Office 2013 system administrator Undeliverable messages, only on 2013 NOT 2010

Some of users who are using Outlook 2013 and receiving these messages when trying to send emails. It doesn't matter if they type out the address, find from an address book, or just reply to a message. Outlook 2010 does not have this issue. The diagnostic
message reads:
Diagnostic information for administrators:
Generating server:
/O=*domain*-EXC/OU=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=*username*
# #EX#
Have tried repairing profiles, deleting and recreating profiles, checking for Office updates....

Hi there,
I think the issue you are having is with the LegacyExchangeDN attribute. The legacyExchangeDN value is set when a mailbox is created, and includes the name of the Exchange administrative group where the mailbox belongs. LegacyExchangeDN values typically
look like this:
/o=Organisation/ou=Administrative Group/cn= Recipients/cn=Username
This problem occurs because while the Outlook auto-complete cache stores SMTP addresses for e-mail sent to external addresses, it uses X.500 addresses for e-mail sent to addresses within the Exchange organisation. Even though we had given the user account
all the old SMTP addresses, the old X.500 address which Outlook was sending to was missing, and this was causing Exchange to reject the messages.
Please try to add the old legacyExchangeDN X.500 address to the new mailbox as a proxy address.  You can add an X.500 proxy address through the Exchange Management Console, or the Exchange Management Shell.

  • System Administrator - undeliverable [0x80040401-0x80040401-0x0003ee]

    Hi,
We have migrated an environment from Exchange 2007 to 2013. After that move, we've seen a lot of 0x80040401-0x80040401-0x0003ee hitting 5-10 mailboxes at random times throughout the day, and with about 5-10
    mails per day.
The internet gives a few hints to what this error is caused by. MAPI_TIMEOUT - It is again given a lot of suggestions on how to resolve it, but I have now found an entry on the exchange server giving me a "red"
line in cmtrace - that I can't dechiffer in a way that I understand what is wrong.
Through the troubleshooting process we've identified the following commonalities - they all use blackberry and they all use enterprise vault 10.0.4 addin. Disabling the addin does not seem to have an effect,
and other users using the blackberry (with an identical setup) has no errors.
I'll take one user as an example :
his username is xxyy and the mailbox is about 24.4 gigabytes. I've done the following on the mailbox without success after migrating it from 2007
    1. moved it from one database to another database
    2. gave him a seperate cas server for his outlook client
    3. gave him a seperate mailbox server for his mailbox
    4. moved his mailbox to another database with - donotpreservermailboxsignature
    5. upgraded his outlook from 2010 sp2 to 2013
    6. gave him a completly new computer.
None of this as resolved the issue.
After weeks looking at this as a local issue I've now found a line in my exchange IIS log that is red when I run it in cmtrace that looks to one specific message that is generating this system administrator undeliverable and it is :

    Hello,
Please make sure you use exchange 2013 version. I recommend you update your exchange server 2013 to cu2 or later version. And then please try to archive the contents of large item count folders or distribute these folders into several subfolders to check
    the result.
Besides, please check if there is any related warnings or errors in application log.

  • Outlook 2013 since last patch (Dec 2014) gives error: System Administrator - Undeliverable

After installing the latest round of patches from Microsoft in our environment, we have had numerous users having this issue.  When sending an email, internally or externally, they get the following message.
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
    From: System Administrator
    Subject:  Undeliverable: Email Subject
          Subject:    Email Subject
          Sent: 12/16/2014 9:21 AM
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:
          Person#1 on 12/16/2014 9:21 AM
This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator.  Error is [0x80004005-00000000-00000000].
The problem is sporadic and sometimes just closing Outlook and reopening it will fix the problem.  The problem does happen both when the users are in the office and when they are out.  There isn't any pattern that we can identify.  It
happened to me once and a reboot resolved it for me.  We thought that maybe a specific patch that was installed just needed another reboot but we still have other users that are having the problem even after numerous reboots.
A little more about our environment:
Exchange 2010, fully patched with all service packs and updates (single server)
Running on a Windows 2008R2 server with all service packs and updates
Outlook 2013 with all updates installed
Happening on both Windows 8.1 (fully updated) and Windows 7 (fully updated)
Again this just started happening after the last patch cycle and we have never had this situation occur prior to that.

If you installed Exchange 2010 SP3 RU8 then you need to update to the 2nd revision of that update, as the first one had that very issue.
    Update 12/12/2014:
Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 8 has been re-released to the Microsoft download center resolving a regression discovered in the initial release. The update RU8 package corrects the issue which impacted users connecting to Exchange from Outlook. The
issue was insulated to the MAPI RPC layer and was able to be isolated to quickly deliver the updated RU8 package. The updated RU8 package is version number 14.03.0224.002 if you need to confirm you have the updated package. The updates for Exchange Server
2013 and 2007 were not impacted by this regression and have not been updated.
    Update 12/10/2014:
An issue has been identified in the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 8. The update has been recalled and is no longer available on the download center pending a new RU8 release. Customers should not proceed with deployments of this update
until the new RU8 version is made available. Customers who have already started deployment of RU8 should rollback this update.
The issue impacts the ability of Outlook to connect to Exchange, thus we are taking the action to recall the RU8 to resolve this problem. We will deliver a revised RU8 package as soon as the issue can be isolated, corrected, and validated. We will
publish further updates to this blog post regarding RU8.
This issue only impacts the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 RU8 update, the other updates remain valid and customers can continue with deployment of these packages.

  • Group Message only sends iMessages not SMS

Hello all. I just recently moved to Android but my spouse is still on an iPhone. For some reason, when she group messages it is only sending responses to those with imessage on their phone.  However if she sends me a non group message (only me) it recognizes it as a SMS, turns green and sends the text perfectly. However it will not recognize that I do not have imessage when sending a group text.
She has iMessage, Send as SMS, MMS Messaging and Group Messaging all turned all, but no luck.
The other people with iphones in the group, can send the group texts and their iphones are converting my text to SMS. Its just my wifes phone not sending me SMS when I am in a group, only sending me a SMS when direct to me only..
The phone is updated to the latest software, and I even rebooted her phone with no luck..
Anyone have any idea what is happening?
    Arghh...........

You can only send imessage to other iphone user running IOS 5.0 or higher.
Other phone will send as a text.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3529

I have received to following error from at least three different applications when they have attempted to auto-update recently: X "does not have permission to write to the application's directory! Are you running off a disk image? If not, ask your system administrator for help."
I am not running off a disk image and I have admin privileges... Not sure what the problem is, but it just started happening (a week or two ago) and I have never previously had a problem with these applications auto-updating.  I have repaired permissions and attempted other "fixes" found on the interweb, but nothing works.  Also, this is only happening on my iMac (27" Intel i5) and not my MacBook Pro (17" Intel i5) -- both are running Lion.  Please help!

If you updated using the default install (merge) from before Tiger, you may be seeing an issue that we saw when Leopard first came out last year.
Not sure of the fix - it was not simple - but if you search back in these forums you might find something that will help. I believe it deals with the numbers assigned to accounts (501, etc).
If you open your Accounts Preferences and unlock the padlock, right-click Advanced Options and read your User ID and Group ID. Let us know what they are.
Now, in the other user admin account, do the same thing.

  • Error message GB554 Substitution Is Not Activated in Selected Application

    Hi,
I've created a substitution for WBS element by TC GGB1 but when I try to activate substitution by TC GGB4 for Project System the error message  GB554 "Substitution Is Not Activated in Selected Application" appears.
    Could you help me?
    Thanks
    Giovanna

    Hi Giovanna,
Per my understanding you need to assign the WBS substitution in project profile (Transaction OPSA) in 'Control' tab. You will see a section called 'Substitution' under this tab. Take a dropdown and assign appropriate substitution to corresponding project profile you want.
    Hope this helps.

  • I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation."  I am the sole user- please help.

I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This is a stand alone computer and I am the sole user.   Please help.

This is a Microsoft Windows Issue.
    From a MS Support Engineer:
    "Hi,
    ·        Is the computer on a domain?
    ·        Is the issue isolated to only this software or you get the same error message with other software’s as well?
Try the steps below and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
    a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.
    b. Select “Run as administrator”.
    Step 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software running on the computer and check if you are able to install the software.
    Disable antivirus software
    Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Step 3:
    a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
    b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
    c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
    d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
    e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed."

  • Office 365 Reporting Web Service Message Trace - It says it can get the past 30 days but i can only get the past 7 days

It says Message Trace data is stored for 90 days here: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj723162(v=exchg.150).aspx
When running the MessageTrace report using the Office 365 Reporting Web Service it only returns the past
7 days, even though it says up to 30 days here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj984335(v=office.15).aspx.
PowerShell’s "Get-MessageTrace" cmdlet only returns the past 7 days as well. PowerShell also has
an alternative cmdlet called "Start-HistoricalSearch" which returns the MessageTrace results between 7 and 90 days old.
Is it supposed to return 30 days, or is the documentation wrong, or is their an alternative report (like
PowerShell) to get MessageTrace results for over 7 days using the Office 365 Reporting Web Service?
Note: I'm aware that the results are returned in batches of 2000 MessageTrace results.

That document is pretty old last modified March 2013 so I would say it's out of date. The reporting services are still pretty new in the current release I believe 7 days is limit for the Rest Endpoint and the Get-MessageTrace cmdlet (which is what
the more recent documentation around message tracking say) there is no REST endpoint for Start-HistoricalSearch you can see all the current endpoints by looking at the Metadata via
    https://reports.office365.com/ecp/reportingwebservice/reporting.svc/$metadata
These services are evolving so new features and reports are added which is explained in
http://msdn.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/office/jj984346(v=office.15).aspx . But there is no public information on Timeframes and what reports and features are going to be added in future updates (that I know of). If you need data older then
7 days then Automating the HistoricalSearch cmdlets would be the way to do it for now.
    Cheers
    Glen

  • Why won't subfolders populate with messages in Outlook 2013 (only on one account)?

I just migrated 8 users from Gmail to Office 365 Online Exchange.  Everything went swimmingly well for all accounts except one.  Strangely, the accounts with unbelievably large folders and subfolders had no problem populating their users Outlook
2010 and 2013 installations.  Just this one account with very little email but some nested subfolders beneath the Inbox is having problems.  I used the built-in migration tool in Office 365 with success in all cases.  However, although
this user has access to all her email when logged into the portal, nothing I do seems to get email into those subfolders in Outlook.
Here's some things I've tried.  I've tried exporting to a .pst file in the Gmail account.  Unfortunately the .pst file has no messages in the subfolders (I seem to remember this as a feature of gmail imap.) I've tried moving the messages in the
Inbox (it's pretty little) into a subfolder online and moving the subfolder messages down to the local PC through the inbox.  The messages came down to the inbox but disappear when I try to move them into the subfolder!  I've not only recreated
the profile but I just added the profile to my own office PC running Windows 8.1 and Outlook 2013 and am getting the same result.
There must be a way to do this.  I'm embarrassed at the moment and hope someone can help!

Did you try changing the view? I've had issues exporting IMAP mail because the folders retain the IMAP type flag and use IMAP and I suspect that is what is going on here.

  • System Administrator message

Several times in the last few weeks I have suddenly received an email headed System Administrator message unavailable. It says: "This message is no longer available on the server."  On one occasion I was online with my ISP support when this message came in direct to my email client, and then as we watched, five minutes later it appeared on the ISP server. I am concerned about what or who originated the message, as it did not come from the ISP. Could it indicate a hacker has got access to my system? Can anyone suggest?

This is what I get when I contact support.
These aren't true emails, because they are missing all the common requirements of an email such as 'Received' and 'Date' headers. This message was not generated by the SMTP application that receives all email from the internet and puts it in the mailbox.  Something else placed it there.  More over, the mail server is smart enough that it wouldn't refer to itself as 'localhost', only a poorly configured server wouldn't put their true name in. Here's a clue:
      http://markmail.org/message/44ginmx6wytjalbx
So it would appear the mail server is running the same patch this person proposes in this email.  Whenever your email client requests a messageID that doesn't exist (anymore), it returns this string and apparently creates an item in your inbox. The timestamps on the files above seem to coincide with an IMAP login:
Jan 22 17:46:52 atlas2 imapd: LOGIN, user=[email protected], ip=[::ffff:24.234.221.37], port=[50921], protocol=IMAP Perhaps because the headers are missing, the email client might repeated request the messages without recognizing them as being something it has seen before and present them as new emails. I removed the four emails from the inbox.  Lets see if they come back.  If they do, I might ask you to 'reindex' or 'repair' the inbox mailfolder in the email client.
He states I should reindex or repair the inbox folder.  I'm not sure how to do that for mac2011 outlook.

  • ITunes music files cannot be edited, and new music files imported.  The messages says I do not have enough access privileges even though I am the administrator of the system.

Since installing the latest version of iTunes all my music files cannot be edited, and I cannot import new music files into iTunes.  The messages says I do not have enough access privileges even though I am the administrator of the system.  If anyone can help me sort this out I would be really grateful.  I have checked the read and write privileges for all the iTunes folders and it all seems in order so I can't understand it.
In general, I am getting really frustrated with Apple.  They seem to be getting ever more controlling in their approach to their consumers.  I need to edit music file information as I am a dj.  And why can't I import music, unless I buy it from iTunes?  Most of all, why can't I use the devices I paid a lot of money for in the way I want to use them, and not be forced to coerced to use apple's fee paying services (iCloud, iTunes).
I have used apple computers since the early 1990's, but in the last year I have gotten rid of my iPhone and my iPad and replaced them with Android devices.  Much better and much less control.  Perhaps it is time to switch from Apple altogether.
