support libs.) installed to work

Drivers for Linux OS

My laptop is Lenovo G570.
Lenovo didn't provide drivers and other softwares for Linux OS. As I would like to install Ubuntu, where can I get those?
I checked the website but it didn't find them for linux.

ubuntu should have everything you need already there. some lenovos (i don't know about your particular model) have issues with the uefi which is like a bios but hates linux. in this case you have to change out the grub 2 bootloader in ubuntu for grub legacy. if you run into this problem try linux mint its very similar to ubuntu minus the unity overlay, but it still runs regular grub. another problem my b570 and some v570's have is with the wireless. if you run into this issue open a terminal and type the following commands
sudo service network-manager stop
sudo rmmod acer_wmi
sudo modprobe acer_wmi
sudo rfkill unblock all
sudo service network-manager start
sudo rmmod -f acer_wmi
then to get the settings to stick after reboot type
sudo su
echo "blacklist acer_wmi" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
exit
and you will have working wifi

I have a Qosmio F30-111 and i need the drivers for the Raid controller for Linux. Can anyone help me.
I have RAID-0 and the notebook doesn't boot. It shows the logo of XP and them reboots. So i need to boot from cd or pendrive to acess or repair the raid partition.

Qosmio F20-136 tv tuner drivers for Linux Suse 10

Hello,
Does anyone know where I can find linux drivers for the F20-136's tv tuner? I understand that the Qosmio Player is based on linux so presumably they do, but I have been unable to find them.
Ideally, I'm after Suse 10 compatible drivers.

Quick quesion about C-Media drivers for Linux

Ok, I have Linux Mandrake 9.1 working fine on my 865PE board, except for sound. Since I want my Mic port and line in to be used so I can have my 5.1 sound, which set of drivers do I install from C-Media's site, I notice they have two different sets of drivers for mainboards, or, if there is a link on MSI, link me to it, didn't see it on msicomputer.com

Dear Guys,
I am writing small code in C language which will connects Oracle to insert/delete and update data in oracle database. Despite of searching I don't find ODBC driver to connect to Oracle database in Linux platform through C language code. Can anybody please let me know if Oracle provides such ODBC Driver?

Ditto for Java. (keep in mind that ODBC is a Microsoft invention)
And the OCI is not that more complex to use than ODBC. In fact, OCI is a lot more powerful. And the Oracle® Call Interface Programmer's Guide has numerous source code examples you can essentially copy and paste and modify for your needs. See Appendix B. Demonstration Programs.
The resulting code is also a lot more portable - relying directly on an OCI client driver, instead of an ODBC driver that runs on top of an OCI driver.

11G ODBC Driver For Linux x86_64

I've got Oracle Database 11G installed on a machine running Fedora Core.
I'm trying to find an ODBC driver for it, but I am not seeing anything except for one made by EasySoft that you have to pay for.
Oracle's documentation claims that they have ODBC drivers, but when I go to the software section all I see is one for 10G that was last updated in 2006.
Am I just not looking in the right place?

Clicking on your link provides a location where the instant client can be downloaded. However, the last x86-64 instant client with ODBC is 10.2.0.4 and (as you have mentioned in other threads) this is not "officially" support. Furthermore, there is a bug in this version that appears when trying to run any query (connect is OK though). So, can't use 10.2.0.4. It appears there are no 11.x versions of the x86-64 instant client that support ODBC.
So, given an x86-64 system, where everything is running 64-bit, what are we to do with regards to an Oracle Instant Client?
I have mysql, Teradata and SQL Server all running fine with 64-bit ODBC. Is my only choice to go back to all 32-bit libraries?

I don't see an x86_64 Linux ODBC library for Oracle (at least in the InstantClient download area).
Is such a beast available? If so, from where? If not, when?

I am not sure whether oracle has one available, you may want to try easysoft for one - just a suggestion as I happened to notice they may have one.

JDBC DRIVERS FOR LINUX (8.1.6)

So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
Where can a person download the JDBC Drivers (CLASSES12.ZIP ORA)
for Linux? I see information on Solaris and NT but not Linux.
- Server name
- Filename
- Date/Time
- Browser + Version
- O/S + Version
- Error Msg

if you have oracle 8i server you will find the classes12.zip(thin jdbc drivers )in the [ORAHOME]/jdbc/lib directory. You have to added the zip to the classpath in the jserv.properties file eg. wrapper.classpath=D:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip(if you orahome is D:\oracle\ora81.)
otherwise for just using the java classes for compiling and running in the consile you have to set the classpath of classes12.zip in your system environment.
