What if Terminated

Dear All
Can anyone help me in explaining how to set up the functionality What if I terminate in employee self-service.
In vision instance by default it is there, but in our insatnce it is not there. Do we need to do any setup for this?
Is there any provision in employee self service for loan request and letter request?
Thanks & regards
Nakshathra

The What If functionality is intended to show the user the effects on compensation, particularly benefits, if the person is terminated (or if any other transactions happen). If you are rolling out basic Self Service with no complex compensation setup behind the scenes, it is unlikely that you'll use this feature and will wish to hide it.
There is no letter request provision directly in Self Service but you can configure certain Applicant statusses to trigger letters. It depends on your precise requirements.
Again, loan request is not supported but these sort of requirements are usually handled via a combination of SSHR EIT/SIT and AME.

    "What is Terminal and Bash?"
Terminal is an application allowing access to the Mac's UNIX-based sub-system. If you like another operating system ticking away beneath OS X's shiny GUI. BASH (Bourne Again Shell) is one of many command line interpreters for that sub-system.
". . . why does this show in my Dock"
Either because you put it there or you launched the application.

Just drag it off the Dock and it will go "poof"
Look at the Options... when you click on it. Unless it got set to stay there, something you did or an app did caused it to be open.
Are there any windows open attached to it?
Is it set to "open on login"?
I use it but I do not have it or keep it on my Dock. It is found in /Applications/Utilities and installers may need to use it.

  • What is terminal all about?

I have a q ,what is terminal all about? I think that for every possiible job, there are gui-applications,I mean really for everything.. can you tell me one usefull thing that requires the use of terminal? I mean what work can be done with it? I'm not talking about issuing several commands and see the network or processor workings, that's ok , but for what else can be used terminal? obviously it is not suitable for programming or text-editing.. what can be done better with terminal and terminal like programs, that can't be done with gui-applications? why on movies and such, computer gurus are always working in black screen and letters only environment?? what are they doing?

Really? That is the absolute best use for the Terminal. I always start programming from a Terminal window.

That's just movies and, personally, I prefer a black-on-white traditional page background that is more common on Macs. Even if I'm working on Linux, another savvy programmer could probably tell I am a Mac person at heart just by looking at my terminal windows.
The easiest answer is that the Terminal, or, rather, command-line applications narrow your input to one path, the standard input, and your output to two paths, standard output and standard error. That is extraordinarily helpful because it reduces the problem space and allows you to focus. In fact, just having two output paths (one for regular output and one for errors, is actually quite a hassle).
Using these standard pipes, I can sting multiple programs together and have them work together to do very complicated things. In a GUI environment, you would need one GUI program that can do everything, which really doesn't exist. Plus, in the command line world, one data stream is the same as the next, no matter where it comes from. I can write a command line program that reads data from standard input and you can just type input into it. You could also send a file into it. You could also hook it up to a stream of network data. If you really want, you can even write a fancy GUI that sends data to it. The user on the other end will never know the difference.

  • What causes Terminal beep delay?

Sometimes in the Terminal, when I hit backspace when nothing is typed, it takes a second before it beeps. I know this is a weird question, but what determines when it does? Is there any pattern?

    Hi-
I think it's just a matter of the Mac needing to load the beep sound and set up the audio hardware to make it beep. I bet if start paying attention, you'll find that the delay is the first time it beeps after you start Terminal, or after it's been sitting without activity for a long time.

  • What is Termination Date and Time?

I found in most of the LO cockpit datasources that the initialization programs have this parameter in the init package definition an benfore run the initialization program is necesary to setup a date in the future...
Does anybody could tell me what utility has this paratemer?
I hope somebody could help me with this...
    Regards

Termination date & time are the parameters you see when you try to fill up the setup tables .
Once you mentioned selection parameters like document number range , posting date range etc, after that you need to provide a name for this setup run & Termination date & time . This date & time is the date & time  till which your setup job (preferably background )will remain active in R/3 system . Once it will exceed theat time & date , the job will automatically get terminated
    Hope this helps

  • What is a terminal window and how do I get to one?

I basically downloaded a Httpmail plug-in for Apple Mail and want to uninstall it. I have found how to do it but I don't what a terminal window is to do what I need to do. Could you tell me how to find one.

The Terminal window will give you access to the Unix command line so that, if you so desire, you can run commands directly from there.
B E C A R E F U L. With Administrator privileges, you can do harm if you are not sure what you are doing.
I take it from your first message that the unistall process for some software requires you to use the command line. Read the instructions carefully and type exactly what you are given: if possible, copy and paste into Terminal.
If you need to have Root privilieges (see what the instructions say), you would type sudo first, then a space before the command. If you uses sudo, you will be asked for an Admin password (and a small lecture will appear onscreen -- normal, do not worry).
If you have any more questions, do ask.

What are the early termination fees?  I have a total of 5 lines 2 are out of contract 3 will be out of contract june 2015.  AT&T has offered me unlimited txt talk and 30 gb of shared data as well as 5 new iphone 6's for a grand total of $205 a month!!! plyus tax of course and that price is locked in no contract either.  i may have to switch carriers my bill now is almost 300 a month with only 2 iphones and 3 basic phones.  just dont know what those termination fees would be.

Assuming the 3 line are smartphones the ETF would be $600 total. Basic phones would be $300.  An sorry you were lied to by at&t. That's price is not taking into account the cost of the phones.
    30 GB $130
    5 Line $15 each=$75
    total $205
However you also have to pay for the phones. Assuming the cheapest iPhone 6 and assuming you chose the 24 month payment plan that's another $135 a month. So $340 total. And you'll have to pay the sales tax on those phones upfront or on your first bill. What the sales tax on $3250 in your area?

  • Option-Tab in Terminal - what does it do?

I accidentally pressed Option-Tab while in the terminal and got the cryptic prompt:
    Display all 1479 possibilities? (y or n)
I hit "n" but later decided to hit "y" and I get a list of something, which includes such curious items as RezWack and mongrel_rails (yes I know what they are). Is this simply a list of all the available commands?
    Is this documented?

As "Cole Tierney" said, it is just the shell command completion action.
Option-Tab is being seen as just Tab.
If you want to see what the Terminal sees when you type a key, you can use
    cat -vt
When I do this, I get the same value with Tab and Option-Tab

  • [Solved] Cannot "su" properly in a terminal due to a .bashrc error

The problem is simple:  I cannot su to my root account properly.  I can do so successfully in that I can become "root" but I get no output on the screen after typing in a command.  E.g., this is what my terminal shows after su'ing to root and typing the "ls" command:
    : ~ : su
    Password:
    :root:~: ls -a
    :root:~:
Even trying to bring up a nano window gives the same result:
    :root:~: nano .bashrc
    :root:~:
I get this behaviour in RoxTerm but in Xfce-Terminal I get this error instead:
    : ~ : su
    Password:
-bash: printf: write error: Broken pipe
    Broken pipe (core dumped)
    : ~ :
I have received the same error in the past in RoxTerm but it seems to have gone away today.  I did Google that error but I found nothing that seemed to point to a solution for this issue.  And, after a lot of experimentation and troubleshooting, I've narrowed down my issue to an error in my .bashrc file.  However, despite combing through it several times, and finding other errors, I still can't locate what is causing this issue.

Thank you very much for the response Jason and I am sorry for the late reply but as usual life got in the way.
I ended up doing some more experimentation and I did fix the bug you pointed out.  When this didn't solve the problem I started to look at other files.  It turned out that my .bash_aliases file was the real culprit.  The offending line was:
    alias su='su -l | cd ~/' # invokes a login shell then changes to root's home directory
I fixed the issue by changing that line to read:
alias su='su -l ' # invokes a login shell then changes to root's home directory
As always thank you for the help,

  • Property node or what else ?

    Hi,
I want to built a VI that function similar to the Terminal in the Telnet Line Client.vi (in Telnet Toolkit).  I try to learn from the example, but could not figure out what the "Terminal" showed below is.  The 1st picture in the attachment is the property node, but I don't know how it is related to the 2nd picture.  Could not find any help on it, and don't even know what it called  Any idea is appreciate!

    Hi Anh,
The second "thing" in your picture is a local variable.
With a property node, you can access not only the value of the pointed variable ("terminal" in that case) but all its attributes, such as size, position, color, visible or not and many interesting things ; some attributes are read only and some at reable and writtable.
With a local variable, you can only access (in read or write mode) the value of the pointed variable.
To create a local variable, right click on your variable, go to "create" >> "local variable"

Hi again Robert! Glad you found your way here.
It could be that step 8: sudo pico /etc/httpd/httpd.conf, is the cause of your problem. Did you save the original file first? Is there a backup file in that directory (either httpd.conf~ or httpd.conf.bak)?
Do you have a httpd.conf.default in there? I do, but may have created it myself.
Also, step 4 created a background process that may still be running. I don't know how that would affect things. Maybe someone with MySQL knowledge can chip in.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll find an answer now you're posting in the right place

  • Terminal command to restart Samba?

Anyone know what the terminal command is to restart Samba under OS X 10.5.4?
I've searched all over and can't seem to find the answer to this question. I've tried...
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb restart
    Not valid under OS X
    sudo killall -HUP smbd
Not sure if this is working as I get no indication from the terminal that anything has actually happened.
    Thank You

  • Execute command in terminal with command?

What in terminal would I have to type to open another terminal with a command? I want to have something that can control my alsa levels in my openbox menu.
Oh and just a side question, what happened to weatherget? Pacman says the package doesn't exist. Is it in the AUR or am I just using the wrong package name?

    Thanks that worked.
The python script however doesn't support my weather code ((CXTO)It's out of range).
Anyone know one that does support Canada so I don't have to a bunch of them?
