Odd question about a replacement keyboard for HP pavilion G71326DX

I have a G7 1326DX that needs a replacement keyboard. However A frind of mine recently purchased a G72233cl and I noticed that the keyboards were basically the same, however his had a design that I like much better (Key types). My question is, Can I purchase a Replacement keyboard for the G72233cl and install that keyboard into my G71326DX. I have looked into the connection interface, as well as lined up the notches around the edges of the keyboard with pictures of the replacement keyboards, However I want to make sure it will work correctly before I make my Purchase. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello MPnarnell,
The keyboard on your G7-1326dx needs to be replaced, but you want to use a keyboard for a G7-2233cl, is that correct? I will try to help you .
Comparing the keyboard section of the manuals the part number for the keyboard you want to you use doesn’t show in the G7-1326dx list of compatible keyboards. The reason being probably is because it has never been fully tested.
Now both computers are G7’s but they are 2 totally different series of G7’s so the motherboards are probably different as well. This is one of those issues where you would have to  test it out and see, I don’t believe it will work but I could be wrong. Here is the part number for the keyboard that came on the G7-2233cl. (699146-001)
If you decided to go ahead and try to change it be sure to check for a BIOS update before doing so.
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.

Question about lead in music for podcasting.
I listen to many other podcasts and there are those which play lead in music with bit of music inside their podcast. The music are songs we all know and enjoy. I have notice that they only play short small clips of these songs and are not royalty free songs.
My Question would be is there a limit of time which you can play any song with out paying for it and use it in a podcast legally.
    Thanks Mike

Legally you cannot use copyright music without written permission or a licence from a recognized authority, no matter how short the clip. Many people do this and get away with it (and for full tracks too) and it's debatable how much notice anyone is likely to take, or whether they would be bothered about a short clip. But the legal position is, it's not legal.

IBM indicates your part numbers could be this: 39T7353 or this: 39T7417 if you have a laptop designed for English in the USA.
Try these people: http://www.acsparts.com/contact_us.asp   Do check your machine first (remove the keyboard & look at its exact part number).  They can order things they don't have in stock from the warehouse.  I bought a replacement keyboard for my 3000 N200 from them a few months ago, it was an exact replacement.

  • How do you install a replacement keyboard for the laptop????

I can't find any instructions for installing a replacement keyboard for my PowerBook G4 1.33 Ghz. The instructions on the Apple website are for the 1 Ghz model and there is this slot thingy to the left of the NUM LOCK key. There is no such slot on mine so I have no clue how to install. And the replacement keyboard didn't come with instructions either. It seems that the entire case is one piece and the keyboard is embedded within. I tried pulling it up but I don't want to break it.
HELP. I have no key cap for L or F7 and C is on it's way out and I'm on deadline. Of course, it's Saturday as well.

Try the service manual which you can find here:

  • Does anyone know where I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005

Does anyone know where in the UK or Ireland I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005. Running Mac OSX 10.4.1.1?

Not sure where in Ireland to look, but be aware that SOME Apple Aluminum boards will work with 10.4.11. The first Al boards and those through the first few months of 2011 were compatible with any Mac running OS 10.4.11 and having USB ports. Then they changed them to require 10.6.8 for full function.
The ones compatible with 10.4.11 (MB110LL/A) have the icon for Dashboard on the F4 key; the later ones (MB110LL/B) have an icon consisting of six tiny rectangles grouped to form a larger rectangle. The keyboard boxes are nearly identical except for:
the system requirements printed on the front panel
the back panel on the first model reads "Keyboard" where the newer model reads "Keyboard with Numeric Keypad."

  • Replacement keyboard for model 2000-104CA??

    Hello all,
I need to replace the keyboard on:
    The model is: 2000-104CA
    Product: LV987UA#ABC
    Rev. : 3577-100
#1. Can someone please tell me what the keyboard part # is?
#2. I tried removing the keyboard (after the fact) and the video instructions, located here: http://h20574.www2.hp.com/results.htm?SID=5059088&MEID=FAA31BDC-56B6-472D-BA7B-4295B0216628 seem incorrect.
The instructions state to remove 1 5mm P1 screw, then press down with a probe tool in the hole indicated. All I ended up doing with pushing out the "insert" key. I can slightly lift that top side of the keyboard but there is definitely something locking down the keyboard around speaker mute/speaker + function keys.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you

can anyone recommend a vendor for a replacement keyboard for a dv6000 laptop with exact same tactile feel as the original?
some of the aftermarket ones i've ordered and installed work perfectly but have different finger feel than the original. i prefer the feel of the original keyboard when i touchtype.
    many thanks.
by way of additional info, the original keyboard is numbered AEAT1UO0110. i think this is the number unique to this exact keyboard. which is different than keyboard which fit perfectly but feel differently.

  • Replacement keyboard for dv7-3183cl

I'm looking for a replacement keyboard for my DV7-3183cl, a backlit keyboard would be great but an original replacement would be satisfactory. Thanks.

    Hi,
Firstly you can not connect a backlit keyboard to your computer without replacing the motherboad. You need somewhere to plug a bunch of lights. For normal keyboard, you can order from the following link:

  • Trying to replace the Keyboard for HP Pavilion DV7-3180us. Need part number & compatible parts.

I have a HP Pavilion DV7-3180us laptop.  I have to replace the Keyboard because I have about 7 missing keys.  I have been looking for a good replacement but I want to ensure that I am getting the lowest price and the correct part.   I don't have a lot to spend on it but it looks cheaper or about the same price, to buy the whole keyboard rather than the seperate keys.  Is this keyboard compatible with other keyboards?  This would give me more options to find one in stock and a reasonable price.  Also, need a new AC Adapter charger.  I have seen it listed with 3 different watts 65w, 90w, & 120w.  Is this accurate?  I find the parts listed under my computer manufacturer number but I am skeptical that it is correct.  I have seen some reviews where people say that the keyboard replacement listed for DV7-3180us did not fit.  Anyone with any help to make this easier I would very much appreciate.  Thanks.

    Hi:
My advice is to read chapter 3 of the dv7 service manual below, and cross reference the part numbers or only buy the parts you need with the HP part numbers.

    Hi,
The guy in this video does it in the first two minutes then he continues to disassemble his G60 notebook . It would be wise to remove the battery first. It can be done with shoes on.

  • Replacement keyboard for dv2620ca

    Hi all,
    I'm wondering if there's a different replacement keyboard I can get for a dv2620ca.
I'm trying to find one, but it seems the only dv2620ca ones I can get are very expensive and expensive shipping. I don't need the french keys on it, so would any dv2500 keyboard work? Or do they have to be specific?
Any help is appreciated so I can get this laptop working again.

I am not sure what you think is expensive, but eBay is usually your best bet. Some ship from Canada for free and are US layout (check the first page)
The keyboard comes out easily so it's not difficult to check if the one form the dv2500 will work (and it should).
Remove the battery and there will be three screws with small keyboard icons beside them.
Lift the back edge of the keyboard out and slid it back towards the screen.
Be careful when unlocking the tab on the ZIF connector that holds the ribbon cable into the mother board.
If you break the connector on the MoBo you will condemn the laptop and a new MoBo will be needed.

Here is link to the HP Media Libray, there are no videos for the 2600 series, but only for the 2500, so it should be the same.
When you look at the video on how to remove the keyboard it should look like yours.
Post again if you need help with the library.
