OEM Provisioning Directives

I am attempting to run an "out-of-the-box" deployment procedure to apply a one-off patch to two RAC nodes in parallel.
The procedure errors and stops on the step, "Stop RAC Instances," which is calling the directive, 'Directives/Oracle Directives/Common/RAC/All/Generic/Shut Down Database.
Theerror received is below:
Failed - Error evaluating expression ${target.nodeName} for parameter Directive.NAME_CmdLineVars.node.
I am not sure from where and how OEM is setting values for target.nodeName, or why it is failing to evaluate the expression.
Below is the section of the OMS log that pertains to this failure.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
J

We are planning to use Oracle 10g's provisioning option to test for installation of some softwares onto the client machines on the network from a centralized server, or unzipping some of the files on the client machines to start off from the lower level and use the same for higher end application level.
Has some one have a prior experience on the same or any inputs towards this would help us.

  • OEM does not start up

    Hi there,
I have a strange behaviour of OEM, It doen not even start, I have a message saying: fatal error, registry problem.
I tried to re-install the product (coming with IDS, Oracle8i Entreprise Edition Release 3 (8.1.7)), the same problem occurs again.
I understand that there is some pb with the registries, but I could not fix it.
    Help please
    Thanks in advance

Okay, I've done some more investigation.
I logged into sqlplus as SYS AS SYSDBA
Tried to connect to SYSMAN but the system responded with a message that the account is locked and then it disconnected my session.
Connected back to the database via the command: CONNECT SYS AS SYSDBA
Entered the password and connected successfully
    Unlocked the SYSMAN account via the command: ALTER USER SYSMAN ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
Connected to the database successfully as SYSMAN
Tried to open OEM: Opened directly to the Status display with out opening the login page
Went back to sqlplus and tried connection as SYSMAN but the system said the account was locked
Trace file emoms.trc also says the account is locked.
So it does look like the attempt to open the OEM, or something else, is locking the sysman account

  • Mail notification set up in OEM

    hi
    can any one help
i am trying to make set up the mail notification in oracle enterprsie manager
but i am getting the following error
EXVMBX003-4.exch003intermedia.net: Test failed with message: "Could not connect to SMTP host: EXVMBX003-4.exch003intermedia.net, port: 25; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect"
can any one explain what steps i need to do in my exchange outlook to avoid that error.

According to the error message your SMTP host doesn't allow you to connect.
This can either mean the host is not running on port 25, or you need to have your firewall opened.
As such the message has nothing to do with OEM.
You are advised to read error messages carefully, in order to avoid unnecessary questions. The problem is quite obvious, and has nothing to with Oracle.
Also, OEM communicates directly with SMTP and in the past Exchange didn't support SMTP.

  • Submitting job in OEM

    Hi,
When I am submit job from OEM it directly moves to History
section and displays the status "Failed".
If I do not use the parameter 'job_queue_processes' the
submitted jobs are directly move to active section. But they are

    hello
here are some steps if u want to run a job in console for
    Oracle8.1.7 on Windows2000
    1 Set The KEY
set the registry value OSAUTH_PREFIX_DOMAIN in
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOMEID to FALSE.
If there is no specified key there, create one.
2 . Using Oracle Administration Assistant for Windows NT
Use this tool to add a user on machine which u’ll login
as when doing any job like backup, exp, imp.(i've used internal)
now u’ll login as internal on windows .
    3. GIVE RIGHT – Logon as a Batch Job
To give the windows user the right – logon as a batch job ,
    use control panel->administrative tools->local security
Now, the internal user must be given the right specified.
    4. Set Preferred Credentials
Set the preferred credentials in the Console for
the node as with any user with sysdba privileges like
internal/oracle.(when u've given internal the logon as a batch
    job
set preferred credentials to internal .
    5. Log in as internal on windows and take backup.
for backup,u need internal as either backup operator
    or administrator
    still if u've some problem,
    mail me at [email protected]

  • What if Terminated

    Dear All
Can anyone help me in explaining how to set up the functionality What if I terminate in employee self-service.
In vision instance by default it is there, but in our insatnce it is not there. Do we need to do any setup for this?
Is there any provision in employee self service for loan request and letter request?
    Thanks & regards
    Nakshathra

The What If functionality is intended to show the user the effects on compensation, particularly benefits, if the person is terminated (or if any other transactions happen). If you are rolling out basic Self Service with no complex compensation setup behind the scenes, it is unlikely that you'll use this feature and will wish to hide it.
There is no letter request provision directly in Self Service but you can configure certain Applicant statusses to trigger letters. It depends on your precise requirements.
Again, loan request is not supported but these sort of requirements are usually handled via a combination of SSHR EIT/SIT and AME.

  • How do I buy a licence and download or media for Windows 7 Professional Upgrade?

I have found a download source at http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/
Is this a legitimate source? And will the download work as an upgrade or a full version. And where to I buy product keys. I have a number of small business and private clients and volume licences don't seem to be appropriate for licensing individual computers.

I'd suggest Amazon but be sure to read the entire sale. You can verify if it something direct from MS or from a 3rd party vendor, OEM or direct, whether or not it is an upgrade or full version and in some cases if unopened you can return it if it was the
    wrong product.

  • OIM 11gR2 Approval workflow not getting triggered

I created an approval workflow by following the 11gR2 developer's guide and deployed it. then created an app instance and also an approval policy for operational level which is auto approved and for request level with this composite. when i raise a request for this app instance in the catalog the SOA composite is not getting triggered. I am able to see a task in pending approval of system admin whenever i raise request for any user and if i complete that pending approval the app gets provisioned directly. Also i do not see any request ID also. please help to find out whats going wrong

Now i tried raising a request from another user who is not a member of SYSADMIN role. This time the request id is generated and a task 'Manual Task for Provision operation for Beneficiary X' is generated in pending approvals of xelsysadm user. When completed the app instance gets provisioned. So this means operational level approval task is triggered? and it has auto-provisioning?
why my custom approval workflow is not getting triggered?
I have created 2 approval policies, one for request level which is auto approval and other for operational level where i have selected the deployed composite name.In both the approval policies i have selected the request type as Provision ApplicationInstance. There is no error also while deploying the composite. Am i missing any step? please help.

  • OIM 11g:  Connector based on SEND / EXPECT or scripting

    Hello
I have a system that I need to integrate into OIM 11g. (11.1.1.5.2) The application has a scripting engine to perform all user management functions. For example, on the system itself you would run the following from the command line:
    account create 'bsmith'
    account password 'password'
    account permission 'login'
    account group default 'enduser'
    account description 'Bob Smith'
    account firstname 'Bob'
    account lastname 'Smith'
The account repository is a custom format, and I cannot provisioning directly to it via the DB tables, or flat file etc etc. The system, however, is running on a standard UNIX platform, so I have access to SSH into the box and issue the commands.
Question: What is the best way to implement a connector to an application that only uses a scripting engine for account management? Is there an OOTB connector that can use UNIX send/expect? What about executing a shell script with inputs for the variables needed? Can I use the standard SSH connector, and override the 'user add' command?
    Thank you.

  • AutoProvisioning in AE 5.2

    Hi,
We are implementing Access Enforcer and everything is fine except autoprovisionning.
Initiator, Stages and Path are ok. Clicking on the approve button make the following error appear:
Error in Provisioning your request, Request no: 12 error details :
    E25-TEST3-USER CREATE- Invalid Central system.
We probably miss something to configure. I was looking for a "how to" but did not find anything.
Thank you in advance for your help,
    Julien

If I configure CUA in AE does the AE Connector name for a Child system under CUA have to be the same as the child system name indicated in the CUA?
If I make the AE Connector name the same as the Child System name in CUA, I am unable to perform Risk analysis by connecting to CC (error= Invalid System) as the Connector in the CC has the SID and not the Child System name.
Also is there a Job that will help synch up the Child System (User-Role assignment details) to the CUA; I am able to provision directly into the Child system without the CUA by using the Connector name as the SID but will have to reconcile the access in CUA.
    Any information is greatly appreciated.

  • Hyperion Security User Group

    Hello,
We are looking for a "user group" which consists of people who have a lot of experience in the area of application security for the Hyperion applications (HFM, Essbase primarily).  If you have some suggestions, please share.  Thank you for your consideration.
    Peace,
    John Klaassen

Hi, mainly Interactive Users=Planners+form design option. So if they don't have to create/change data foms Planners role is guite enough.
According to your description you should provision Planners role to All Group and read/write access to scenario.
You can asign specific access rights or additional provisioning directly to individual group if needed. It's up to your business requirments
For detailed role description see also http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hss_admin_1112200/ch10s04s05.html

  • OpenSSO Enterprise Login Module for IDM 7.1

I have a fully configured OpenSSO Enterprise environment running on Glassfish v2.1 and am trying to implement SSO into an IDM 7.1 environment that is also running on a Glassfish 2.1 server with a centrally managed v3.0 policy agent.
While working my way through the "Integration Guide" for IDM and OpenSSO I've come to the step where I am to change the Identity Manager Login Module Groups. We are not provisioning directly from IDM to OpenSSO but rather to the LDAP that OpenSSO authenticates with so I have not configured the OpenSSO resource adapter.
When I get to Assigning the Login Module I initially did not have the Sun OpenSSO Realm Login Module so i want back and added a custom resource called: com.waveset.adapter.SunAccessManagerRealmResourceAdapter which was available because I had put the openssoclientsdk.jar in the idm/WEB-INF/lib folder and added that to the class suffix in the JVM settings.
The Realm resource adapter appears to work as I can create a new instance and am prompted for the correct fields.
When i go back to assign the Login Module I now get a Sun Access Manager Realm Adapter in the dropdown box but cannot select it.
The question is, where do I get the custom login module that will allow IDM 7.1 to work with OpenSSO Enterprise?
    Thanks, Craig

    Hi ,
I am a colleague of Peter, just to straighten out our problem.
Our custom login module extends AMLoginModule and when the Access Manager instantiates the object it calls the method defined in AMLoginModule :
    " public Callback[] getCallback(int index) "
This method contains a call to "AMModuleProperties.getModuleProperties(fileName);"
Our problem is, das the method is already called with filename being null, which is the cause for the Exception to be thrown.
So could anybody give us a hint what filename is supposed to be at this point? As it seems that Access Manager is lacking a property which it normally would associate with filename.
My first guess was that it is looking for <moduleName>.xml, but this file is properly located in "/etc/opt/SUNWam/config/xml" and accessible.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you in advance!

  • OIM and disabled objects

when a disabled user is re-enabled in OIM , it automatically re-enables all the users disabled objects . is there any way to customize or turn off this behaviour . i would like the reneabled users to get his resource objects freshly provisioned

Do you intend to provision multiple instances of the same resource to the user?
What I mean is, when you disable the user, all the resources get disabled. While when you re-enable it, if you re-provision the resources, users would have 2 resources one which is disabled and other which is provisioned. We had a similar requirement and in our case we Revoked the resources when the user was disabled and users would re-request for those resources once user is re-enabled.
Additionally, if you want multiple instances of the same resource to the user with multiple instances in the disabled state (number of times you disable the user) and one in provisioned, you need to modify the Enable User task not to e-enable anything. In the same time you need to have a custom code which raises a request to provision the user with the resource (if you have approval) or provision directly.
    Hope it helps!
    Rgds, Ajay

  • Validation of deprovisioned user

    Gurus,
I have deprovisioned a user in shared services, and I have also got him out from all the groups in HSS. Morevoer, where he has dimension level security, I have taken him out of it too. What is the process to validate that the user is not there any more. Is there any script that we can run or any other process to verify that the user is not there any more.

You could just search for the user in Shared Services, if you want to see if there is any provisioning directly against the user just select provision, if you want to see if see the user belongs to any groups select properties and then "member of".
If there is no provisioning directly against the user and it doesn't belong to any groups then it should have been fully deprovisioned.
You could see if generating a provisioning report in Shared Services against the user helps, right click the user > provisioning report.
    Cheers
