Offcut generated in metal sheet  shearing operation

Dear PP Gurus,
Pl help me for following issue.
The requirement of my Client is as follows
They are producing sheet metal components from raw sheet material like plate etc in Press shop.
When one component get generated after press shearing operation remaining sheet is called as offcut.
Now customer requirement is,
Offcut, which is generated during sheet metal shearing operation, should be identified separately with its dimensions and it will be shown on system .
So that for better utilization of raw material these offcut can be used to produce another part.
Currently they are producing large variety of components so offcut generation is in large quantity.
We are suggesting them as Offcut are marked as by-product in BOM with u2013ve sign and quantity. At the time of confirmation this offcut quantity has to be posted to respective storage location.
But they want each offcut as a separate identified material with its dimension.
Pl help me for the same.
Thanks in Advance,
Umesh

Hi,
There is no provision in SAP. You need to handle as a by product only.

  • Reg:s Metal sheet cutting process

    Dear experts,
I need you expertise ideas on this requirement.
In one of the manufacturing plant,we have one cutting machine, on this cutting machine a metal sheet is cut into different parts. These parts are semifinished parts.
In one sheet I may recieve more than 10 to 15 different part numbers and these are semifinished. And here we dont have a fixed BOM, everytime the number of parts and shapes cut in the sheet varies.i have more than 150 semifinshed part numbers which I recieve from sheet.
How to map this scenario in sap..? Based on the nesting dobe by CNC operating person I cannot create BOM.if I mainrain standard BOM, how to proceed in this kind of scenario.
Any cutom transaction can be developed to achieve this cutting process.
    Waiting for your valuable inputs.
    Thans in advance...

    Hello
I suggest you to consider the implementation of the Mill Products (DIMP) industry solution.
There is a solution specific for this issue, called "multi item order", where you can have several finished products generated by the same order.
You can find more information on the following link:

  • Calculate depreciation and generate Assets History Sheet / system currency?

Hi, I want to know if I can calculate the depreciation and generate Assets History Sheet in system currency which is different of local currency. in fact the amount of depreciation calculated in TND and converted in euro is different of the amount calculate directly in euro.
    Example:
    01/01/2009 (rate EURO/TND = 1,27 )
    Acquisition cost: 1000 euro = 1270 TND
    Percentage of depreciation   10%
If I calculate the depreciation in TND and convert it in euro the amount is equal to 1270*10%/1,7(rate EURO/TND at 31/12/2009)= 74 euro
otherwise if I calculate the depreciation directly in euro the amount is equal to 1000 *10%=100 euro
    Thanks.

    Hi Mohamed,
If the asset is acquired with foreign currency, it will be booked with both local and foreign currency in accounting, but the asset values and depreciation will be always converted and calculated with local currency.
How ever per your scenario, you can implement the report this way:
1.You can get the planed and posted deprecaiotn value in local currency (TND) by depreciation area, period and asset number in table @BA_ODPV
      - Depr value for 2009 = 1270 * 10% = 127 TND
      - Depr value per month = 127 / 12 = 10.58 TND
2.Convert the depreciation value into sysetm currency (EURO) with the exchange rate on acuqistion day (01/01/2009 (rate EURO/TND = 1,27 )), thus you need to retrieve the exchange rate on 01/01/2009 from table ORTT
      - Depr value for 2009 = 127 TND, you can easily get this with SQL
      - Depr value for 2009 = 127 / 1.27 EURO = 100 EURO  (01/01/2009 (rate EURO/TND = 1,27)
SQL for report (You may set the ratedate and fiscal year as parameter):
--Retrieve the exchange rate from ORTT by date and currency
    declare @rate as float
select @rate = Rate from ortt where RateDate = convert(datetime,'20090101',112) and Currency = 'USD'
--Sum up the depreciation value grouped by asset number and filerd with fiscal year and depreciaiton area
--Report: Asset Numer, Fiscal Year, Planed Depr., Posted Depr.
select U_AsstNum as 'Asset Number',U_FisYear as 'Fiscal Year',sum(U_OrDpPlan)/@rate as 'Planed Depr.', sum(U_OrDpAct)/@rate as 'Posted Depr.' from [@ba_odpv]
    where U_FisYear = '2009' and U_DprArID = 100
    group by U_AsstNum,U_FisYear
    3.Display the report with PLD
    Hope it helps. Thanks.

  • AP54G generates a strange noise while operating

    Hello guys!
Is that normal, that my MSI AP54G Access Point generates a silent, strange noise (like a TV when there's no signal), while it is operating? I noticed it one or two days ago and I don't know, whether it is a normal thing or not. Ummm... I think, I have to tell you, that some days ago I dropped the AP (accidentally) from about one meter high... so I think that can be the reason why the AP emits such a strange noise. Anyway, it is operating perfectly, it has a very strong and stable signal and I'm fully satisfied with it, but I'm afraid, that this noise could cause some trouble in the future, for example burn down the AP or even explode it?
    Thanks for your help!
    Greetings:
    Gery

    Thanks... you are very helpful...
Don't you guys use this AP? I'm the only one, who uses it? Well, I think not.
And what about you guys working for MSI?? You don't read the forum of your own company??

  • SQL being generated improperly - JDBC bc - poll operation

Does anyone have the JDBC binding component's "poll" operation working correctly, using the "MarkColumn" option for the PollingPostProcess attribute? If so, could you share your experiences in setting it up? Does the "marked column" in the database need to be a specific type or have certain rules?
Any info would be very much appreciated.

Well, for starters, your code isn't really creating an excel sheet because a) it isn't an excel file extension and b) the format in which you are writing the data is a simple flat file, nothing more. It could just as easily be viewed in notepad.
You have to decide what format you want to write your data to the file in.
If you want a CSV file (which excel as well as other applications can read) then you need to output your data with comma's between each column and a seperate line for each row. If you want to just output the data to a text file then you just output it as you want it.
Both CSV and text files do not contain formatting of any sort so you can't include any Bold/Italics/Colours etc. If you want such formatting then you are going to have to write out your file in a different format altogether, such as MS Office XML format... take a look at this post for further info...

    Hi,
What is the easiest way to generate an .xls report from oracle i.e. when the user for example views some records in an oracle table using SQL_FORMS I want to then give them a button where they get a simple .xls report of the records in the table.
I have heard 'ole' method is one way, is that the best method and how is it done exactly...?

For question 1: Please stick to the original thread. You've already received numerous responses. If they are not adequate, please indicate what is not adequate in that thread, rather than making people rehash the same answers.
For question 2: This makes no sense. What script file are you talking about, and why would you want to store it "like a labview (sic) file"?

  • Generating Excell Sheet using Reports 9i

    Hello,
I wanna know how can I do to generate one excell sheet using reports, without
use the option that4s generate text file using tab. I wanna know if someone have
    example codes, or library4s.
    Thanks,
    Paulo Sergio

Here are some notes we created from the demo below. This works great for generating true formated excel output in 9i Reports using 9ias Rel2.
    Notes from
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/demonstrations/index.html
Output to Excel with Oracle9i Report
    1.     Create an Excel template for the report. It should contain generic information such as title, logo and column headers
    2.     Cretae a sample line of data in the spreadsheet
    3.     Save the Excel spreadsheet as a Web page. File | Save As Web Page
    4.     Open the Web page you just created in Reports Builder
    5.     Double-click on Web Source node to display the HTML code for the Excel spreadsheet
    6.     Note how Excel generated HTML and XML code for the spreadsheet you created. Reports Builder also adds its own JSP tags
    7.     Add the Data Source An SQL Query
    8.     Modify the Web Source. Now that youve written the query, you can modify the Web source to tell Reports Builder to display your report in Excel.
    9.     Click on the Web Source icon in the toolbar.
    10.     To force the browser to open MS Excel it is necessary to change the HTTP Content Type to a specific MIME Type:
    application/vnd.ms-excel
Insert the following line immediately before the <rw:report id=report> tag
              <%@ page contentType=application/vnd.ms-excel %>
(This is a standard JSP directive to set a MIME Type (Content Type) )
    11.     To respect Excel format, you should delete the blank lines above the <html> tag.
    12.     Now, use Oracle 9i Reports JSP tags to add the data retrieved by your SQL Query to the report.
    13.     Search for the sample line of data you added to your Excel spreadsheet
    14.     Each line is saved as an HTML Table Row tag ( <tr> ).
    15.     Each column is mapped as an HTML Table Data tag ( <td> ).
    16.     Using Reports JSP Tags, add a Reports repeating frame tag to loop around the Data Model group.
    17.     To help, show the Object navigator next to the Web Source Window. All group information is now visible in the Object Navigator
    18.     Enclose the sample line of code in the Web source with the Reports9i JSP repeating tag.
Use from menu Insert | Repeating Frame at beginning of sample
Move the closing repeating tag after the </tr> tag.
Start of the repeating tag would be
    <rw:foreach id=foreach src=>
Ending of the repeating frame would be
    </rw:foreach>
    19.     In the opening of the repeating tag (<for each>), add the name of the group the tags enclose. JSP custom tags require a unique identifier.
    For example: <rw:foreach id=gEmpNoId src=G_EMPNO>
    20.     Now, map the cells of the Excel spreadsheet to the corresponding field from your data model.
Select on the data value. From menu select Insert | Field. The source of the tag is the name of the field in the query.
    21.     Repeat the operation for each field of the report. Note: do not forget to specify a unique identifier for each field.
    22.     The code now contains a repeating frame. You have also mapped each cell in the Excel spreadsheet to the corresponding field in the data model
    23.     Save the report as a Reports JSP. You can test the report using the Run Web Layout icon in the toolbar
    24.     The execution of a Web Layout report from Reports Builder creates a temporary HTML file and launches the browser. The browser does not launch Excel because the document is saved as an HTML file. To launch Excel from the browser you need to test it from Reports Server.
    25.     In order to have the report appear inside Excel, you need to execute it with the Reports Server under OC4J. To do this you need to:
First, start an OC4J instance from Oracle 9iDS see How to Execute Reports Services from Oracle 9iDS on OTN. Then, copy the JSP to a directory. For example: $IDS_HOME/reports/j2ee/reports_ids/web/test
    26.     Enter the URL to execute the jsp. The JSP is executed from an OC4J instance.
    http://reports9iTestServer:8888/reports/test/ListOfEmployees.jsp?userid=scott/tiger@ora901
    27. The browser launches Microsoft Excel and displays the data from your report.

  • Generating code in OWB mapping for valid operating modes

    Hi all,
When i generate the map in OWB it will generate a code in default operating mode. But it's written in OWB documents that During code generation, Warehouse Builder generates code for the specified default operating mode as well as the unselected modes.
Can i find the generating code for the unselected modes? If possible then how can i find? Plzz help.
    Regards,
    Sumanta

    Hi Sumanta.
If my understanding is right than you are looking for a error handling feature in OWB. Well in such case you need to look at the concept of Shadow Tables in OWB. TO know more about the fucnctionality of shadow tables please follow this link.
    Using Data Rules
It has most of the information. If you still hav any clarifications, you can post it here.
I dont know much about operating modes.
Hope this is what you were looking for!

  • Additional message mapping in the operation mapping-use

    Hi Friends,
I could find the option for adding more than one message mappings in the operation mapping(Interface mapping). What is the actual purpose of it. when it is used. If there is any blogs regarding the same. refer any link for the same.
    Regards
    Prem

    Hi Prem
Refer the blog provided by Sarvesh
What is the actual purpose of it. when it is used. If there is any blogs regarding the same
You can use more than one mapping programs for requirement where your message mapping cannot generate the desired structure you want or you want to do some transformations in a sequence for meeting your requirement.
Example: You want to generate a excel sheet as a mail attachment but you have to read a flat file. What you can do here is you can read the Flat file in a single string variable itself. Use XSLT mapping1. Now in a sequence using XSLT Map2/Java mapping program to convert to excel and send as attachment over email
    Thanks
